Episode 1: Fate

私たちの運命は絡み合っている

20 years later

Fate has a strange way of reconnecting the dots which had once been erased. It links up the destinies of souls which were long gone and expired, and no one has any idea as to how it happens, or why it happens.

Just this way, a few chosen souls were resurrected; given birth to again and nurtured again; taught how to fight again on the land which didn't experience the rumbling.

Perhaps this little island, Horizon, had saved itself from being trampled on due to belonging to the Eldian race itself and its minuscule size. The bare number of its population had watched the world burn and shed blood under the wishes of Eren Jaeger.

And each and every person of Horizon hated Eren Jaeger and Paradis with all their might.

Yes, they should've been joyful that nobody would be discriminated against anymore by other races, but what they focused on was the part that the entire world had been crushed to death. Their little island was protected from all kinds of hate since it was still developing, and therefore, they didn't know what the ultimate loathing was faced by other Eldians in the world.

What they believed was there should be humanity to love, or even hate. Now that there was barely any left, they wanted to avenge the world.

As time passed by, people immigrated to the rest of the empty world, started their lives there, and spread the Horizonal bloodline across the globe. The land, which was earlier called Marley, was now under Horizon. Other than the Paradis Island, the only bloodline that ruled the world was Horizonal.

However, 20 years ago, the military forces of Paradis had landed on the place the Founding titan was last seen in, searching for casualties and struggling lives. Call it their dismay or relief, but the only thing they could retrieve was the Founding titan's head and no living people. And so, the unhinged head was taken back to Paradis.

Currently, in Marley, the Horizonals were getting trained for possible battles with Paradis Island, and there were our soldiers, perhaps reincarnated, perhaps to complete the job that had been left undone.

"Attention!" the trainer, Dave Byron, yelled at the recruits that had been training for the past three years.

The nineteen-year-old Erwin slammed his right hand onto the left side of his chest, straightening up, and his fellow recruits followed.

"I think it's finally the day we get selected to be in the army!" Sasha chirped, smiling brightly.

"I'm so not interested," Levi spoke, staring right ahead at Dave.

"Oh, come on! We get to slaughter those Island Devils!" Connie zealously spoke.

"I'm only here because my mom insisted me to go," Jean whispered.

"Huh? This could be the fight of a lifetime!" Hange joined in the conversation.

"I'm not too keen about the bloodshed... I just want to know what happened there," Armin added.

"Do I hear whispers there?" Dave yelled at the group attentively standing amidst the crowd of other hundred recruits.

Armin and Connie furiously shook their heads.

And that's when Mikasa spoke up, focused and calm, "I'm just going there to ruin all of his plans..."

"Yeah!" Hange cheered.

"I won't let Eren Jaeger's soul rest in peace."

Levi and Hange: 18

Mikasa, Armin, Sasha, Jean, and Connie: 17

I wanted to change the characters' names and then link them with their previous births' names, but then it would've been far too confusing for all of us. So I put the same names. I know, it sounds kind of cheesy, but the reincarnation trope was necessary for this book lmao.
