Chapter V- Frank
The next day came very quick for the boy genius yesterday by all accounts he could say was one of the most successful despite Karmi not managing to tell him the person behind the mask how she felt. But aside from that everything went very smoothly in his view, the only problem that could be his aunt now teasing him about not telling her about Karmi and the fact that he now has success with 3 girls. All in all he hoped that this wouldn't go to his friends whom were now present at the café.
"Soo how was yesterday evening?" Honey Lemon asked.
"Ohh, everything went very well with all of us." He said.
"Heard that now there are 3 girls whom you could choose from." Fred said shocking him nearly chocking with his milk.
"Fred!"
"Come on I see how close you are with Professor Granville's niece much closer then with Megan one could declare."
"Megan and I are only friends as for Emma, Professor Granville told me to be her guide, don't know why making so many theories."
"Freddie is just joking Hiro we know that you and Karmi are a thing." Honey Lemon said making the boy blush, it is true that she doesn't know that his fabled captain is actually him but he knows that she likes him and not his alter ego.
"Yet you can't deny the fact that Emma is really something I really like the way she did my hair and talked while we were in the bathroom." Honey Lemon said.
"And the leaflet on dental hygiene it really is interesting." Wasabi said.
"Wonder what you would say if you would find out about her secret." Hiro whispered to himself.
"One can't deny that she is a nice person, yet I wonder why she seems to have a veil of mystery surrounding her." GoGo said drinking from her coffee.
"If you would only know."
"Anyways wonder what is she doing right now?" Fred asked.
"She is right there." Baymax said pointing outside before entering inside.
"Hey, mystery girl, just talking about you." Fred said going near her.
"Really?" She asked confused.
"Sure wonder what is your program for the next days, you should really come to my place we could discuss topic about heroes and comics." Fred said making GoGo annoyed.
"Ahh, sure?" She said not too convincing although he bought it and dragged her to the rest.
"Not too convincing I could tell." GoGo said.
"I am not too much in comics and super heroes." She whispered to her.
"Take my advice, find another activity or pretend to listen." She whispered.
"Thanks."
"And Emma what is the activity you would like to do today?" Honey Lemon said.
"Well I was invited to go by at Megan's house with Hiro."
"Ohh gathering we could do this as well at your place." Fred said.
"I doubt that my aunt will agree, if it isn't for a good reason."
"Really, like aunt, like niece." GoGo commented.
"Ohh no problem there, my place next time." Fred said going near her.
"Fred, give her some space."
"By the way Honey Lemon did you liked the style I did yesterday for your hair." She asked.
"Oh yes it was great we should do this more often while you stay here." She said.
"That is a promise. However I could do it right now if you want." She said with a smile.
"Ohh yes." The Latina said excited and the girl went behind her and started to braid her hair.
"And so what did you intended to do today?" Wasabi asked.
"Today my aunt will be at a special meeting, so I will have my program free, of course I want to help her whenever I could and when she needs."
"You surely are someone who wish the best for her aunt, reminds me of someone." Cass said with a smirk coming to them.
"What can I say me and my siblings do have a special bond."
"How lovely." She said not been attentive and some sting her "Auch!"
"On a scale to 1 to 10 how would you catalogue the pain?" Baymax asked.
"Hey it's nothing." She said showing her front finger that was bleeding a bit and someone sensed it and tried to keep herself calm. "Still could you bring her a small bandage?"
"Argh." Emma said feeling an urge she was trying to keep in check and the boy noticed.
"Ah Emma are you alright?" Hiro asked concerned since it was similar to what was yesterday and it wasn't only him.
"H-Hiro could you show me, where the bathroom is?" She asked with a hard voice.
"What is going on?" GoGo asked.
"Right away." He said taking her by the shoulder and went to the door to the living room before turning to the robot.
"Baymax take care of Aunt Cass I will be right back." He ordered and the robot complied.
"What just happened?" Wasabi asked confused.
"Don't know but it was weird." GoGo said now suspicious about the scene.
Upstairs the boy led the girl to the bathroom and once there the girl burst in and immediately closed the door, she stayed there for some amount of time.
"Emma, are you alright there?" Hiro asked concerned.
"Almost."
"Are you sure you stayed there for some minutes already." He said opening the door and seeing her submerging her head under the water in the sink.
"What are you doing?!" He asked before she lifted her head completely wet.
"Sorry this kind of helps when I sense blood, I usually can restrain myself, but it isn't always the case." Emma said.
"Well I guess that the vampire part also has a say, despite you trying to restrain yourself not to mention the fact that maybe sometimes you have to." He said before she submerged her head in the water again.
