One month has passed since the octarians' defeat at Octo Canyon. New laws have been created in Inkopolis Town thanks to a project created by the inkling government to ban any, and all octarians from visiting out of fear of them stealing the Great Zapfish for a third time. One octoling however, wants to set everything right between the two races after being spared by a certain face.

After hearing from an Inkopolis News Report that an enormous rainstorm is forming in the Atlantic Ocean and will be covering most of the planet for about a week while wanting to go hang out with the Squid Sisters, Agent 3 chooses to stay with the Squid Sisters in the Calamari Region for a week, taking care of Capn' Cuttlefish and DJ Octavio in order to have a good week for himself.

Birthdays are usually celebrated with lots of food, delicious desserts and drinks, right? That's exactly what happens during Kalma's 18th birthday, when he invites his squad members along with Epsilon and his squad to cheer him and everyone else up. However, Marie has hidden a special gift for Kalma that might turn out to be more than just an ordinary surprise. (My first lemon!)

During a regular morning after having hosted a news report, Marie starts to feel somewhat down, feeling that everything is just the same thing over and over again with every day that passes by. Callie decides to change this after hearing this from Marie, and comes up with an idea for them both to go to the park together and spend their entire day there along with Kalma and Epsilon.

After finding out that a new update to Splatoon has arrived, a player finds themselves playing Splatoon's new singleplayer campaign: The Rainstorm. However, this new update has a few changes that causes the player to write about his experience, and what he has seen while playing through it, seeing everything this new update has to offer along with real world problems.
