Miss Queen B: Hello Dear Readers, I'll keep this short so Notes:
Note One: I want to say thank you, thank you and thank you for letting this story reach over 1000th reviews. The reviews for the last chapter just made me a very happy Lady. Because of all the positive feedback (Which was very needed after what happened in Part IV, but it's cool.) I decided to introduce another Kaiju in here along with Quetzalcoatl. Boy, I can already predict the feedback on this one. Bring on the HEAT!
Note Two: I had a hell of a time with Quetzalcoatl and how to portray her. Since the Monsterverse never gave her/him (not sure about the gender, but most fans seem to prefer it to be female so ok) an official look, I did a lot of research to make sure I didn't copy anyone's art or design and for some really strange reason I had a hard time figuring out if she should have legs or not. Odd, yes, but that's what happen when you don't get enough sleep. Anyway, so about her, she's like Scylla, playing that Motherly/friend role, but she's a little more pushy when it comes to "Mother knows Best" vibe. She means well, she really does, but her flaw is that she a little "Too caring." Hopefully it makes sense in this chapter.
Note Three: Any confusion in this chapter or need a little reminder on a few things check out "Deep Blue Sea" Part IV and the one-shot "Warmth"
Note Four: About this chapter: Gojira recalls the time he met Quetz and was left alone to deal with her when Mosura went into her cocoon. Enjoy.

~By Bethany Hamilton
I hope I'm not disturbing you, but I needed peace and quiet and happened to sense you around the area. He said, before blowing bubbles out of his snout.
After that rather nasty encounter with Methuselah and the Parasite, he thought it would be a good idea to dive deep into the ocean for some darkness and serenity. Plus Azure's been wanting to visit the darker depths of the ocean for some time now so might as well kill "Two Kaijus with one stone" and take him down there. What he didn't expect was sensing another kaiju close by and he was actually glad to sense her alive and well. Deep down in the ocean where the only light came from his plates, he leaned against the side of a giant Seamount while watching Azure play around with giant, colorful tentacles. The tentacles gently grab hold of the young Prince and slowly pull him back into a large, dark opening of a cave. Azure let out a playful growl then the next thing he heard was a quick hiss coming from the Octopus Kaiju that was hidden in the cave. Azure quickly swam out, giggling before getting caught again by the Kaiju's arms. Letting her giant suction cups stick to Azure's plateless back so he couldn't escape again. Seven more tentacles followed, spreading out all over the outer part of the cave so she can pull the rest of her body out.
Resting on the edge of her hiding spot, a pair of blue glowing eyes focus on the young Prince in front of her. The last thing I want is to be taken out of hiding, but for you, I'll make an exception. The Octopus Kaiju said, while watching Azure with a tired smile as he tried to bite and claw her suction cups off of him.
I know, normally I would leave you alone, but I thought I might as well check up on your Well-Being and let you meet the young Prince for the first time.
I see. The Octopus said, looking at him with tired eyes. Well I'm better now after sleeping off that weird spell the False King had me on. I guess I was causing chaos because when I snapped out of it, I found myself surrounded by humans in their metal things shooting at me. I ended up swimming around like a clueless fish til I found this nice cave to call home.
He nodded. The humans haven't been bothering you since the False King's terror?
She shook her head. Not really, I mean I would see them around, but they don't do much, but stare at me all day.
Yeah, Mosura said they are studying us for information and shit. I caught them a few times coming around my island home or trying to spy on Azure. I don't like it, but Mosura said if we don't hurt them, they won't hurt us.
Hmmm, so the False King is gone for good this time?
Yes, and I made sure there weren't any pieces of them left behind afterwards.
Are there more kaijus out there? She asked.
He nodded, A clawful at the moment, but more are waking up as the years go by. He sighed angrily. More kaijus, more damn drama.
I understand what you mean. Some sort of sea-dragon that goes by the name Tiamat passed by here a while back looking for a new home. Aggressive Thing. She wanted to start trouble, but something distracted her and she took off.
Azure giggled as the Octopus kaiju spun him around in different directions with her tentacles. Once the spinning stopped he was floating upside down. (Si-ie, this Squid is fun)
She's an Octopus kaiju named Na Kika and if you don't want to get on her bad side, don't call her a squid.
Na Kika grumbled. In which I don't understand how it's so hard to tell us apart from those Silly Squid Breeders, but that's besides the point. Now let's have a look at this bundle of joy. With that she wrapped her tentacles around Azure and pulled him close to her face. Her eyes stared at his nervous face before traveling down to the tip of his tail. Are you sure he's yours, Goji? He's way too cheery to be your Heir. She asked.
Ha ha. He said, sarcastically. When he was a newborn, it was hard to get him to laugh and smile, but with Mosura being the one taking care of him, he's turning into her.
How is Mosura doing anyway? She asked, looking at him.
She's fine. We're both doing fine. She's a natural when it comes to this whole parenting thing.
My condolences on her for delivering this big, healthy boy. Your Sire told me his mate had a hard time carrying you and she was much bigger and stronger than your Queen.
He snorted bubbles again, a little bittersweet from the mention of his Parents, but Na Kika meant well which is why he tolerated her. Mosura had a hard time, saying it felt like the egg was sucking the life out of her, but after absorbing some of my radiation, it was a lot easier to carry it full-term.
Na Kika giggled as she tossed Azure above them, away from the safe glow of his plates only to float back down gently towards them. Azure growled and swam down toward Na Kika and tackled her in the face. Nice try, Little Prince, but my body can absorb hits.
Azure held on to her. (Squishy…) He said, looking at her while touching her face with his claws.
One of her large tentacles reached behind Azure's back and started to pat it. Easy with those nails, Little one.
Azure quickly turned his head and tried to bite her playfully.
He's a biter.
That means he likes you or sees you as food, Na Kika. It's hard to tell sometimes. He shrugs. I'm surprised how quickly he took a liking towards you. Though he was like that with the other kaijus he met. I'm a little worried about that.
Oh Gojira, he's a hatchling, he has every right to be curious.
I was never like that, in fact none of my Kind were ever like that.
The world is different now from what I see. A little more lay back now that there's not a lot of us left. Plus, he's not a normal lizard. He's part of you and that's saying a lot since you were different from your own Kind now add the fact his mother is a very social, curious little Thing, well there you go.
He stayed quiet for a moment, looking out at the endless darkness of the water while his mind wandered. He's too trusting.
Mosura was the same way.
Exactly and that tends to get her in trouble. He said, in a hurtful tone. Remembering standing above her while she begged and pleaded to spare The Bird's life. Literally throwing her body on top of the badly injured Rodan to protect him from his wrath. Looking back at it, if he really wanted to be the Monster as everyone saw him as, he would have grabbed her by the wings and tossed her aside so he could finish the job. Rodan would be dead and Mosura wouldn't had fallen for that-
I'm very trustworthy as well. After all, if I wasn't I wouldn't have helped you out when you were badly injured. Who would've thought someone like you could be a really good friend.
Just because you looked out for me when I was immobilized doesn't mean we're friends or anything like that. He said, with a sly smirk.
That smirk was slapped off his face by one of her strong tentacles. Getting a wide eyed look from Azure since not only did he take the hit, he actually laughed it off.
Still strong for an old, bitter female. He said, rubbing his cheek to soothe the slap.
And I see you still have no manners even as a King now. She said in a disapproving tone.
Go easy on me, I had a bad day. He said, crossing his arms.
Azure whine, (Si-ie got into a fight) He said, while pointing at the two hole cuts on his leg.
He suddenly felt a stronger tentacle on his face and was forced to look at the Octopus Kaiju.
Gojira, why are you hurt?
(Si-ie was in a fight with a mountain!) Azure said with big eyes.
Na Kika stared at the young Prince. Young one, I can not understand your whines. You need to learn how to talk sooner or later. She said then faced him. Shouldn't he know a few words by now?
He knows a lot of words. He just chooses to speak telepathically. I swear it's hard to block his constant gibberish sometimes.
Well, that just makes it hard to understand him, don't you think? Na Kika asked, belittling him a bit for his poor parenting skills in his opinion.
His eyes narrowed, he never liked the way Na Kika would talk to him like a mother would talk to a Hatchling. Worse now when he thought about it. It was more like a Grandmother now. Being Nosy and prying into Their Adult hatchling's life with parenting advice they never asked for. He can recall Dalia doing that to his mother and even Jaya when his bratty self became difficult. If you want to talk to him all Azure has to do is connect foreheads with you, Genius.
Don't get smart with me, Goji. She said, firmly.
He crossed his man and huffed. Azure, try connecting with Na Kika.
Azure stared at him, a little surprised he would make a request like that. He can't blame his Heir, he told him over and over again to not use it with anyone beside him and his mother, in fear it might hurt his head. Plus he didn't want others to pry in Azure's mind and use it against them, but he trusted Na Kika. She was never the gossiping type unlike his Queen's blabbering stupid friends and she mostly kept herself in the dark so it's not like she would do anything to him or the boy. (Really)
Yeah, it's alright, she's not that harmful. He chuckled.
Azure hmm-ed with a tiny smile, giving Na Kika credit for her opinion about kids sensing their parents' feelings. Azure could tell he was comfortable with this kaiju so there was nothing to be afraid of. With that, Azure gently pressed his head against hers causing a warm tiny glow between the two kaijus. Still he was cautious, keeping his mind open with his son in case something happens. Concentrating, he can hear the waves of giggles echoing in his mind.
