Prologue

The year is 21XX. The world has achieved a lot of advancement. True peace has been truly achieved since then.

In this day and age, people mostly thinks about their daily lives. Most of the government are only racing for the one to find a new habitable planet.

Due to this peace, a lot of people desired something else. These desire was exploited by the companies who can procure this. This desire is known as indulgence.

Most people nowadays are looking for entertainment. The company delivers and now these people can use their free time for these things.

One of the things that these companies made are known as VR Games. These type of games incorporates Augmented Reality (AR) to achieve full immersion on the game. Unlike console games, people can experience everything inside the game without even having to move from their rooms.

VR Games are very popular and there are billions who consumes this piece of entertainment. This is why many companies tries to advance their tech, trying to one upped their competitors so most of the consumers will come to them.

There are many tech giants who are competing for this, but they can't possibly compare to the number one gaming industry from Japan. This gaming company is known as Genka.

Genka is the greatest game company in the world. Every title it made are always a hit for the people, and they are not that strict when it comes to their products. They make sure to always have contact with their fandom and take care of their issues, which just boosted customer trust.

Now, it's been five years since they made a game. Other companies thought they will have the time to shine, thinking that they are in a decline.

Imagine their surprised when one day, Genka announced a new game. Along with it is a new state of the art VR Capsule that they can use to play this game exclusively.

Their new title is Mythical Legion Online. This game, they really go all out.

The game features a world of swords and magic. But that's not really the point.

The real appeal of the game is that Players can create their own Servers for free. These Servers can be visited by other players so they can play in their world.

The world generated from their Server is random, which makes it a novel experience to any players. If they wanted to have new sights to see and places to explore, they can just exchange servers. The NPCs of this game are very lifelike so it is impossible to discern whether they are a real person or not without looking at their status icons.

The game receives raved reviews and almost every game companies gave up at trying to compete.

"Just a few more..."

The sound of metal clanging and sparks occuring can be heard inside this dingy basement. This place is filled with many scraps and some giant cords coiled around the ceilings.

In the middle of this, an ash grey haired beauty is facing a metallic contraption. She looks a bit frazzled, her hair unkempt and looks to have not cleaned herself for a day. She is wearing an outfit commonly seen from engineers, with the goggles and all. Her blue colored eyes were directed at the metallic contraption as her gloved hands take careful movements, putting the last sheet of metal.

With a click, it is finally done. She gave a sigh at it before turning to her computer.

"I just need to check if it works and then..!"

Excitement is evident in her tone as she goes to her computer. She goes to the computer, typed out something and then, it is done.

The sound of something whirling resounded on the basement. Some electricity crackles before the metallic contraption lights up.

Her eyes brightened at this display.

"Finally! With this, I can finally play the game!

This is Koneko Misha. A 16 year old girl living alone in her house. She is a natural genius, but surprisingly, she is a dropped out.

Her main motto is taking care of her hobbies instead of her life. It is an inadequate way of living, but for her, she thinks she can do it.

She is a natural genius, so even without high school diploma, she can take care of herself. She have some odd jobs from here and there which gave her enough money to live for a week at most.

Due to this way of living though, she can't afford for her hobbies. So she always make ways so she can play games that she wanted despite not being able to play for it.

Yes, she's hacking or pirating it.

It's shameless, but she want to always keep up to date.

On the day the Genka released Mythical Legion Online, she have tried to saved up on money only to feel discouraged after seeing the price of one of their units.

Thanks to Genka's friendly interaction with their fandom, she managed to acquire the vague descriptions for their blueprints. These vague descriptions are the ones she uses to create her own.

"With this, I can finally play it. It's been a long undertaking and I've endured a month of little to no sleep!"

She opens the glass covering her improvised VR Capsule.

"But with this, I can finally play it! The game that my friends kept bragging about!"

From friends, she meant about her online friends.

She goes inside her VR Capsule with a large smile of her face.

"Okay. System open!"

A large smile is plastered of her face, excitement at the thought of playing the newest game.
