Hey Guys, sorry. Been dealing with alot, But now i am back...hopefully! Anyways Enjoy! Chapter 8: Fun Tim-I mean Training!
Downtown..
Training #1: Strength.
At an old abandoned Warehouse, one picked by Jade. It seems like a perfect place to practice on Lee's new powers.
Jade walked over with her phone, to record this groundbreaking moment. "Alright Lee, are you ready for this?!" She asked with enthusiasm in her voice, with Lee picked up on.
Lee, who had the jacket on, looked up from warming up. "Oh? Do I detect excitement in your voice Jade?" He grinned.
Jade blushed and turned away. "Humph! No, I still think doing this for the lol's is stupid." She told him very point-blankly. Though a part of her does see the fun in this..not that she will admit it.
Lee rolled his eyes and waved her off."Yeah, Yeah. Ken, you ready?"
Ken nodded and began eyeing the brick wall. "We will first be testing your super strength. Try punching that brick wall." They pointed to said brick wall.
Lee nodded, before saying to Jade."Hey, how about a bet. If I can punch a hole in this brick wall without crying of pain, your buying us lunch." He gave her a confident grin.
Jade smirked. "Well if you do, then you're buying, and we're having some good ol ' Brother's Pizza."
Lee rolled his eyes. "Really again? I mean they're good, but they ain't no Frank and Mary's."
Jade chuckled and gave him a teasing look and stuck her tongue at him playfully. "Best New York Style Pizza in Cail."
Ken tilted their head, confused in all of this, before asking. "Soooo..are we doing this or not?"
Lee and Jade in the midst of their bantering, turn over to the Robot. 'Oh uh, right." Lee nervously grinned a bit, before turning over to the brick wall.
He tightens his fist and puts up a stance. Jade took out her phone and recorded the upcoming moment. Ken, who had a look of wonder written on their face, stood there to see this moment.
Lee sighed and muttered to himself. "Okay...you can do this...so what if it'll hurt, i mean it's worth it for...re..search..ohh boy." he slowly began to realize what he's gotten himself into. But, there's no turning back.
go big, or go home right?
Just like that, Lee without hesitation arched his arm back, and launched forward into the brick wall. Punching the brick wall in its center, causing pieces of bricks to fly and fall into the ground.
Jade and Ken both had a look of shock and awe.
As for Lee though..he was feeling pain. "OH GODDAMN IT! Ooohh Ahhh, urgh!" he cried out in pain holding his now bruised right hand.
Ken jumped out of their seat and walked over along with Jade. The robot gave the arm a scan and analyzed it. "Strange…" they muttered, which caught the attention of the duo.
Jade looked. "What is it Ken?"
Ken looked up and explained. "Usually for a normal human being his hand would be broken, and would require maybe weeks to heal, but..it's merely bruised, though i would recommend keeping that hand of yours to rest for a while." They advised them.
Lee looked at his right hand in thought, giving it a hard stare before asking Ken. "So, am I immune to pain or something?" He raised an eyebrow confused.
Ken shook their head and said. "No, No. Just, it takes a lot more than punching a wall to hurt you, like let's say if you get hit by a speeding car, or-"
Jade quickly cut them off, not wanting to hear anymore which might make her physically and mentally sick. "Okay, Okay! W-We get it, Ken.." she said shivering before trying to take her mind off of it. "Okay, so what next?"
Training #2: Flying.
Lee took a dial back, and looked at Jade. "Wait flying? T-That's not gonna work." he told Jade..who was recording this via phone.
Jade shrugged. "Hey, ya never know right? Besides, if you have flight, then we can go to places without having to take a plane!" She exclaimed much to Lee's unamusement.
Lee shook his head. "You're enjoying this aren't you?"
Jade grinned and mused. "Mmmm a bit.~ Now hurry up and try to flyboy scout!" She ordered.
Lee sighed and looked over by the trampoline, with an intense look.. He was concentrating...he then began to pace his legs, and run over to the trampoline, before jumping on it, and flying as high as he can!
Or so he thought.
Lee's smile began to fade, as he begins to fall back down to the hard floor. "WHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOH MY GOD!"
He then landed on the floor, causing Jade, and Ken to wince, even Jade had to turn off the phone, to see if he was alright. "Lee, you alright man?!"
Lee groaned as he got up, his nose bleeding. before looking up at her and muttered. "You're paying for lunch…"
Jade sighed in relief, and let out a little laugh. "Fine, fine.."
Training 3#: LUNCH TIME!
Up on the rooftop of an apartment building. Lee took a bite of the pizza Jade bought for lunch. His nostrils were stuffed with two bloody tissue pieces. The nose fortunately wasn't broken, but it still hurt. "Mmmm..Mario's Pizza, it's up there with Frank and Mary's."~ He told Jade, who rolled her eyes.
Jade put up a retort. "Oh please, Cliff knows how to make New York Pizza, of course. It ain't no, Ray's Pizza, or Danos, i could go on." She shrugged before eating her slice.
Ken looked over at both. They have no idea what they're talking about. "..I'm confused."
Lee, and Jade turn over to their new robot friend. "Huh? About what?"
Ken answered. "All of this talk of Pizza, this talk of the Frank and Mary's, this Danos."
Lee and Jade looked at each other, before they both erupt into laughter.
This got Ken even more confused, they just tilted their head, as Jade begin to answer him. "No Ken. It's just how we talk. See, when we also get different types of pizza's, we talk about which one is better. Though we love all."
Lee nodded before smiling to the Bot, and saying. "Mhm, This one time, we ordered pizza's from all of them one time..Until, Cliff and his family moved back home to New York." He muttered sadly at the memory of his friend having to go back.