"And yet." Hiro said forcing her out of the water "There is a difference between restraining yourself and drowning. And what you do now is drowning yourself."
"I know….sorry about that." She said calming herself.
"I guess that even half-vampires need to feed themselves isn't it?"
"Unfortunately, but it isn't always the case, there are also replacements for blood."
"You told me, Karmi and Megan that there are several ways like consuming juices and syrups that are from red fruits that look like blood."
"There is also a special vampire tea that replaces it and helps them to regenerate faster if wounded or hurt works on dhampirs as well but has some side effects if humans consume them by mistake."
"What kind of side effects?" Hiro asked.
"It gives them vampire abilities for 2 hours and might influence their sleep for 3 days." She explains taking a towel to clean herself from the water.
"Good to know. Heh, let's just take Baymax and go then, so that there wouldn't be other incidents for the moment." Hiro said.
"You know I believe that this day wouldn't go too well."
"Well for the moment let's make sure the others wouldn't find out about your secret, until the best moment arises."
"That and you know that I told you yesterday that you should also find the moment when you should tell Karmi about your secret."
"Don't worry that will come eventually for me as well. But for now let's keep your secret between me, Baymax, Karmi and Megan." He said helping her out of the bathroom going downstairs and when they came Baymax finished treating her aunt's finger.
"Aunt Cass we will go outside we will see later. Come Baymax." Hiro said and the robot followed them.
"Alright and still Emma was there something wrong that you needed to go to the bathroom?" Aunt Cass asked.
"And no, it wasn't something out of ordinary just a small dizziness, that's all." She said.
"That would be quite."
"Let's go Baymax." Hiro started taking him by one of the fingers and the 3 in a rush went outside.
"Hmm now that was really weird." GoGo said with a bit of suspicion now.
"Oh come on GoGo it's not like Hiro and Emma are hiding something." Honey Lemon said and yet the tomboy wasn't too sure about this.
A bit later in Megan's room
"Well this small event could be declared now as a nearly close call." Karmi said through the video chat on Baymax's belly.
"You can say that again, I can already imagine what would be if they would find out too soon." Emma commented.
"How would they react in your view?" Megan asked.
"Wasabi would freak out; Honey Lemon would be scared to death; GoGo will turn defensive and Fred would surely bombard me with questions inspired from comics. Eeeh." She said shrugging surely not going to like the questions that comic book lover would throw at her.
"That now is the most accurate cases that would happen." Hiro commented.
"Hey even with that, it's not like the end of everything. I mean sure we were all freaked out about this, when we found out about your secret and we barely met you." Megan said.
"You know the main reason I don't want to tell about this is because one could easily go on judging by the stereotypes and wouldn't listen aside from the fit of panic that could easily follow." Emma explained.
"Well the thing is you do exactly what must be done, I mean with such a secret, who wouldn't do this? Aside from that my parents would totally freak out at the idea that I befriended someone who is supernatural creature, which is thought to be a myth." Karmi asked.
"They wouldn't accept that for sure."
"Well due to an event which I don't want to talk about, and it is unpleasant for me especially, they surely wouldn't." She said not linking to remember what happened and the half-vampire girl, Hiro and Megan knew what was about and didn't want to press it.
"You aren't the only one." Megan said not liking the thought of what her father would start to do, probably starting every Friday night with a specialty that includes garlic.
"But hey even with that, I don't have anything against you. Especially that I believe for many it is great to know a real supernatural creature despite living in a world where they aren't supposed to be around." She said.
"A twist of irony that they are also around I would add. But not in the way they are portrayed."
"That is now a double paradox." Hiro said before anyone started to giggle not knowing that outside the house there was someone on the street approaching the house.
"Hey you know I could also try to start a fanfiction or regular story that includes vampires and supernatural since I am interested in journalism." Megan said.
"Not the only one there, I am still trying to find a good topic." Karmi added.
"That, on the condition if you accept the exclusion of some secrets, which I must not tell." She said with a smirk.
"Sure no problem. We know about the laws of the vampires and the hunters and don't want to risk." Megan said.
"Well then maybe we ca…" She stopped sensing with her sharp ears something outside and was petrified and the others noticed.
"Ah, Emma is something wrong? Hello." Karmi asked while Megan waved her hand before her but it was as if she was in a trance.
"You really start to be creepy." Megan said before her eyes snapped and had a terrified face.
"It can't be him." She said terrified starting to tremble.
"Him? What do you?" Hiro asked before with lightening speed went behind Hiro and Megan placing their hands on their mouths to not speak.