(Your head tickles) Azure said as he continued to touch Na Kika's face. He thought that was weird till Mosura told him it was one way for a hatchling or any young ones to connect with other kaijus. The touching of the face is Azure's way to remember someone important. Now that he thought about it, he could remember doing the same thing with his parents. As a way to remember the texture of their scales, to memorize the exact colors of their eyes and their unique scent.
Na Kika's body jittered from the sudden tiny voice in her head. Now I can hear you properly. She said with a small chuckle.
Yeah, but he's still rather new to it. If he pulls away, the connection will be lost.
I see, so I'm stuck with the Little One on my face. Oh, it reminds me of my own young ones attaching themselves to me.
(How do you know Si-ie?) Azure asked.
Oh, it's rather a scary story, Little One. She said, looking at him to see if she should go on or not.
He let out a long, low snort and closed his eyes. Not something he wanted to remember. He was going through a very low point of his life when he met Na Kika. It was a few years after Anguirus' death and Mosura leaving him when he rejected her and her love. Lost, alone and bitter, he felt like he was going to have a nervous breakdown and what made it worse, he was also being hunted down by the False King or known as the Fallen Star way back then.
I saved your Sire's life….
He suffered a horrible injury and in a desperate attempt to flee from the Fallen Star, he had to drag his injured body to the only place they couldn't reach him…
...I happened to be swimming around when he fell into the ocean, trying to escape from a horrible monster with red eyes.
(A monster?) Azure asked which Na Kika nodded.
….He tried to swim away, but the Fallen Star ended up catching him with their feet in an attempt to drag him back on land. He struggled. He wasn't the powerful, worshiping Being like he is today, he was still new to everything about himself. He couldn't use his powers at will and plus, he was just a complete mess at the time during their fight….
...An awful creature that nearly destroyed the world. They tried to hurt your Sire…
But Na Kika came out of nowhere and helped me fight them off. He said, not wanting to get into too many details. At least not yet, the last part of this trip of theirs is when he takes him down to one of his many Kingdoms so Azure could see some of the history the humans wrote, carved and drew about him and the False King. I was in bad shape and Na Kika was nice enough to look out for me while I heal.
(Wow)
"Wow" wouldn't be a great way to describe it. Your Sire was a Brat towards me and I don't recall ever getting a Thanks either.
I told you, I owe you one and it's still a promise till this day. You helped me so whenever you need it, I'll be there.
I know you will, but I know how to take care of myself, Gojira. She said, with a smirk.
(Mama would tell me Si-ie would always get hurt) Azure said and he could hear the concern in his son's voice.
Which brings us back to our previous conversation. Why are you hurt? Na Kika asked once again, but this time a little more firmer.
Shifting around to get into a more comfortable position. He rested his back against the Seamount, letting his plates dig into the rock wall for support and looked away from the Octopus. He was pouting because he was still upset over that rather embarrassing scene he saw in the afternoon. I had to take care of one of my Subjects. He did something rather stupid and needed to be punished.
(Si-ie fought a giant mountain!) Azure said, trying so hard to stay connected to Na Kika, but he was still hype up from what he saw. (And there was a black scary bug there too.)
Na Kika gently pulled Azure away from her face, ending her connection with his Heir and looked up at him. Black, scary Bug? Does he mean those Parasites?
(My head hurts) Azure whined and rested on top of one of Na Kika's tentacles. She curled her arm around him to keep him steady.
He nodded while looking down at Azure to make sure he was comfortable.
I thought you killed them all?
No, there's one left from what I can see. I would've killed her on the spot, but she was smart enough to bow to me and not to mention she's pretty much useless without a male counterpart. Still, she seems to make it a goal in life to piss me off among other things to get back at me for making her the Last One. I really thought I had nothing to worry about except her pettiness, but she ended up finding a….partner…. (Can he really call it that since Methuselah never told him bluntly what he and the Parasite were? All he knows Meth wasn't going to stop seeing her, but the sex won't happen again. Oh yeah, does Meth really think he's that stupid.)...and it turned out to be a male I wouldn't had suspected. I mean, the male helped me kill these nasty things before the Big Sleep only to catch him sleeping with one? He said in disgust.
Well, you can't help who you fall in love with, Goji. She said, rocking Azure back and forth which put a smile on his tired face. I recall you battling the same feelings over Mosura when we first met. Injured, at a low point in your life and regretting pushing Mosura away.
Stop bringing up that point in my life and no, this is way different, he's not in love with her. I even asked him myself because who could love a Parasite like her. He said that he hated her, but he's having relations with her? He blew bubbles from stress. It's dramas like these, I wish I could go back into hibernation. You're lucky you live in a cave. Away from everything. So peaceful and quiet.
Yes, that is true and I know that would work for you for a while, but eventually the loneliness would get to you after a while. Beside hibernation should be the last thing on your mind now with a little one to raise and protect. She said, looking down at Azure who drifted off to sleep.
He chuckled, Off to dreamland, that boy can sleep.
Hmm, I guess he is your Heir after all. She said with a slight chuckle.
No, he just had a very eventful day and I have a feeling he didn't sleep well last night either.
That's Little Ones for you, they need lots of sleep. She said, while rubbing her head. And no doubt that Connection thing did something to his head. Mine feels weird now.
It does that. He said, leaning his head back to relax. Shit, I'll never get tired of being down here in the dark.
Yeah, it's quite peaceful. She said, not taking her eyes off of Azure. Should I wake him up?
No, let him sleep. I'm not in much of a hurry to my next destination.
Which is?
I need to track down one of Mosura's old friends. Or ex-friend or whatever. Apparently she woke up not too long ago and Mosura wanted me to go find her.
Careful Goji, if you keep making that Scrunched up face it's going to stay that way.
I'm not making a face. He hissed.
A Problem Female? She asked.
He nodded. Mosura's friends...well, they love her and are very protective of her. I can respect that, but they don't like me. I'm in constant battle with the Stupid Squid since she's Mosura's Best Friend with her always telling me I will never be good enough for her. At least we're trying to be mature about it and try to get along when Mosura is watching. This other one I'm about to go see is worse.
She can't be that bad? I mean the way you used to describe Scylla, I don't know how this one could be worse.
I only met her once and that was enough to cause a rip between her and Mosura. It was stupid really, the Stupid Serpent overacted and hurt Mosura in the end.
Serpent? Like the ones I see around the Ocean.
He shook his head. No, the ones that are as colorful as birds, but vicious like snakes.
Oh, I heard about them. Seen them a few times when they would get too close to the surface. Much bigger sea kaijus would jump out and take them down underwater for a tasty snack. Poor little Fools, it's hard to watch those colorful Feathers drown with that look of horror on their faces.
Yeah, I should know, I've done it a few times when I was younger. Not much meat on their bones, but food is food, I guess.
Na Kika nodded and looked down at Azure to see him slowly drifting off while snuggling close to her squishy arms. The suction cups kept him safely secure in his place and as well as massaging the little Heir to help him relax. So what happened?
He sighed, When I was...courting Mosura, she thought it would be a great time to meet her friends. Especially her "Best Friend" and I remember my companion telling me one time if I ever courted a female, I need to watch out for the Best Friends since they have the power to change the female's mind. I don't know, I think that was her way of getting the approval and blessing for this courtship since she didn't have a sire or mother around. I barely knew the Squid for like two seconds and already getting the bad looks from her. It didn't help that Mosura was in her larva form for saving my ass from a fatal wound. He groaned and shifted around a bit to loosen up his stiff muscle. The aches and pains from his fight with Methuselah were still hurting and the salt water didn't help out either. The Squid didn't waste time telling me she hated me and told Mosura she could do better, but Mosura didn't back down so the Squid had no choice, but approved of our relationship.
You shouldn't take it so personally. All females are like that, especially the ones that are as "Motherly" like Breeders. They only want the best. Though the ones that look for Mates for life can be the same way.
Oh yeah, that's where the Stupid Serpent comes in. After our visit to Scylla, Mosura wanted to cocoon and decided the best place to do so would be around her other friend's home. Sadly, either she forgot or didn't think it mattered back then, but Mosura left out a tiny detail about her friend's plan involving her sibling….

I ain't got no future or a family tree,
But I know what a prince and lover ought to be
I know what a prince and lover ought to be.~
~Two Princes by Spin Doctors
(Takes place after "Deep Blue Sea" Part IV)
How about this spot? He asked, pointing at a large patch of trees in the middle of an open field.
The felt of Mosura's little legs crawling up his back to his left shoulder nearly tickled him as she perched herself steadily next to his gills. He stared at her from the corner of his eyes as hers narrowed from examining the location. She made a few clicking sounds before sighing. I don't like the trees, they smell funny.
He slumped bitterly, nearly knocking her off his shoulder and scoffed. Who cares if they smell funny, you said you're going to be in a cocoon, how are you even going to smell things in there?
My Love, location is very important to me. I'm going to be sealed up, away from the world and everyone, I want to make sure the spot is perfect.
I would say this is the perfect spot. Safe, far away from any danger, I doubt anyone would bother us and no Squid kaijus or their eggs in sight.
That last statement was rewarded with a headbutt to his cheek. It didn't hurt, but it got his attention and he snorted. Are you still upset about the visit with Scylla?
He looked away, Do you want me to be truthful?
She crawled down his arm till she was coiled around his claws. He held her as gently as he could, but she still let out a small wince from his nails digging into her soft form. Yes, even if it hurts. I just wanted my Love that means so much to me to meet the female that means the world to me. I really thought you and her would get along.
