Miss Queen B: Welcome Back Dear Readers, I hope everyone had a good Father's day weekend. I'll keep it short so Notes:
Note One: I'm going to be honest, I almost discontinued this Book due to so much backlash from the previous chapter. I really didn't think it was going to cause such a huge commotion like it did, but like I said there's a reason a lot of my stories are rated M since it deals with a lot of difficult topics and I do give out warnings. So after taking a break since I was burnt out and focus on "Midnight Black" and get that one completed since it is connected to this story, I finally got my spunk back to continue with this book. I'm sorry for the delay and I hope I didn't lose a lot of readers because of it.
Note Two: Before jumping into this chapter, I would really recommend reading "Midnight Black" since those two are connected to each other. The last part of this chapter takes place right after the ending of "Midnight Black" and damn, I hope I did a good job on it since everyone is wondering what's going to happen. lol. Also there are a few hints of my other book "Fanning the Flames" in here as well.
Note Three: So about this chapter: We continue seeing Gojira and Anguirus bond and form a steady friendship. Anguirus introduce a new member into their little group despite Gojira protest and it does not go well. (Present) Behemoth needs to figure out how to get Azure back without the King noticing. Rodan has a lot of conflicting thoughts. Gojira takes Azure to go see Methuselah only to find the Mountain Kaiju in a very awkward position. Also, Barb really needs to learn to keep her mouth shut.
Thank you so much for all the reviews. Enjoy.

Don't You Love Surprises
~A friend is one who
Overlooks your broken fence

~Never let your best friends
Get lonely
Keep disturbing them.~

(Dream Mode)
The first night with his new...friend...companion...the one that won't stop following him...who knows, either way it was weird. For decades he would walk alone, eat alone, talk to himself to the point of nearly losing his sanity and sleep alone then all of a sudden this? Granted he had some company at night once in a while. Those silly Empty Flings he would meet that wandered too far away from their pack when no one was looking when the loneliness became unbearable. He would use the females and ditch them the next day, but this time it was different.
You don't talk very much do you?
He snapped out of his thoughts and lifted his head from the ground to stare at Angurius who was lying down away from him. After traveling over to the ocean for water and grub, they decided to settle for the night though from the looks of it Anguirus doesn't like to be ignored or enjoy the silent night like he did.
He grumbled and suddenly heard a small snapping sound in the background. He jerked and let out a threatening growl while making his plates glow.
What's wrong? Anguirus asked, looking around while his eyes squinted from the bright light of his backplates.
I heard something. He said, in a low voice.
We're right next to the ocean and a popular habitat, you're going to hear a lot of weird noises in the night.
He snorted before letting out a sad sigh. And you're not afraid it could be an intruder?
Anguirus shrugged, No not really, I mean yeah, when I was with my Herd, there was no reason to feel afraid and I have you so why be afraid now?
He just stared at him and didn't say anything. He's not the type to admit that even someone like him could be afraid, but being alone at night tends to put him on the edge and having glowing plates he has a hard time controlling was not helping him when it comes to being invisible.
As if reading his thoughts, Anguirus cleared his throat. If it helps, I don't mind staying up to keep watch so you can sleep.
What makes you think I have a hard time sleeping?! I'm not afraid! He said, rather quickly than he wanted it to be.
….It was just a suggestion. Anguirus said, unmoved by his sudden outburst. Or we can talk if you like. I mean, you hardly said much since we got here.
Maybe I'm just a quiet Being. He said, rudely.
Or maybe you're just too used to talking to yourself, Smartass. Anguirus said without missing a beat.
A small smirk appeared, You have balls to talk to me like that.
I hardly doubt you would hurt me or else you would have finished me off when we first met. Anguirus said, giving him a smirk back. So what's with the glow? I mean I heard of one Lizard kaiju doing this, but I just thought my brother was just making things up.
His eyes widened. Another one?
Yeah, my brother told me when he was young, way, way before I was born, our Herd was visited by a lone Lizard kaiju asking if they've seen a Pack around here. He was nice, but one of our hot-headed males didn't trust him and decided to fight off the "Threat." Next thing my brother saw was the Lizard's plates glowing followed by a weird beam coming out of his mouth. It didn't kill our male, but it left him stunned no less. Our Alpha was kind enough to point him to the location he needed to go. Anguirus chuckled.
His face darkens, Did...your brother happened to know the Lizard's name?
No, he couldn't remember the name. He was young after all, but the sight of his blue beam was something he'll never forget. Hey, can you shoot beams too? Are there more of you like that out there?
He huffed from all the questions. As far as I know, My Sire and I are the only ones. Everyone feared him except for my mother, she saw another side of him even I didn't get to see. I can shoot "Beams" as you put it, but not willingly. I only did it once and ended up killing someone in the process.
I see. That's probably hard to live with?
No, not really. I was fighting for my life so it was self defense.
Then why do you look so down about it?
He shrugged, First Kill. How should I react to it? Not to mention, I was kicked out of the pack for it and I ended up hurting someone in the process.
He thought about Jaya and those tears of failure running down her cheeks. He knew he put her through a lot of stuff, her once young, full of life, self changed the second she lost her best friend and had to look after him and raise him as her own. He lost count how many times Jayanta would yell at him because she caught Jaya crying to Dalia about how stressed out she's been and how she "can't make a connection with him." He never saw Jaya cry till that day he was forced to leave.
Yeah, I know the feeling. I remember my first Kill….my excitement to prove myself that I was just as strong as my brother ended up being my downfall. My little sister got hurt in the process when I took on a weird bat/snake kaiju. I was sloppy to say the least and my sister thought I needed help so she got in the way.
That must've been hard.
At first, but then that stupid bat tried to coil himself around my body and ending up getting stabbed multiple times by my spikes on my back. He smiled tiredly.
He was getting tired so he curled his tail around him and laid back down. The light from his plates faded down to a soft glow and he yawned.
I guess you're done with our conversation? Angurius asked. But he didn't sound angry by it, more like amazed on how rude he could be.
I'm tired. He said, closing his eyes.
Alright, I'll take the first watch then you can watch the next night.
Fine. He grumbled before going to sleep.
00000000000
He hated socializing...and told his companion multiple times about it. Yet, that was the one thing Anguirus told him in order for their friendship to balance out, he needed to be around other kaijus. He can't complain, the few years have been different now with Anguirus around. The days were nicer, less lonely that's for sure and less quieter and the nights...thanks to his friend, he was able to sleep through the night without fear of getting ambushed . He slightly chuckled when he said the word "friend"...when was the last time he called another kaiju a friend. Sure, when he was growing up, he had his Foster Sister, but she was just there because she had to be. Constantly reminding him that she was looking out for him so her mom would stop whining. He snorted, and out of boredom, started to think about Jaya and her well-being. He didn't miss her and he actually felt bad about that since she tried so hard to make him feel loved and wanted, but he just couldn't get attached to her or anyone. Anguirus figured that out after the first few days they were together, when Anguirus realized he wasn't a talkative kaiju and moody all the time. But his Spiky kaiju friend was patient and positive and after a few months of him getting him out of his grumpy shell, he started to open up to him more and more. He might never say it out loud or to Anguirus directly, but he was glad to have him around...though he was sure Anguirus knew that without the use of words.
Still….the one flaw he saw in Anguirus was the whole socializing thing. Every couple of months or so, he would enter a herd or pack or flock just to get to know other species, most of the time they were not allowed due to him being a very intimidating specimen, but Anguirus would use his Trusting, humorous charm to convince them that he were no threat, plus it helps when he would just stay as far away from the herd, pack or flock as possible and just catch up on his sleep or just watch his friend interact with strangers.
He suddenly felt something nudging him on his side and he looked down to see a young Mountain kaiju male looking up at him. He cringed from the closeness and being touched. He really thought he was far away from the Herd Anguirus wanted them to stay with for the night.
Hey buddy. The male said, a little peeved.
What? He asked, a little annoyed from the male's rudeness.
Can you ask your friend to tone down the charm...the other males are getting a bit pissy over it.
He looked over at his friend who had a bunch of females and calves surrounding him while he told them stories of their wild adventures over the years. Of course, the females would laugh and giggle while the young ones stare up at his Spike kaiju companion. The Mountain Kaijus were a strange set of creatures. Their Males were bulky, tough, and covered in grass and trees. While he was covered with scales, their skin was made of rock with scars and dents. Yet their females would be half their size, a little more smoother rock skin and covered with flowers and vines. Each female had a different type of flowers on them and had smaller horns and claws than their male counterparts. He hasn't seen anything this colorful since they encountered a flock of feathered serpent-birds a while back….or that rare beauty bug that would pester him every few weeks or so.
And? What do you want me to do about it? He asked, looking down at the male.
