Prologue
If you love stories about families that stick together and love each other through thick and thin and it all ends happily ever after...
Then you probably shouldn't ask me for one.
You see...
It really doesn't matter how good of a person you are, does it?
The world can be a pretty cold place.
But... Still... It's alright I guess.
I'm the crazy one who thinks that words reach people after all.
Don't get me wrong yeah? I'm allowed to be angry about what happened... I'm allowed to be angry about what she did.
To put it simply - you could say that nobody notices how sad you are until it turns into anger.
And that's when they start to care. That's when they start to try to patch things up-and believe me, they tried. But… no… its too late for that after all…
Well, whatever.
But you know, I'm not always like this. But it's no use going back to yesterday because I was a different person then.
Maybe you could call this growing up- maybe not. But all I know is this, promises were just some sort of fabricated way to take hold of someone. To keep them under your control.
And it always ends the same.
It's always meant to be broken...
Well, I guess I could also thank her for this. For giving me a new perspective.
I used to think that one conversation can fix a lot of things. If someone is willing to talk about whatever it is they've disagreed upon, it will all end well - no harm is done.
But as it turns out, for most of the time, it doesn't quite end like that. This is real life, nothing ends up how you wanted it to be.
And so I turned into this... impassive, emotionless.. but, I think its better this way.
It's better to not get close to anyone.
It never ends well anyway.
Saki smiled when she saw a 6-sō tile being discarded. As she expected, right from the person she's gunning for. Nelly Virsaladze.
"Ron." She pushed her hand open, starting from the right and working her way to the left, "Nine Gates, that's 32,000 from you."
"And that ends the semi-final match! With that Kiyosumi and Himematsu will advance to the finals! With Kiyosumi's Miyanaga finally making her move at the last two hands with a Ryuuiisou and now a Chuuren Poutou!"
"The turn of events has been indeed surprising. With the 2 consecutive direct hit Yakumans at Rinkai's Nelly Virsaladze, Himematsu also made a comeback and got in 2nd place."
"That last two Yakumans made by Miyanaga Saki made all the difference for both Kiyosumi and Himematsu!"
"I admit it was indeed confusing at first to see such a player who is known for her Rinshan Kaihou to just suddenly not use it in her plays. I'm sure her opponents were confused about that… but a win is a win so I can't complain.. although… I can't help but notice that the way she played is different yet kind of reminiscent to…"
"Ah- Miyanaga Teru? But didn't you hear? The champion was actually asked in an interview about that- If she and Kiyosumi's Miyanaga is related at all but she refrained from answering."
"Well I'm not quite sure if that would put out the fire between the rumors but if that's what it is then so be it. One thing I know though is that I want to see them play at the same table."
"Well, who wouldn't want that?"
Author's Note:
Well, I've been itching to write some Saki fic for a while now. It seems there is a shortage of Saki Fics and I'd like to remedy that.
So, here it is! My take on Saki going somewhat "Dark" (not really) and in turn how it affects Teru.
This story starts after the Taishou round at Chapter 99 in the manga for reference. But, the Prologue is a few steps ahead of that. Call it a hint of how the story would go to. :)
Let me know what you think?
