We started to return back to the warren, until I stopped and noticed Holly's body was there. I couldn't let anything happened to him. I stopped. Everyone else noticed my lag and stopped.

"Thomas, what are you doing?" Hazel questioned me.

"Someone has to stay behind to guard him." I proposed.

"Holly's gone, Thomas." Bigwig stated.

"Yes, but..." I began to worry something would go after his body, like Quan Chi did. "Someone has to stay with him, so his body isn't taken away from us."

Everyone looked at each other and decided to agree, but I couldn't stay because he would wanted me to defend the warren. "Alright, very well. Blackberry stay and guard him."

"Let me stay too." Hyzenthlay volunteered.

"No, it's too risky, you were captured along with Katie." Bigwig rejected.

"He's my mate. Even after his death, I'm obligated to see he'll be buried when the war is over. For now, I'll stay on guard."

"Me too." Katie agreed. I was skeptical, because the three won't defend themselves so easily.

"I'll stay behind." Kung Lao assisted.

Surprised, I turned towards him. "Are you really sure?"

"Despite of rocky beginning, he's a worthy fighter. I'll stand guard."

I commended him for that. He was always critical on Holly, but after the experiences we had, Kung Lao finally sees something different about him. The rest of began to hurry back to the warren, while Blackberry and the others stayed.

We managed to arrive back at the warren. We managed to quickly got through a entrance and began to dig quickly to regroup with the rest of the occupants of the warren. We finally found them huddled in a big burrow near towards The Honeycomb. Apparently, they fell back from there.

"Woundwart is coming!" someone shouted in terror.

"What are we going to do?!"

"Someone has to fight them." Fiver came, as he shook his head, from a dream or vision.

"Fiver?" Hazel asked.

"Someone has to battle Woundwart, the emperor, and the sorcerer." Fiver answered. He than turned towards me and became saddened. "Thomas... I'm-"

Rumbling of the burrow continues and causing panic among the few. Someone has to be sent into battle.

"I'll deal with Woundwart." Bigwig decided his opponent. "He and I have a score to settle. Especially he longed for us to combat with each other."

Hazel nodded. Bigwig began to dig back into The Honeycomb to prepare himself for Woundwart. Liu Kang stepped forward. "I'll face Shao Kahn. We battled back in Outworld. I'll have no problem to defeat him again."

Everyone else looked at me. I was left with one last opponent. Quan Chi, himself. "Quan Chi is fine with me."

"Are you sure about this, Thomas? Are you willing to face him?" Fiver questioned me. I wasn't sure why me meant to ask me. I acknowledged with a nod, as he nodded back.

"It's time." Liu Kang informed me.

"You three be careful and Frith speed you both." Hazel wished us the best.

"And the elder gods protect you." Liu Kang replied back, before he went out of the warren.

"Good luck and stay safe." I replied back to Hazel and the others, before leaving them and joining Liu Kang.

Liu Kang and I exited out of the warren to see the sun beginning to rise. The sun began to shine us both, as we're prepared to face our opponents.

"What if they send their guys to go after us?" I asked Liu Kang.

"Do what we have to. In effort to face our enemies." he answered.

The two of us continued to run for the main entrance of the warren, where it is now by being surrounded by Woundwart and his allies. He, Shao Kahn, and surprisingly, according to what The Black Rabbit has informed me, Quan Chi is back on Earth.

"Guards!" Woundwart and Shao Kahn ordered their troops to attack us, as Woundwart continues to dig his way into the warren, with Sainfoin following him. Tarkatans and Efrafan soldiers engaged us in combat. I was able to work my way through them, as I changed back and forth from rabbit to man, in vice versa. While Liu Kang with his Shaolin moves and his fire abilities to combat against his enemies. It lasted short minutes, until we're facing more of them and the two main opponents themselves.

The soldiers started to prepare to attack us, even Captain Orchis was among them.

"Stand back!" Shao Kahn ordered them. "I'll deal with these puny mortals... myself."

"You'll only deal with me, Kahn." Liu Kang stepped forward.

Anger boiled the emperor over. "YOU!" He pulled out his war hammer. "I'll take my own pleasure to squash you like a bug, for our last encounter."

Liu Kang begins the charge at with his fly kick, but only to be swung from Shao Kahn's hammer. However, he was able to get back on his feet and the two continued in combat. Quan Chi stepped forward, as I did as well.

"So... you've escaped death." Quan Chi stated.

"I wouldn't say that too much. It's more near death experience." I rebuttal.

"Too bad to say, it wasn't the same for your friend."

Anger began to boil, as if the wolf in my attempts to take me over again. Quan Chi began to smirk at me.

Don't fall for it. I heard a familiar voice. Do not fall to anger through Quan Chi. Over come it. I closed my eyes to take a few deep breaths, before opening my eyes again.