Can you make him stop?
He rolled his eyes from the young male's pettiness. If he's charming a female you like, that's your problem not his or mine. He said without a care in the world. He noticed the male tensing up when Anguirus was paying close attention to a particular female with red flowers (roses) and thorns on her long, lush vines. They were both laughing and acting like they knew each other closely. Anguirus even went as far as reaching up to touch some of the flowers dangling in her face. (Smooth move,) He thought with a tiny chuckle, (Smooth move.)
The young male snorted, the look of jealousy was so obvious it was actually affecting the trees on his back. He grunted and normally would just shoved the young male away, but Anguirus told him not to start anything unless he wants the whole herd to attack them. Mountain Kaijus were made to fight and are no pushovers like other species. Were all Plant-looking kaijus this aggressive? When they were nesting by the ocean a few weeks back, they came across some weird looking Root/Tree-kaiju with ugly eyes and a nasty dangling tongue. The Tree thing didn't like them around his terrority and he took a nasty beating thanks to Anguirus trying to make friends with it. Anguirus tried to talk to the Thing, but the Thing wasn't in the mood to talk and tried to strike him and he did something he never thought he would do. He got right between them and took the blow from the Root Kaiju in order to protect his stupid friend. Never in his life did he ever protect someone that wasn't because he was told to. He just didn't want Anguirus to get hurt-
I'm serious, if you don't tell him something, I will and I have back-up. The Young male said, trying to sound threatening.
(Fuck it all.) He thought and got up from his comfy spot. I hope you know females don't find your jealousy charming. He said, before walking over to the small group and Anguirus. Literally dragging his feet and tail in the green grass. As he got closer to his companion, he could hear him telling them about how they first met….well, telling the female with the red flowers to be exact.
So there we were, arms in arms with neither of us backing down. His plates glowing bright in fury, but I didn't back down. My friend is a tough fighter, but even tall, bulky lizard kaijus have a weak spot. So what I did-
He reached down and grabbed Anguirus by the tail and dragged him away from the females and the young calves with all eyes staring at him. Anguirus didn't even protest, instead he just chuckled nervously.
Sorry, ladies and young ones, I guess I need to have a chat with my companion for a bit. No worries, I'll be back to finish the story.
Yeah, and hopefully he tells it right. We didn't fight that much. He fell on his back and got stuck and needed me to tip him over. He said as loud as possible.
The small group started to laugh and Anguirus said nothing, but was clearly embarrassed. He dragged his companion by the young male who stood there speechless. Are you happy now? He asked, annoyed. Don't bother me again. And continued his walk till they were on the outskirts of the Herd.
Um….is there a problem, Goji? Anguirus asked while yanking his tail away from his claws.
He snorted, Telling your wild tales again, Ang?
Anguirus laughed and got up from the ground. Come on Goji, I was just trying to make a good impression on Io, that's all. Mountain females love strong, bulky males. He said, smiling.
Like you would have a chance with her. You're a Spike kaiju, she's not.
True, but my Kind and her Kind are quite compatible. Io is actually a half-breed with her Sire being a Spike.
You sure, I don't see other Spikes around here?
She's new to this Herd, Mountain kaijus tend to travel from one Herd to another if there's not enough male or females around.
And talking about me impresses her, how? He asked.
Well she was curious why we were traveling together and what we did over the years. Which led to her asking how we met and like I said I wanted to make a good impression.
I see, and you thought making up a story of you beating me in a brawl would be a good idea?
Hey, come on, if it was the other way around, you would do the same thing. Anguirus said, slyly.
He rolled his eyes, Living and Surviving is the only priority right now. I have no time for females.
Yeah, yeah, so you said, but what about the Moth that keeps coming around every so often?
He slightly blushed and got a little peeved. There's nothing going on. She just likes to stalk me, that's all.
More like she's trying to get to know you. I see her and the way she looks at you. She would always try to talk to you, but you would shoo her away. Out of all those encounters, do you even know her name?
Why would I want to know her name or her if that matters? She's just a pest.
She's pretty though. I've never seen anyone like her before.
Well, if you like her so much, why don't you "Impress" her then. He said, moodly.
Nah, I don't think she even knows I exist. Every time she's around, her eyes are on you...and only you. Anguirus said with a smirk.
Yeah, sure whatever. Can we go? He asked.
Go? We just got here. I thought we could stay around for a few weeks. They don't see me as a threat and if you keep yourself from glowing, they won't see you as one as well.
That's why I don't want to be here. Like every other Herd and Pack we've been in, they always see me as a threat.
Well, if you would stop making that "Mean Face" and talk to them, maybe they would see you like I do. Anguirus said, getting a little firm with his words.
He scoffed while staring up at the hot, clear sky, Ang, you know I don't like being around others.
You like being around me. Anguirus said, trying to prove a point.
We've been together for years now, I'm used to you. He said.
Anguirus sighed, And I'm glad you are, but there's room for more, Goji. You've been alone your whole life, don't you want others to see you for the real Gojira?
The two remained quiet till they heard a male's voice from a distance. Hey Anguirus!
They looked back to see a small group of Mountain kaiju males looking at them with one of them taking a step forward. We're going to spar, wanna join? Bring your friend too if you want.
Anguirus smiled and gave him those pleading eyes. Come on, Goji. Can we stay just for a while, a week tops. They like having us around.
Those watery eyes are not going to fool me again, Ang. He said, giving him a stern look.
Somehow Anguirus made his eyes bigger. If we stay, the next stop we can go will be your choice, deal?
He snorted and looked back at the males that were waiting for them. Alright, but I'm not participating.
Yes you are, now come on. This will be fun. Anguirus said, going behind him and pushing him to walk with his head.
How Anguirus managed to persuade him into things is beyond him. Perhaps it was because he actually likes having the Spiky kaiju around.
0000000000
Just admit it, we're lost. He said, looking around the land they wandered in.
It's been weeks since they left the Mountain Kaiju's herd and although they were told they were welcome back whenever they want, they decided to look for the nearest ocean for him to stretch out his swimming muscles and get a decent meal. Unfortunately from the looks of it, they weren't anywhere near the coast or any source of water if that matters. The land was a sandy wasteland with a few mountains and active volcanoes….and rocks...lots and lots of rocks. No plants or water...just rocks. He exhales, already feeling the sting of the sand particulars in his eyes and gills. That's the flaw in being part water kaiju, the dry air and sand were horrible on his body. Anguirus on the other hand…
Anguirus took a deep breath and exhale with a smile. I love the dry air and no, we are not lost. I know exactly where I am.
Ok, so where are we? He asked, crossing his arms.
Anguirus smiled nervously, No clue. I have no idea where we are.
WHAT!
-BUT, that's when I came up with a brilliant plan, if we can find a Flyer, maybe we can get some sort of direction. Angurius said, crouching down when he towered him.
A Flyer?
Yeah, who is better at directions than a Flyer?
And you think you can just walk up to a Flyer, be friendly and ask for directions just like that?
Yeah, yeah, pretty much.
I hate to break the news to you, Ang, but not all kaijus are as trustworthy as you are and why pick this place to find a Flyer, I haven't seen any living creature around for miles.
We're just here because we're lost, if we keep going, I'm sure we'll find someone. Anguirus said.
Hours passed and the dry heat and burning hot sun was getting to him badly, but Anguirus was still hoping to find someone to guide them. The good thing though, they finally found a very small patch of green land with water. The lake was small and shallow, only half his size so he couldn't swim in it, but it was water so he didn't waste time rushing over there so he could dip his face and neck in it. Oh the water was refreshing despite being hot thanks to the sun. He could actually feel his gills flexing and sucking it in so it could stream through his thirsty body. He let out a small sigh, making bubbles in the water and just laid there.
The sound of Anguirus chuckling made his golden eyes shift up. Don't you dare laugh.
Sorry, but these are rare moments I hardly see of you. So happy and acting like a hatchling. Ang said, before leaning down to get a drink.
Get your own water...He teased before closing her eyes.
Very funny, He said sarcastically, You're very strange. I thought you like sunbathing in the hot sun.
I do, but this is just plain dry heat which feels like I'm being cooked alive. I need moisture and sleep. He said.
They heard a strange squawk in the sky, but his eyes were too dry and stinging to open them.
Hey, a Flyer! See I told you we would find one eventually.
Yay! He said, dully. I'm not moving from this spot.
Fine, sulk or sleep in the puddle of water, I'm going to go talk to the Flyer. I'll be back soon.
I wouldn't go alone, Ang, he might have a Flock with him or her.
From the looks of it landing on top of that Volcano, it might be alone. I'll be fine and you can rest. Everyone wins.
