Hey everyone glad you came back for more. Sorry that this is a day late, I a little busy yesterday and didn't have time to upload anything. No matter, I hope you enjoy the chapter.
Chapter 46-Old friends:
While Varian was being taken away by the three men, Rapunzel, Eugene, and Alice were still talking to the Pebbles. The three were explaining everything that was going on, included Cassandra's betrayal and the rise of their biggest threat yet. Easy to say, the Pebbles were quite surprised.
"So, Zhan Tiri has returned after all this time ?"one little pebble asked.
"Yes, we came here looking for information, something to help us defeat her ,"Alice told them.
"We wish we could help you, but us Pebbles need to get back to work ,"a male pebble told her, as they all jumped back onto the shelves.
"We understand, but it was nice to meet you guys ,"Rapunzel said, smiling at them.
"You as well your highness, and it's great to see you again, Our Diamond ,"a female pebble said, giving a little curtsy before they all went back into the wall, the shelves disappearing with them.
"Gotta admit, those guys are pretty cute ,"Eugene said, looking at the wall.
"Cute and very reliable. I hope they tell people what's going on, maybe then people will go out to fight ,"Alice said.
Before anyone could respond, the sound of something heavy dropping came from the stairs behind them. All three of them jumped in surprise from the noise. Rapunzel and Eugene looked to Alice to see if she knew what caused the noise, but then Alice's face grew sheepish as she realized what the sound might be.
"Okay, that can be one of two things. Either there was an explosion in one of the classrooms, or…-"Alice started.
"AAAAAAAALLLLLLLLIIIIIIIICCCCCCEEEEEEE !"A feminine voice happily exclaimed.
The group turned around and as quickly as they had, a tall, young woman with violet eyes and straight black hair with purple highlights, attacked Alice in a hug. She was wearing an ankle length purple skirt with a long sleeve cream colored sweater. You could just make out black boots with knee high white stockings, poking out from where her skirt stopped. Behind her were four other women. One of them had strawberry blond hair with blue eyes and pale skin, wearing a bright yellow dress with a white apron, a pair of green flats and a red bow on top of her head. There was also a short girl who had strawberry blonde hair as well, but it was more pink in color, the style was cut just above her shoulders and held with red ribbons. She was wearing a plain white short-sleeves shirt with a pink fluffy skirt, knee high white stockings and pink flats. The third girl was average height with green eyes and long brown hair, held up in a ponytail with a white ribbon tied in a bow, her bangs framing her face. She wore a brown, long-sleeved blazer over a white shirt, a short navy blue skirt, black thigh high stockings and pink flats(1). The final woman was tall with poofy hair, dark skin, and two different colored eyes, one blue and the other was purple. She wore a magenta shirt with poofy sleeves, some dark pink pants and some black boots(2). She was carrying a bunch of school books in her arms, smiling at Alice.
"Whoa, the Yuri I knew never jumped into my arms. HEY ANYONE MISSING A PEARL!? Tell me, who are you and what have you done with adorable Yuri ?"Alice asked, looking at the girl with her arms around her.
"I am Yuri, Pearl to Green Diamond !"Yuri declared and Alice immediately hugged her and she hugged back, both girls squealing in delight.
"Alright, break it up you two ,"the girl with the poofy hair told them.
"Oh you're one to talk, oh I'm sorry Garnet….You're two to talk ,"Alice told her.
Garnet's mouth fell open before she cast a spell on her books to make them float, before playfully punching Alice on the arm. Alice laughed a little, rubbing her arm a little bit as she smiled at her friend.
"Hey watch it, you're Ruby's showing ,"Alice warned and all three of the girls laughed.
"So Alice, who are your friends ?"Eugene asked, looking between the three girls.
"Oh right, apologies, I got excited. Girls, I would like you two to meet Princess Rapunzel and Captain Eugene Fitzhurbert. Rapunzel, Eugene, meet my loyal friends Garnet, my Pearl Yuri, and the girls behind them are Monika, my Lapis, Sayori, my Spinel, and Natsuki, my Bismuth ,"Alice told them, indicating to her friends on by one, Monika being the one with brown hair, Sayori being the blue eyed girl and Natsuki being the small one.