"Marveled from controlling your anger." Quan Chi commended. "Perhaps it's about time to consume by it." He than summoned his green skull to fire at me. Quickly, I morphed into a rabbit and quickly dodged the attack, only jump and morphed back into my human form and started combat.

Meanwhile, inside the warren, Woundwart and Sainfoin were able to gain access to The Honeycomb. Woundwart started to sniff for his enemies. Awhile, Sainfoin simply looks around and simply watching for Woundwart's protection.

"Where are they? Where've they gone?" Sainfoin asked.

Woundwart shushed him, as he continues to sniff around, in hopes to root out the rabbits. He than found a tremendous amount of scent coming from one of the walls. He got close to it and sniffed it once more. He than began to claw his way for the other side.

"They're behind here, all right." Woundwart spotted them and continues to dig through. "I can smell them." The wall weakens and crumbles. He found what he was looking for: the remaining rabbits of the warren. The remaining Earthrealm warriors guarded the rabbits. "There you are!"

"General!" Sainfoin cried out. "Sir, the ground!" He was warning The General from the pile of the ground started to shake. Out came was Bigwig and bit Woundwart's ankle, before tossing him to the ground. Bigwig than guarded everyone else.

"You look injured, General." Bigwig smirked. "How does it feel to have a mark of your own?" Angered from his injuries, Woundwart charged at him and the two engaged into combat. The two box fought each other, as the two suffer scars and marks.

Liu Kang landed on the ground from a blow by Shao Kahn. With Shao Kahn, he only receive minor injuries from this combat. He reaches for his hammer and begins toying with it with his hands.

"You think you could best me?" Shao Kahn taunted. "Is that your best?"

"Giving everything I got." Liu Kang spitted blood.

"Too bad your thunder god, can't intervene." He than attempted to kick the emperor, but was able to grab Liu Kang's leg and tossed him back into the ground. "Don't make me laugh! You'll never win, this time."

Meanwhile, I continued to fight with Quan Chi. He started to gain the upper hand with his sorcery magic. I was than blasted back towards The Big Root entrance. I was than becoming too weak to fight him. The sorcerer grabbed my the throat and picked me up.

"Perhaps this means I win." he spoke. "You may be useful servant to me and Shinnok."

I spat blood at him. "I'll never join you two! I've been to your realm before and overcome Holly."

"Yes. That is true and possibly, you could stir trouble among the ranks." He than let me go, as I than gasped for air. "Killing you will be a mistake, since your soul is useless to me and our army."

"You let him live?!" Captain Orchis came out of nowhere.

"Be still, rabbit." Quan Chi calms him. "Perhaps, if this is your wish. For your brother."

Captain Orchis slowly made his way towards me. "Look at you now! Defeated, but not broken!"

"There's always hope for your defeat and his." I gathered the courage. He began to chuckle repeatedly. "I swear, with your chuckle... I start squeezing your throat bash your fucking head to bits."

"Oh, very naughty human I see." He made it towards that he started squeeze my wound that I screamed. I cursed in pain. "If only my brother could see this... his soul will be resting now."

"Not if he was probably taken over by Quan Chi." I taunted.

"You mingy, hraka!" Orchis struck me across the face.

Back inside the warren, Bigwig and Woundwart continued to combat with each other. At one point, Woundwart managed to cuff him claw marks, before Bigwig hid between the tree root vines.

"What do you say, General?" Bigwig questioned while panting. "I told you before that I would be a worthy opponent."

"Yet, I once told you that I would kill you, Thlayli. And this time..." He managed to pull a claw on Bigwig. He than fell to the ground, as some rocks fell onto his face. "...there's no white bird to save you!"

The screams continued, as I'm still in pain through Orchis' torment of torture. I was started to loose more blood, as Quan Chi removed his amulet from his belt.

"I was told that one day, I'll murder you and Captain Holly, for the death of my-"

"Fuck. You." I spat on him. He continues to strike me with his paws, as I done everything I could to block him. My scarf fell from my neck. I attempted to pick it up, but my left arm became burned through Quan Chi's powerful amulet.

"Do not underestimate the powers from The Netherrealm, boy." Quan Chi spoke.

Thankfully, the scarf was burnt. I was able to grab, as Orchis crushed my arm to make the pain intensify. He gazed at the cloth and sniffed it. "The Blood of Captain Holly. Too bad, he'll have to see you when your eyes are closed. I turned away from the smite. Light flashed in my eyes, that I became blind, until I notice a rabbit standing next to Orchis. My opponent turned towards him and recognized him.

"Get away from godson!" The voice belong to Captain Holly. He than kicked Orchis. Orchis' was blown towards Quan Chi, resulting the amulet to fall from his hand.

It even interrupted the fight between Liu Kang and Shao Kahn to see Captain Holly. "Impossible! Shang Tsung killed him!" Gave Liu Kang the opportunity to sweep kick the emperor and knocked him from his feet. The two continued to engage in combat, with Liu Kang gaining grounds.
