Random ass AN: I played the mobile game. I was quite surprised by how unique the combat system was. Overall, I quite like it. Plus, for them to make Kazuma and Subaru met was such a thing I didn't want, but a thing I actually need. Only one thing though.

As I scrolled down the gallery, I realized that... The Graceful Bandit and The Chivalrous Thief weren't there. I, was shocked. Many things I probably didn't recognize were there, but those two didn't exist? Man... I hope they add them.

Chapter 6

"Unmatched."

He grasped Megumin through the shoulder and swiftly but quietly retreated. A gloomy look clearly plastered on his face. It's not that he couldn't defeat them, in fact, he could easily kill them. This is a beginner's area! He could leisurely walk in this area as if it was his own backyard.

It's just that, he… got a notice from Luna. Back then, two weeks ago he slaughtered too many monsters. Usually it's not that big of a problem, because for some reason, an empty hunting ground often had monsters immigrating into it.

...Until he laid a net trap on the exit of the immigration path.

Protests emerged and he got a penalty. Of course at first he retaliated. Who wouldn't? It's not his fault! And it's not like those loudmouthed dimwits didn't try to do some underhanded schemes so they could take back the area from him, which they failed.

And now they reported his 'tendency' to the officials?

They even added some unnecessary details which never happened…

If you want to fight, then fight! If you want to talk, then talk! Of course, he already has seen through them that they could possibly report this matter. After all, this area is certified. Unlike the Treacherous Demon Lord's Lair…

Because many players could- wouldn't enter it, it isn't certified by the officials.

But what could he do about it? There's a certain rule that the officials strictly told them to follow. Made by the King of The Kingdom himself.

Part 13, Number 10.

Adventurers from the same guild are prohibited to kill their guildmates.

Tsk, troublesome rules.

Oh well, the reason he excessively trapping monsters was because he was bored. He wasn't in a mood to grind, and the town was oddly busy that day.

So, to have silence as a privilege, he went to the beginner's area to play around with monsters. They're cute, really. Most of them, at least.

They're not loud, cute(surprisingly), and harmless(for him)...

It was such a perfect place to relax! Though he still ended up killing them because Exp is good… uhh…

And now, he was prohibited to kill here for 3 months.

Now that he think about it, he probably deserved it. He was too selfish...

"You! What are you doing?!"

The girl whispered, looking at him in confusion. It sounded awkward, and he gotta fix that.

"Kazuma, my name is Kazuma."

"Ah, yes, Kazuma-san. Kazuma-san, Kazuma-san, what are you doing?! You could easily kill them as an advanced adventurer!"

Just to call him out required her to say his name two times? He mentally blinked.

"I have my own circumstance. Let's retreat-"

"No-!"

"-and let me set up a trap."

"...Ah."

Her eyes glinted before looking at him in suspicion. He barely raised an eyebrow at that.

"So you use traps to kill huh…"

"Yes, is there any problem?"

"Well, it is a bit cowardly, but no one cares about it anyway. So no, no problem."

He nodded subconsciously, pondering a bit about something. Maybe this is the reason why she could easily become a waitress as an Adventurer.

She's probably that type of person who doesn't care about others' thoughts on her, it seems. His lips curved up a little. For a young person, to have such a mindset is pretty impressive.

'...Why did I say it as if I wasn't young-'

Adventurers have big pride, unsurprisingly.

There's a sense of supremacy towards their fellow villagers. After all, they are technically the guardians of the town. They risked their lives to maintain prosperity!

So although their prideful attitude is somewhat annoying, it's not to the point that normal villagers would wholeheartedly hate them. They knew these Adventurers are the people who ensure their safety by keeping the Beginner's area empty.

And it's not like the Adventurers keep their annoying façade 24/7. So it's just a minor problem within the town.

...In the Beginner's Town, that's it.

His eyebrows twitched slightly. Yeah, he'd rather not talk about those pricks annoying son of a-

Crack!

He stiffened, while the girl behind him froze. He swiftly looked back and saw that the 'Promotee Exterminators' were staring at them ferociously. They aggressively growl at them and the already protracted black claws were protracted even further.

"Ah, goddamn it…"

"S-Sorry! I-I was too focused on the road that I unintendedly stepped on a sti-"

Before she could finish her statement, he picked her up and placed her on his shoulder, earning him a surprised shriek. He ignored the loud ass sound from the girl and thrust his empty arm forward with his palm open.

'Attribute Scrounge!'

