AN: Good morning everyone. I know I haven't updated this story in years. But recently I have been listening to The Phantom of the Opera audiobook and it makes me want to write and write. I just want you all to know that none of my stories have been abandoned and that I hope to finish them all eventually. Anyways today is Thursday 10/14/21 and anything you recognize is JK Rowling's and anything you don't is mine.
Severus POV
I stared into the fireplace sipping on a glass of firewhiskey. Drowning my sorrows as they called it. Bloody hell, why did things never go as planned. I sighed and pinched the bridge of my nose with my thumb and forefinger.
I slowly made my way to the staff room, feeling as if I had swallowed a live eel. Most of the teachers made their way into the room looking sick and nervous. I didn't feel much better. Filius opened the door for me and I nodded politely at him. He ignored me. I rolled my eyes and slowly crossed over to the large sign that took up the noticeboard. Gasps sounded from the professors as they read over the sheet. Minerva was holding tightly to one of the chairs looking shocked. I tried to catch her eye but she wouldn't look at me. In fact no one would look at me. I frowned and strode up to the sheet.

The Phantom - Severus Snape
I sighed and took a long sip of Firewhiskey. I had a funny feeling I would be having a lot of nights like this. The thought of playing the titular Phantom was overwhelming. I had looked over the script thoroughly like I had been asked and it was chaotic. The Phantom was in every scene but two, he sang most of his lines, and he was in love with Christine. And therein was my biggest problem. Hermione Granger was playing the part of Christine. A shudder ran through my body. I would have to kiss my student. Another shudder rippled through me and I twitched slightly. This was not what I had planned for this year. Not at all.
Hermione POV
Ginny, Luna, and I made our way slowly through Hogwarts towards the Great Hall. A lot of the seventh year girls were mad at us since we had the main leads for the show. Like it was our fault. I blew out a heavy breath as we made our way into the Great Hall and I gasped. All of the tables had been moved so that it made a giant square around the perimeter of the room. Some of the students were sitting around the room flipping through the script.
Professor Snape and Minerva were sitting together talking softly. Snape flicked a glance in my direction. I held his eyes for a moment before looking away.
"We should find a spot." Luna said softly, tugging on my arm.
"And grab a script." Ginny said, pulling me towards Dora. There was a giant box in front of where she was sitting. It was filled with large books. The script.
"Take a script and grab a seat. We won't do the read through until everyone is here, or eleven o'clock whichever comes first. Read through as much of the script as you can. There are highlighters, quills, and ink should you need them." Dora said all of this without looking up. She was making notes on a large diagram of what looked like the stage.
Ginny grabbed three scripts, Luna grabbed the quills and ink pots, and I grabbed some highlighters. We made our way to a spot where no one was sitting. I sat in my seat and leaned back with a sigh pulling one of the scripts towards me and flipped it open.

I was flipping through my script quickly, highlighting my lines, songs, and stage directions. It took longer than I had expected to do all that.
"You should drink something." I jumped and looked up from Act 1 Scene 10. Colin was standing in front of me holding a cup of hot chocolate.
"How long have we been at this?" I asked, stretching slowly.
"About an hour." Ginny said, yawning widely. Luna ran a hand through her hair and looked up from the script.
"We almost have everyone here. We'll be starting the readthrough soon." Colin said, setting down the hot chocolate.
"Thank you, Colin." I said, as he slowly backed away to sit next to Neville.
"Anytime. Little Lotte." He said with a smile and a light laugh. I blinked and felt a smile cross my face. Looked like Colin wouldn't have any trouble getting into character for this one. Something dark moved out of the corner of my eye and I turned. Snape was watching me with a strange intensity in his eyes. A warm flush spread across my cheeks and Snape turned away. It was hard to tell from this angle but for whatever reason I thought his mouth was turned up in a smirk.
AN: Please review friends! It means so much to me guys and it helps me get out chapters faster! And please note that the script notes that I used are from Andrew Lloyd Webber.