"Baymax put the call on silent!" She ordered.
"Wait what is….." Baymax complied.
"Hey…..what is…going on?" Hiro asked trying to speak but not before the one holding him and Megan lifted the pointing finger of her right hand for the blinders to go down and for none to see both from inside and outside.
"Emma….what on Earth-" Megan started trying to speak.
"I will tell you if none of you will make too much noise." She whispered and each complied.
"Should I continue the video chat?" Baymax asked.
"Yes but on low volume." She ordered and Baymax complied for Karmi to continue now wanting answers for the sudden actions alongside the other 2 physically present.
"Alright I need to ask, what was that all about?" Karmi asked.
"What was with all this rush and panic?" Hiro asked seeing her biting her lip as if been afraid of something.
"Ah yeah, sorry about that, it's just that I can't let myself be seen by someone." She said trying to calm herself.
"What do you mean by that and who is this someone?" Asked Megan.
"Ahh yeah I didn't mention to any of you, but there was another reason why I came here it isn't only to visit my aunt." She started feeling ashamed now for keeping this secret and sad by having this second motive "The second one is to hide."
"Hide, from whom?" Hiro asked.
"Frank Schnecker, a radical hunter that is outside." She said and Baymax alongside Hiro and Megan went to the window and lifted the blinders to see the man in long coat on the streets.
"That man who is wearing a long coat when it is nearly boiling hot?" Karmi asked.
"Yes."
"What is the deal with him?"
"He wants I believe to hunt me down." She said tracking everyone's attention.
"Wait what do you mean hunt you?" Megan asked while the dhampir girl rubbed the back of her head on how to explain it.
"It happened after school was finished one evening I was walking back home in London when I heard a commotion on an alley it was once of my former classmates from high school whom we stayed in the same bench and kept in touch with, Rebecca Woods, was attacked by a thug welding a knife. Not wanting to let her alone I went there to help her but I had to use my vampire abilities in order to help her including biting the thug's arm to make him drop the knife and making a face that scared him. While I did that and went to help Rebecca I haven't noticed that Frank was also on the streets and saw the situation he thought that I was after the girl and so I had to flee the scene with my classmate when he was ready to attack I believe wither with a wooden stake, garlic or Holy Water and since then during the evenings I had to watch out for him so he wouldn't find me." She explained.
"But this isn't a reason for him to hunt you." Hiro commented.
"You haven't done anything wrong." Karmi added.
"Didn't he saw the thug that attacked first?" Megan commented.
"I don't think he cared, because he is a radical." Emma said.
"What do you mean he is a radical?" Hiro asked.
"The hunter societies that deal with the supernatural no matter if it they are vampires, were-creatures or others must work together, however they aren't homogenous in thinking, they are divided between the moderates whom my father, uncle and most of my relatives and others are part off. They are the ones who can collaborate in hunting down rogue supernatural creatures with members of that race. But the radicals don't accept that help from friendly ones, they consider all of them enemies that can't be trusted, this of course depends on background of the members." Emma explained.
"How is the background in both cases?" Karmi asked.
"Well among the moderates there are families with long traditions of hunting different creatures, but with the time they became softer while others are ones who witnessed and encountered those creatures and joined the societies to either study and were near someone who is already a senior or that unintentionally witnessed a supernatural event and aided a hunter or friendly creature some of them in my case are even dhampirs or creatures who had a human parent. In the case of the radicals there are also families with long tradition of monster hunting but they stick to old traditions, old ways and beliefs while others had a bad encounter with a creature that resulted in the death of someone close to them or they themselves were attacked by a rogue one and they joined the more radical branch, they usually with reluctance let a creature that helped fellow hunters alone."
"And what is his case?" Karmi asked.
"20 years ago he lost a friend because of an ancient 300 year old vampire and he witnessed it and swore revenge. It took him time till he found and put down the culprit but along the way he put down other 6 vampires that went rogue or crazy 2 of them exposing themselves during the night other 3 were haunting the places where they were usually attacking people at night and the last one before the one he was looking liked to scare children and teenagers in the night. And those were the first 6 before finding the one he was looking but in total he got a record of 12."
"12 full vampires in 20 years he probably got a screw loose because of it." Karmi commented before thinking if the first 6 alongside the ancient one whom he looked for had a reason to put them out what of the others that got him to the number 12.
"Wait a minute you said that the first 6 with the one he wanted revenge 7 had gone crazy or rogue. What about the others the he reached the number 12?" Karmi asked.
"He didn't mention the reason for the action." She started while all looked at one another.
"What do you mean by that?" Hiro asked.