He could hear Ang taking off thanks to his footsteps getting quieter and quieter and soon he was alone and that's how he wanted it. He cracked open his left eye and could see the dry, sandy land in front of him blending into small patches of grass and trees miles away. He rolled over on his side in an attempt to splash water in his eyes to rinse out the sand particulars before rolling back on his stomach. He wanted to sleep, but with Ang gone, he didn't want to take the chance so he just laid there and waited.
00000000
He must've dozed off because the next thing he knew he felt something tapping his head. He opened his eyes to see a happy Anguirus getting right in his face. Ok, you're not going to believe what I just did! The Spike kaiju said with glee.
Out of pure survival instincts, he swatted Ang in the face before picking himself up in a sitting position.
Anguirus took a few steps back and rubbed his nose. What in the world was that for, Goji!
How many times do I have to tell you not to wake me up so suddenly? You know how jumpy I can be. He said, popping his neck. How long was I out?
A few hours give or take. I just got back from talking with the Flyer. He said, while helping him get up from the ground.
Really? It took you that long to get directions to the nearest ocean.
Oh that was just a five minute conversation. After that, he and I started talking. I mean really, really talking.
Him? He asked, raising a brow.
Yeah, poor guy, it looked like it's been awhile since he had a decent conversation with anyone. I asked him about his Flock and apparently, after his Mate died a year ago, he just wanted to be alone.
I don't need his life story, Ang, did he tell you which way to the ocean. He asked.
Yeah, but…um, I have some good news and great news if you like to hear it? Anguirus asked with a nervous smile again.
He stared at his companion. Dammit Ang, what did you do?
Well...I kind of invited him to travel with us.
You did what?!
-He's not that bad of a kaiju plus, I think it would help us if we had a Flyer on our side. He can watch from the sky and inform us if there's any danger-
-You did this without even asking me-
-I figure you would've said no, but I couldn't stand leaving him alone like that and-
-You don't even know him-
-He's a Fire Demon he's young like you and me and no attachments...a bit of a smartass, but so are you so I don't see-
-How can you trust someone that quickly?-
-If it makes you feel better he said he would think about it. He kind of got distracted which brings us to the other surprise-
-What other surprise?
Your Little Beauty Bug is here somewhere.
Oh shit, not her again. You saw her?
Actually, Rodan and I saw her-
Who in the fuck is Rodan?
The Fire Demon, Goji, pay attention when I'm talking, please! Ang shouted.
Don't you dare shout at me-
Alright, I won't, but promise you won't get upset?
About what?
Rodan went after the Beauty Bug because he sees her as a mea-
The two were interrupted when something colorful flew down past them and crashed right into the dirt. The crash was loud and shaky with dust and pebbles flying everywhere. He and Anguirus stood there, waiting for the dust to settle, to see what in the world crashed beside them. When the dirt cleared there was a small carter and out came the female moth who's been stalking him for years, badly injured and weak. She dragged herself out of the hole and just laid there to catch her breath. Her fur and wings had black spots on them, a sign of them being charred by fire and she had a few cuts on her body. Despite all that, she turned her head towards him and gave him a small smile. That was interrupted by a loud screech in the sky. All three looked up and saw the Flyer flying above them with smoke coming out of his large, burning wings.
Don't even think about it, that grub is mine! The Flyer said,
It happened so quickly that even he was stunned, but the next thing he knew, the Flyer flew towards the Bug, he stepped right in front of her and lifted his tail up. He let out a loud, earth shattering roar and swatted the Flyer away with his massive tail. Anguirus's jaw dropped as the Flyer flew back, crashing hard to the ground before tumbling backwards away from them. He landed on his back, but quickly got up and flew sluggishly up into the air again. The Flyer was about to attack again, but he gave him a dirty look, a warning no less, so instead the Flyer made a loud squawk before flying off. He snorted and stared at Anguirus who was still too stunned to say anything. He suddenly heard a soft sigh coming from behind him.
Thank you….
His eyes traveled down to the "Beauty Bug" as Anguirus would call her to see her smiling at him with something he hasn't seen any female do beside his mother: Admiration…...Shit, not something he wanted to deal with especially when he's in a good mood. Hitting that damn thing gave him a little playful pride. He stepped away from her till he was right beside Anguirus who was still stunned out of his mind. He didn't say anything to her as she struggled to pick herself up from the ground. Her eyes still staring deep into his bright gold ones. A small bit of warmth filled his cheeks as the eye staring went on and on. He didn't know what he was waiting for? Everytime the bug comes around it normally ends in a verbal fight of her asking too many questions about him and him just telling her to leave him alone and go away yet she would always come back no matter what. That bothered him because he didn't know why she was following him unless it was to get him back for "Killing" her the first time they met.
I'm Mosura by the way, what's-
He turned his back on her and started to walk away, ignoring the surprised sounds coming from Anguirus and suddenly felt a cold feeling running down his spine. Like he could actually feel a sense of hurt coming from the small, colorful bug. He could hear Anguirus catching up to him, but was wise enough to stay quiet till they were out of range from...Mosura.
What was that all about? Ang asked, no doubt wondering why he decided to protect the Moth all of sudden.
She just caught me in a good mood. He said, plainly. Clearly it wasn't anything else to it.
Walking beside him now, Ang looked at him strangely. Well, that's nice and all, but she looked pretty sad when you walked away.
He shrugged, Who cares? Anyway, what were you saying about some fire creature you met? He didn't care about the fire creature either, but it was better than Ang asking questions about the bug.
Ang perked up as if remembering why they were arguing in the first place. Oh, yeah, Rodan. It's funny now because that was the one you wacked with your tail. He said, pointing at his tail.
He brought his tail up and could see a few patches of burnt scales on it. He had to admit, when he hit the fire creature he didn't think it would burn him. What were those Flyers made of? Him and Ang would see them fly over them a few times over the years, but they were rare appearances. Well, it's settled, he's not joining us then. He said, as a matter of fact.
That's not fair, I already told him he can. Ang said.
Why do we need another kaiju around, Ang? We've been doing fine with just the two of us. He asked. Because seriously, it took him awhile to get used to Ang and his unpredictable personality and now Ang wants to mess that up by bringing in a stranger he only knew for a few hours.
Ang scoffed like he could read his mind. I know that look. Don't be a hypocrite, Goji. I only knew you for a few minutes before becoming friends with you.
That's different! He snapped.
How? Ang asked with a foul look.
He didn't have an example, so instead he turned away and snorted. Blowing a few tiny blue particles into the air. Anguirus laughed.
Stop being so stubborn and turn off that light show on your back. Ang said, before walking in the direction the Flyer flew off too. Now come on, let's go find our newest companion.
He grumbled in protest, but followed Ang no less with his feet dragging on the ground. This is a bad idea…
Trust me for once, Goji. I know what I'm doing.
Next thing he knew he was looking down at the Fire Demon who was rubbing the sore spot on his stomach. The tension was thick; he could actually taste it in the air. He's seen fire demons in the air, but never up close and to him there wasn't much to look at. The male's height barely reached up to his stomach, but it was made up by his massive wings' span. His yellow eyes were dull and tired looking, the same way he looked when he would stare at his reflection in the water. The fire in his wings were nearly burnt out and part of him felt a little offended since the Flyers was a lonely mess like he was when Anguirus found him. He had a feeling the Flyer felt the tension to by the way he wouldn't stop staring at him. Anguirus on the other hand, had this look of nervous glee on his face.
Ok, so I know we got off on the wrong start….Ang said, while he stood in the middle of the two…
Wrong start? The Brute hit me in the stomach. It cost me a meal. Food I haven't seen in weeks. The Flyer said.
He raised a brow. Did you just call me a Brute?
Did I stutter? The Flyer asked.
He turned his attention to Anguirus, Are you sure you want him around? He asked.
Yes, I think it would be great to add new kaijus to our group. Ang said, smiling. So how about we have a little introduction? Goji, this is Rodan and Rodan, I would like you to meet Gojira.
The two stared at each other with the same annoying, moody look. He could literally see the sweat forming on Ang's face from the tension and even preparing himself to step between them in case he or the Fire bird attacked. Now, it wasn't a surprise to him to feel this way towards a strange kaijus, he's just very anti-social, but will drop his guard a little just to please Anguirus since that was the only thing his friend wanted on their travels. To Mingle, but this Flyer here, he didn't know why, but something about Rodan just didn't sit right with him. Maybe it was the poor attitude he was portraying or maybe it was the instinct name calling he did...seriously, he's been called worse things, but being called a Brute? He didn't know why, but that felt like a low hit between the-
So the Lone Lizard has a name? Gojira? Odd…. Rodan said.
He raised a brow. You know me? He asked.
Tsk, everyone knows you. I mean it's not that hard to miss a lone, fat Lizard kaiju roaming around the lands. What I don't get is what's the big deal about you? So what if you glow and throw up blue stuff, you don't look that scary.
