Chapter 5
Tea with Anna
Truth be told, Hans always wondered what it was like to be a woman. He was fascinated by how different they were from men, but that never meant he'd actually want to have the body of one! Well, looks like the phrase, "Be careful what you wish for" is very true. He, or rather she, was 100% pure female. It was an experience to say the least. While she was dusting off the table in the parlor, Gerda approached from behind, telling her that Anna had invited her to tea with her. The nerve of that woman! It was bad enough that she was a woman and had to work at the castle, but to actually sit down and have a conversation with Anna! The line had to be drawn. Still, there was no point in resisting. Hans knew that Helga was out there somewhere, watching her every move. If she wanted her body back, she had to cooperate. Gerda led Hans to the courtyard, where a Anna sat at a table with a pot of tea, cups, and some cookies. Upon seeing Hans, she smiled.
"Hello, Heidi! Thank you for joining me. Since you're new to the castle, I thought I'd take the time to get to know you a little better."
Hans knew that she couldn't tell the truth about her situation. Not only would Anna not believe her, but it would kill any chances she had at becoming a man again. As awful as it was, she had to play along.
Hans took a seat at the table, watching as Gerda poured both her and Anna a cup of tea. Once Gerda left, Anna began the conversation.
"It's so lovely out today, don't you think?"
"It is," Hans replied.
"I think spring is my favorite season! What's yours?"
"Winter," Hans said. She honestly didn't care about the seasons.
"Really? My sister Elsa would love you! She loves the cold! For obvious reasons of course haha."
That annoying laugh. It was enough to peel away at Hans' skin. Hopefully this little tea party wouldn't last too long. The less time she had to spend in Anna's company, the better.
"So how long have you lived in Arendelle, Heidi?"
"Since I was a child. My family moved here from France."
"That's interesting! Do you know any French?"
"No, I don't."
"That's OK. But that would be a fun language to learn. I've always loved France, especially Paris. It's the city of romance, you know?"
Hans wanted to groan. This was ludicrous.
"Since I became Queen, I've been there a few times. The people there are so friendly."
"This fall my fiancée and I are getting married. I think we might plan a trip out there."
So, Anna found true love after all? How cute.
"Speaking of which, here he comes now!" Anna said.
Hans turned around and saw a tall, muscular man approach. She recognized him as the same man that almost attacked him on the ship years ago, after summer was restored to Arendelle. So this was the man who won Anna's heart. Hans watched as the man gave Anna a kiss on the lips, giving her a smile once he was through.
"Kristoff, this is Heidi. She's one of the new maids of the castle," Anna said.
"It's a pleasure to meet you, Heidi," Kristoff said. "How are you liking the castle?"
"It's nice," Hans said.
Hans watched as Anna and Kristoff interacted with each other. They were obviously deeply in love. She had to admit that it was kind of cute. What was she saying? This female brain must be getting to her. After Kristoff left, Anna and Hans continued their time together. Every minute that she had to listen to Anna talk was murder on her ears, but she played along anyway. By the time it an hour had gone by, Hans could tell that Anna really enjoyed the conversation.
"Well, this was nice. I always enjoy girl talk. But unfortunately, duty calls. I'll see you around, Heidi. Thank you for talking with me."
"Don't mention it," Heidi said. No seriously, please don't ever mention this again.
When Hans returned to her chambers, she sighed. "That was an agonizing experience," she said. She knew that she had to get back to work soon, but maybe she could get in a nap before somebody noticed that she was missing. Before too long, Hans drifted off to sleep, still thinking about Anna and how kind she was to her. If she had known that she was really Hans of the Southern Isles, she wouldn't be so pleasant.
A/N: It's a short chapter I know, but I feel like I owed you guys something, since I've been too busy to write lately. Anyway, are there any feminine things that you'd like to see "Heidi" try? I was going to make the next few chapters fun ones.