"Many said that he simply found them and put them down, he researched and followed them till he managed to find them."
"Emma do you know what this means?" Megan asked tracking her attention."Sure, vampires, creatures of the night are portrayed as evil, and bad, and devilish this is the stereotype."
"Well not all are devilish and evil; some of them are actually the contrary."
"EXACTLY! You had shown us, not all of them are bad there is quite a number of them who what exactly do. Try to be like all the other people, normal. And from what I can tell this action makes them human like all of us and probably even if they have to be slain or even better, cured, they can find and are able to have a final rest. And if there is something I have to comment is that the first ones he hunted down might have been legit. But for the others they probably did one thing, and that is go on with their lives and be like normal people, in other words, behave like people not like the monsters they are portrayed. They probably had exposed themselves by accident or simply had to help someone they knew, like it was in your case. And by all intens what you did was the action of a normal person, not of a monster. What he does is simply out of blind hatred and revenge for a category of people who are described by stereotype not taking into accounts that some take a different approach. Your mother and you personally are an example of that different approach."
"Wish this view to be shared among more people, by all accounts I never said anything about what I am because many would believe and follow the stereotypes that they are monsters." She started, taking a seat and a tear started to come down from her right cheek "Including me." She placed her fingers trying to hold on her tears while all looked at her and felt sorry.
"You are not a monster." Karmi said with a determined voice tracking her attention "If there is anything I know is that everyone could be and become a monster only by the actions of what someone does. I mean what is a monster? A hideous creature that has some unnatural powers, or is someone who is mutated into one willingly or forcibly, NO! It is not the aspect or what species you are or how you look, it is the actions that one takes to harm others or use the good things that others want to do so they would use it for evil purposes to hurt others. And I know what I am saying because I went through this experience and ignored someone who only wanted to open my eyes and to help me. And from what I can declare you are anything but a monster, what you did was the right thing because you considered that it was right, and that someone had to help. What you did was not the action of a monster but of a good person and this is what you are; you are a good person and also a good friend. If he can't see this then he is the one who got a problem." Karmi said making the half-vampire girl smile.
"Thanks for the encouragement."
"Problem is however, how we are going to get Frank off your back." Hiro asked.
"The best possibility is only if I hypnotize him so he would forget everything about me completely. Meaning that I must erase the memory of when he saw me for the first time."
"The best way is now only if you get help from Big Hero 6." Karmi said.
"I don't know if they will accept to help me thinking that they never encountered someone who is a half-vampire and the irony is they have to help not the hunter who has to hunt the evil creature but the pray." She said trying to not mention the fact that Hiro is a member of Big Hero 6 and his fabled captain alongside him and Megan.
"You don't need to worry they will help you if we explain everything, however for the moment we need to find a way to get you to Professor Granville so she could take you home for the moment to be safe while they deal with him." Hiro said.
"Problem is how are we going to do it, by all accounts if he is so determined to get you, going outside in this form is out of the question despite you not dying by burning because of the sun but having a slight irritation if you don't have the ring that is also faulty due to the crack in the crystal." Megan said thinking for a bit on how to solve this before Karmi found an answer.
"Wait, in different vampire stories and media I know that they are able to shape-shift isn't?"
"Yes that's true they are able to shape-shift."
"Is it possible for half-vampires as well?"
"Yes we can as well."
"Karmi what do you want to point out?" Megan said.
"What I want to say is that you can try to shape-shift into an animal that is totally inconspicuous and could go outside without notice."
"Wait that might work, but from what I know most vampires could shape-shift mainly into bats, from what I can tell a bat going out of my room in broad daylight, in the city is surely not inconspicuous and it will be uncomfortable for you to stay if we carry you in our backpacks, which will mean, animal cruelty, and it's also illegal to harm bats." Megan said thinking about the many flaws in this.
"It might be illegal but it might be the best idea we got, although let's face it none of us even you wouldn't like to carry a bat in our bags." Hiro said turning to Karmi.
"But the idea it's not a bad idea I might have the answer. However I got a question, does any of you has a leash and a collar?" Emma asked confusing the group.
"Why do you need a leash and a collar?" Hiro asked.
"Well we aren't able to change into bats only." Emma said before with a hand moved before her face and in enveloped in a mist she metamorphism into a white beautiful and graceful she-wolf.
"Well this might work somehow, although you look more like a wolf rather than a dog." Hiro said.
"I believe that you never see or hear a talking animal before." She said shocking them even more.
"Not at all." Karmi said this was now another surprise for everyone.
"This is really not something usual for wolves to talk." Baymax said.
