Welcome back to the sequel for the My Word story. There are a series of 4 stories (one for each region). Since I originally planned this story back when Ash was traveling around Sinnoh, there are only 4 regions in this world: Kanto, Johto, Hoenn, and Sinnoh. Anyway, I feel like this story is going to be a lot shorter than My Word, and it may be the shortest one in the stories. Enjoy~

Chapter 1

"I'm not surprised he isn't here." Romeo Hayden says while taking off his shirt to jump in the pool.

"He'll be here!" Amy Ketchum insists as she swims over to the group.

"Look, Amy, it's been 2 days and no sign of Dillon." Allie Shinji chimes in.

"Guys, Dillon will be here. We still have 3 more days." Kaz Oak mentions while ruffling Amy's hair. The 13 year old smiles at her older cousin.

"I don't know, guys. Are you sure Dillon has changed?" Romeo's twin Rose asks.

"Why are you guys so focused on him anyways? He's never gave a damn about us." Connor Shinji replies while sipping on his drink by the poolside.

"He has changed! You'll see! He promised to be here and he will!" exclaims Amy.

"When's the last time you've seen him, Amy? Two weeks ago? Maybe he's locked up somewhere again." Romeo says with a shrug.

"Stop it, Romeo." Kaz snaps at the green haired boy. This summer, it is the Oak's turn to plan the reunion. Of course, Gary rented a yacht with its own pool and battle stage. All members of each family have been enjoying their cruise since hopping on board in Vermillion City, except Dillon seems to be missing for the 4th year in a row. The kids minus Jack Hayden and the newest Ketchum baby are currently in the pool while the adults, Jack, and Lok Ketchum are lounging in the chairs alongside the pool.

"Have you reached Dillon yet?" Dawn Shinji asks Misty Ketchum as the redhead walks back from another failed pokenav call. She shakes her head and joins her husband Ash Ketchum in a lounging chair. Their newborn, Lok, is sleeping soundly in a baby seat nearby.

"He really looked like a different person on TV a few months ago." Drew quirks.

"He is." Ash smiles and envelopes Misty in his arms. "He'll be here. He always keeps his word."

"I can't wait to see him!" May Hayden says. She's been excited to witness her nephew's positive changes for herself, but hasn't had a chance to so far.

"Oh. He'll be here." Gary smirks. "Maybe he'll bring his girlfriend too."

Leaf Oak smacks her husband's chest. "They say they're not dating."

"You mean that bluenette he beat in the finals?" Dawn asks.

"Troublehead, stay out of the kid's love life." Paul says while sipping his drink. Like father, like son.

Misty smiles and nods. "Aurora Lightfield from Vermillion City. Maybe we'll see her when we dock." The woman says.

"Wait. You said Dillon went with her somewhere like 2 weeks ago and hasn't come back?" May recalls.

Misty nods. Two weeks ago, Dillon had frantically told his mother that Aurora needed help, so he'd have to leave immediately. Trusting her son and his friend, she let him go. Also, because she really likes Aurora; thus, she hopes Dillon can help the girl with whatever troubles could've occurred.

"Maybe they eloped?!" Dawn exclaims and Misty rolls her eyes.

"That would explain why he isn't picking up any calls." Drew says knowingly and Gary nods in agreement.

"Guys, Aurora would not elope with anyone right now." Misty explains.

"Hey. What's that?" The group's attention is diverted to the sky as Ash points up. There is a helicopter flying towards them as well as some pokemon flying above. The Wingulls and Pelipers are flying away from the chaos. "Get your pokemon, guys!" Ash yells as he hops off the chair and yells for his pokemon. The rest of the adults and children do the same. Misty hands Lok to Amy and makes the girl go inside with him and Jack, much to Amy's dismay.

"BOOM!" There is an explosion up ahead as the helicopter hovers directly above the yacht. From the thick black smoke, a black figure is falling fast. The figure is engulfed in a red beam before disappearing and two visible humans and a small pokemon are seen crashing down.