"It's an honor to meet you, your highness ,"Monika said, giving a little cutesy.
"Please, just call me Rapunzel ,"Rapunzel told them.
"Okay then Rapunzel, it's great to meet you ,"Sayori said, bouncing over and shaking her hand excitedly.
"You too Sayori ," Rapunzel said, smiling at the girl.
"Of course we can call you Rapunzel, but we must show our respect for not only both of our royal guests, but also for our Diamond ,"Yuri said, getting over the giddiness of seeing her friend again and revealing her true calming demeanor, giving a bow to all three of them.
"Number one, how many times have I told you guys not to treat me like I'm better than you, because I'm not? And two, how long have you known Eugene was Prince Horace of the Dark Kingdom ?"Alice asked.
"You've told us over three hundred and sixty three times including today's, and as for the second question, I've known for a while, future vision works on everyone's lives, not just our own ,"Garnet told her.
"So are you a Diamond or a Sapphire ?"Eugene asked.
"Neither, I am Garnet ,"Garnet told him.
"Anyway, Alice, where in the world have you been? You have been missing for seven almost eight years now! What happened ?"Natsuki demanded.
"Oh you know, getting into trouble, getting out of trouble, raising Varian since Mom was gone, got into trouble again, you know, just Diamond work ,"Alice said, rolling her eyes.
"I'm serious, Master Simon has been worried sick about you ,"Natsuki told her.
"I know and I'm sorry. I went after Ballora and I fused with her, I couldn't risk sending letters to any of you without revealing the school's location to her. I couldn't put you guys in danger like that ,"Alice told them.
"That little witch forced you to fuse with her ?!"Garnet asked, her voice like fire.
"GARNET NO!...I know you're going to be really angry at me when I say this but….Ballora didn't force me to fuse with her, I forced her to fuse with me ,"Alice told them sadly.
"You did what ?"Sayori asked in shock.
"Look, I was trying to keep her angry at bay, she was threatening to go after my family, I couldn't let that happen, you guys know that !"Alice exclaimed.
"Although I don't approve of the method, I think we can all understand that you only did what you thought was best, not only for you, but for your brother ,"Monika told her.
"Thanks Monika. Garnet, I know fusion is a personal subject for you and I'm sorry. I'm just here to get some information and then we'll be leaving. Right now there's a war going on and you can be angry at me all you want after it, just let me figure stuff out before we focus on this, please ,"Alice begged her.
"What's going on Alice ?"Yuri asked.
"Our friend, Cassandra, has taken the Moonstone from the Dark Kingdom and has been wielding its power for almost a year now. She's taken over Corona and we're trying to figure out how to get her back ,"Rapunzel told them.
"A very noble cause, we'll take you to the library ourselves and help you find what you need ,"Garnet told them.
"Thank you Garnet, but I can't lie to you and say that that's the only problem, because we have another problem, one bigger than the Moonstone ,"Alice told her.
"What could be a bigger problem than the Moonstone ?"Natsuki asked, sarcasm dripping from her voice.
"Girls…...Zhan Tiri, has returned ,"Alice told them.
The five girls looked at each other in disbelief, then back at Alice.
"Zhan Tiri… Back ?"Sayori asked, her voice shaking in fear, which only grew when Alice nodded.
"She's been manipulating our friend for a long time now and we need to defeat her before we can reform Cass ,"Eugene told them.
To their surprise, Garnet and the others kneeled down in front of them, placing a hand on their hearts.
"Your majesties….Our Diamond, we are at your humble service ,"Garnet told them.
"Yeah, no demon is gonna destroy our home on our watch ,"Sayori added.
"I say 'bring it on Zhan Tiri', she's going down !"Natsuki declared, showing that despite her small size, she had a huge attitude.
"I second that ,"Yuri said.