"Don't overheat your processor to think about this Baymax." Hiro ordered.
"As you wish Hiro." He said.
"Between us, hybrids between Dalmatian and German Sheppard somehow look like this so it wouldn't be a problem, not to mention the fact that there are some who own wolf-dog hybrids." She explained.
"Perfect." Megan said taking out a leash attached to a collar while the young geniuses turned to her confused.
"What I always wanted a dog of course didn't thought of a large one." She said going near Emma to place the collar around her neck.
"By the way what happened to your clothes."
"It's hard to explain."
"Let's not go into unnecessary details, anyways I will have to leave. Please call me if something happens and good luck." Karmi said.
"Thanks Karmi we will be in touch." Hiro said while the girl ended the call.
"Well let's go to SFIT and call Professor Granville to tell her about this situation, after that I will call the others to deal with Frank." Hiro said while all of them went outside where the vampire hunter stopped and put on a friendly smile and they also placed a smiles despite been forced.
"Nice dog you got never seen something like it." He said while they were passing.
"Thank you sir, I am just taking care of for a friend." Megan said with a stressed smile while accelerating the pace to get as far away from him as possible.
"Let's get a tram to get to SFIT as soon as possible." She whispered to Hiro while going to the station, although the man looked with suspicion as to why they were going so fast, as if to get away from him.
A bit later
"At last we arrived." Hiro commented now in front of the institute and ready to enter.
"Let's get inside now." Megan said while Hiro used his student card to open the door for them to enter once inside Emma switched back to her normal form and still having the collar around her neck.
"Guys."
"Right away." Megan said getting the collar off her.
"We were lucky that today is only Friday and it's still open for the moment despite my aunt been away."
"For now let's go to a much more secluded area so you can hide while I get the others to capture him and bring him here so you could erase his memory." Hiro said before they ran towards Hiro's personal lab once inside Hiro called the Skymax so he could dress up and at the same time he called Karmi to tell her that for the moment they arrived without much trouble.
"Here my lab surely will be enough to hide you."
"You think it will be enough?"
"I am certain it will. I don't think Frank will ever think to come here and look in all the labs."
"I just hope it will be over soon, and wouldn't be any complications."
"Don't worry there will be no complications besides what could he do against non-vampires." Hiro asked.
"Not much from what I can tell because the difference between a good hunter and a bad one is that he must never say anything about vampires so he wouldn't be declared as crazy. That on one side and on the other he doesn't have experience with fighting non-vampires. I still however am concerned if this plan could work." She said.
"What could be the reason to not work?" Megan asked.
"It isn't that much the plan to not work it's the aftermath on what my mother could do." She said.
"What could your mother do aside from the fact that she is a vampire and surely one should be a fool to cross her?"
"Well my parents do love each other and love me and all my siblings it's just that my mother could sometimes go overboard regarding us and the well being of the family in general. And if one of us has trouble, for her it is concerning a lot and you probably could imagine what she could do."
"Well if we stay and think crossing a caring mother and loving wife who is also a vampire is an act of courage for the fool who is surely faced with death." Karmi commented.
"You got it; mostly I tried to be here so she wouldn't go overboard when it is on a smaller scale, however that smaller scale could make one feel uncomfortable."
"What would she do exactly?" Megan asked.
"Well my little brother Arthur had a bully in school who wouldn't leave him alone, he would always tease him with no end, not just him but also others and despite him trying to not say anything and complain about, our parents found out and my mother took action."
"What did she do exactly?" Hiro asked not liking the thought that her mother could go to the point of biting someone's neck.
"She sneaked near the house of that bully and placed a nightmare on him while he slept forcing him to relieve and show all the worst experiences and things he had done to my brother and the others for 2 nights. It changed him indeed but at what cost? From what I heard he didn't wanted to speak to anyone for a whole month almost wanting to cry when out of shame for remembering the bad things he had to the ones bullied."
"And if Frank does something stupid now with you, it means passport to the next world isn't it?" Megan said.
"I believe so, I am more concerned for what my mother would do if something stupid occurs."
"Well I am not against parents protecting their children and taking action, but even I have to say that an angry vampire mother is a good enough reason to go with this plan no matter the outcome as long as he loses interest and leaves you alone." Hiro said waiting impatiently for the Skymax to arrive.
"I believe you all are afraid of my mother right now." Emma said.
"Actually in my case I do understand your situation, my dad been the Chief of Police was very overprotective. It isn't like he doesn't do it even now sometimes, old habit die hard. But I do know the feeling when parents exaggerate with protecting. Of course he doesn't have the abilities that your mother has and I am glad for this, because between us it will be so embarrassing. Your brother probably felt the same." Megan said.
