Jujutsu Kaisen: The Forgotten Clan

Bonus Chapter A: Mild Fluff

Point of View: Lithuila, Age 8, Canada

Tomorrow is my first day at the new school. It is around 8:00 pm, my mind is running ten miles a minute, my stomach keeps gurgling, and mum insists I introduce myself to at least one person at school. It does not help that weird stuff has started happening at the house: my father mysteriously disappearing, Zink getting lost in the forest despite having a keen sense of direction, and a Grade-3 curse lives inside my closet. Mum does not sleep well at night and insists my father has not returned from his mission.

Update, I survived my first day of school! Go me. Mum dropped me off on her way to Zink and Zyler's school, left me a note in my lunch box, and I might have a new friend. No, I am not referring to the three girls who ignored me during lunch. I am referring to this red-headed boy who looks at the ground, mumbles to himself, then walks away from whoever approaches him. Being ignored makes my stomach do somersaults, my eyes turn towards the floor, and occasionally I blush. At least I can get lost inside of a good book and escape reality for a few minutes. I will introduce myself to the redhead tomorrow.

Point of View: Simon, Age 8, Canada

Today was interesting because we have two new students at school. The girl was curt when she introduced herself during class. She also seems very quiet, yet, I get butterflies in my stomach and a dry mouth when I am around her. At the same time, I feel oddly safe when I am near her. When she approached a group of girls at lunch, they ignored her. She didn't seem phased, went outside, and read a book. I am going to introduce myself tomorrow!

The boy is a jerk, I can tell already. He is friends with Casey...someone I had a crush on once. But, I have learned Casey is not nice. He pushes me on the playground during recess, calls me names, and belittles me for no reason. I sigh while at school to avoid further ridicule from Casey. Then I cry myself to sleep, almost every night. All feelings are valid!

Lithuila and Simon's Friendship Begins

"Hey, you are the redheaded kid who is shy, correct?"

"Umm, yes? My name is Simon, for the record."

"Lithuila. Sorry for calling you redheaded. Mind if I eat with you?"

Oh great! Here comes another rejection; keep smiling Lithuila, smile through the pain.

"Take whatever seat you want. You don't have almonds on you by chance?"

"No, I have a peanut butter sandwich though. Will that be an issue?"

Calm down Simon, you don't want to scare Lithuila off. It is important to share information about yourself though. She sat down.

"I have heard about people being allergic to peanuts, but you are the first person I have met who is allergic to almonds. Why is your face the same color as your hair?"

"No reason other than you intimidate me...Sorry, that was rude. Are you allergic to anything?"

"Roses and bullies."

"Hmm?"

"Well, roses make my throat itch, and bullies are mean people."

A Few Months Later

(Why is Lithuila late for school, again? This is her third tardy in a week. And she has been avoiding the woods on our walk home, looking over her shoulder every time we go outside, and she got into a yelling match when the P.E. teacher told her to wake up during class. She mentioned her eldest brother keeps getting hurt too.)

"I know what you are going to ask. Today I woke up late and here I am ten minutes late for school."

"What happened? Stop lying to me, please."

"Simon and Lithuila, stop talking with each other. Get back to your math problems."

"Sorry, Miss Flanagan."

...

"I will tell you more information at lunch."

(Sure, I can't disclose how my family is a group of sorcerers who can see curses. That will endanger you, your family, and bring more harm to my family. I can tell you what happened with my brother and father. Who knows, maybe your father or mother can help us out. They are former social services agents after all.)

Lunchtime

"Start talking, and share what you want."

"I might be moving in the next couple of weeks. Strange things have been happening at my house and...I don't know. When weird stuff happens at my house, my family and I move. That is why we are living in Canada."

"Ooh. Where did you live before?"

"Japan."

"Moving is not all that bad...why don't you want to move? You are about to cry."

"Because I have finally made a new friend who is not a blood relative of mine! And I am tired of running away when things get weird around my house. I want to stay in Canada! There is more room to run away and act like a kid. The school is not that bad, my house is next to a forest, and...I will see you later. Sniff"
