Hey, folks. Another edition of Mancub's Den and I'll make quick news updates regarding my recent uploads related to my fics before I do my next What If.
====Updated Fics====
I created a new story called Magical Melee which is a Disney fic where the characters under the Mouse House duke it out Smash Bros. style after a mysterious figure transports them to an alternate dimension. The prologue's up already and I'm currently brainstorming on the 1st card and examine their moves and abilities that makes sense in a Smash perspective. And I'm also planning some storylines between the fights that makes sense. Hopefully, I can take my time and upload a chapter as humanly possible. Feel free to check it out whenever you guys can.
I just uploaded a Justice League Halloween fic called Halloween Hijinks where Bart Allen is trick-or-treating with his cousin Wally West and his girlfriend Giganta chaperoning him. Though Bart is known to cause mischief and it's up to the super couple to keep him out of trouble. It's on my profile to check Out. If things go well with the story, a sequel may happen. So don't forget to read, fav, follow and review. It means a lot.
I'm in the process of making a Halloween fic starring the Roger Rabbit cast dubbed Night of the Weremole which is a parody of the Courage The Cowardly Dog episode of the same name. Basically, Baby Herman gets bitten by a weremole creature but little does Roger know that Weremoles have a ravenous appetite for people and mostly dine on rabbits. It's really about Roger and Jessica finding a cure for Herman before they end up as a snack Or in Jessica's case, become one herself. I'll definitely need to watch the Courage episode before I write the fic. So it's going to be some time. It's a little late to upload a Halloween story but better late than never. XD
As for my other Ones, I'm still planning on a chapter of When Roger Met Jessica but LadyShadow92 helped me out to flesh the story but it involves Roger imagining his proposal to Jessica Crupnik. The better I take my time with It, the better the fic. So bear with me. Anyway, that's going to do it on my updates on the fics I'm working On. Now for my What If scenario involving DC Universe vs. the characters of SNK.
======What if a DC vs. SNK Happened?====
Like Marvel and DC, Capcom and SNK were juggernauts of 2D fighting in the 90s and boy were they're at each Other's throats including Street Fighter, Darkstalkers and Rival Schools with Capcom and Fatal Fury, Art Of Fighting, Samurai Shodown and King Of Fighters with SNK. When Marvel and Capcom started the series with X-Men vs. Street Fighter moving from Marvel vs. Street Fighter to Marvel and Capcom characters. It's a popular series with MVC2 as a pinnacle for fans seeing Iron Man, Mega Man, Ryu, Spider-Man, Strider Hiryu and Captain America fight each other but I don't like MVC3 that much and Infinite is okay.
What does this have to do with DC and SNK? It's plain and simple being that WB and SNK would've made a deal in the 90s when Marvel and Capcom were making crossover masterpieces left and right. Mortal Kombat and DC are good together but imagine a fanbase crossing between Marvel, DC Universe, Capcom and SNK together discussing which fighting game crossover is better whether It's MVC or DC vs SNK.
As for the game itself, it'll obviously go to the Neo Geo arcades before going to other consoles. With each entry adding characters and gameplay mechanics unique to the series. I'll explain more in another section.
=====The Gameplay and Graphics Style Of DC Vs. SNK======
If you ever played King Of Fighters, you'll feel right at home as it's a 3-on-3 fighting series but it'll have some improvements to make the SNK fighter unique and familiar. For starters, it would've had a tag Out button on the fly much like KOF 2003, have a faster-paced fighting tempo, the TOP fighting system from Fatal Fury: Mark of the Wolves, graphical depictions of blood and bruises from Art of Fighting series.
I imagined these elements from SNK properties combined in DC vs. SNK to make the fights interesting. Take for instance in a fight between Superman, Batman and Wonder Woman vs. Terry Bogard, Kyo Kusanagi and Nakoruru. The brawl starts out fresh like other fighters but the combo system is exhibited from Mark of the Wolves and if conditions are met, you can tag out Superman or Terry on respective teams to another member to finish Off a combo but your opponent can break a combo with the right timing to counter and fight back making the momentum shift possibly in one's favor.