"He did." Emma said.
"Well let's hope those things will be solved very soon, all in all I can already see that it isn't quite great to have supernatural parents if one of them could go to this extent." Karmi commented.
"Between us due to the profession of my parents they have very no-nonsense attitudes when it comes to some things. For example they wouldn't quite approve of Fred's attitude even I have to say that he really goes too far sometimes despite knowing him only for a few days."
"What exactly would they think of him?" Hiro asked.
"Well for starters they would admit that he is a loyal friend and good person but his mind is too much stuck inside comic books with superheroes and different fantasies. Not to mention that he sometimes probably imagines different scenarios that involve different scripts from comic books and movies of different sorts, maybe sometimes not distinguishing fact from fiction. And yeah to be honest to a certain point I kind of have the same view."
"Between us even I have to agree on this to a certain degree." Karmi commented.
"You two are not the only ones, even GoGo would agree with this." Hiro commented.
"Karmi could you please come down." A voice from the Indian girl's line was heard.
"Coming."
"Well I have to go for now, tell me tomorrow how things have been I hope that everything will be fine. Good luck Emma." She said ending the call.
"You really need to find the best moment to tell her Hiro, seriously." Megan said.
"I wish only to find the best moment." Hiro said before the 2 Skymax arrived outside.
"Well then I have to go and put the armor on and call the others to tell them about this situation." Hiro said.
"I just hope they will listen to the explanations I have to give them." Emma said.
"They will to for sure. Megan can you stay here and keep watch while I bring the others."
"No problem." She said while Hiro and Baymax left the lab to go outside to the 2 robots to put their armours on.
"I don't know how to comment but I think for some of you, those days were probably the craziest of the entire summer."
"Well what can one say? None of us, Hiro, Karmi and me never expected to befriend someone who is a half-vampire, much less for the rest of Big Hero 6 having to rescue one."
"I can already tell that you like this fact isn't it."
"Emma who doesn't like this, you surely noticed that all 3 of us are really excited about the fact that we befriended a supernatural creature. And by all accounts we will be damned if we lose you, the first supernatural creature we ever met." She said while both of them started to laugh.
"Hopefully the others will think the same."
"Hey it's not like you never stayed with each of them, besides they should already realize that if you wanted to bite someone you would have done when you got the opportunity when you were with one of them. For example you stayed with Hiro just, the 2 of you and didn't harm him in any way."
"And now it is only the 2 of us."
"Exactly, besides if we were to believe the stereotype you should have already bit me." Megan commented making Emma laugh.
"True."
Outside after Hiro and Baymax had equipped themselves they immediately took to the skies of the city and activated him com link to call the others and their faces appeared on his visor.
"Guys come in." Hiro called.
"Hiro what are you doing, you aren't on a mission without us aren't you?" Fred asked.
"We got a situation and I need you to gather and get to SFIT." Hiro said
"For what purpose." Wasabi asked.
"It's about Emma, but it's complicated we will tell you everything needed when we all gather. Can you come?" Hiro said.
"On our way." GoGo answered.
"Still what is the issue with her?" Honey Lemon asked concerned.
"You will find out soon." He said ending the call not knowing that the vampire hunter was ready to enter the school immediately after taking to the skies.
In the meantime
"Wonder how long will it take till they will arrive?"
"Hopefully not too long." Megan said before feeling her neck a bit dried.
"Would you like to get a soda? I saw a vendor machine on our way here."
"Sure no problem I will stay here." She said.
"What flavor would you like? Berries, grapes, cherry?"
"Soda water or oranges, or anything you find." Emma said while Megan got on her feet from the inflammable chair and went to the door.
"Would you like bloody oranges or normal oranges if I find it?" She asked.
"Any kind, it wouldn't be a problem."
"Alright be right back." She said moving at a rapid pace through the halls leaving the main hall of the labs not knowing that Frank was behind the corner on the other side and now armed with a miniature crossbow that had a syringe with a purple substance in it to incapacitate, a creature of the night.
"Let's see." Megan said to herself reaching the vendor machine and looked on each raft to see what kind of soda and to her luck there was also bloody orange soda.
"Wonder if this is because Professor Granville is related to vampire hunters did she place this kind of soda here." She said to herself taking out a two dollar bills and ordered one alongside a cherry one, just in case, alongside a cola for her.
"Well then this will do." She said to herself placing the extra ones in her backpack while moving back to the labs and opened her own to drink however when she got to the corner she noticed the hunter at the ready with a small crossbow.