Anguirus chuckled as a way to ease the tension. That's Goji for you. He may look all tough and rough, but he's actually a big softy once you get to know him. Ang said, while giving him a playful hit on his leg.
Shut up, Anguirus. He said without taking his eyes off Rodan. And I don't "Throw up" blue stuff, it's a beam, you idiot. And be glad, it's hard to use or else I would have disintegrated your head by now.
Goji...please don't- Ang started only to get interrupted.
Ha! I like to see you try because as soon as I get up into the sky, I'll be gone before you could move that fat-ass of yours, Buddy.
His plates started to glow in anger and took a few steps forward till his shadow covered the Fire Demon's body. Still Rodan didn't show any fear, he was more annoyed than anything. The only one who looked nervous was Anguirus. Bird, you do not want to piss me off. You're already on my Spit List for attacking the Bug back there.
Rodan's head perked up a bit from the mention of Mosura. Oh I see... He said slyly. I didn't know I was crossing personal territory. I didn't expect you to be one of "Those" kaijus?
He felt warmth in his cheeks again, but figured it was from anger and not embarrassment. No, I'm not, she's just some silly little fool flying around so there's no need for her to be some Asshole's meal.
Riiiiight. So she's up for grabs in case I get hungry again?
He was about to strike when Ang got in the way by placing his paws on his stomach to stop him. Goji, come on, he was just joking. Ang said, pushing him away to give them space.
He's not joining us, Ang and that's final.
Just give him a chance. He needs companionship just like you did.
You said it yourself, he doesn't want to travel with us, so why keep pushing it.
I said, he was thinking about it and-
Rodan landed on top of Anguirus' back, skillfully making sure not to stab his feet on Ang's spike and smirked, And I'll be glad to join. I figure with Anguirus having to tolerate you every single day it's no wonder he needs a more "Positive" kaiju around here. Am I right, Goji?
Do. NOT. Call me that. He sneered.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, Rodan said, waving him off before looking down at Anguirus. So who's hungry? I know I am since my last meal was taken away. Though, how was I supposed to know it was my newest travel buddy's girlfriend?
She's not my-
I think we all could use a meal. I'm sure we will all feel better once we get some food in our bellies. Ang said, nervously. So Rodan, anyway you can point us to the nearest ocean for some sea creatures. It's Goji's turn to pick the place.
Rodan tapped his beak. Yes, I know where to go, but it's like a two day walk from here. There's a Sloth herd closer by if you can't wait that long, but the fur makes it hard to eat them.
I'm sure we can wait till we get to the ocean. Ang said, smiling.
Rodan shrugged, Alright, follow me then and try to keep up. He said, before flying up into the sky, leaving behind a cloud of smoke and embers.
He stood there, staring up at the sky while Ang coughed from the smoke. I hate him. He said, plain and simple.
It was one misstep, he didn't know there's something going on with you and..what was her name again.
That's not the reason, I just don't like the guy! He said, with his plates glowing.
Give him a chance. Who knows, you two could be the best of friends….
Everything started to go black with Anguirus slowly disappearing into the background. His eyes grew big from seeing his companion turn into dust though it would be less painful than the other way he passed away. He reaches out with his claws in an attempt to grab him, a pitiful way to save his companion from disappearing out of his life again only to grab empty air.
No, don't go….I need you…. Nothing was ever the same after you died…..
He stood there, alone in the dark, hearing Anguirus echoing that last sentence over and over again.
Best of friends? He questioned out loud. Was his companion blind or just so positive that him and Rodan would meet halfway that he just ignored all the fights and blow ups he had with the fire demon? It was one of those questions he wanted to figure out before Ang's death. He lowered his head, hearing the sounds of water crashing against his body as he started to stir in his sleep, and felt a sense of anger and disappointment.
What would Anguirus think of him or the Bird if that mattered if he saw what transpired after his death. How Rodan blamed him for letting the False King kill thier companion in cold blood. How they went their separate ways and haven't spoken till the False King's awakening and defeat. When the Bird went after something very precious to him.
He can still remember the pure rage and jealousy on Rodan's face while he dug his claws deep into his gills and the taste of blood in his mouth.
The look of tears pouring down Mosura's face when he confronted her.
It made him wonder if Anguirus was still around, would it have gotten as bad as it did?
He heard a loud splash in the background causing his eyes to snap open….

Behemoth could feel his heart pounding harder and harder by the second. The sun was coming up and there was still no sign of Rodan. He couldn't believe his companion could be that...well...not to sound rude...stupid? It's not that he didn't trust Rodan, he was positive Rodan wouldn't hurt the Prince, but this...the King is not going to be happy about this. Hell, this could be the tipping point to down right snapping his companion's neck and that's if the King shows mercy. His eyes darted over to the King who was still sleeping underwater, his back plates moving up and down from the King's calm breathing before shifting his eyes up at the morning sky.
Rodan, where are you? He whispered.
He sighed, wishing he had did something more to keep Rodan from taking off like that. He shook his head, same old Rodan...what is it about him and always trying to piss off the King like that? He thought to himself about this situation. The King made it very clear if he was going to be Rodan's companion, it was his job to watch him and make sure he stays out of trouble. Rodan's behind wasn't the only one on line here.
He quickly snapped out of his thoughts when he saw a small red-orange dot coming towards him. At first he was happy only to have his heart skip a beat when the King started to stir. Swallowing the large, painful lump in his throat, he slowly crept his way into the water to make sure he didn't make a single sound that would wake up the Well-known grumpy King. He looked back up to see the red-orange dot shaping into a pair of glowing wings with Rodan's face shining thank to the morning sun. As he got closer he could see the young Prince calmly sleeping in Rodan's large talons. Rodan flew downwards til he was hovering over the deep part of the ocean, making sure not to go anywhere near the shoreline. He let out a huge yawn and gave Behemoth a smug smile.
Morning. He said, not even caring to keep his voice down.
Behemoth nervously took a few more steps in the water till it was right up to his chest and looked up at Rodan. Keep your voice down. He whispered.
Rodan couldn't help, but chuckle a little. Well, look at you, coming into the deep end without Scylla escorting you.
Rodan, do not change the subject. Where were you? You have me up all night worrying about you. How was I going to explain the Prince's whereabouts if the King woke up last night. He angrily whispered.
Relax Behemoth, don't have a heart attack. The Brute is a deep sleeper. It will take a weapon from those Pests to wake him up. Rodan said with such confidence.
I'm about to if you don't let the Prince go and leave this moment. Behemoth said, trying not to panic.
The King started to stir a bit by the way his back was moving and the way his plates started to glow.
He's starting to wake up. Behemoth said with big eyes.
Rodan snorted and started to wiggle his legs to wake up the little Prince. The Prince started to squirm before letting out a small yawn as his eyes began to open. Dull at first, but once his eyes were fully open, his blue color started to glow bright as like Sire's plates. He blinked before looking up at Rodan with a curious face.
Hey Brat, we're back. He said, flying a bit higher before Behemoth could snatch him.
Rodan, this isn't funny. Put him down.
Can I at least say good-bye to the little brat. He asked, a little annoyed.
The King is waking up…
Rodan flew a little higher for privacy, getting a little thrill squeak from the Prince. Well, I hope you had fun, kid. I know I did, but I have a feeling this might be the only time for us to hang out.
The Prince gave him a sad look and pointed down at his Sire. From the looks of it, he was trying to tell him something, but Rodan didn't have the time to figure it out.
Also if I were you and you don't want to get me and Behemoth down there in trouble, we should keep this little night outing our little Secret. Do you get what I am saying?
Azure hesitated at first, but nodded no less.
Rodan!
Rodan's eyes darted over at the King whose tail started to move followed by his large legs uncurling to stretch out. Sorry Kid, it's a good thing you can swim. With that, he releases Azure and Behemoth clenches his teeth as he watch the young Prince fall from the sky and crash right into the ocean. Behemoth's jaw dropped and was about to race over to the spot where Azure landed when the King's head popped out of the water before picking himself up into a sitting position.
Rodan was long gone, leaving behind a faded trail of smoke. He heard a loud yawn followed by a snort and after a few seconds, he heard the King speak. Behemoth, where's Azure?
Azure has yet to return to the surface, but he had to hide his nervousness so the King won't suspect anything. He turned around to see the King getting up from his sleepy spot and rolled his neck before shaking his head to help him wake up faster. Behemoth swallowed, My King, Good morning…..The King looked around the land before making eye contact with Behemoth….I hope you slept well?
The King slowly walked over to Behemoth while looking around at the same time.
They always say a good night's sleep makes the day brighter and happier.