No, she made it clear she doesn't like me.
Well, me and her talk and all I can ask is to be patient with her and give her time. All she wants is the best for me. Just like how I always wanted what's best for her. She said, making her blue eyes grow big and bright.
He sighed, I think it's best if we never see her again, but since she's your friend, I can't prevent you from doing that. (Plus, if I was that demanding, no doubt you would leave me) So yeah, I'll give the Stupid Squid some time.
Don't call her that, Goji. Mosura said while pointing a claw at him.
I'm sure she has funny names for me when you're not looking.
Mosura sighed only to perk up a bit. I hope things get better when we meet my other friends.
He stopped dead in his tracks. Other friends?
Yeah, I told you, I know a lot of kaijus around here. I wanted you to meet Scylla first because she means the most to me. In fact….She closed her eyes and her body started to glow a bit and he could tell right off the back she was in some sort of trance. She suddenly giggled and made a few clicking sounds….From what I'm sensing and contacting, we're close to my other close friend. Ooh, we should go there for me to cocoon, what do you say? She asked, giving his cheek a pleading nuzzle.
I just spent days with a Squid that was trying to burn a hole in my head with her intense staring. Why do I want to go to another Pack and relive that again?
Enough with the moodiness. I know it was a little Rough with Scylla, but Quetz is different. She's always so sweet and happy and unlike Scylla, she believes in Love and relationships.
How is that supposed to make me feel better? He asked.
She might be more positive about us than Scylla was.
Why is this so important to you? Who cares what other kaijus think about you being with me.
Because I just want everyone to get along. I mean, I've seen how you and your old companions were and well...it just ended badly.
Badly was an understatement in his mind since it was a sudden, tragic split. He did adore her for not making it so obvious though, but he knew what she meant. He lost count how many times she would track him down only to find him fighting with Rodan over something stupid with Anguirus stuck in the middle and pleading with him not to harm the Fire Demon. Only for things to finally end when Ang was murdered by the Fallen Star and Rodan left after blaming him for their companion's demise. Damn, he thought grimly, it's been ten or so years since Anguirus died, since the little trio his Spike kaiju friend put together fell apart and it still felt like it was only yesterday. He grumbled, Which way? He asked begrudgingly.
She smiled softly and pointed West. That way...I already sent her a message that we should be there by tomorrow. From the wavelength I was getting from her, she sounded excited. I haven't seen her in years.
He started walking in that direction. Why? Had a little spat with her?
She sighed, No, like so many she moved her Flock to a safer location to get away from the Fallen Star's wrath. She was one of the lucky ones from the last time we spoke not to get invaded by that Golden demon. I heard awful stories from survivors and what they did to their homes and families.
A pang of Guilt hit him for a second. Times were safe right now thanks to him. The last battle he had with the Fallen Star left them both broke and injured. When he retreated, they didn't bother to go after him thanks to him tearing off a large portion of their left wing and breaking the other one. One thing he noticed over the years fighting with that Thing, they don't do well with their regeneration in cold places. When he look back to make sure he wasn't followed, they were just lying there in blood-stained snow. Getting buried under it till he could no longer see them. He thought he they were dead till he saw them twitching. He should have killed them right then and there, but he had already lost so much blood and energy and didn't want to risk provoking them again. So he left. He was no fool, he's seen what the Fallen Star would do for fun. They want to make sure no one could defeat them so one by one they would invade herds, packs or flocks, kill off their Alphas, Betas and their heirs and leave the weak ones defenseless and devastated. The look on the females' faves, crying over their mates and young's dead bodies is something you'd never forget and the rest of the survivors are just left without a clue how to move on without their Alphas.
-I would help those. who are frighten to find a place to hide and feel safe, but I made sure I stayed close to Scylla and her Pack. She didn't want to leave her home no matter how many times I would beg her. I mean her home is pretty much away from a lot of populated areas, so she didn't want to risk being exposed, but you just never know with the Fallen Star.
Hmm. Well, I'm sure Quetz….I said that correctly right?
She nodded.
I'm sure she will be glad to see you again then.
It wasn't much since he wasn't good with words, but it did help put a small smile on her face. Last thing he really wanted to talk about was the Fallen Star.
000000000000
It was mid-morning when they finally reached their location. There in front of him stood giant, jagged mountains covered in patches of grass and tiny trees. The sun was barely peeking out behind the pointy rocks and the sky had a few bird-serpents flying around. Some searching the land for food while others were parents teaching their young how to fly. The rest of them were in their nests and chatting among themselves. The mountains were covered in these bird-like nests, each ledge had one, with each nest decorated with different plants, flowers and bones. Of course it didn't take long for his present to be noticed. Most of them stopped what they were doing to stare at him. Females were hiding their young in their nests while the males squawked at one another about the Invader in their home. He huffed and took a step back while feeling Mosura crawling to the top of his head.
Mosura, say something before they attack me with their talons. He whispered.
Don't worry my Love, they won't attack till their Alpha gives orders.
Ok, and which one is he?
He suddenly felt something sharp landing on his back and digging into his scales for a steady grip. The surprise made him fall to one knee while the sounds of bird cries and wings flapping filled the air. The ground rumbled from him catching his fall and he heard Mosura cry out from the sudden impact. He started to panic when he felt something scooping Mosura off his head before pushing off his back and back into the sky. All that was left was a bunch of green and blue feathers raining down on him. He quickly got back on his feet and stared up at the sky, ready to roar at the kaiju who dared touch him and take Mosura away from him.
Instead he was greeted by confusion when he spotted a bird-serpent spinning around in the air while holding Mosura close to her body for a tight hug.
My Rainbow! The Serpent's feminist voice ringed out. Is it really you?!
Stunned, he looked down at Mosura who was firmly clutched in the Serpent's talons. Instead of any signs of distress, Mosura cried out in pure joy. What other bug would come over to visit you, Beautiful?!
They both giggled like girly-girls and soon the chattering and gossip began with him being left in the dark. The female lower herself to the ground, carefully placing Mosura down before landing next to her as gently as possible. From that kind gesture, it told him this was the friend Mosura was talking about. He's seen Bird-serpents before, not really up close like now, unless he counts the times he would strike one down to eat, but never really had a good look at them. They were an odd bunch, They had a body like a snake, long and thin with bird-like wings and legs. They were known for colors and beauty, hell the males were so pretty-looking it was hard to tell which was which until they open their mouths to screech or talk. Mosura's friend was no different, with her snake-like body covered in shiny green feathers with her wings having multiple colors of green, blue, red and bright orange. Like that old, annoying pest Rodan, she had the same wing design where there were four claw fingers on top which she was using to lift Mosura up so they could talk at the same eye level. The Serpent had the same soft features like Mosura in her Moth Form. She had red eyes that were surrounded by her green feathers and smooth beak. What really makes them stand out from the rest of their Fellow Flyers was their Crests on their foreheads. This one had a diamond shape cut with red and blue feathers on top.
It's been so long, I was beginning to worry. I actually sent one of my Messengers a while back to Scylla and she said she hasn't seen you in months...The Serpent said before quickly looking over Mosura's features as if the Dumb Thing finally realize Mosura was in her larva stage...And it's a good thing I was worried, what happened to you? Why are you a larva?
He rolled his eyes from that since Scylla asked her the same thing as well. Only to belittle him because someone of his size and shape had to be rescue by Mosura. He wasn't rescued, he had a fatal wound and Mosura ended up using all her healing powers to revive him. At least she has the gift of coming back to life as long as there's an egg for her.
Oh you know me, things just happen, that's all. Mosura nervously smiled. I have a lot of great things to tell you, Quetz, but first-
Quetz's smile grew bigger and made her snake-like tail swish around. Well, I hope you are staying for a while because when you told me you were coming by for a visit, I sent Amon for Tahmuras to come back early from his quest.
He could literally see the colors drain from Mosura's face from the mention of that name. T-t-tahmuras?
Quetz giggled and placed Mosura down. Of course! Why wouldn't I? Do you have any idea how sad and restless he's been without seeing you? Though seeing you in a larva might disturb him since he's so protective of you. She said, giggling. But you know him, he'll watch over you if you decide to cocoon here.
That's not necessary, that's not his job….Mosura said, looking down at the ground. Blushing so hard that her body turned a bright pink.
Nonsense, he'll do anything for his Rainbow. Quetz said with a big, cute smile on her face. Even going as far as pinching Mosura's chubby cheek.
He felt a sharp pang in his chest, the sense of something trying to invade what belongs to him and he didn't like it. The words flew out of his mouth before he had a chance to think or stop himself. His...Rainbow?
That finally got the Stupid Serpent's attention as her eyes darted over to him and she place her claws on her beak. Oh, pardon my rudeness. I was so happy seeing my companion, I didn't get a chance to thank you for escorting her here.
Escorting? He asked with a raised bow.
Mosura nervous smiled, Um, Quetz, he-
After all, with the world barely surviving as it is with that Ugly, golden demon, I'm glad you took precaution and have someone bring you here. Especially in your condition, Mosura. Though I'm very surprised you asked him of all kaijus.
What do you mean "You of all kaijus?" He asked, getting offended.
