Chapter 3

Creepy Crawlies in the Basement

After falling for what felt like forever, Unikitty and the others landed in the basement of the mansion. They all recovered from the fall before they began to cough, thanks to how dusty the basement was. At that point, everyone cautiously looked around the room they fell in. The room was dirty and filled with spiderwebs. If the Score Creeper wanted to send them down here, they knew that they would have be be prepared for anything.

"This must be the lowest point of the mansion." said Richard. "Let's just hope there isn't anything too scary down here."

"Uh, guys? I think something just crawled up my back." Puppycorn spoke up.

"Okay, this is just creeping me out! Dr. Fox, you still have that light device with you, right?" Hawkodile asked.

"Actually, I do! It's kind of broken, but it should still be able to give us a little bit of light."

Dr. Fox turned on her invention once again, to reveal that the room was full of spiders. The group of friends tried to run, but quickly got surrounded as the spiders started to wrap them up in web cocoons. Once they were wrapped up, Unikitty and her friends were lifted up and got stuck in a giant spider web. Standing right in front of them was a giant spider. It glared with red eyes before it gave a hiss.

"I-Is that a g-giant sp-spider?" Puppycorn stuttered.

"It looks even bigger than Abugail!" Unikitty commented, remembering the other giant spider that once tried to eat her and her friends.

The moment the spider stepped closer, the Score Creeper's voice suddenly echoed throughout the room.

"Looks like this is the end of the game! Such a shame!"

"Hey! The game isn't over yet! We can still win!" Unikitty argued as she tried to struggle.

"I don't think so! This time I shall have your souls, but not before my spider has your friends as a snack." The Score Creeper laughed.

Unikitty let out a gasp as the Score Creeper said that. Soon her fear was replaced with anger as her pink fur turned red from rage. With a scream of rage, Unikitty broke free from her cocoon and sent a death glare towards the spider.

"YOU ARE NOT GOING TO HURT MY FRIENDS!"

At that moment, Unikitty's rage caused the spider web to catch on fire and free the others. The web then burned to ashes as the giant spider fell to the ground. The giant spider, along with the rest of the smaller spiders ran away in fear.

Once the spiders were gone, Unikitty's friends landed safely on the ground, each of them relieved that they won't be the spiders' dinner tonight. Unikitty then turned back to her normal form as she awkwardly looked away from her friends.

"Wow! That was awesome, sis! You were even scarier than the spiders!" Puppycorn exclaimed.

"Oops! I let my temper get the better of me again, didn't I?" Unikitty gave an awkward smile.

"It's a good thing you did! That really saved out lives! Now we can get out of here!" said Hawkodile!

Everyone soon made their way to the end of the basement. Despite the door being locked, Hawkodile managed to use his strength to knock the door down. Unikitty and her friends walked through the doorway to find themselves back in the mansion's living room. They crept through the room, careful not to step on any trapdoors this time until they walked up the stairs. The more stairs they climbed, the more lightning began to flash.

"Is it just me, or is this mansion getting ever scarier?" Puppycorn shuddered.

"We must be getting close to the top floor of the mansion." Dr. Fox observed. "This must be the end of the game."

It wasn't long before Unikitty and her friends reached the top of the mansion, where they stood in front of a giant door.

"It looks like the Score Creeper is waiting for us behind that door." Richard guessed.

"Yay! We're one step closer to get the lifetime supply of candy!" Unikitty cheered. "Come on, guys! We're almost there!"

With the game nearly over, Unikitty and her friends opened the door and stepped inside the mansion's last room.