Behemoth…
In fact it's like my dear Scylla would say-
Why are you stalling from answering my question?
Behemoth swallowed, And what question would that be? He asked, nervously. Thanking Nature for his fur to hide the sweat he was feeling.
The King stayed quiet, but boy if looks could kill, Behemoth would be dead ten times over right now. Where's Azure?
The Prince?! Oh yes, the Prince...now you see the funny story is that...well…
You said you would look after him while I slept...right?
Yes...I did.
The King went right in his face. Then where is he?
The little one….woke up early and...he wanted to go swimming...so I let him...and...He might have gone out a little too far for me to see him…
You let him swim out in the ocean ALONE! The King shouted.
Luck was on Behemoth's side this morning when the King let out a loud yelp and quickly lifted his tail up to see Azure dangling on it. (Got you Si-ie) Azure said, biting his tail even harder.
Oh look, he was just waiting under water for a sneak attack. How's that for a funny moment in the morning. Behemoth said, nervously. Feeling his pounding heart slowly beating back to normal.
The King snorted, Azure let go of my tail. How many times do I have to tell you, that's not something you play with. He said, while bringing his tail up to his back so Azure could slip off. Azure didn't waste time settling in between his back plates and using them to climb up to his shoulders. A trick he's seen his mother do from time to time.
(Did you sleep, Si-ie?) Azure asked with a big smile on his face.
Yes, and I hope you didn't give Behemoth a hard night if you're up this early.
Azure shook his head only to get interrupted by Behemoth, He did just fine. Nothing, but sleep. Yup, sleep. It sure brings back the good old days when my cubs were young, I think I went a whole year or so before I was able to sleep through the night with my first cub and after the second one, well that's another whole story and-
-We're going to head out if that's alright with you. He said, not to be rude for the interruption, but he really didn't want to get the Chatterbox going again.
Yes, yes, of course. Don't want to keep you two from your busy day. So what's on today's mission?
The King blinked, remembering what the Stupid Squid told him the other day. Well, I figure I head over to Methuselah so he can meet the young Prince then the Queen told me that another Kaiju has awakened.
Wonderful, it's about time the rest of them begin to wake up. I know most of them either went back to sleep or just stayed hidden to wean off the False King's spell, but surely enough time has passed for them to emerge again. Behemoth said, with a big nervous smile.
They suddenly heard a loud squawk and the King looked up at the sky and started to growl. Even though there's thick clouds in the air, he could still see a faded color of orange and red flying around. The Bird was back and no doubt waiting for him to leave so he could come home. From the looks of it, the Bird's present was also making the Chatterbox nervous so he might as well leave so there won't be any trouble.
Yeah, though this kaiju and I have some bad history so I'm not really looking forward to it. The King said, taking off in the direction to Methuselah's home.
I see, well, remember, no matter what happens let's be mature about it. Behemoth said, bowing to the King and Prince as they walked past him.
Yeah, yeah. I get enough lectures about that from the Queen. Thanks for the visit, Behemoth.
So long and take care, Little Prince.
Azure stared back at Behemoth before looking up at the sky in hopes to see the Funny Bird again before it's too late. Sadly, he didn't and he huffed from the disappointment. What a strange night. Behemoth didn't move from his spot till he was sure the King was out of sight and hearing before exhaling tiredly. That was a close one. His eyes narrowed when Rodan landed by the shoreline and folded his wings in.
That was fun. Rodan said with such confidence only to have it poof out when he saw Behemoth's shadow casting over him. He turned around to see his companion staring down at him with a frustrating face. Wait, wait, before you hit me let-
What were you thinking?! Behemoth shouted, which was a rare moment to see for Rodan. Of all the crazy stunts to pull, Rodan. Taking the Prince without the King's knowledge.
Hey, it's not like I kidnapped the Brat. He wanted to go flying and we just lost track of time. He had fun or I think he did? I'm not sure since he couldn't talk, but he did stare a lot while we were eating a midnight snack and-
Rodan, do you have any idea how dangerous your little night outing could've been if the King found out?
Dangerous?! Rodan said, a little surprised by the word. Like in how? Dangerous as if he wouldn't be safe around me?
Behemoth sighed, You know that's not what I meant. You're a lot of things, but I know you wouldn't do anything to harm the Queen's hatchling. He said, using the Queen as an example instead of the King. Rodan tends to be a little less aggressive if the Queen was mentioned. Can we please be serious about this? You are already on very thin ice with our King-
He won't find out. The kid doesn't look like a squealer to me.
That's not the point! Is this some sort of game to you? To see how far you can push the King's patience till he finally snaps. You do know Queen is not going to be there to protect you every time you mess up!
Don't bring her into this! Rodan sneered. And I don't care what the King thinks of me or if I'm pushing my luck with his patience. He doesn't matter to me! Besides, it was only one outing, it's not going to happen again. He has no right to bitch about it. He has it all, he has the world as his home, he rules everyone, he has his Queen and his heir so me taking his son out shouldn't piss him off. Rodan grumbled before turning away from Behemoth to pout. His wings spewing out black smoke by the second. The sense of depression and jealousy coming from his companion made Behemoth shake his head.
Oh Rodan...I know it's hard, but…
No, you don't…
...She made her choice….and I know you can't forget the past, Rodan, but she's happy with him and her heir…
Rodan took a deep breath and let it out slowly…..I miss her, Behemoth.
She's not going to see you that way again….
I'm not even talking about that….I just miss her. We were friends, you know, before everything went downhill, we were friends. I miss talking to her and the friendship we used to have. We could talk for hours and never get bored and knew how to cheer each other up. The last time I saw her was when I met the heir for the first time and it was nice. I'm not going to lie. It was nice just chatting with her again and seeing her smile. I don't know, I saw the same smile in the Prince among other things.
Behemoth sighed and shifted his claws in the dirt. Rodan...you didn't tell him anything, did you?
Rodan turned around to face him. What do you mean?
Well...your involvement with his parents?
Now why in the world would I do that? Rodan asked, offended.
To cause trouble for one and two, you said it before if it wasn't for "Unfortunate Events" the Prince would've been your-
Stop, we are not crossing that line and No, I didn't tell him anything. Just a lot of small talk, that's it. More like one-sided since he can't speak anyway.
Oh good, I was a little worried there. Behemoth said.
Rodan shook his head, Damn Behemoth, I wish you would give me a little more credit than that.
I swear my Fellow, you give me the worst headaches. Behemoth grumbled, Let's just be glad, the King didn't suspect anything. From the looks of it, The King thought the Prince was playing hide and seek. He said, before lying down on the ground. Just don't do that again, please. My old age can't take the stress.
Oh shut it, Behemoth. Now you're just overreacting. Rodan said, walking over to Behemoth and sitting down next to him. He leaned his back against the Sloth's side and let out a big yawn. I don't know about you, but I could use some sleep.
I don't know how you can sleep after the stunt you pulled.
Easy, I just closed my eyes and there I go off to dreamland. Rodan said, shifting a bit till he was nearly buried in Behemoth's coarse fur. He let out a soft snort and was about to doze off when something nagged him. By the way, where did the Brute go anyway?
Behemoth closed his eyes and relaxed so he could enjoy the morning sun soaking into his fur. Off to Methuselah's turf so the Prince can meet him.
Rodan started to chuckle. He's not going to like what he sees if the Muto is still over there.
Behemoth's eyes snapped open.

~I'll keep you my dirty little secret
Don't tell anyone or you'll be just another regret
Just another regret, hope that you can keep it
My dirty little secret, who has to know?...~
It was the fourth yawn in a row when he took notice of his Heir. Shifting his eyes towards his shoulder, Azure was no longer there, but safely fastened between his much larger backplates while trying his hardest to stay awake. Even the connection between them felt a little muggy which would only occur if the brat didn't get much sleep. The other thing he felt was the brat being nervous about something and didn't know how to address it.
You're awfully tired this morning. Did you keep the Chatterbox up all night? He asked while continuing his way to Methuselah's home.
Azure yawned again. (No, I went flying…)
He couldn't help, but smirk. Hatchlings and their crazy dreams and imagination. Oh really?
Azure nodded. (I was up in the sky...I touch those white puffy things and saw so many stars...it was nice)
That sounded like a very funny dream you had. He said.
(...Si-ie…?)
What?
Azure started to fiddle his nails, (Who are we meeting next?)
Oh, it's a Mountain Kaiju I know personally. He used to work with your Sire when we were fighting off Parasites millions of years ago.
(Oh, is he...like Chatty Box?)
He shook his head. No….he's different. Old as dirt, but tough like thorns. Me and him used to spar a lot when I was younger. If it was a Claw on Claw combat he would beat me without breaking a sweat most of the time.