Quetz raised her claws up in defense. I'm not saying it in a bad way. I heard great things about you, the one everyone refers to as the "King." A bit of a stretch on that name, but ok, whatever works. You're the one who's been keeping the Fallen Star from taking over the world and for that I'm grateful. I just didn't think you would have time to help our defenseless creatures like Mosura out. Not to mention, being a Target and all…
Quetz…. Mosura called out again, nervously.
I'm not trying to be rude, and I'm glad for everything you are doing, but it's best if you leave now. I really don't want to endanger my Flock. If the Fallen Star is still around, they will be looking for you and-
His left eye started to twitch and glared at Mosura before he did something he might regret. Mosura…
Quetz! Mosura shouted before tugging on the Serpent's wing.
Yes, what is it? Quetz asked politely.
Mosura huffed, trying so hard not to sound annoyed by her Stupid friend's assumption. He's not my escort, Quetz, he's with me. He's-
Oh, where are my matters, I didn't know you had a...Quetz looked over at him unease...traveling companion. They stared at each other for what seemed like forever till she cleared her throat. Well then, allow me to introduce myself. I'm Quetzalcoatl, Alpha female of this flock and one of Mosura's closest friends and you are?
He snorted hard, sending little blue particles out of his snout. Gojira...He said as calmly, but as dark as he possibly could.
She snickered, So the dark and mysterious lizard has a name that's nice. Sounds better than King if you ask me. She said politely with a smile before looking down at Mosura. Still, I know he's your travel companion, but I still think it would be safer if he keeps his distance from my flock.
First of all, that Golden Bastard hasn't been seen in a year, he could be dead since the last time I fought him, they were buried in snow. Second, I don't care who you are, nobody is keeping me from being close to Mosura.
Mosura smiled nervously and rubbed her head against The Stupid Serpent's wing. Quetz, it's alright. He's just being protective.
Rude is more like it. He may be a top Predator, but he needs to show some respect. The Stupid Serpent said. Still she kept that smile on her face. Most likely don't want to cause a scene. He's been around herds and packs and if the Alpha's Followers see their Leader distress, they will attack as well. He came a long way when it comes to skills, but even he knows he can't take on an entire Flock of flyers. Not to mention, Mosura wouldn't like it if he had to take on one of her friends. Kaiju knows it took a lot of strength not to stomp on her stupid Squid friend for all her sneer remarks or trying to get Mosura to leave him.
He's a little rough around the edges, but once you get to know him, he's really sweet and caring.
Mosura quit lying. He said, a little embarrassed from her description of him. Last thing he wants is Rivals to hear those sweetly, disgusting words.
I'm not lying. You're just too prideful to show it to others.
I'm not prideful, so quit it. He said, looking away in embarrassment.
Mosura started to giggle, turning her body a calming blue glow. Please, Goji, don't be shy.
He noticed the Stupid Serpent's eyes shifting back and forth between him and Mosura and from the looks of it, her dense head was creating a picture. She chuckles along with Mosura. My, my, my, how long have you two been traveling together? You Sillies are arguing like Mates. Oh, how hilarious that would be.
Well, here's something funny you can giggle about. We are. He said, with a sly smirk.
Her chuckles stopped immediately and she looked down at Mosura with wide eyes. Mosura?
Mosura cleared her throat. That's what I've been trying to tell you and why I came here for a visit. I wanted you to meet Gojira. He's Courting me! Mosura said with a slight bit of joy in hopes that would lighten the mood.
The Stupid Serpent's feathers fluffed up in a very unattractive way follow by dead silence. He clearly shifted his eyes over to her Flock who were all now staring at him and the two females. The Stupid Serpent cleared her throat and started to pat down her feathers. Courting...Well, this is awkward.
Only to you. He said, slyly with his tail swishing side to side. Part of him wanted to scoop up Mousra and get her far away from here, but he didn't want to upset her in her little larva form. Something he noticed while she was in this weird stage. Her emotions would be very high and sensitive.
Well, this is going to be….um...surprising when Amon comes back with Tahmuras.
If it's going to be too much trouble, perhaps being here is not a good thing? Mosura asked.
Nonsense, you're vulnerable right now. I want you to be safe and protected when you cocoon. In fact I'm surprised you didn't cocoon over at Scylla's turf.
We were there a while ago and well…Mosura looked up at him with concerned eyes and he picked up right away. Yeah, the meeting of the Best Friend didn't exactly go so well. Scylla didn't "Approved" of him and he has yet to tell Mosura that he over heard her and the Stupid Squid's conversation. He'll admit, he put Mosura through a lot of shit as Scylla pointed out before finally proposing to her, but that was the past and he's trying to make up for it.
Quetz smirked, Oh I see….She said and looked over at him. So, you met the Sweet and Lovely Scylla? Wonderful female, am I right? I mean if you're still around after meeting her that's saying something. She giggled which made Mosura blushed. Scylla is very hard to please sometimes, but that's just her way and MINE when it comes to watching out for our Rainbow.
Quetz, stop, I'm not a hatchling...I mean right now I am, but that doesn't mean I should be treated like one.
Well then, let's brush this aside and find you a place to cocoon so you don't have to be in this stage anymore. Quetz said while spreading out her wings to show off her marvelous colors before bending down to pick Mosura up. She then placed her on top of her Crest head before jumping up into the air to take flight. Oh I can't wait to see you in your adult form. Perhaps I can persuade you to change your wings colors a bit or maybe do a whole new pattern look. I mean, if I had the ability to change my appearance like you just think of all the features I can make, not to mention-
He snorted and just stood there, not sure what to do. He didn't like the fact that Mosura could be taken away from his reach just like that. The Stupid Squid did the same thing and that made him uncomfortable since that was her way to get Mosura alone to "Girl Talk." Females, why couldn't Mosura's friends be normal? If he wanted to he could just blast this entire mountain to shit, but it was still hard to control his beam and the whole Mosura would be upset with him was the other problem. Mosura looked back at him with a reassuring smile.
Are you coming? She asked.
He looked over at the Flock again and snorted. I'm not in the mood for socializing, Mosura.
You'll be fine, Go-Go, my Flock won't attack unless I give them my signal. If it wasn't safe, Rainbow wouldn't have lasted a minute as worm-food here. Quetz said with a smirk before flying towards the other side of her mountain. Leaving him behind.
He raised a brow. Go-Go? He questioned himself before following them while dragging his feet.
00000000
So go over the steps again? He asked.
Lying on his stomach with his tail wrapped around his body, he watched in disbelief as Mosura began to make her so-called Cocoon. After finding a spot on the mountain, She began to spit silk all over the place and started to weave it with her little claws. Quetz was sitting on a ledge above them keeping watch as if he was too weak to do that himself. Whatever, it gave him and Mosura some private time. A small strand of silk landed on his nose followed by the sound of Mosura giggling.
My Love, what part of the cocooning are you not getting? She asked,
I guess the whole turning back to your old self part. So you wrap yourself in all this silk and after a few days you'll come back as a Moth again.
Pretty much, so what's so confusing about it. She asked again before spitting out another clump of silk. With a small hum, she began to wrap it around her body, making sure it was nice and tight.
And this is alright. Being wrapped up is not going to harm you? He asked, sounding stupid for some reason.
I've done this many times, my Love. It's perfectly fine. Just think of it as a peaceful sleep.
Can you breathe in there?
Yes, very well in fact. She said, shifting around till she was in a comfortable position. The cocoon was almost finished where only the top part where her head was sticking out was the last thing to seal. He started to get a little nervous from seeing her disappearing in this soft web.
And how long does this process take again?.
Well, for great results, I say about a month or so-
You're going to leave me out here with these wild imbeciles for a month!? He shouted, flabbergasted by the mere thought of it.
Mosura stared at him before looking up at the ledge to see the Stupid Serpent staring down at them with an unamused face. Mosura sighed, You'll be fine, my Love. Quetz always makes sure her guests are welcome.
He pouted which made her giggle.
You're so cute when you blush. She said smiling which made him roll his eyes. You know if we were Connected, you and I could talk to each other while I'm in here. She said, with a sad smile.
He knew that smile from anywhere. She was hoping he would finally accept her gift to Connect so they can form one mind with each other. She explained it to him a few times, but part of him was still standoffish about the whole thing. The thought of someone seeing his thoughts and memories and feelings just weirded him out.
The silence disappointed her. Which to him seems like that's all he's been doing because he was too prideful and guarded to open up to her. She sighed, If it helps, I can try to hurry things up and be out in a day or two. Though if I do that, my lifespan won't be as long as the last one and will have to go back into another egg soon.
A few days I can handle. If anything, I'll just sleep for the time being.
Alright. Just try to get along with Quetz and be respectful, she is the Alpha and is very protective over her Followers.
He snorted. I can't promise you anything.
Goji….She warned. I don't want to come out to see the whole place burned down.
He snickered, I wasn't thinking that, but thanks for the idea. He said with a big smile, showing off all his shiny teeth. She wasn't smiling from his remark which made him scoff. I'll be on my best behavior, just stop making that face.
Can I get a kiss before I go?
His eyes grew big from her request. They've been together for months now, but he was still having some problems showing affection. Normally it was her giving him nuzzles, grooming and wound cleaning, but he never returned the favor...yet. It was bound to happen, but he could barely hold her in his claws without his nails piercing her body. How could he be affectionate? Not to mention, it would be the first time showing it since he actually loves Mosura unlike those annoying easy Flings he had before she came around. He swallowed the lump in his throat and decided to change the subject.
We're in public. He said.
She moaned, Please?
He tapped his claws on the grass before clenching a large clump of it. So who's Tahmuras?
