Mythra quickly spun out of the way of a kid running past her with incredible speed, all the while managing not to drop the bag of goodies she had bought. She may have lost her Aegis core, but she was still plenty fast enough to deal with a kid that was not watching where he was going.

Sparing the kid a slight glare, Mythra continued on her way. New Garfront had become quite the town lately. Technically an independent city, it was closest to Leftheria. It served largely as a hub for the expanding frontier of the new world they found themselves in. She and Pyra had helped Rex pick an ideal location, and thanks to that and their clout, the town was expanding at an insane pace.

Even if Mythra found the extra crowds to be a bit irritating at times, she knew Rex loved seeing the town grow. Speaking of Rex, he was still leading the mercenaries. A year of relative peace had left him with enough time to really get a feel for being a proper leader. It also helped that they were generally doing exploratory and escort missions these days. They played a large part in helping people settle the new world, and no one knew it quite as well as they did except maybe Pyra herself, but topographical survey data only told you so much.

The bustling city was also something of a mess at the moment as well. In the early days, it was like Garfront with the mercs handling pretty much everything. The influx of civilians brought that system in question. Given his status as hero of Alrest, there was a significant movement that wanted to make New Garfront the capitol of a united Leftherian nation with Rex as king, but, well, Rex was not sold on that idea.

As it stood, Rex was still in charge, but they were looking into other options. He was the official leader of the mercenaries, but he hardly operated alone. In addition to Yew and Zuo, Pyra and herself often helped him with the clerical work. Mythra may not have had the same supercomputer embedded in her chest anymore, but she still had an eye for detail.

Pyra did still have said supercomputer embedded in her chest and could make use of it now, but Rex often went on missions still and she always went with him as his blade when he did. That often left Mythra back home to deal with the boring paperwork.

Arriving back at the house she and her sister shared with their driver, she saw Rex and Pyra out in the garden. It seemed at some point that they had forgotten about the whole watering thing as Rex chased Pyra with a watering can before Pyra grabbed the hose. They were an extremely cute couple.

Mythra resisted the urge to gag.

She knew that she should be happy for them, but something about seeing them being so…happy together rubbed her the wrong way. Though, maybe it was not so much them as it was Pyra. Mythra had been feeling increasingly perturbed with "Perfect Pyra."

The way everyone seemed to love her. Their reactions to her were always warmer than the ones she got. Then top it all off with the fact that Pyra now had complete access to the power of the Aegis which, albeit weakened, still made her one of the strongest blades around. Though she hardly ever used it. The last time she had seriously accessed that power outside of a few minor cases was around the time they split. She did not need it though to be useful or loved. Neither did Mythra, but it was harder and harder for her to see that as the bitter taste rose in her mouth.

She knew she had put Pyra through a lot, but did she have to be so perfect? Was it too much to ask to beat her in something these days?

"Hey, ack!" Rex got sprayed in the face before a truce could start, "Hey, Mythra. Back already?" Well, did he have to seem so excited to see her?

"Yeah, I got the stuff for the party," Mythra held the sacks of goodies up.

"Oh great!" Pyra ran over to the fence, "This should be fun!"

"Yeah, I'm really looking forward to it," Rex smiled at her. How adorably nauseating. Mythra shook the thought away and smiled too. It was the anniversary of finding the new Elysium. Seemed like as good a time as any to pull the group back together.

"Are they still on schedule?"

"As far as I know," Pyra answered, "They should be here soon. We should get to work."

"Uh, sure," Mythra replied choking down her own irritation.

The party was for friends mostly, but it was still pretty crowded. Largely due to the fact that Azurda had flown most of Fonsett village out to the gathering. Their house was crowded, but Rex had a massive smile on his face as he called out to get everyone's attention.

"Thanks for coming all the way out here!" Rex started, "It's so great to see you all again. With all of you here, Pyra and I have something to share." Rex pulled Pyra closer to his side, "Pyra and I are engaged!"

The room was suddenly in an uproar of congratulations as Mythra slowly processed the information. Married. Mythra's head seemed to spin as she found her way outside to the garden. Married. Everything just kept coming up Pyra, didn't it? Perfect little Pyra….

Mythra shook her head. She knew her sister deserved this. Especially after what she had done. Besides, she was on the clock. By keeping the core crystal, she kept a lot of power, but she also remained mortal. She and Rex would not be kicking the bucket anytime soon. As a blade eater he would live for a long time, but not indefinitely. Pyra may have decided to live, but not without Rex.

"Mythra?" Speaking of which…

"Pyra," Mythra turned to smile at her sister.

"Are you feeling unwell?"

"Huh? Oh, sorry, I'm raining on your big announcement, aren't I?"

"Don't worry about it. If something's bothering you, I want you to tell me."

"Don't worry about it. Just…don't forget about me while you're living your happy lives."

"Oh Mythra, we could never forget you!"

"Heh, thanks. Come here," Mythra pulled Pyra into a hug, "Love you, sis."

"Love you too."

As Pyra went to rejoin the festivities, Mythra hesitated for a bit. Looking up at the moon, she failed to notice the slight flicker of her core crystal. By the time she turned back to the house, it had stopped as quickly as it had started.

A/N: Well, here it is, a sequel. I've got rough drafts for a…part one of sorts. After those are out, will probably have an update break.