"Alakazam, psychic!" Gary orders. The psychic type is able to catch the two humans and pokemon before they crash into the yacht and hover them to the ground in front of the adults. One human has short blonde hair and is visibly unconscious. His shirtless body is covered in cuts and bruises. His right hand is in a pink rubber glove. The pokemon is a Pikachu with 2 notches on its tail. The other boy has short black hair and diamond earrings. His black beater tank is worn and there are some visible wounds on him, but he is barely conscious. He looks to his saviors and his eyes turn wide before he looks back up at the disappearing smoke.

"Aurora's up there!" He frantically yells. Ash and Gary nod to each other before hopping on Charizard and Aerodactyl. Dillon runs over to try and join his father.

"Dillon, stay here!" Ash orders.

"No way, dad! She's my friend!" The moment these words leave Dillon's mouth, ropes descend from the helicopter as people in black jump down onto the yacht.

"We have no time to argue!" Gary exclaims as Aerodactyl takes off. Kaz and his Crobat follow as well as Drew and Flygon, Paul and Honchkrow, Romeo and Salamence, and Connor and Swellow.

Dillon looks over at his mom and aunts. "Mom!" He shouts, but she gives him a determined look as she throws out Politoed, Corsola, Gyarados, Starmie, and Vaporeon. The rest of his aunts release their Pokemon too as they battle the Rocket grunts. "Surf!" Dillon commands his Vaporeon he had left in his mom's care. Sticking by the unconscious Duke, Dillon holds the fainted Pika in his arms. He frantically looks around, and sees a flamethrower heading straight towards him and Duke. "Protect!" Dillon orders the Vaporeon who is soon on him to make the shield.

"No one attacks my son and gets away with it!" The fuming Misty shouts as she commands her Pokemon to attack.

Seeing as how the women have the battle under control, Dillon seeks help to move Duke. He spots his girl cousins and makes eye contact with Allie. "Allie, help!" Pleads the boy. Her and Rose rush over where Dillon hands Rose Pika.

"What do you need, Dillon?" Allie worriedly asks as Dillon tries to lift up Duke.

Normally, Dillon could lift the boy up alone, but he's too weak from their journey. "Help me move him to safety, will you?" She nods, so Dillon turns his attention back to Vaporeon. "Protect us, Vaporeon!"

"Por!" She determinedly cries. Dillon and Allie each take one of Duke's arms before dragging the boy onto a lawn chair away from the battle.

"Get the subject!" One of the grunts yells when they notice Duke has moved. Since Vaporeon is preoccupied with another pokemon, a Victreebel's vines shoot over to Dillon, Duke, Rose, and Allie, so Dillon shoves his cousins out of the way. Fortunately, a flamethrower on the vines make Victreebel retract them in pain. Dillon looks up to see his dad and Charizard as the grunt yells, "Retreat!" The pokemon are returned and the ropes bring the grunts back into the helicopter before flying off.

Dillon worriedly looks around since everyone from the sky battle has returned. He spots a familiar head of blue hair and quickly grabs her wrist. "Are you okay?"

She ignored him as she asks, "Where's Duke? Dillon, where's Duke?" The frantic girl starts to tear up.

"He's over there." Dillon points to the lawnchair and Aurora rushes over to her brother.

"Duke!" Aurora yells to receive no answer.

Dillon runs to the side of the yacht and grabs a portable charger. He rips off Duke's pink glove and shoves the charger into the unconscious boy's hand, which immediately explodes the portable as Duke's hand sparks. The group falls back from the explosion. Dillon clicks his tongue.

"What are you doing?" Aurora exclaims at him.

"Trying to save his life! Yelling at him isn't gonna do anything!" He shouts back.

"Then we should've gone to the hospital!"

"I was trying to lead us there until we were found!" he retorts.

"I told you to leave me! I can handle Team Rocket!"

"I told you to leave me! I was the Kanto Champion!"

"Yeah, and you almost died up there! If they weren't here, Duke would've died too!"

"Guys, it's not the time to argue." Gary mentions. Dillon glares at the girl and then turns his attention back to Duke.

