Chapter 10

First Kiss

A couple of days had passed since Unikitty and Puppycorn gave Shy her own room at the castle. After all the years Shy spent in Frown Town, she was happy to finally be a part of the Unikingdom. Everything took a turn for the better since not only has Shy finally gotten the home she deserved, but Hawkodile also fully recovered from his battle with Master Death and he was able to spend time with his family again. After Shy adjusted to her new life, Unikitty and Puppycorn decided to eat some snacks with their friends as the siblings told everyone what happened.

"So, this whole time, Master Death has been manipulating Shy and emotionally abusing her for several years after killing her parents?" Master Frown tried to understand everything before he grabbed a snack to eat. "That sounds awful! I don't think even Master Doom is that cruel."

"I feel so bad for the little dudette. She must have went through so much emotional trauma." Brock spoke up.

Unikitty nodded in agreement. "Unfortunately, it's true, Brock. Thankfully, Shy is feeling much better today. She seems to be much more calm when she's around Kittycorn."

Richard smiled as he placed a plate of cookies on the table. "Well, even though it means I have another room to tidy up, it's still nice to have Shy around the castle."

"I agree, Rick! "Hawkodile agreed. "Shy has always been a great friend for Kittycorn. I'm sure that when Foxodile grows up, he would have a lot of awesome friends too, right Dr. Fox?"

Hawkodile turned to Dr. Fox, who was cradling Foxodile in her arms.

"Yes! I'm sure that he would! I know that our son has a bright future ahead of him." Dr. Fox said.

As everyone was enjoying their cookies, Unikitty and Puppycorn looked outside to see Kittycorn and Shy talking with one another and laughing together. It warmed Unikitty and Puppycorn's hearts to see Kittycorn and Shy being such close friends. It reminded the siblings of their friendship when they were kids.

While Unikitty and her friends were having a fun time, Kittycorn and Shy sat down on the grass as they enjoyed the beautiful day. After all of drama they went through just a few days ago, they were both happy to finally be together again.

"So, are you feeling alright today, Shy?" Kittycorn turned to Shy.

"Yes. Everything has been wonderful ever since Queen Unikitty and King Puppycorn accepted me into the castle." Shy smiled. "Kittycorn, I want to thank you for being my friend! Before I met you, I knew nothing about friendship. When I started hanging out with you, I felt happiness for the first time in years! I'm so happy that we are friends!"

"Aww! I feel the same way, Shy!"

After a few moments of sitting in silence, Kittycorn turned to Shy to ask her a question that was on her mind for awhile.

"So, did you mean what you said before when you said that you always loved me?" Kittycorn asked.

It was at that point when Shy remembered that she confessed her feelings towards Kittycorn. Shy knew that there was no turning back now, so she decided to be honest about her feelings.

"It's true." Shy confessed. "I tried to keep my crush on you a secret because it's never been easy for me to be upfront about my emotions. I can understand if you are weirded out by my crush on you."

"Oh no. I'm not weirded out at all." Kittycorn assured. "In fact, I think it's really sweet! If I'm being honest, I kind of had a crush on you too, Shy!"

As she heard that, Shy gave a slight smile before shyly looking away. "You know, I would normally be scared of what the future might hold for me, but I'm not scared anymore because I know that we would always be together.

With that, Shy stood up and took off her hood, fully revealing her light-blue hair for the first time. This left Kittycorn speechless as she couldn't get over how beautiful Shy looked. As Shy's hair was fully revealed, Kittycorn noticed something sticking in Shy's hair.

"You kept the flower I gave you after all this time?" Kittycorn asked, surprised.

"Well, yeah." Shy gave a slight blush. "This flower lets me know that no matter how far apart we are, we will always be together." Shy smiled. "I love you, Kittycorn!"

Kittycorn smiled back before she got up as well and held Shy's hands. "I love you too, Shy!"

The two friends then stared lovingly towards each other before their lips made contact as they shared their first kiss. As Kittycorn and Shy kissed each other, Unikitty and Puppycorn stepped outside, both of them tearing up from this adorable moment.

"Aww! I'm so happy that Kittycorn and Shy are finally together." Unikitty is happy for her adopted daughter.

"Me too, sis! Those two are pretty cute together!" Puppycorn commented.

"Well, let's go back to the castle so we can let Kittycorn and Shy have their moment together."

As Unikitty said that, she and Puppycorn returned to the castle to join their friends. Today ended up being the best day ever for Kittycorn and Shy. The two friends knew that no matter what the future held for them, they would always be there for each other no matter what.