Her eyes widened and she started to laugh nervously. He's Quetz's brother. Nothing more. Love you! She said rather quickly before sealing up the last piece of her cocoon. The cocoon started to shake a bit from her moving around in it before going completely still.
He blinked. Mosura? He called out only to jerk his head back when the cocoon started to glow her signature blue color. He groaned and was a little upset to see her "gone" in a way. It was like when he had to wait for her to hatch out of her egg, it was nerve wracking. Granted, this time instead of the pudgy larvae he will get to see his beautiful, colorful Moth again and-
He nearly bit his tongue when something landed harshly on his upper back complete with sharp talons digging into his shoulder for grip.
I swear no matter how many times I see this it always amazes me. The Stupid Serpent said, not even caring she was standing on him.
What in the world are you doing? Get Off! He said, getting up in a seating position. He was hoping the sudden movement would knock her off, but she only held on tighter.
Rude. She said, I thought all Bulky kaijus like having Flyers on their shoulders?
I don't like to be touched, now get off my back! He shouted, shaking his body to get her to release her grip. His legs went numb when he felt those sharp talons grabbing on to his sensitive gills and forcing him to settle down.
Calm down, Go-Go, we're all friends here. She said with a big smile on her face. Her eyes shining like dark rubies. And just to make sure he didn't do anything to hurt her, she gripped his gills a little tighter. But I'm not a Fool. If you cause any commotion while Mosura is transforming or bring harm to me or my flock, I will cut.
How do you-
Know your weak spot. Oh please, we're part of your food source. How else are we going to defend ourselves?
Yeah, yeah, yeah, I'm not going to do anything while Mosura is around. Now. Get. Off. He sneered.
That bright smile appeared on her face again. Wonderful, now that we are on the same level. Let's have a look at you, shall we? She said, letting his gills go before turning around to look at his plates. Wow. It's not everyday you see a lizard kaiju up close and when it comes to you, I'm surprised I'm not dead yet. She said, while touching his giant plates. Even going as far as wiggling them. So how do you turn them on. I heard from other kaijus you can make them glow.
He looked over his shoulder to see her climbing down to his tail while getting a little uncomfortable with her examining him.
Hmm, Strong tail which is good to keep opponents away and with those powerful legs, I'm guessing you have no upper body strength. She giggled while walking in front of him. Or it could be used just to hold up all this...fluff, right? She asked while giving his stomach a couple of pokes with her nails.
He growled, Now listen here, I don't make fun of your appearance so don't you dare start with the fat jokes.
I'm just making an observation. She said, wiggling her body to make her feather fluff up. Now open wide, I want to take a look at those teeth.
He took a step back. Why in the world do you want to see my teeth?
I'm just trying to figure out why Mosura would...well...why she would….
What? Be with me. Well, you got me there as well, Serpent.
Quetzalcoatl, Alpha Quetzacoatl to be more precise. She said, correcting him.
Oh, if we are going that way, I think you should call me King then since that's what everyone I meet is seeing me as. After all I am the one fighting the Fallen Star all the time why you guys just hidel.
Not going to happen and being a target to a Thing from the sky isn't something I would brag about. She said, slyly.
Let's cut to the chase because you're already becoming a headache. I can see it on your face. it's the same Bitchy look the Stupid Squid would give me and questioning why Mosura would rather be with me after everything I put her through.
Oh, so you're the One, Scylla told me about. Funny she left out the Lizard part. She just told me that Mosura was trying to get some Fat Idiot to notice her only to have her heart broken in the end. My, my, when she told me she had to watch Mosura cry her little heart out in the pouring rain after getting rejected by you. That poor dear, Scylla couldn't bear seeing her covered in mud and blood which is why I'm surprised she was Ok with you courting our Rainbow.
He snorted. She didn't have a choice. Mosura made it very clear she made her choice and if Scylla still wanted to be in her life she needed to accept it.
Yeah, which is weird because she never spoke of having a thing for Bulky Kaijus, she was more into Flyers like herself. A long time ago, she grew rather close to my brother and when he asked her to be his mate, I was so sure she would say yes….
Now it makes sense why Mosura was nervous every time they brought up that name. So Tahmuras is your brother and he and Mosura...
She nodded. Younger and Beta and oh my goodness he had the biggest crush on Mosura. I think Mosura felt something for him since they would always hang out, fly around and even stay up all night to look up at the stars. Then I don't know what happened, she left to go check on her egg and didn't see her in months. When she finally came back for a visit, there was a change in her, she became distant. Tahmuras figured there was another Suitor since he would catch her space off with this blush on her face. I once asked Scylla about the mystery male and the only thing she said was that she really, really hopes it was just a phase. And by looking at you, I can see why she was hoping it was just a phase.
His eyes narrow. Like that Sick little Breeder can talk. With all the males the Squid's been with.
Don't talk nonsense about her or how their Kind works. She's happy with it and I even told Mosura to back off when it comes to trying to pair Scylla up with someone. That's just Breeders for you, they don't want mates, just hatchlings. It could be worse, do you know how Muto Parasites breed?
No, and I don't even want to know and you're getting off topic here. Damn are all Mosura's friends this annoying. How she manages to be patient with you is beyond me.
I'm not getting off topic, you pudgy Thing, but you will not talk bad about Scylla that way.
How I talk to the Stupid Squid is between me and her. Now your brother? Is this something I need to take care of?
Oh? Jealous, are we? Can't blame you one bit. We bird-serpents are known for beauty and colors. Comparing you to one of our males. Especially my brother, there's no mistake about who is the better Suitor here. If I knew you were the competition, I would've encouraged my brother to court Rainbow a lot sooner. Alas, although brave when it comes to battle, he's so shy when it comes to making a move on a wonderful female. She said, with a huff while shaking her head in pity.
Move? He didn't like the way she said it. What kind of move are we talking about?
Ew, don't make it sound so dirty. Tahmuras is a respectable male and would never use a female like that. That's when he proposed to her. He was ready to fly over to Scylla for her approval till tragedy struck. She had to leave so suddenly because Scylla got attacked and never really gave him an answer. She said, sadly.
Well as you can see, her answer was no and upgraded her tastes in males. No offense to your brother or any of your serpent-birds. He said smugly. But apparently she loves my mesmerizing glow and as far as "Beauty" is concerned, that's only skin deep. One blast from me and your brother will be nothing more than an overcooked piece a of meat to chew on.
Wow, such a charmer. She said sarcastically. I can see why Scylla thought you were no good for Mosura.
And I'm going to tell you what I told that Stupid Squid. I don't care what you think of me or why Mosura is with me. I really don't, but you're her friend and I respect that so you need to respect that I'm here to stay. I know I made some wrong decisions concerning her and hurt her, but that's all in the past now. You may have Mosura fooled with your sweet smile and politeness, but if you're anything like the Squid and if you want this to work, I would knock off that Bitchy Attitude of yours before things get really ugly.
She laughed, I would love to see you try and threaten me. Like I said before, one snap of my claws you'll have the entire flock on you in seconds. I know you can take on the Fallen Star, but even you are no match against nearly thirty serpents.
He growled at her before taking a deep breath and stared at the glowing cocoon behind Quetz. Is there a point to all this badgering?
She smoothed out her feathers. There is. Scylla might be more lenient because she and Mosura have known each other longer, but I'm not. We love our Rainbow and I don't want her to get hurt and being around you with that giant target on your Pudgy butt will guarantee she will get hurt. Not just from predators and the Fallen Star, but by you as well. You broke her heart before...can you look me in the eyes and tell me you can truly love her the way she needs to be loved?
He said nothing because honestly, he wasn't sure, but he will try. He knew he loved her ever since Mosura saved his life, it was showing it that was the hard part. Yet somehow he had a feeling she knew how he felt which is why she was so patient with him.
The Stupid Serpent frowned, Your silence is very reassuring. Look, if you actually care about her, and I mean really really care about her, perhaps you should back off and let a Proper Suitor court Rainbow instead. I truly believe you're not fit for the job.
Being twice her size, he slowly leaned down to her eye level thinking it would make her back down. It didn't instead she just crossed her wings and stood there like she was taller than him. A true Alpha, he thought, she was never going to let anyone look down at her. And you think your puny little Brother is? I fought Flyers before and one on one, you guys are not a big deal.
Trust me, Go-Go, my brother is a better Suitor. He will protect her, love her and will provide a good life for her. Rainbow has been alone for so long, she needs this.
I've asked her to be mine, she said yes so there's no way-
It's still fair game from what I see. The lack of affection you show towards her tells me you haven't "Claimed" her yet or Marked her and till that time comes, other Suitors can still woo her.
He growled and his claws were shaking from him restraining himself. He so badly wanted to smack that look off her face, but that's the last thing he wanted Mosura to see when she comes back is claws marks on her friend. Not to mention at the corner of his eye, he could see some of her Followers watching from the Mountain. Some were ready to strike if he dare lifts a claw towards this Bitchy Bird. If your brother wishes to challenge me, so be it.
Well, I'm hoping you would just leave. Last thing I want is bloodshed here, there's already been so much in this world thanks to the Fallen Star and as much as I love my brother, he's no match when it comes to brute strength so it's best you just go away. She said while spreading out her wings. Telling him this conversation is over.
Not going to happen so you might as well stop being so hostile towards me.
Hmph, Like I said, if you really care about her, you'll be gone by the morning.