"Oh no." Megan said tracking the attention of the man while the girl immediately moved out of sight placing herself against the wall thinking on how to solve this while the hunter went back to his work.
"What can I do, what can I do?" Megan said to herself while holding her can in both hands before realizing something.
"Wait a minute that's it." She said to herself with a smirk.
"Here at last, once I incapacitate you, you will tell me the location of where is your master." He said to himself getting his hand on the handler before hearing some footsteps and immediately retracted her small crossbow to look in the direction to see a 14 year old girl.
"God I can't believe that my brother left his book in the library here. Still I really do hope to one day come and attend this institute, it really is amazing." She said with excitement trying to play dumb.
"Can I help you with something miss?" The man asked tracking Megan's attention.
"Oh no I was just passing by nothing much." She said with a smile while shaking continued to shake a soda can behind her back while also tracking the attention of the girl inside the lab.
"Oh no, Megan what are you doing?" Emma said confused and worried.
"I just need to get in here someone had forgotten something here as well." He said turning to the door but Megan didn't believe in it at all but continued to play along.
"Ahh I wouldn't do that?"
"Why not." He asked.
"Because of this." Megan said pulling out the can and opened it for the content to splash on the man's face while the girl opened immediately the door.
"Run Em! Run!" Megan shouted and the half vampire went near her.
"Not without you, close your eyes!" She ordered.
"Wha?"
"Just close them trust me." She said and she complied and in a flash they were gone right after the man cleared the soda from his face right when the 2 disappeared and immediately the 2 appeared outside before the main entrance.
"Urgh, cough-cough." Megan started to cough while Emma let her free only for her to have to lean on the wall because of dizziness.
"Sorry about that Megan this is what happens when someone experiences super speed for the first time." Emma said.
"Buuurr, and…..I…..hate….it." She said shaking her head before opening her eyes, breathing heavily to calm herself. "Urgh, I never thought that I will experience this and immediately start to hate it."
"Sorry about that." Emma said.
"Anyways, you have to run. And don't worry I will hide myself and call Hiro but you have to go." She said.
"Alright, I thank you for this." Emma said starting to run.
"Good luck." She said before hiding behind some bushes right when the hunter went outside.
"You can run but you can't hide and I know that girl managed to escape you. But I am on your trail." Frank said before starting to run in the direction of where dhampir went.
"You will not get her, you crazy maniac." Megan said to herself taking out her phone to call Hiro.
With the team now fully geared up
"So you say that a crazy man is after her due to a misunderstanding?" GoGo asked.
"In most cases but there are also other details to know about." Hiro said.
"And what could be those?" Wasabi asked.
"Well it's hard to describe them, but it is much easier if she explains everything since for her it is quite a touchy subject." He explains.
"If it is bothering her then why she didn't told us from the beginning?" Honey Lemon asked.
"Well the issues she got aren't between the 'natural' ones so to speak, especially if people would freak out when talking about this." Hiro said.
"When really wonder what is all about that even you can't tell us about them." Fred said.
Beep-beep
Hiro's com link started to beep and noticing who was on the line he immediately answered the call.
"Megan what happened."
"Hiro, Frank followed us at SFIT I managed to track his attention so that Emma could escape but he is on her trail. You have to hurry." Megan said.
"We are on our way."
"Oh my wonder what he wants from her?" Honey Lemmon asked concerned.
"Nothing good for sure." Hiro responded turning to the robot. "Baymax locate Emma and get us there." He ordered and the robot with a quick analysis tracked her.
"I have found her, hold tight." He said changing course.
In the meantime the dhampir girl ran through the street at a normal human pace by all accounts she would have tried to hide if the streets weren't so empty eventually she had made a turn to find herself in a dead end.
"Darn it this is not good."
"Not for you indeed." Said a voice from behind her and noticed Frank with his miniature crossbow attached to his wrist.
"Listen if it is about that event from London it wasn't what you think it was."
"I don't care about event in London, what I care is the information that you got to find Ian Malkazar." He said making the girl confused but also recognizing the name, he knew about this one, it was a vampire that was known to attack people and make them feel helpless because of his mad sadism. Not to mention the fact that it was once a servant of the vampire whom the hunter before her however she doesn't know anything of where he could be.
"Listen I really don't know about his whereabouts if I knew I would have told you. But I really don't know where he is." She said.
"Oh sure you know since by all accounts who else wouldn't have sent 2 people to attack others, one a simple thug that was hypnotized by him and another one been a vampire that is surely a subordinate without conscience." He said with venom in his mouth.