A white light flashed on his palm, scorching the Promotee Exterminators' eyes for a second. It appeared and disappeared in a blink of an eye. He didn't bother to check their conditions and push himself with the force created by his previously bent legs.

Well, guess always being ready and positioned in steed has its advantages.

The force was enough for him to reach a thick branch of a tree. With one hand on the girl and another one gripping the branch, he swung himself and disappeared from the Promotee Exterminators' sight.

One second is enough for him to escape. One of the reasons why Adventurers are terrifying. They're like superhumans!

The beasts tried to chase, but they noticed that their speed was absurdly slow. They howled and growled furiously, absolutely livid by the fact that their prey had escaped.

"W-Wow… s-so fast- w-wait! My- my staff?!"

"Here."

After he swung himself, he landed on the ground and he could feel that the air pressure here was noticeably lower than what he felt before. Not that it affected him or anything.

'Plunderer class is way too absurd. Stealing others' stats and skills and could even learn any skills they desired. Absolute mad class!'

Although the sudden increase of attributes and the stolen skill were only temporary and the backlash could be considered severe, imagine if he had more levels and advanced this class to a higher degree?

He shook his head, that's still too far from sight.

...it is?

He grasps the cane on his back and gives it to Megumin. Making the girl ecstatic, from the way she widely smiled and her eyes brightened.

"Thank you very much! I will pay this debt wholeheartedly!"

He nodded lightly. Staring at the girl who was trembling in excitement. Perhaps it was just a cane in many eyes, but he could see that the staff meant a lot to her.

This is what he meant.

Many people out there weren't satisfied even if they have millions upon millions of Eris. And yet, this girl was literally on the verge of tears just because of a cane. A basic, simple-looking cane.

Gratefulness and Humility.

Life would be notorious without gratefulness and humility. It'd be the same as the world he previously lived in. A world full of greed, lust, gluttony and many other things.

To feel fulfilled when he merely had a rusty sword. To be humble when he was unironically the strongest 'beginner' out there. He learnt a lot of lessons from that world he lived in.

He was tired of pursuing happiness and satisfaction the way those mongrels of that world pursued. To be rich, to feel lustful, to have what goes beyond his capability or capacity.

He wanted to search for another way to pursue happiness. Humans, no matter what they are, deep inside they always pursue happiness, satisfaction, and peace.

First life was filled with sins to get what he wanted. Now in this second one, he wanted to try something new.

He wanted to get what he wanted with gratitude and humility accompanying him throughout the journey. Of course, he's still a human, and there may be some times where he wouldn't maintain what he wanted to maintain.

But still. With this mindset at his age, he's already satisfied with it.

This world isn't any different when it comes to his first one when it comes to tendencies, here was even worse! But it's not like he cared anyway. Changing himself depended solely on him.

"Kazuma-san, as the reward, I shall show you my Ultimate Spell!"

Kazuma raised an eyebrow and nodded. It wouldn't hurt to see what kind of this Ultimate Spell she spoke of.

"You ready?!"

"Anytime."

She brightly smiled at him, to which he replied with a small smile of his own.

With shy movements, she pointed her staff at a random hill that coincidentally had an abandoned castle on it and the staff started to glow. Menacing, colourful yet mystifying particles started to revolve around her. Purple mist surrounded her and a huge circle upon the circle and yet another circle appeared in the sky above the abandoned castle.

Her sole crimson eye glowed and a bright orange pillar appeared.

And with that, the chant started.

"The earth trembled, the sea quivered, the sky shattered! Hell's unmatched, Earth's extinguished, Heaven's crumbled! Humans were extinct, Devils have surrendered, Gods have perished! Penetrate the space, Stop the time and Give me the power to destroy all! I commanded thee, the Absolute one, with an unmatched spell, to BOW DOWN!

EXPLOSION!"

The moment she finished shouting, the destructive orange pillar penetrated the three huge circles as if they were nonexistent and it landed on the abandoned castle. It penetrated everything on its way, as if it was ethereal. And what happened afterwards was indescribable.

Absolute destruction.

BOOM!

"Wow."

Yeah, he was dumbfounded.

If this is what she could do as a mere beginner… then what kind of catastrophe this girl could bring as an Advanced, no, as a Master?

...Nope, no idea. He had no idea.

The girl was proning on the ground. It seems like her body couldn't handle the burden. Which makes sense. If she could stand still after casting such a spell, then he'd be shocked.

"H-How was it…?"

"...Eh, the reward eclipsed the task."

"...heheheh…"