The TOP system from MOW works like this, you have a set arrow above a section of your health bar and if the bar is at or below the mark, you can activate it and it can buff your health a bit, strength increase or defensive buffs. I played MOW a couple months back and it's a cool mechanic keeping you on your toes. You can also have a character sitting out to come in and strike your opponent so you can come in for an opening much like in KOF.
As for graphical sense, it can be like the one from Garou: Mark of the Wolves where the animations were fluid in battle. I mean the framerates between the characters are insane and the backgrounds aren't bad either looking a little more colorful and lively. It's perfect for superheroes vs. SNK characters duking it out in the air or on land. Another graphical visual for DC vs. SNK that could be cool is how the camera scales zooming in when the characters are at close range or zoom out when they are far apart. It's much like the one in the Art Of Fighting series where they've originated the element. But Samurai Shodown perfected it really well as the Improved scaling Of the camera can be used from SS instead of Art Of Fighting. It makes the fights personal and intense close-up of the combatants. However, I would include something from Art Of Fighting and that is the blood and bruises from the fighters during battle. Whenever you hit your opponent with heavy attacks over time on any part Of the body, blood, cuts, scratches and bruises will show on the person. I was Impressed with it when I played Art Of Fighting 1 but AOF2 is very difficult to play with a cheap computer player. I think AOF3 got rid of that detail.
Multiplayer would be a breeze locally or online as long as the latter gets a rollback netcode like in the upcoming KOF 15 and I think KOF 14 and Samurai Shodown reboot has this too, then you can have a great experience in EVO. For this What If, it can be a PlayStation, Switch, Xbox and PC title. I'll talk about the plot of the game that can make sense of why the DC Universe and the worlds of SNK are together.
====Story Of DC vs. SNK: Crisis on Two Worlds==========
Lex Luthor, Rugal Bernstein and Kain Howard comes up with a fighting tournament dubbed the King of Fighters: Mark of Justice. Their purpose for the tournament is unknown but it has to do with Verse and Darkseid. The Justice League and some of the characters of SNK now must investigate this tournament by any means necessary.
"A cheesy plot but maybe SNK and DC can work together on making a good storyline. Though this is an Elseworlds story for both DC and SNK meaning it's neither canon to both sides.

======Conclusion=======
DC vs. SNK series would've been a great answer to Disney and Capcom's Marvel vs. Capcom series for the Neo Geo in the 90s building up to this imagined installment for current gen consoles. But either way, it'll be interesting to have such a game in the market for both Warner Bros and SNK with the former having both Mortal Kombat crossover with their DC characters and having SNK crossover with DC. Granted in reality, they may cut characters to a healthy amount to work with being 56 to 64 characters but hey, anything's possible at this point in time. As for the gameplay itself, I Picture the gameplay elements in my opinion to be a fusion of Garou: Mark of the Wolves' fighting system and animation, King of Fighters' 3-on-3 format, Samurai Shodown's scaling of the camera and fast-paced action, Art Of Fighting's graphical depiction of blood and injuries during battle. It's a great combination of a great SNK crossover game but it would be interesting if both companies made a movie or a miniseries involving King of Fighters and Justice League in an interesting plot but I also picture Tekken fitting more into the crossover movie with DC Comics with Luthor and Heihachi Mishima hosting a tournament while Maxwell Lord and Kazuya Mishima teams up against LexCorp and Mishima Zaibatsu. But that part is for another What If scenario at another time.
Anyway, I hope everyone enjoyed this edition of Mancub's Den. I like doing these What Ifs in my newsletter along with my updates On my fics and everyday news when It comes to mind. Don't forget to fav, follow and review my fics and my author page to get the scoop on my current and new fics On the way. As what Willie D says, "No Mo' Talk"