(So...he's stronger than you)
That made him stop dead in his tracks and he couldn't help, but laugh, nearly knocking Azure off in the process. Instead, the Prince slipped between his giant plates till he was right down on his tail. That's a good one, Azure. Nobody is stronger than me, that's why I'm the one they call the King. He said. His voice dripping with ego his Queen would warn him about. He looked down at his tail to see his son staring at him with a confused face. What? Can a male be confident with himself? He asked.
Azure tilted his head and didn't know what to say. Of course the brat wouldn't understand, he was still too young to know why he was on top of the food chain and why everyone around here shows fear and respect towards him. Azure would know eventually especially if he inherit the same powers he got from his Sire. Give it another hundred years or so, but he will get them no less. He can't wait till that day, at least he knows Azure won't have to face the weirdness and aches and pains of growing up alone.
(Si-ie?)
He snapped out of his thoughts. Yes, what now?
Again, Azure's claws started to fiddle. (Are we going...to meet...Funny Bird?)
If he was the False King, he was sure the land and sky around them would have turned dark and stormy. Good thing for him, he knew how to keep a firm face, a great way to trick rivals and opponents from guessing his mood and moves, but Azure was like his mother, his senses and connection could see right through him like clear water. Azure flinched from the sharp pain he felt in his head.
(Sorry…)
He didn't mean to cause pain, the question threw him off guard that's all. Why? He asked, trying to stay calm. Don't want to scare the Heir with his known dark temper.
(Just...asking..) Azure asked while getting off his large tail. Staring at the grass like he just did something wrong.
No. As far as "Funny Bird" is concerned, the more he stays away from me and you, the better off we will all be. He said.
(Why?)
Why what? He asked.
Azure's feet started to shuffle in the dirt. (What's wrong with Funny Bird?)
A Lot of things that's why I don't like him around. He said, plain and simple.
(Mama likes him….just like she likes Squid.)
Staying calm, he stared at his son and didn't know whether to answer that or not. As if sensing he said the wrong thing, Azure swallowed and started to shake from his cold demeanor. He snorted. Your Mother likes everyone and everything. He said as calmly as possible. Which was true and hopefully that was what Azure was implying.
(But you don't?)
No.
(Why?)
We are not discussing it and you will not bring up the bird again. Am I clear? He said, raising his voice.
Azure nodded quickly before shifting his eyes to the ground again. Something caught his eye though. The look Azure made and the way he would turn his head to avoid looking at him was the same way Mosura would do when she's trying to hide something from him. He could see what was going on in his son's head, but that would only leave his thoughts wide open for Azure to see as well and right now, he did not want him to see anything. If it was something bad, Azure would tell him, most likely he did something mischievous around Behemoth's watch and didn't want to get in trouble. Whatever, it wasn't like he was hurt or anything and he wouldn't expect anything less from an active, male hatchling.
Hey, forget about Funny Bird. This new kaiju we're going to meet is much better than some squawking Pain in the Rear. He said, playfully caressing Azure's face with the tip of his tail.
Azure giggled and tried to swipe his tail away. Good, he got the boy to smile now. (Are we almost there?)
It's still a little far away. Do you want to climb on my tail again?
Azure shook his head and started to look around this whole new land. Definitely different from what he grew up around at their island home. For one thing, the land looks like it went on and on with no ocean in sight. One side there was a thick lush jungle known as the Amazon Forest, (at least that is what his Queen told him) and on the other side he could see a grassy flat ground with Mountains in the background. There were Little birds flying all over the place and the air had a fresh grass scent instead of the Ocean's smell. (Explore?)
He shook his head, Fine, just don't fall behind. He said, walking once again with Azure following him.
When they were getting closer, he started to get a very eerie feeling and that usually meant something weird or awful was about to happen. He thought about what Scylla told her, how Methuselah was having some trouble with the Muto lately. Trouble...and that's the only way he would put it because despite what Scylla said, he's still having a hard time believing Meth would get involved with a parasite, let alone with one that was very disturbed in his opinion. The one that put him through a lot of shit and tried to convince him to sleep with her. He thought about the Queen and the little spat they had a while back. She came home after visiting Scylla and looking a little worn down more than unusual and her fur was a little rough up as well. It wasn't till she was close enough when he saw little smudges of blood on her fur and the stench of the parasite coming off of her. He demanded to know if she got into another fight with the Muto and why Scylla would allow that to happen. She told him there was no fight, she and Scylla were talking and the Muto happened to come home, battered and bruised, and after some confrontation between them, the Muto ended up passing out due to blood loss. She never specified how the Muto got those words (mainly because he didn't care for details), but Scylla begged his Queen to heal the Parasite, even going as far as healing the eye wound he gave her as punishment. He was appalled at first on why she did that, but she said it was a favor for Scylla and since the Squid did so much for her, she figured she would return the favor. Still, he didn't like it, stating it better not happen again since that was her life she was wasting on that Thing and with no egg still to fall back on, she needed to be careful. And she calls him reckless when she's willing to give up her life to heal. Of all the nerves of the Squid, she's getting way too close to the Muto if she went THAT far to save her life. Now with the new info of Methuselah being around the Muto, it all makes sense where she got those wounds from and why the bird was still around. Stupid parasite got distracted by a pair of horns and what Methuselah had between his legs.
Still even if the horny beast was trying to go after the Mountain Kaiju, there was no way Meth would allow it. Scylla said it herself that the Muto would come home beaten and wounded for trying to seduce the male yet….apparently the Squid also said she and the Chatterbox caught them once cuddling...and if that's the case we're they doing the deed as well? His eyes darted behind him to see if Azure, who was trying to catch tiny birds in the air with his mouth, was keeping up with him. Azure jumped up to grab one only to fall flat on his face and just laid there.
He rolled his eyes, Azure, get up. He said.
Azure picked himself up and spit out a large mass of grass and dirt. (Gross)
He sighed and used his tail to pick the hatchling up before giving him a small swat on the bottom to get him going. Azure let out a small growl before catching up to him and walking next to him side by side. They walked in silence, a comfortable silence though, with each of them looking at each other back and forth. He can tell Azure was trying to make him smile or laugh to pass the time. Although being significantly taller than his young Heir, he could still hear the little one making noises and filling the air with giggles. The Prince laughs like his mother, even going as far as covering his mouth like she does to hide his teeth while his eyes glow brightly.
~When we live such fragile lives
It's the best way we survive
I go around a time or two
Just to waste my time with you
Tell me all that you've thrown away
Find out games you don't wanna play
You are the only one
That needs to know….~
His mood was suddenly shaken when the scent of blood filled his nose and he stopped when he came across disturbed dirt, red stained grass and claw marks in the ground. Using his tail, he wrapped it around Azure slowly so he wouldn't frighten the Prince and push him behind him.
(Si-ie?)
Wait here. He said, looking at the Prince.
Azure gulped, but nodded no less. Concern at first till he spotted a small creature slithering in the grass and decided to follow it. Silly boy, but at least it will distract him for the time being while he investigates the bloody site. He slowly walks forward, trying so hard not to step in blood or the giant craters in the ground. A sign someone got tossed around a few times in a heated battle. The stench of the parasite was getting stronger as well as the scent of Methuselah. It wasn't long till he spotted Methuselah lying down on his side with his mountain back facing him. There were blood spots on Meth's body and for a moment he thought the mountain kaiju was out cold from blood loss till he saw Meth's chest rising up and down from his calm breathing. As he took a few steps closer, Meth started to shift a bit thanks to the vibrations of his footsteps. His eyes widened when he saw a pair of black arms snaking their way around Meth's back. He couldn't believe it, not in a million years, but right there on the ground Methuselah was sleeping with the Muto cuddled up against him with a rather giddy smile on her face despite being covered in blood and wounds. He stopped when he was standing right above the rather awkward pair and stared down at them with this angry, flabbergasted yet slightly amused feeling building up. His shadow caused Meth to stir again in his sleep, making a scrunched up face while letting out a painful groan. He could kick them to wake them up, but that's the last thing you want to do when it comes to waking up someone like Meth. Survival mode will take over and Meth will attack him without even thinking. Besides, he might get a better explanation out of Meth if he let him gradually wake up and see him waiting.
As if finally sensing his present, Meth's eyes started to open and slowly looked up to see him staring down at him. No doubt, could see the disapproval look written all over his face. Meth blinked a few times and suddenly smacked his lips together like he was trying to wipe off the blood stains on his teeth.
The old Bastard must've been speechless because he didn't say a single word not even a surprised sound. He leaned down a bit and crossed his arms and just waited for Meth to say something. Anything. He couldn't believe it. He didn't want to believe it, but it was all laid out to him and he could smell it in the air. Still Meth didn't say anything, but the staring grew more tense. He snorted while his tail swished back and forth. The sound of Azure playing could be heard in the background which shows just how tense and quiet it was right now.