"Look. Treat him like he's an electric type pokemon." The boy says.

"My brother is NOT a pokemon!" Aurora objects.

"Do you want him to live or not, Aurora? Because I do!" Dillon gets in her face and she shoves him out of the way.

"He's my brother. Mind your own business." She says as she approaches Duke and manages to slip the pink rubber glove back over his sparking hand.

"You called me. It's my business now." Dillon grabs her wrist and gives her an intense glare.

"I'm starting to regret it." spats the bluenette while they glare at each other.

Gary walks in between the bickering teens. "Okay. I'm sorry Aurora, but I think Dillon is right here. I think I can help. You two go rest and us adults will take care of it." He smiles at them.

Dillon sighs and runs a hand through his hair as Aurora gives Duke a worried look. "We can trust my Uncle Gary. He knows the most about pokemon biology." He tells the girl.

"Duke is not a pokemon." She says weakly.

Dillon looks at her awkwardly. "I know. But he's shooting electricity like one, so maybe that's what we've gotta do for now. Until we can get to a hospital." he tells her.

"I'll take care of him like he's my own son." Gary smiles at the girl. She gives a small nod and the group disperses to allow Gary and Leaf to attend to the unconscious boy.

Dillon runs after Aurora and grabs her wrist, but she forcibly rips her arm away from him. "Leave me alone, Dillon."

"We need to talk." he sternly tells her.

However, she glares angrily into his cerulean blue eyes. "I don't want to talk to you."

"Really? Because I just risked my ass for you and your family, and you're not gonna tell me why Team Rocket keeps targeting you?" he shouts at her. It's not fair that he's being kept out of the dark like this, especially when lives are at stake.

"You wouldn't understand."

"Try me."

"Really? You want me to tell you about my family problems when you can't even handle your own?" The bluenette narrows her eyes at him. "You still haven't fully patched things up with your dad!"

Dillon glares at her because how dare she bring up his family. They've never caused trouble for her, like hers has been doing to him. What a low blow. Letting go of her, he backs up, "You know what, Aurora. You're right. I'll stay out of your little family drama. Just don't ever call me again." With that the two angry teens head in opposite directions.

"Aurora." Kaz says to the pissed off girl walking past him as he grabs her arm to stop her.

"I want to be left alone, Kaz." she tells him while keeping her gaze on the ground.

Sighing, he gives her a warm smile. "Okay. I'll show you to a room and you can get cleaned up too." She nods gratefully before Kaz leads her down the stairs inside the yacht and down the hall to an empty bedroom.

Before the hallway is a large common area with chairs, and that's where Amy had been waiting. She notices the beat up Aurora, but when Kaz gives Amy a head shake, the redhead chooses to stay silent. Once Kaz walks back, the rest of the teens minus Dillon are in the common area, and Amy pounces on Kaz. "Why's Aurora here? What's wrong? Where's Dillon? I heard the battle going on outside!"

Kaz puts his hands in front of her because she won't let him get a word in. "I don't know, but Dillon and Duke are on the deck somewhere. They were being chased by Team Rocket."

"What?!" Exclaims the girl. She then hands Lok to Kaz before sprinting onto the deck.

Sighing as he sits down with the newborn, Kaz notices Rose applying ointment to a wound on her knee that wasn't there before. "How'd you get that?"

"Oh. Uh, Dillon pushed us out of the way of a vine whip attack." She tells him, and Allie nods.

Romeo raises an eyebrow at this. "Dillon saved you guys?"

"Yeah. He was gonna take the hit, but Uncle Ash saved him." Rose knowingly tells her twin. "I told you to stop talking bad about him."

"But why was Team Rocket chasing them?" Connor asks the group who just shrugs.

"I heard them call that blonde kid a subject." Allie says.

"Like a test subject?" Kaz questions.

"It'd explain how his hand keeps sparking electricity." Connor tells them.

The only thing unnatural in this series is Duke's ability to have his own electrical powers due to Team Rocket's experiments. You'll find out what happened later on in the series and why Duke was chosen.
