If you don't like 30 years before then that's fine, you don't need to tell everybody about it with vulgar language, there are underage people who read the comments and they don't need read stuff like that.

Secondly I'm not changing the story because some random doesn't like the story. Don't like it then go and read something else. Nobody is forcing you read this.

I'm writing this because I like it! Not for any other reason, this simply is self indulgent nonsense. It's a fanfic! Not something offensive.

Luffy's POV

Luffy was fixated on several large slabs of meat on a plate, it was just sat there ripe for the taking. The straw-hat captain was hidden behind a barrel in a pantry cupboard, the other raven next to him was grinning almost rubbing his hands together in anticipation, but his bandaged hands wouldn't let him.

The chiefs were milling around the kitchen unaware of the boys stretched out arm, it continued to snake it's way towards its prey and struck out clamping round the plate making the pork jostle.

His arm snapped back towards him, bringing the meat with it. They both grinned delightfully, stuffing the pork steaks into their mouths eagerly, making quick work of them.

"Hey there something over there, grab that too"

Dragon jerked his head towards a large bowl of rice and prawns. Luffy nodded excitedly, throwing his arm at the next target, his hand found it's way round the meal and he brought it back to them.

They crammed that into the their jaws too, all the while fighting over the amount they got between them.

The next ten minutes was spent stealing food from a growing panicked kitchen staff, who had noticed the food disappearing. At first the cooks had accused each other, until they all had had a dish go missing and it turned into a man hunt.

"Someone's here stealing all our hard work!"

"Better catch'em before every scrap of food is gone!"

"Spread out, the thief can't be far!"

Luffy flopped over on his back contented to have a full stomach, Dragon was eyeing the cooks with interest. Maybe he was deciding what he wanted Luffy to steal next, more food was never a bad thing.

"They noticed, we should probably get going before they find us"

The boy groaned, he didn't want to move. He was nice and full, he could have quite easily fallen asleep then and there.

Dragon prodded the pirate with his foot, attempting to get him up and Luffy just grumbled more. But eventually he rolled on to his feet drowsily, having a boot shoved into his cheek wasn't very enjoyable.

The long haired raven started leading the way out of the pantry, the kid was just behind him, still dozy from the meal he had just eaten.

The kitchen staff were in a frenzy looking for them, Luffy found it all rather funny.

"Look! Somethings in the store cupboard!"

That was until a meat cleaver was thrown at his head and suddenly it wasn't so comical anymore.

"Oh crap they found us!"

Dragon shouted as another knife was lobbed in their direction, the pantry wasn't exactly spacious, dodging in such a small environment wasn't easy.

"Who are they!?"

"I dunno, stowaways perhaps?"

"It doesn't matter get'em!"

Luffy dove out of the way, knocking into several shelves as a frying pan came sailing towards him, bags of flour rained down dousing the lad in white powder.

Dragon threw himself out of the way of a huge pot with boiling water in it, hitting Luffy in the process, they lay in a heap. Soon both stumbled out of the way of a knife wielding cook, as he flew at them.

Luffy and Dragon bolted for the door, knocking a few chiefs out the way. They managed to reach the opening just as a huge hulking woman swung a huge skillet into their path. The boys hit the floor avoiding it within millimetres, sliding under the angry ladies legs, as soon as they were clear they jumped into a run once again.

The Monkey's leapt through the kitchen exit, finding themselves in the long maze of corridors once again. This time they didn't waste anytime getting lost in them again, a whole army of cooks were chasing them.

"Get back here you bastards!"

"Go away!"

Luffy retorted, he was just in front of Dragon but he heard him snort behind him, it soon turned into a amused laugh.

"Tohahaah! Don't think that's going to help Lu!"

The straw-hat captain couldn't help himself and joined in.

"Shishishi, this is kinda fun!"

"Pfft! Speak for yourself, I'm the one getting half a kitchen thrown at me!"

As if to prove the point a pan span past Luffy's shoulder, he was in stitches, this was great!

The boy spotted a T in his path, an idea formed in his mind, grinning cheerfully he threw his arm out behind him, grabbing Dragon.

"Lu wha-"

The raven sprung into the air landing on the wall in front of him, using his momentum to dash up the wall dragging his future dad with him. As he expected the chiefs couldn't all stop in time and they slammed in to the wall. Luffy pushed off the wall, back flipping over the pile of angry cooks, landing behind them.

"Warn me next time instead of grabbing me! I could have done that easy enough if you had told me!"

Dragon scolded, Luffy dropped him back on his feet, the boy burst out laughing unapologetically. They returned charging back down the corridor they had just come from, as the chiefs began to pick themselves up to continue their pursuit.

Dragon's POV

I wasn't sure how long we had been running for, long enough for my already painful ribs to start heaving even worse. My breaths were starting to get a little shaky, I wasn't unfit by any means but I was starting to get tired.

Seriously these guys needed to give up already! Not only that, I was starting to question how they still had kitchen utensils to chunk at us, where were they all coming from?

We made another sharp right, all the while our little angry hoard were hot on our heels. I risked a glance behind me, the group was thinning out slowly but surely. We were out running them, which was great and all, that was if me and Luffy could out endure them.

A left was thrown in our way, we turned the corner when we came to a dead end. We skidded to a halt; the remaining cooks were suddenly looking a lot more threatening than before.