Fine if Meth wasn't going to speak first, he might as well. Care to explain yourself?
Now Meth looked confused from what he said only to stiffen when he felt the Muto holding him tighter to the point she was burying her face in the crook of his neck and giving him a small huff of warm breath. Meth's eyes shifted over to the Muto then back at him. Shocked as if he didn't realize Muto was that close to him, he finally spoke.
….Damn…. Methuselah said. His voice a little hoarse from Kaiju knows what.
He was about to say something for such a flimsy explanation, but the Muto beat him to it.
Mmm, You got that right…..The Muto said in her sleep….Best angry sex so far, Meth…
Meth swallowed and started to shake the Muto. Barb….Barb...wake up…
The Muto groaned and tightened her hold on Methuselah and let out a small giggle. Sleep….
Wake up….Methuselah said, trying to pry her arms off of his body without taking his eyes off his.
He stood there waiting, but his patience was growing very thin. He snorted and bared his teeth, What the hell is going on Methuselah!
Meth shoved the Muto off of him causing her to tumble backwards and falling hard on her back. She quickly sat up to rub the dirt and sleep out of her eyes. The bite marks all over her shoulders and neck cracked and began to bleed. Not the nicest way I wanted to wake up, Pebbles, but….She lifted her head up to see him staring at her with pure anger. The Muto flinched as her eyes shifted from him to Methuselah then back at him again only to smirk a little. You know I had a dream that started out like this and-
My King, what are you doing here! Methuselah asked, getting up in a sitting position.
He quickly looked away in disgust when he saw more parts of Methuselah than he wanted to see. Don't change to subject, Meth and for kaiju sake, control yourself or at least cover up!
I can explain! Methuselah shouted, There is an explanation for this.
He smacked the Mountain Kaiju in the face with his tail, but Meth managed to keep himself from falling to the ground. A thin trail of blood leaked from Meth's mouth, but the male was smart enough not to retaliate. He growled. You and I fought side by side long ago…
You wouldn't understand….Methuselah shouted while wiping the blood away from his mouth.
…..you told me yourself you hated parasites…
….I was sleeping, minding my own business and the next thing I heard was Rodan and Behemoth fighting and yelling with Barb….
…You're the one who tracked me down to help me get rid of them once and for all and to kill the Prime….!
...Behemoth didn't want blood shed so I had to help him keep her and Rodan apart…
….Will you stop talking over me! He shouted with his plates glowing bright.
...You're the one who wanted an explanation! Meth shouted back.
….I watched you take great pride taking down those parasites one by one. You would rip off the males' wings and smash those females' heads in with your claws!
The Muto laughed. Oh trust me, King, he still knows how to smash-
Barb, shut up! Methuselah shouted back, blushing deep red.
….I can't believe the Squid was right about this. After everything I find you….
….She just popped out of nowhere on my turf in the middle of the night trying to seduce me and we fought. I told her over and over again I wasn't going to bend to her demands
….screwing around with one. Dammit, Meth, you said you had standards, what in the world would make you lie with her!?
He lost a Bet. The Muto said calmly while looking at a deep bite mark on her arm.
All went quiet with Methuselah lowering his head down in pure embarrassment. The sound of crickets could be heard in the background from the sudden silence. He quickly looks back to see Azure sitting there, watching them as they argue without a clue what's going on. He needed to stay calm, he did not want Azure to see anything grim at a young age…yet, knowing the Muto and her rather skillful way to piss kaijus off, he can't promise anything. What does she mean, you lost a bet? What the hell did you Bet on?
Meth took a deep breath. She wouldn't leave me alone….so I bargained with her. One fight, if I win, she would go away and never bother me again...I was so confident I was going to win.
But he didn't...The Muto said with a smirk.
You cheated! Methuselah shouted back at her.
You're surprised that she would use trickery?! He shouted at the Mountain kaiju.
So what if I had to use tricks, I ended up winning and got a wild night out of it. The Muto said, then pointed at him. Feel free to feel jealous, King, that could've been you. Getting a good thrill and begging for more.
Meth did not looked pleased from her remark and he didn't like the fact Meth wasn't pleased. Was Meth jealous? And so why would he? His plates and eyes started to glow so bright that it made Meth take a step back and he could feel his son flinching from seeing his power build in him. He took a hard step towards the Muto, making the ground shake violently and let the steam of his atomic breath seep out of his nose and teeth. I'm done with you and that filthy, smartass mouth of yours.
The Muto's smirk quickly disappeared and she picked herself up from her seating position.
I told you long ago, the only reason I was letting you live was because there was no way you could breed without a male. He said, walking towards her.
She started to growl. Don't you come near me! If you lay one claw on me I'll spill the truth about our little deal with Rodan to the Bug Queen! I don't care if she believes me or not, but it will put doubt in her.
Yeah and you couldn't even do that job right. He's still flying around my fucking home!
Hey, I almost had him! It's not my fault Pebbles and the Pile of Fur got in the way! Either way I don't think your Little Queen is going to like knowing you tried to have her Lover killed.
The word Lover caused him to tackle her backwards. He could hear Methuselah's voice in the background shouting at him to stop, but he was compelled to shut the Muto's mouth once and for all. She fell on her back and tried to get up only to have him pin her down with his foot. She struggled and hissed at him.
Get off me! Why am I getting punished!? Smack Pebbles in the face again. He's the one not being careful! Remember it takes two to create hatchlings!
My King! Can we just talk this out! Methuselah shouted.
I've been with his kind before and never got eggs and trust me- Her eyes started to glow bright as she began to panic from him charging his beam- I hate hatchlings, I'm just in it for the fun. I even killed my own so I wouldn't HAVE TO DEAL WITH-
STOP!
He was suddenly tackled on his side, feeling the points of Meth's horn stabbing him on his thick leg and pushed harshly away from the parasite. He took a few wobbly steps back before regaining his balance and looked over at the parasite in disbelief. Right between them, Methuselah stood there in his fighting posture while giving the Muto time to pick herself up to collect her thoughts. The panic and fear he was feeling from Azure skyrocket and made his head hurt, but he ignored it. He looked down at the two holes in his legs, they weren't deep, but still the one male he respected made him bleed.
You just made a very terrible mistake. He sneered.
My King..
Why are you protecting her! You dare attack me to protect a Parasite.
I'm not protecting her! I'm preventing you from doing anything violent in front of the young Prince. Do you really want him to see you kill over nothing! What would the Queen think if you broke that "No Killing" rule.
Don't you dare lecture me! This wouldn't even be an issue if it wasn't for your ego and betting your body with her! Even if you did lose, I can't believe you went through with it!
Again I thought I was going to win-
That doesn't matter you still slept-
It won't happen again. You have my word. Methuselah said slowly, as a way to try to calm him down.
Get out of my way and I'll make sure it won't! She's dangerous.
I'm dangerous!? You attack me. I was just having fun. The Muto said. If you ask me, it's not fair that only you are allowed to have sex around here and-
Barb, will you shut your mouth! Methuselah screamed.
Don't tell me to shut up! And that whole "never going to happen again" yeah, I heard that one before. Maybe I should tell our King just how many times you and I-
He powered up and blasted the pair with his beam before the Muto could say another word. Luckily for them, they managed to duck so it only scorched the top of their backs. Some of Methuselah's trees caught on fire and there was a shallow burnt mark on the Muto's spikes.
Methuselah stayed calm. My King….think about the Prince. He said again.
He turned his attention over to Azure again and could see the worry look on the young Heir's face. If things were different, if he was born way back then, it would be a lesson learned on how to kill Parasites since they were the worst thing to ever exist next to the False King, but as angry as he was, Methuselah had a point. It was still too soon for Azure to see death….his parents died when he was around Azure's age and never recovered from it. Damn him and her for losing control of the situation. He took a deep breath and glared at the Muto.
Leave….He said, coldly, that it actually made Methuselah nervous.
The Muto made a small tssk sound. Alright, I see you two need to talk so I'll leave. And just to be a Bitch, she went up to Methuselah and surprised him by giving him a quick lick on cheek. Thanks for the great sex, Loser. She smirked.
Without missing a beat, Methuselah shoved her away. Knock it off and Leave before you get yourself killed.
Fine, I'll leave and might as well check out Pretty Eyes on my way out. She said, walking over to Azure.
He was right in front of her before she could get any closer to the Prince. His tail instinctively wrapped itself around Azure for protection. Go another way. I already told you, you will not go near him. He growled.
She shrugged and turned around to walk away from him. Go easy on him, Fatass, I would hate to lose someone as "Talented" as he is.
GET OUT! He roared.