And with that she flew up into the air and back towards her Flock. Leaving him pissed off and alone with his thoughts. He watched her land on the top part of the mountain, where the biggest nest was. A few seconds later, a couple of females and younglings landed around her to talk and to make sure their Alpha was unharmed. The others went back to their normal routine of eating, grooming or looking after their young while some of the males kept a watch out on things including him. He snorted and laid down next to the glowing cocoon while flashing his own glorious light from his spikes. The staring was annoying and unnecessary. The Stupid Squid's pack wasn't even this bad though the Flock was just going by the Alpha's orders. Scylla's pack was just a group of females with no leader. He jerked when his eyes met the Bird-Serpent and she looked at him with a firm face. As if waiting for him to make the "right" decision and leave. Part of him, that small part thought for a second if he should. Mosura's friends were horrible, but they had some points. The same points he told Mosura when they spent their first night together as a "Courting" couple.
(...I don't want you to regret staying with me when things get dangerous….I'm a target...and you will be too..) He remembered saying that to her.
Three pairs of red eyes suddenly appeared in his mind. He didn't even want to think about what would happen if the Fallen Star found out about her. He snorted. He knew her friends were just looking out for her, hoping to make him look bad so she would leave him. Not to be mean, but just to keep her safe. He could leave...it wouldn't be the first time he just left her coldly…
(I don't care what you are, I just see you and I love everything about you. Scales and all) Her voice echoed in his head.
(I want to be with you, Gojira)
(As long as we look out for one another, we will be fine)
(Do you love me?)
He stared back at the cocoon and he believed her words. She will stay with him no matter what. Why mess up something like that again. He curled himself tight like a coil shell, gave the Serpent one last ugly look before resting his head on the warm ground. Hoping the next few days will go by quick.
000000000
The next day, he took off to find something to eat (since the bird-serpent were off limits) and to get some air from all the tension he was getting from the Stupid Serpent and her nosy Flock. He didn't want to leave Mosura, but he needed food. As his Beautiful Moth would put it: You get very cranky when you're hungry. He didn't eat when they were visiting Scylla since squid was also a food source for him and "didn't want them to feel Uncomfortable". Yet another quote from Mosura as well. He sighed, all this "Peace" and "Socializing" was making him antsy and made him think about Anguirus since he was so much like Mosura when it comes to Trusting and interacting with other kaijus. Unfortunately, just like Angurius, Mosura has her way to get him to do things he would normally stay way from and since he was courting her, he can't just fight and threaten her friends no matter how much they deserve it.
He stood there in the middle of nowhere and stared up at the sky. He never thought he would be this way for a female. Though he never thought he would actually learn to love someone and be loved. No doubt Angurius is laughing from his grave and giving him that "I told you so" smile.
It took him all day to feed since there were no kaijus around to eat, but little land creatures. The tiny little things he would see humans hunt and eat and be considered a decent snack. After getting his filled and just lounging around so he didn't have to return to the Serpent's Home soon, it was nearly late evening when he finally went back only to find something rather bizarre around Mosura's Cocoon. Piles of various plants, trees and stones…Courting Gifts from what he can tell. He recalled seeing Rodan presenting gifts like these to females in attempt to Woo them though it would end with the idiot and Anguirus fighting when Anguirus found out what Rodan's true intentions were with the females, but he was getting off topic here. Rolling his eyes and slightly offended form the display, he calmly brushed away the gifts with his tail before lying down in front of the Cocoon. Making sure his entire body was blocking it from receiving anymore "attention". Curling his tail tight against him, he rest his head on the ground and stared at the glowing cocoon tiredly. Questioning if he should push Mosura about this Male that the Stupid Serpent keeps talking about. Could he really ask? He's not the jealous type and the way Mosura was acting from hearing the males' name, it look like he was someone who got the wrong message from her. She never mention him before so he could assume she just saw him as her companion's sibling. Stupid fool, the male was just wasting his time. No threat, nothing to worry about….right?
He suddenly became uneasy and happened to look up at the mountain to see two sets of eyes staring down at him. He recognized the glowing red ones belonging to the Stupid Serpent. The other pair were bright green and from the looks of it, weren't too happy to see him cuddling close to the cocoon.
He snorted and ignored them by turning his sight back to the cocoon. Mosura? He whispered, not even feeling weird out that he was talking to a silk ball. After all, he did talk to her when she was in her egg. I don't want to sound rude, but your friend is being annoying so you need to hurry up.
The Cocoon's light started to flicker before going back to a soft dim. Tired, he closed his eyes.
00000000
He woke up to a strong scent of flowers and opened his eyes to see a pile of them right next to him with a few scattered all over his head. He quickly lifted his head up to see new gifts, and when he meant by new ones, the ones from yesterday were still scattered all over the place from when he tossed him, he meant the male must've been up all night to set those gifts around him without disturbing him.
He got up, feeling disturbed that someone actually came near him while he was sleeping, he didn't see something coming towards him. Next thing he knew, he felt something landing on his back again with those familiar claws digging into his scales. His knees buckled and he growled when he heard Quetz giggle.
Boy, my brother is really going all out. Such a romantic male, don't you think Go-Go? She asked, bringing her head down till his view was covered by her smirky face.
What did I say about landing on my back? He sneered before throwing her off.
She landed gracefully on the ground next to Mosura's cocoon. She folded her wings in and started to groom her feathers. I'm surprised to see you back and here I thought you left for good.
I had to eat and Mosura doesn't want me to eat flesh around her friends like you. He said.
She smiled, Sweet as always. She said while placing her claws on the glowing cocoon….
The urge to protect took over and he towered her. Do NOT touch her cocoon.
Her feathers fluffed up a bit, but she still kept a curvy smile. Temper, temper, you make it sound like I would harm her in this condition. She said, rolling her eyes then turned to the Cocoon. Rainbow, do you really want this to be around you for life?
He snorted. Now don't start that shit again. I am in no mood for your trash talking….Now go away and take all this stuff with you.
I will certainly not. These are gifts. My brother flew all over the place to find all the things Rainbow loves. I'm sure you would understand that since you're courting her and all. Or are you too damn Prideful to show that type of affection as well?
He blushed and started to get angry. Ok, he hasn't brought her gifts, but she understood it was something he wasn't good at when it came to all that romantic crap. It was the whole Connection thing that seemed to bring her down every time she would bring it up and he would make her drop it.
Oh goodness, you haven't brought her gifts? Have you even "connected" with her? That's probably the most important thing to Mosura when it comes to showing how much she cares.
Are you?
Her eyes grew wide. Once, but it didn't go well, too much stress on my head. I know Scylla tried it and she only lasted a day. You should take it as a compliment, Go-Go. She only does this with those she truly loves and trusts.
And like I told her, there are things in my head I don't want to see.
If you want her to yourself that's part of the exchange, Pudgy. So you might as well grow a pair and get over yourself.
(That's it.) He thought while bringing out his claws to strike. He was surprised she didn't show any fear. In fact she positioned herself in defense mode complete with her hissing while showing off her teeth and long, snake-like tongue. The bright glow of the cocoon blinded him for a second and forced him to stop from making a regretful decision. Good thing he did, he could feel the soft feathers brushing against his finger tips. He was inches away from tearing off her face or snapping her neck. A small chuckle escaped from his mouth from the mere thought of her neck twisted and tied in the knot….(Stop, stop, think of Mosura) He thought and retracted his claws away from her.
Stupid Serpent, I know what you are trying to do. He said, with a fed-up smirk.
Is there a problem?
They both turned their heads to the left to see a male, red feathered, Bird-Serpent landing on the ground while clutching on a large polished shell with his long tail. He looked exactly like Mosura's friend except his entire body was covered in red feathers with gold tips on his wings. Ignoring the male he went right into Quetz's face. You think you're so sly and think you can push my buttons to get me to crack and strike? Do you think I'm that dumb not to see the little scheme you're playing.
And what scheme do you think I'm playing Go-Go?
Sister, what's going on? The Male asked.
You know exactly what scheme. Trying to piss me off in hopes to show Mosura what an awful kaiju I am. Hoping I would leave some sort of wounded mark on you so you can cry ugly to her when she comes out. Trying to get her to leave me so you can force her to be with THAT weakling? He growled as he pointed at the male with his claw.
Force? The Male said, stunned and took a few steps back. Quetz, what is he talking about?
Tahmuras, can't you see I'm busy here. Quetz said to her brother before turning her attention back to him. And you, take a few steps back before you make my feathers wilt. She said, pushing his face away from hers.
Do not touch me. He said, slightly shoving her back with his tail.
She hissed, her thin tongue coming out to add dramatic effect. I'm asking one last time, you Fat Lizard-
Fat Lizard, boy, it's like talking to the Squid all over again. At least she's not some crazy piece of-
The Male got between them which he was glad. He wouldn't hear the end of it from Mosura if he did snap and hurt the Stupid Serpent. At least if the Male acts up, they can end this fiasco with a challenge. Hey, don't push or talk to my sister that way. The Male said, spreading out his wings to intimidate him.
And don't act so noble, I know you're part of the scheme to get rid of me too so I'm going to tell you this one time. Mosura is with me and no amount of silly gifts and foolish charm is going to change that.
The Male's green eyes widened from his accusation and thought he was going to strike him, but instead, he turned around and glared at the Stupid Serpent. What the hell did you do now, Quetz!
…...Well that came out of nowhere….
And it stunned not over him, but the Stupid Serpent as well.