Jade sighed sadly. Her, Lee, Billy and Cliff were part of a friendship foursome. So to have him leave just felt like a piece of their heart just left. "Yeah, but hopefully he's fine, least we still have Billy."
Ken shot up and waved their hands. "And Meeeee~"
Jade gave off an amused smile and laughed. "Yes, and you too, Bo." she said before getting up. "Let's do one last training method for today, alright?"
Lee winced at the thought of yet another painful "experiment". and got up. "Jade can we maybe take a break on the experiments? I'm not sure my body take more punishment." Jade scoffed in disbelief.
"Come on Lee! This whole thing was your idea! Don't you want to see this through? Finally prove you're capable of some really cool super powers?" Lee groaned as he realized Jade was right.
"Fine! What do you want me to do now?"
Jade smirk and turned around. "Jumping off the roof to fly."
Lee gave her a blank and silent look before saying. "Stop Joking, that's not funny." He told her, which caused her to laugh her guts out, metaphorically.
Suddenly, they begin to hear a commotion from the street. Lee looked over to the side, and saw an eldery man, being held at gunpoint by some robbers. "Give us all the money ya have old man, or we'll make you dead then you already are!" The robber taunted before bringing the startled man to the ground.
This did not sit well with Lee. "Oh, Hell naw."
Lee got up and jumped off the roof of the building, much to Jade's shock. "Hey, wait!" she called out to him.
But it's too late. Lee jumps to the ground, surprising the robbers, and the old man. "Halt Villain!" He ordered in a 40's equse-superhero tone.
Much to Jade's disbelief and irritation, and Jade's confusion. "Halt villain..really." she sighed.
One of the robbers, who is believed to be the leader, instead laughed, along with his men and said in a mocking manner. "Oh no, Batman's here to stop us boys!" He cackled. He clearly doesn't see Lee as a threat, and that..that pissed Lee off.
So much so, as the man was busy laughing it up. He was caught off guard, by Lee grabbing him by the wrist and taking his gun before saying. "You shouldn't play with guns." He lectured the leader before pushing him back to a carton of fruits.
Lee then turned to the startled robbers and wagged his finger at them. "And remember, don't use guns."
At this point, Jade buried her face deep into her hands as she muttered. "Stop treating this like a PSA.."
The robbers however, simply pointed their guns at Lee, and were about to shoot. However, Lee was too quick for them.
Lee picked one guy up before slamming him down onto the ground. "Too Slow!" He teased before making his way to the other two.
He tripped one down, before doing a flip onto the last one, and wrapped his legs around his neck and threw him to the window. "Alley Oop!" He cried out before getting back onto his feet, and praised himself. "Ya see that? That's how we do it, in my neighborhood!" He shouted out, causing some attention to some bystanders.
Ken turned to Jade and asked. "What is he doing?"
Jade simply said. "Boasting." She picked them up and walked down the door to the exit to make sure the old man was okay.
The old man in question backed up a bit, and had a cautious look at Lee before asking. "You ain't gonna rob me, now are ya?"
Lee blinked in confusion before saying. "What? Course not, I did save you after all." He reminded him with his arms crossed.
The old man conceded his point, and nodded. "Suppose your right. Thanks for that." He told him with a slight smile on his face, to which made Lee's day light up.
Lee grinned and said. "All in a day's work sir!"
Then, the old man asked him one question that stopped Lee in his tracks. "What's your name?"
Lee was caught like a deer in the headlights. What was his hero's name? He never considered the possibilities. "Uh...w-well um..well my name is.." he muttered but couldn't find anything.
Well, least Jade tried to help. "His name is Pitch Black! Because of the coat." Jade explained walking over.
Lee gave her a incrediclous look and said, "That sounds stupid!" He complained.
Jade rolled her eyes. "It was on the spot. We'll work on it." She told him before looking over to the old man with a concerned look.
She asked. "Did they hurt you badly?"
The old man smiled at her worried and reassured her. "Nah, I may be old but I'm made of iron."
Lee turned to Jade and told her. "See, i told you he's doing fine. If i hadn't gone in like that, he would have been hurt." He explained to her, to which Jade could see his point, though they need to work on the entrance and try to be discreet without causing a scene.
Jade sighed. "Let's just go."she told him before walking off.
Lee turned to the man and had one final say. "If you're looking for someone to protect, just know that the darkness is here to..protect?" He grinned sheepishly.
Before Jade called out. "You don't rhyme with the same words, and the darkness is a no go!"
Lee groaned before running off, leaving the old man alone before he gave a chuckle and a bright smile on his face before walking back to his store.
As the two, with Ken inside Jade's backpack. Lee took the time to ask Jade. "Hey, have you heard from Billy?"
Jade looked at him and was about to answer..only she was left stumped. Where was he? "I don't know..hopefully he's fine, i know his dad can be a real pain.." she muttered.
That was something they both agreed on. The times they met Billy's dad. He was lazy at best, and at worst. An asshole.
Lee sighed. "Well, hopefully he's doing fine.."
At the Warehouse,
Billy was in a state of despair.
He couldn't eat, think, or even do his school work. Not after betraying the trust of his two best friends by telling his dad what he discovered.
But what could he do? If he wouldn't tell his dad, he would just keep asking..or worse..
What was that trust he betrayed again..?
"Easy Easy! We need this baby intact if my son's gonna work on it!" Sid told his man.
As they were hauling the ship, He, Lee and Jade discovered it. He told them where it was, and how it can be used to help out with his tech for them.
Needlessly to say, the guilt is wrecking them..and he knows if they find out. They'll never forgive him..
All Billy can do is mutter with a voice that leaks with remorse. "I'm sorry guys...i'm so so sorry….""