They waited in silence till he was sure the Muto was gone and not just lingering from the distance before walking over to Methuselah with Azure coiled up in his tail. Methuselah stood there, not moving a single muscle while keeping his head down from knowing he was about to pay dearly for intervening his confrontation with the Muto. The leg now had dry trails of blood going down to his feet. He stood in front of Methuselah and pushed Azure in front of him so he could see the massive kaiju. Still Methuselah didn't move or even had the guts to look at him in the eyes.
Now that the Thing is gone, (though he wanted to call the parasite more colorful names) I believe an introduction is in order. So let's make this quick, Azure, this giant being is Methuselah, a mountain kaiju I used to know back then. Methuselah, this is Prince Azure and future King.
Meth didn't hesitate to bow at the Prince while Azure over and grabbed Meth's right horn with his tiny claws. (You have horns like Chatty Box)
Methuselah gently shakes his head, No offense little one, I don't like being around younglings so please don't touch my horns. He said, causing Azure to let go and back away with disappointment on his face. Meth cleared his throat, My King about the parasite.
No, not now. We should give the Prince some entertainment and since you tackle me, I accept your challenge. No killing or anything like that, but I think it would be great to see his Sire fight a true opponent.
I deserve punishment so I won't fight back. Meth said, holding his head up high with his eyes closed.
The Male had pride and honor and he always respected that about him. Hell, he can still remember asking Methuselah not to leave after their battles with the Muto population. He was a very loyal alley, almost taking Anguirus' spot if it wasn't for the fact Methuselah didn't like attaching himself to others on a personal level (not that he blamed him, but Anguirus just knew how to make kaiju open up to him) But Meth said he had enough of the blood shed and wanted to peace and how could he deny him that since he could relate. Still he was disappointed no less, even more so now after what he just witnessed. I expect you to fight back because I'm not going to take it easy like the last time. You will fight me!
Wouldn't it be easier just to break one of my horns-
Azure, step away so you won't get hurt! He said quickly before reaching down to grab Meth by the horns. In one painful twist, he threw the mountain kaiju to the floor….

~I'll keep you my dirty little secret
Don't tell anyone or you'll be just another regret
(Just another regret, hope you that can keep it)
My dirty little secret, dirty little secret
Dirty little secret, who has to knows
Who has to know?~
~Dirty Little Secret by The All-American Rejects
It was high noon and the sun felt good on his scales and the wetness of his blood on his body actually cooled him down a little. Still, he was hurting and it made him realize how rusty he's been when it came to a true, no-holding-back, brawl. Lying down on his stomach, he could feel Azure crawling on his back and wincing from the sight of his wounds.
(Si-ie)
I'm fine Azure, we were just sparring.
(But you're hurt)
Trust me, I've been in a lot worse situations. And I expect nothing less when it's time to train you.
Azure whined. (Are you sure you're not hurt)
Yeah, I agree with the Prince's whine. You're rusty. Methuselah said, tiredly. In front of him laid Methuselah who was taking care of his own wounds. His snout, mouth and horns were coated in blood and was now sporting a bruised eye. The rest of his body had charred patches and burnt trees thanks to his blue beam. You're relying on your beam way too much again. Your strength and speed has gone down.
What did I say about you lecturing me? He snapped.
Well, you always told me to be honest with you. Methuselah said, I don't know what's worse, you relying on that power too much or Barb's cheap shots.
Who in the hell is Barb? He asked.
Damn, do you not remember any of our names? Who else? Methuselah said, before hissing in pain due to his eye.
Remembering names is the least of my priorities, and you know that. I didn't even know Parasites had names.
Not surprising since it took you months to call me by my real name instead of "Weird Voice." Meth said, rolling his eyes.
He growled and reached back to grab Azure with his teeth. He quickly places the Prince down on the ground and boops him with his large snout. Go explore. I doubt there's anything here that can harm you while me and Methuselah talk.
Azure looked over at Meth before taking off before he could change his mind.
Curious little Lad. I see a lot of the Queen in him. Methuselah said, trying to make small talk. Though I have to say, I'm quite surprised. I thought you didn't like hatchlings.
I didn't say that. I just didn't want them for personal reasons. He said, staring at Meth.
Right, right. Methuselah said then noticed the staring. He huffed, My King, I…
Seriously, what were you thinking? You know as well as I do how fast those Parasites can breed. Is it true what she said? Are you not being careful?
Methuselah blushed. I don't know how to explain it. She's….well...she's….
He sat up and growled. Meth, don't tell me you have feelings for her?
What!? No, I can't stand her. Most of the time she just infuriates me .
Then why are you sleeping with her?!
I don't know. I don't know why. The way we fight tends to lead to something else and I don't know-
Dammit Methuselah, if she has eggs I would have to kill them and that right there will cause conflict within me because that would mean I would have to kill your heirs as well! I've been down that path many times before when I had to kill the False King's offsprings and that drove the mothers insane. But this is different, we know each other and I respect you more than the others, hell that's the reason why I never check up on you because you said you would rather spend your time sleeping. Then you pull this stunt!
I have no interest in breeding, you know that and didn't you hear her when you two were yelling at each other. She hates hatchlings and apparently killed her own. I'm hoping she was just making stuff up, but the way she said I believe her. So if it was possible for her to get eggs, no doubt she will get rid of them before you get a chance.
That just proves how dangerous she is, Meth, and unstable-
I know how to take of myself, King and don't ask for details, but I know how to handle her as well.
He shook his head. You're not going to stop seeing her, are you?
Methuselah sighed and his sudden silence told him what he needed to know.
I hope you know this will end badly no matter what. She already threaten to harm Azure and if she does even you won't be able to protect her
I might not like younglings, but that doesn't mean I'm going to let harm come to them. If she crosses the line like that then so be it. She dug her own grave by then.
He got up, wincing from his injuries, but he'll get over it and grumble. You're a fucking idiot.
Methuselah looked at him grimly, Are we Ok?
He sighed, Honestly, I don't know. Look I trust you when you said you can take care of yourself though I did lose a lot of respect for you.
Join the club, I'm not actually happy with myself either.
Live with that as a punishment, but don't be surprised if things get worse with her being around.
The older kaiju looked at him, I understand, my King.
They remain silent for a bit while he watches Azure touch and sniff different plants around the area. New plants he hasn't seen on their island home. He looks at the plants the same way he looked at water for the first time. Full of curiosity. His mother's side was showing since he doesn't recall ever being that curious when he was that age.
Methuselah cleared his throat. So that day when Barb invaded Behemoth's turf to kill Rodan….you sent her there, didn't you?
He stared at the Mountain Kaiju, And if I did?
Just curious. Apparently she told Rodan that "the King sends his Love" before I stopped her from delivering the final blow. Either way it sure made Rodan suspicious.
He growled at him as a warning not to bring up the Bird.
Don't worry, I'm not going to squeal. Rodan is a big boy, he knew what he was getting into when he crossed that line with you, but I don't get how you could chew me out over the Muto when you made a deal with her in secret.
She was out for blood and told me if she ever had a chance she would harm the Prince, but she would leave him alone if I gave her Rodan's whereabouts. It wasn't that hard to decide.
I don't blame you.
He snorted, I hate to cut this visit short, but I really can't stand looking at you at the moment. The thought of you and the Muto….makes me sick.
Meth frowns, Well I hope with time, you will come back for another sparring match or at least let me help you train the young Lad.
Of course, but for now it's best to keep our distance. Kaiju knows I don't want to see you and her in that position again.
Meth nodded, Keep the Prince safe and I'm sorry this was a rather horrible introduction.
Yeah, me too. He said.
The two looked at each other with Methuselah giving him a bow despite everything that happened. Good old Methuselah, always taking the mature path which was one of the few things he liked about him and the fact he can be an arrogant bastard like him. Watch your back on your next destination. The Mountain Kaiju said.
Oh I will, I have a bird-serpent to see next….
And dealing with his Queen's friends has always been his own personal hell in his opinion….
MQB: that's all for now Dear Readers. I hope you like this chapter.
One thing before I go, but I would like to hear your thoughts on this idea I have. Ever since my friend Frosty told me he could see Methuselah with a Scottish accent, a part of me felt down that I can't type out Scottish slang to make Meth's character more real. I love the idea of him having an accent and a few weeks back, I actually found a website that can translate English to Scottish and I really want to give it a try. The con in this is that I tried out a few sentences and I have to say, the slang is very, very hard to read. I had to read it at least two or three times to understand it still I think it would really bring Meth's character out more. I'm planning on testing it out in "Purple Vengeance" and if you readers like it, I'll keep it and even go back to my previous stories to change all Meth's lines. Let me know what you think?
Part VI: Gojira meets Mosura's old friend Quetz after so long and we learn what really happened between her and Mosura.
Take care and stay safe. Please review.