Tahmuras, don't you start, it's not the right time.
Is what he said true? Is Mosura already Courted?!
She is not, he made it clear that she's not. You still have a chance to change her mind. Quetz said, getting offended by her brother's raised voice.
Dammit Quetz, how many times do I have to tell you, I don't need your help with this. The Male said, annoyed.
Really, you're going to turn this on me?
You said the Fat Lizard was just a traveling companion, nothing else? How dare you make me look like a fool! He shouted and threw the gift he had in his tail out of frustration. It made a loud smash when it hit the ground causing Quetz to jump a bit.
Oh that's. so mature of you, Tahmuras. That's so like you to throw a fit. Quetz said, shaking her head.
I'm not throwing a fit! I'm mad because you're still insisting to treat me like a hatchling! And here I thought I still had a chance!
You still do! I was just trying to help you! Quetz shouted back. Do you honestly think you stood a chance fighting for Mosura's heart in a heated battle? The Lizard may have the worst personality and the charm of a disgusting parasite-
-Really?- He asked.
-but when it comes to brute strength? The last thing I want is to see you get killed.
If I knew Rainbow was spoken for, if she said yes to the Lizard. I can not intervene in that and I can't believe you did this behind her back while she is cocooning. You're lucky she is a forgiving Being!
I'M doing what's best for you and her. When you told me you were falling for her, who was the one to encourage you to ask her? You're perfect for her, Tahmuras, not him!
As the two were fighting, something caught his attention behind the two siblings. The Cocoon stopped glowing and he suddenly saw a small crack appearing on top of the protective shell. A trail of green ooze started to leak out only for the soft silk to soak it in. Not saying a word, he walked over to the Cocoon.
I'm so tired of you acting like Mother, no you're worse! At least, She knew when to quit!
I can't believe you're going to give up like that. You've been waiting for her for years, Tahmuras! Even Scylla was telling me what a good Male you are and she's very hard to please! Are you really going to step back and let her ruin her life being with that Pudgy Thing!
Oh there you go again, only seeing kaiju from the outside. You are so shallow sometimes, Quetz! If he's the one that's been fighting the Fallen Star all this time, there's no way you can keep him away from Rainbow!
He's a target! Everywhere he goes, the Fallen Star will follow. Do you know how long it took us to find a safe place for our Flock. Our distant cousins and friends weren't so lucky. Every single day, that demon is killing off kaijus for fun and games in order to track him down. Do you really want that on our Flock and do you really want Rainbow, the one you declare your love for, to be used against him. At least here, she will be safe with you. You can provide comfort, love and protection.
He leaned down to the Cocoon, eyeing the small crack as it grew larger and larger. He reached out, a little unsure if he should touch it or not, before resting his claws on the soft, silky thing. It was warm and he could feel her moving around in it. The silk was so sticky that he tore some of it off when he removed his claws. He took a step back when a claw pushed its way out of the cocoon and started to open the hole wider for three other limbs to come out. With one struggling push, Mosura's head appeared and she let out a small, quiet chirp. He couldn't help, but smile from seeing her in her pure white fur, fluffy antennas and bright blue eyes and how greatly missed she was in this final form. Sadly, his happy reunion was disturbed by the loud squawking and screeching coming from the siblings behind him. He was glad to be a very big kaiju since his body was blocking them from seeing Mosura coming out.
My Love, a little help, please. A tired voice whispered.
Oh right, duh. He thought before bringing his claws down for her to grab hold of. He stood very still as she pulled the rest of her new body out of the cocoon followed by an endless sea of colors and patterns of her large, wet wings.
Are you ok? He asked, because he wasn't sure what else to ask, it's not everyday your girlfriend dies, comes back to life as some larva only to turn back to her final form as if nothing happened.
She nodded and shook her body to get rid of the green goo and to stretch out her wings. Just a little tired, I don't know about you, but I'm ready for a long nap or at least rest till my wings firm up.
His eyes narrow, Is that your way of saying we're staying here for a few more days.
Well, it would be nice. A great way to catch up with Quetz and-
He moved out of the way and pointed at the Stupid Serpent and her brother who finally noticed her out of her cocoon. We have a problem. He said, plain and simple.
Mosura stared at a frustrated Quetz and a very angry Tahmuras.
Her new, orange antennas perked up from seeing the two bird-serpents. Quetz? Tahmuras? Is everything Ok?
Quetz smiled nervously. Everything is fine, Rainbow. We're just in the middle of a disagreement, that's all.
Tahmuras hissed. Don't lie to Rainbow, Quetz!
Brother, I'm the Alpha and your big sister so don't you think you can get away with you talking to me like that! She hissed.
Either you tell her or I will.
Mosura took a few wobbly steps over to the bird-serpents which made Quetz flew over to help her. Rainbow, you just got out of the cocoon. You need to rest.
I'm fine. What's going on? What do you need to tell me?
Quetz cringed only to frown when she saw the worry look on Mosura's face. Can we talk in private, please.
0000000000
He was true to his words, he kept his distance from the other three while Quetz and Mosura talked. So he laid there and watched Quetz trying to explain herself to Mosura with Tahmuras making sure to keep everyone calm. Although he was far away, he had good hearing, but even he wasn't that rude to eavesdrop, but there were some things he caught during their "Talk." It was the same pile of shit she was spewing at him the other day.
He's a target, Rainbow. Why would you want to be around something like that?
I can't believe you tried to make him leave. You know how I felt about him.
Can't you see I only want what's best for you. If Scylla was here she would agree with me!
You and Scylla need to stop treating me like a Hatchling. This is my choice!
It's a stupid choice! He rejected you once, it's only a matter of time before He does it again! I'm pretty sure he had many Flings!
Sister, keep your voice down. Her Brother said.
I can't believe you Quetz, it was hurtful enough that Scylla didn't approve, but you? I thought you would be happy for me since you believe in love and relationships.
More yelling occurred. Typical fight between females. Finally, Quetz took a deep breath and rubbed her temples….Rainbow, you're one of my best friends and I love you...but this "Courtship" has disaster written all over it. Don't put yourself in harm's way. Please, reconsider Tahmuras' Proposal.
His eyes grew wide when Quetz brought Mosura's claws together with Tahmuras' as some sort of union. Tahmuras frowned when he saw the uncomfortable look on Mosura's face from the simple gesture. You two have known each other for decades and get along so well. When Tahmuras asked you to be his, I was so excited because I knew this would be a perfect match. He will be there for you, Rainbow. To protect, to love, to comfort and Sire future hatchlings when the times come. My Flock already sees you as family why not make it official?
He should say something, Hell, fight for her, for them, but he was not going to force her to stay with him if she had better options. Part of him was telling him to keep calm, let her figure out what she wants. Perhaps this was nature's way of giving Mosura one last chance to leave him so she could have a "Happy" life as everyone has put it. He looked over at the Mountains where the rest of the Flock was and they were all staring at their Alpha and Mosura while eagerly waiting for what the moth had to say.
Mosura sighed and gently pulled her claws away from Tahmuras' and shook her head. I'm sorry, Quetz. He needs me.
Quetz stared at her for a moment as if she was just slapped in the face. No, I'm sorry for ever thinking you would choose a dangerous male over your friends like that. I'm so disappointed in you.
Oh Quetz, don't be like that. Tahmuras said, though he was a little hurt from the rejection. At least he took the mature path about it.
Quetz wiped her eyes, a quick way to hide the tears. I want you to leave, Mosura. She said, coldly.
Mosura looked stunned and had a feeling it was from being called by her real name and not Rainbow. Quetz….?
I'm serious. As long as you're with him, the Fallen Star will go after you as well and anyone you are connected to. I will not put my Flock in danger like that. So if you want to be hunted and killed over and over again for the rest of your life, don't bother coming back. You're not Welcome here anymore! She shouted. She then spread her wings out and flew up into the sky before Mosura could say anything and took off somewhere to be alone.
Mosura slouched and wiped her eyes before letting out a sad sigh. Great, the last thing he wanted to deal with is Mosura crying while watching Tahmuras pat her back for comfort. They were saying something to each other, but it was so quiet it was hard for even him to pick up, but from the looks of it: Mosura was apologizing to the male for not accepting his proposal which he shrugged and gave her a sad, but understanding smile. He then tilted her chin up and gave her a hug before presenting her with one last gift. One single golden feather from his wing which she took and smiled at him. She then walked over to his direction with Tahmuras waving good-bye with this worried look on his face. No doubt concerned if Mosura's going to be alright with him or not. He stared at the male and just gave him a simple nod as a way to tell him, she's in good claws.
She stopped right next to him with a sad look, the gold feather held tightly in her tiny limb. I'm sure you're happy to know, we don't have to come back here anymore. She said, sadly.
He picked himself up from the ground and brought his tail down next to her so she could climb up. You know I'm not. I never cared what your friends think of me, but what she did was downright cruel.
She climbed up his back and rested on his right shoulder. She's an Alpha, my love and she's scared. She lost a lot of kaijus close to her thanks to the Fallen Star, her Flock means everything to her and won't risk their safety even for me. She whispered, but the frown was still there.
She's an idiot and no doubt will regret telling you those things. He said as he started to walk away.
My Love, that's not nice. She said.
He shrugged, Well, it's true and you can't change my mind.
Mosura sighed and shook her head. So...about Tahmuras?
No, don't bother trying to explain yourself. I really don't care.