"Just tell us what you need and we'll bring it to reality ,"Monika told them.
"We need to do research, anything on the Moonstone or Zhan Tiri. We need to find a way to fight her, beat her, or anything we could use to maybe trap her if at all possible ,"Alice told them.
"I think we can, I mean didn't Lord Demanitas trap her ?"Eugene asked.
"Yes he did, but unfortunately, most of his writing and plans are written in some type of code, not even our most educated students can solve it ,"Yuri told them.
"Looks like we got some work to do, I'm glad you came along Vary because we would have no idea how to translate this without you, right Varian ?"Alice asked, smiling over at where her brother was standing.
When her brother didn't respond however, Rapunzel and Eugene looked around the room for their friend. Alice waited a few moments to see if he would speak up. She cleared her throat to see if he was nearby and if she could catch his attention, but no such luck.
"Varian !?"Alice asked, again, looking around and seeing her little brother nowhere in sight.
"Varian of Old Corona, this is not funny !"Alice called out, her voice becoming frantic.
"Seriously, where'd he go, he was right here two minutes ago ,"Eugene said.
"Ummmmm, Garnet, could you use your future vision to see if you can figure out when we'll see him again and more importantly, where ?"Alice asked.
"It's been a while since I saw him, does he still have those cute little freckles ?"Garnet asked.
"Yep, same baby blue eyes, black hair with a blue streak in his bangs, cute little nose, just on a sixteen year old body ,"Alice said.
"I can't believe it! Little, cute, toddler Varian can't be sixteen already !"Sayori exclaimed.
"He is, but still just as adorable ,"Alice told her.
"Wow, now I feel old…...we've haven't seen him in eleven years, can you believe that Garnet ?"Natsuki asked.
"I can…...I foresee you yelling at Sammy over in classroom 710 and Varian watching you do it, but that's about all I can tell ,"Garnet told her.
"Why would I yell at Sammy? Well besides the fact he used to be part of the school's bullies, who did some pretty offal things to everyone in school, but I'm sure he's matured since then ,"Alice said.
"Nope !"the five girls said at the same time.
"Okay then, let's just go to classroom 710 and figure out what Sammy did and hopefully we'll find Varian along the way ,"Alice said, as they started heading down the dark corridor behind the stairs.
"Okay, so what exactly did these bullies do ?"Eugene asked.
"Basically the bullies are made up of Todd Stenson and his friends. Todd's the ringleader of that bunch of the boys here at school and they do extremely offensive things ,"Monika told them.
"Well, we heard about them stringing up a guy by his ankles in the library. What else did they do ?"Rapunzel asked.
"One example is that Todd and his friends rated every single girl in this school, based on our looks ,"Natsuki told them.
"I was a six, Monika and Ballora were eights, Natsuki, Yuri, and Sayori were sevens and Alice was the only one with a perfect ten ,"Garnet told them.
"Really, I get guys can like girls based on their looks, but rating you ?"Rapunzel asked.
"I know, it wasn't until Alice and Ballora stood up to him and encouraged girls to be themselves before they finally stopped ,"Yuri said.
"I just did what I thought was right ,"Alice told them.
"And you did an amazing job doing it. Even I would have done what you did Al, girls don't deserve to be treated like that ,"Eugene said.
"And that's why I love you so much ,"Rapunzel told him, giving her boyfriend a kiss.
"Hey you two get a room !"Natsuki exclaimed, before Yuri elbowed her in the side, while Alice laughed lightly.
"Ignore her, she's just jealous because she doesn't have a boyfriend ,"Sayori said.
"For the love of-, All five of us girls, six if you include Ballora, are still single !"Natsuki exclaimed.
"She's not wrong, unless you got a boyfriend Al ,"Monika said, raising a brow.
"No I do not, but really love birds you'd better break it up. We need to find Varian and get to that library before something goes wrong ,"Alice said, unaware that something already had.

2: For all you Steven Universe fans, I hope I portrayed Garnet in a way. They are going to have a minor role in the story later, I hope you're looking forward to that.