My boy gave me a sideways look, he looked a bit worse for wear. His injuries must have been bothering him, he was covered in sweat and panting heavily. I got the impression that it wasn't just because of the excessive exercise, he was suffering from his wounds.

"Oi Dragon. I have an idea, but it might backfire on us later."

The boy said to me quietly, that was quite the feat for him. My interest was piqued, if Luffy said that then he must have been serious.

"I could knock'em out with my haki, but Whitebeard and other people with observation haki would pick up on it too."

The impending doom of enraged chiefs with knives, that we were both too badder condition to defend ourselves against. My hands were messed up and my ribs were broken, Luffy had that huge head wound, plus whatever injuries he had before. If one of us got a bad injury then we would be screwed, this was a Yonko's ship, we would have no place to escape and treat said injuries.

Or we could draw the attention of the strongest man in the world.

Well one of those things was emanate, while the other was a possibility that we may be able to hide from.

They were charging us, weapons raised and we were trapped.

"I'm gonna do it"

I nodded in agreement; this was our number one threat right now, better this than getting skewered.

Luffy unleashed a wave of powerful conqueror's haki, it hit our assailants head on, they froze on the spot, as if some invisible force was stopping them. Then all of them began to collapse one after another, hitting the wooden planks with an audible thud.

I was startled at how strong it was, when it flew through me it made my insides churn and my mind was blasted by a strong white noise. It wasn't enough to make me stumble or even get light headed really, but I still felt it and I could understand how some people couldn't stand up to it.

"Okay done..."

Luffy staggered backwards he looked dizzy; his breathing hitched, his eyes rolled back into his head, the boy fell backwards, I rushed forwards catching him with my shoulder.

"Hey Lu? Luffy you good?"

A moment later my boy pushed himself back off me, stumbling slightly as he caught his footing. He smiled at me weakly, wheezing out a tired laugh and I shook my head with a relieved sigh.

At least he was alright.

We stood there for a little while the young raven caught his breath, it would be no good if he fainted and I couldn't exactly carry him with arms in this state. Actually even with perfectly functional hands I still wouldn't be able to, the cuffs made sure of that.

And anyway, the cooks wouldn't be getting up for a while, they were out cold.

"So how do you use Conquerors haki? I know I can use it but I can't do on command."

Luffy frowned thinking for a moment, crossing his arms in concentration.

"Mmm, well it's pushing your will onto another person, I just imagine punching them really hard. Then they fall over."

I wasn't sure what I was expecting but that was pretty much what I figured and I didn't understand that explanation at all.

Imagine punching someone?

"Right... thanks that wasn't very helpful"

The boy just shrugged with indifference, then stuck his finger up his nose.

"Luffy don't pick your nose! Don't you have any manners?"

He regarded me before pulling it out of his nostril and looking at his finger in confusion.

"What am I supposed to do with it?"

I scowled at him, seriously it was like he was raised by bandits or something, they didn't have any manners either.

Luffy opted to stick it up his nose again, I looked away in disgust.

Well, that was a conversation I never thought I'd have with a teenager.

Luffy seemed to have recovered somewhat so I gestured for him to follow me around our unconscious enemies, he put his hands behind his head lazily tagging along behind

For a while we walked through the hallways with our guards up, we were both on high alert. After Luffy's Conquerors haki had been broadcast we weren't entirely sure what to expect. Yet the corridors were empty, the loud thunder of feet and shouting on top deck was now gone, leaving behind a uneasy quiet.

After a while we relaxed, chattering away to each other about nothing important, it was really nice.

When was the last time I had just chatted to someone, with no insults or threats attached?

I found myself staring down at my shackles, I felt a familiar sadness spread through my chest.

When was the last time I was allow to be a real person and not just some object my old man could try and quell his guilt with?

When was the last time I had felt anything but frustration and anger?

Since I was 16, 17 maybe? Before I was taken away from Dawn island, away from my friends, away from my home.

Things were so much simpler back then. Hunting giant dangerous animals, hanging out in grey terminal with friends, stealing stuff from the nobles from High town.

I looked over at Luffy, smiling at his dorky carefree attitude. Why wouldn't future me want to know this stupid reckless kid? He was full of so much life; he was so nice...

A kid I realised I wanted to raise, to watch grow and look after.

Maybe this was my chance, it's not like future me was the me now. I still had a chance. My boy had a chance at not being tormented by the old geezer the way I was. But if I raised him, would he even be the same person?

Maybe he could live on the island, I would have to let the old fart take him first, he could do whatever he did with him as a baby, leave him the care of whoever, but I would see him regularly and make sure he wasn't 'trained' the way I was.

As long as I supported his dream to be a pirate and he set sail from Dawn island when he was supposed to then things would probably be fine.

I nodded satisfied with those thoughts.

Maybe I should ask him about his upbringing?

"Oh, look not so old guy found us."

I blinked, wait what did Luffy say?

I was in such deep thought that I must have misheard him...

My eyes slowly fixed on a pair of black boots; they definitely weren't Luffy's. They were too big, also Luffy wasn't wearing boots, he was wearing sandals.

Then they didn't belong to him.

Sweat started to bead on my forehead as the reality of the situation kicked in, my gaze drifted half heartily to a large imposing figure. Until I was met by two pale eyes drilling holes into me, long blonde hair sat around his shoulders and his most telling feature a curved white moustache.

Yup that was Whitebeard...

We were screwed.