He could feel her relax from his response and he didn't know why she was so jumpy about it. He could tell right off the back she didn't have feelings for the Serpent and the male was smart enough to know he had no chance with her so why get a headache over it.
The only time he ever felt threatened by another male was when he first saw Rodan make Mosura laugh….

(Present)
It was early morning when he and Azure reached the surface after spending the whole night catching up with Na Kika which the Octopus told him, although it was nice seeing him again, don't bother her anymore unless it was an emergency. He can respect that and one of the few things he liked about her. She just wanted to be left alone and sleep and stay away from all the drama. Methuselah was the same way as well and is probably why he liked them more than the others. He couldn't help, but smile, at least that visit went well. No over chattering Sloth or catching a friend doing unspeakable things with a parasite. Just a simple hello and good-bye. After swimming over to the location Mosura told him where Quetz will be at, he peeked his head out of the ocean to find himself near a beach with humans crowding around and taking pictures of something in the sky. He looked up and sure enough there she was flying around while the morning sun glorified her colorful feathers.
(What are those?)
He turned his attention to Azure who was floating next to him while pointing at the large group of humans.
Humans. He said in disgust.
Azure's eyes grew wide. (The ones Mama would talk about? They are so tiny.)
Yeah, but we're not here for them. We're here to meet another one of your Mother's friends. He said, nudging his snout up to the sky.
Azure looked up and could see Quetz flying around in circles, clearly lost in her own world to notice them down below. A giant tidal wave forced Azure to go underwater again when he stood up to make his appearance. The attention of the colorful Serpent immediately went over to him with half to the crowd running away from him. He snorted, typical humans, he saved their asses from Parasites and the False King and yet they still fear him, but whatever, he had more important things to do. With that, he looked up at the sky and shouted.
Hey! Stupid Serpent!
Quetz stopped circling around and looked down at him. Her ruby eyes stared deep into his polished gold ones. She twirled down towards him, no doubt making a show for the onlookers nearby and landed gracefully in the water in front of him. She hasn't changed a bit other than her feathers looking a bit ruffled and untamed.
Well, I never thought I would see you again, Go-Go. And here I thought you didn't like me. She said while folding her wings in.
That's King to you, Serpent and normally, my Followers would show some respect and kneel. He said, crossing his arms. At the corner of his eye he could see Azure slowly swimming over to the shoreline only to be cut off by blocking him with his tail. He quickly wrapped it around Azure's tiny body and lifted him up from the water.
Oh so you managed to get your Title back. Bravo, Go-Go. I have to say the last "King" was a bit of the A-word if you've asked me. Waking me up from my beautiful slumber to attack the nearest populated place of humans. It was horrible. They were shooting these weird "Fire Rocks" at me and burning my feathers and blackening my Crest. She said,
It's been years since all that went down, why do you still look like crap. He asked, slyly.
Rude. Once the spell broke off, I ended up passing out from exhaustion and went back into Deep Sleep. I only woke up a few days ago. Cut me some slack.
Well, I might as well be nice and catch you up on a few things. The False King is dead, I'm the King now, there are more kaijus awake that are spread out around the world and since we're here, you can meet the future King and Alpha. He said, turning around to show Azure who was hanging on to his plates.
Just like the old days, Quetz didn't waste any time jumping right on his back to examine the young Prince. Her long tail was literally smacking him in the face with her talons digging deep into his scales.
So….Quetz said, picking Azure up by the back of his neck...I take it Mosura is still with you?
He snorted and tried to move her tail out of his face. Yes and what did I tell you about landing on my back. He sneered.
Oh stop it, it's hard for me to fly with wet feathers. She said, with a smile while looking at Azure up and down. How wonderful and here I thought she was never going to be a mother. I can tell by the glowing eye color he has and that curious look on his face.
Azure giggled from the attention.
And you have your mother's laugh. It's adorable. What's his name?
(I'm Azure)
His name is Azure, Prince Azure to you and the others. He said in a demanding tone.
A Prince. She said in a lovely tone. Oh it takes me back to my own hatchlings. A batch of six eggs and all them came out males. My mate was so happy to have so many Heirs that were males. She giggled.
(You're pretty like Mama) Azure said with a smile.
No she's not, Azure. He said, disgusted.
This is truly shocking. And here I thought she would get tired if you and leave, but to have a hatchling. Wow. She turned around and placed Azure on top of his head...So how did you know I was awake or my location?
He snorted. Believe it or not, Mosura would fly by to check on you while you were sleeping. She told me a few days ago she felt you waking up and asked me to go find you.
She slouched and jumped off of him. Not even caring if it means getting her feathers wet again. Why didn't she come and look for me? She asked, looking at the water.
Oh I don't know. Perhaps it was from you telling her to never speak to you ever again. That I was a dangerous kaiju to be around and for her to never come back to you flock and blah blah blah.
Alright, I get it. You don't have to be so mean about it. Honestly, I thought after a few years she would come to her senses and come back. The times that I would go visit Scylla and ask about her, she would tell me your relationship with Mosura has been a rocky one, but Scylla couldn't do much, but be there for her and you apparently. I'm a mature Alpha and will admit I made some mistakes. I was just hoping she would come back for me to apologize. My brother made it very clear I might have overreacted a little.
A little? He asked.
Her eyes narrowed at him.
Just saying. All Mosura wanted was your support, but you decided to throw a fit.
It was different back then and now that the world is at peace once again, there's no reason for me to be upset with her anymore.
Great, wonderful, don't really care. Why don't you go find her and settle things then while I'm not there.
I don't know where she is and what makes you think she wants to see me.
If she can sense you, you can sense her so I highly doubt it won't take you long to find her. Plus, your stupid twin Scylla should be there with her as well. One annoying Happy Reunion. He said, sarcastically. And you know Mosura, she's not going to push you away.
She laughed. Are you sure you want me to go. I mean I'm sure you dealing with Scylla is bad enough, but now with me as well?
I'm doing this for Mosura. Believe it or not, I do love her and trust me, she would want nothing more, but to reconnect with you.
How noble of you. I see hanging around Mosura made you soft….She looked down and poked his belly….in more ways than one.
He growled. Will you get going before I toss you in the deep part of the ocean?
She hissed, showing off her snake-like tongue. One more question. What other kaijus are out here? I don't want to be flying around only to get ambushed.
Don't worry, they are not allowed to kill unless it's self-defense. There's the Stupid Squid-
-Scylla-
Whatever, a female parasite, she might cause some trouble so it's best to stay away from her. There's an old chattering Sloth, a dumb fire bird, an octopus, a dragon-serpent I have yet to encounter, but she's out there somewhere and a mountain kaiju-
Her eyes lit up. Did you say Mountain Kaiju?
Yes, why?
Oooh, I love those Kaijus. The females are so beautiful and we help each other out when it comes to grooming. They can't reach their backs that well so it's hard to garden the plants so that's where we come in. We would pick out all the tiny critters that would eat their flowers and trees and trim the plants if they were getting too long and help spread the plants' seeds to grow In empty spots. In return, we get all the critters we can eat and their trees and flowers are a great treat to eat for a boost of energy. She giggled. Is the Mountain Kaiju female?
He wanted to chuckle. No, male.
She huffed. Darn, well it will do for now I guess. The males aren't that bad when it comes to beauty like their wonderful females.
He should warn her about the Parasite. If The Muto was using Methuselah for her own sick games, there's no way she was going to let someone else go near him….Anymore questions.
She smiled. Nope. I should get going. I really missed Scylla, maybe she can help me fix things with Mosura.
You mean Rainbow? He asked.
She sighed sadly. Does she really want to see me?
Just go and find out yourself. He said, getting annoyed.
She nodded before flying back into the air. It was a bit of a struggle since her wings were wet, but she managed to catch air and headed out to find his home. He shook his head. Females….He thought out loud. Thanking his lucky stars he wasn't one of them. They were so unpredictable and emotional and-
Where the hell is Azure?
He looked behind his back to see the Prince not there again and to turn back to the beach to see him swimming over to the shoreline again. Most of the humans were already gone with only a few brave enough to stay and take pictures.
Azure, get back here! He shouted.
His tail swung over and scooped up the little Prince and away from the humans.
(Si-ie?) He whined.
I told you not to go near them. He said, upset.
(But I wanted to see what they look like up close)
Why in the world do you want to do that? He asked.
(Because I heard them. They wanted to get a better look at me)
His eyes widened. You understood them?
He frowned as if he was in trouble, but nodded. (One said he had a snack. They were talking about you too) He said. (Did you not hear them?)
He growled and grabbed Azure with his mouth and went back under water. The last thing he wants is the attention the humans were giving Azure. Deep underwater, he didn't let Azure go because he saw this as a great opportunity to swim as fast as he could without the Prince slowing him down. (Well, your mother will be happy to know you can understand humans as well.)
Azure blinked. (You can't?)
(Nope, in fact you and your mother are the only ones who can. All I hear is just white noise)
Azure laughed. (So are we going to meet another one of Mama's friends)
(I'm happy to say we're done with the meet and greet with all of your Mother's friends. I'm going to take you to a gravesite now) He thought. Though he was not sure if it's still there or not. That bomb they planted in his Kingdom did a lot of damage. Not only did he lose his home, the gravesite where he had Anguirus' bones were buried under all the debris. His plan is to get Azure to help him find some of the remains since he was small enough to fit in tight places.
(A gravesite?)
He nodded as they collided with a school of fish. (Yes, it holds the bones of your Sire's dearest companion)...