"I am not his subordinate, and I am not even a full vampire." She shouted now angry and starting to hiss at him.
"Don't try anything." He said getting some white powder from his pouch attached to his coat which made her cover her eyes "Because you will sleep." He pressed the trigger and a syringe got into her right shoulder while she went to pull it out.
"Huh?"
"Don't worry it is only a sedative which will make you number enough for me to take you up." He said while the girl started to feel everything deserting her right at that moment.
"Here we go."
"Oh no you don't!" Fred said jumping on him from behind.
"What the! Get of off me!" He ordered while the other heroes moved down near the girl.
"Baymax analysis?" Hiro ordered and the robot analyzed her.
"A sedative was injected into her; everything in her body started to loose strength and will feel unconscious." Baymax said.
"Wasabi take her up quickly." Hiro said and the Afro-American extended her hands around her right when she closed her eyes and felt unconscious and he took her up and started to carry her.
"Come on guys let's get out of here."
"What about him." GoGo asked pointing to the man who struggle with Fred.
"We deal with him later, come on Fred." Hiro said while the heroes went back on Baymax's back while Fred jumped from Frank to get on the robot while Wasabi was holding the girl before Baymax boosted his legs and immediately went into the air while the hunter tried to get back on his feet.
"Big Hero 6 you are making a big mistake." He said to them before thinking why have they done this.
"And yet what was the purpose for this act." He said to himself not knowing that 2 people were watching him one been the girl that splashed him with soda and another was watching from the rooftops to the scene and was smirking.
The team had managed to fly all the way to Professor Granville's house which by all accounts was a big and spacious residence outside the city right in the suburbs. The residence itself was a house with a modern architecture with one floor painted in navy blue with some red pigment, it also has some Japanese aspects. Hiro of course never knew where the dean lived by he could tell that the residence was impressive due to also having a small swimming pool in the garden and of course it was easy to track thanks to Baymax and they managed to enter inside of it thanks to Emma's key's that was in her bag and moved her to a room dedicated for guests where she was staying during the visit. The room was quite modest with a bed, a wardrobe and a desk with a laptop and a lamp, alongside a bed near the opposite wall and a mirror near the window at the end of the room.
"Well it is the first time we ever came at Professor Granville's place. But never thought it will be in such circumstances." Honey Lemon said while the robot placed the unconscious girl on the bed and the Latina seated on the bed near her.
"What I still can't understand is why that person is after her. What is the purpose?" GoGo asked while Hiro looked at a picture that was either a photograph or a drawing made on tablet with Granville alongside her husband, her son and alongside their relatives that included Emma and her siblings and their parents, by all accounts it was hard to look at it since it reminded him of the pictures with his parents with Tadashi and his aunt. By all they could be the same, a bit different in some aspects but a happy family despite everything. And of course he will have to tell them about everything while the girl was incapacitated.
"Because he believes she might be a danger by some views." Hiro began looking at the others while taking off his helmet.
"A danger in what way? She is just a regular person like all of us." Honey Lemon said taking off her helmet.
"A regular person she is by all accounts indeed, but unfortunately maybe not for others due to probably one half of her more unnatural heritage." Baymax started.
"Half of her more unnatural heritage, what is that supposes to mean?" Wasabi asked.
"Honey Lemon please look at her canines and tell me what you see." Hiro said which confused the chemist expert but complied, using her pointed finger she lifted the upper lip to notice that her canines were oversized and very sharp fang-like.
"Her canines look sharp and oversized." She said confused as to why was that.
"OK, she has sharp oversized canines but what about that?" Wasabi asked.
"Haven't you noticed some more aspects like very pale skin or eyes that are yellow to red and look almost reptilian? Not mentioning a tendency to avoid the sun." Hiro asked.
"Wow Hiro you almost describe a vampire." Fred said getting his mask off confused but smiling thinking it was a joke before noticing that his face wasn't of a person who was joking about something.
"Ah wait you are serious?" He asked confused.
"What do you think?"
"Wait…..that means…..that she…." Honey Lemon started terrified before turning slowly to the girl with a face of realization and of total terror trembling, as if from a horror movie at what lay actually before her whom she thought that it was only a myth and a legend.
"Santa Maria, Dios Mio, Santos." Honey Lemon screamed going out from the bed and on the wall near the exit while Wasabi was left petrified. "fantasma, inmundo, diábolo."
"But I can explain everything." Hiro said with a calm voice.
"Oh you can?" GoGo asked looking at him with threatening and demanding an explanation. "How about you start by explain to us for how long did you know and why on Earth have we just rescued A REAL VAMPIRE!"
