"I know that the Red Dawn has resources, and that everyone knows where Avengers tower is, but how in the hell did they find you?" Tony asked out loud, holding Peppers hand as Bruce cleaned a minor cut on the gingers forehead. "I had that limousine made special so no tracking systems could have done this."

"They were being watched," May said, walking over to Daisy as she stared inside of the operating room. The S.H.I.E.L.D. Agent had finally gotten rid of her crutches that morning.

Although Lyla had managed to heal Karley, there was still some concerning damages to the girl, Simmons stating that it'd be best for the surgeons to double check.

"God damn it!" Stark yelled, pounding his fist on the table. He wasn't used to having to worry about Pepper simply going to the mall, though he should've known better with the company she was with. Not to mention that he felt responsible for Karley's safety. All of the girls safety really, as they were all staying with him in his tower.

"Tony, we can't change what's already happened," Steve gently tried to calm the billionaires anger. "But we can talk to the ones responsible for the attack. They're with NYPD but I'm sure if we sell them some bullshit about it being Avengers business, they'll let us talk to them."

"Language," Tony mumbled, so low he didn't think the super solider heard him as he stared at his throbbing knuckles. Steve smiled at the old memory, letting him know that he heard.

"I'll go," Natasha said, standing up and grabbing her jacket and throwing it on, brushing some glass off it. "I'll get us answers one way or another."

"I'm coming with you," Daisy stated boldly, forcing herself to tear her eyes away from her sister. As much as she didn't want to leave, the older girl knew that her sister wasn't in any immediate danger and she was in the best hands money could buy. Literally. Tony kept the best surgeons in his tower because of their dangerous profession.

"You think that's a good idea Speedy?" Natasha questioned as the brunette made her way to the door, the redhead handing her her jacket.

"I want answers too," she said, turning to May and Coulson. "Will you stay with her?" she asked gently. May nodded her head, Coulson wheeling himself over to the woman before they could leave.

"Skye are you sure you want to do this?" He asked, the concern evident on his face.

"It's Daisy, DC. But yea, I'm sure. I need to do this. Call me when she's out?"

"Daisy, shit yea. I don't think I'll ever get used to that. I'll text you every 15 minutes with an update," he assured her, turning his chair around before stopping again, looking to Natasha. "You take care of her Red, have her back by midnight. Or else."

Natasha smiled for the first time since the accident. Only a handful of people ever called her Red, but Coulson was the first one who gave her the nickname a decade ago.

"Yes sir," she said, stilling smiling as she put her hand on Daisy's back and led her to the garage.

Coulson watched the two leave, sighing to himself. He knew the two of them were together, even though that haven't publicly told anyone. Hell, the whole tower knew. For two spies, they weren't very sneaky.

As Natasha drove through the streets, extremely carefully after what had happened, she couldn't help but be worried about the girl who was next to her, staring out the window.

"Is Skye your middle name?" She asked, trying to break the silence between them. Daisy smirked, lifting her head off of the window as they drove to the police station. Stark had called ahead to let them know the two woman were coming, so Daisy was thankful she wouldn't have to deal with that headache when they arrived. She was going to get answers.

"No, it's a name I gave myself at the orphanage I grew up in. I was young when I chose it, but it was better than the name they gave me," she snorted, recalling her original name.

"What, you didn't like Mary Sue Poot?" Natasha teased, glancing over with a smile, remembering the name Coulson called her a month back.

"Would you?" Daisy challenged back, before turning to a more serious note. "I don't think I've ever asked, but do you have any siblings Nat?" Natasha thought for a moment before answering.

"I did, once. A long time ago. Younger sister."

"I don't know how to do this. How to be a sister. I want to stay with Karley, make sure she's alright. But at the same time I want to kill the people that shot at us, shot her," Daisy admitted in frustration, her thoughts eating away at her.

"I know the feeling, trust me," Natasha said, slowing down to a stop at the red light before turning to the girl beside her. "I was willing to shoot a bunch of men when I was eleven years old, trying to protect Yelena. It didn't work out in the end."

"I'm sorry. Where is she now?" Daisy dared to ask.

"I'm not sure. We got separated in the Red Room," Natasha bitterly laughed. "Barton and I took it down a few years back though, I never found her."

"I'm so sorry Nat," Daisy whispered, grabbing the older woman's free hand with her own. "If you'd like, I could always, ya know, look into it. Before I was this badass Inhuman I was an even better hacker," she offered.

"Mmm, maybe after we take down the Red Dawn, I'll take you up on that offer. One problem at a time, right?" She glanced to the brunette. "What's with all the bad guys choosing names with red in them?" She joked, changing the subject to something lighter.

"I was literally thinking the same thing!" Daisy laughed, squeezing her hand a little tighter. "I mean, the Red Room, the Red Dawn, come on, they could've at least gone for something original."

"Right?" Natasha agreed, pulling into the police station where there were people waiting for them. "Ready to do this?"

Daisy took a deep breath before placing a kiss on the redheads hand.

"With you, I'm ready to do anything," she softly admitted. "Let's go get some answers."

Smiling like a dork, the redhead got out of the car, grabbing Daisy's door for her.

"Let's get some answers then, Speedy."

"Alright Mack, keep me updated," Coulson said, ending the phone call before wheeling himself over to May, who was still watching the Doctors work with a careful eye.

"What did he say?" She asked, eyes never leaving the girl inside. The Agent could tell that they were nearing the end of the surgery. It wasn't very long, or dangerous, but they had to properly close what little remained of the wound.

"They just got a hit on the name Mrs. Frederic. She was an ex S.H.I.E.L.D. Agent," Coulson explained, noticing Lyla was also there after Simmons forced the girl to change out of her bloody clothes. Both of them stood there, Simmons talking to the blond about the amazing things her powers could do. "Turned out she was Hydra when S.H.I.E.L.D. fell. She was in charge of the biological science department. Her cover name was Michelle Glover."

"Sir did you just say Michelle Glover? As in the head of the biology department?" Simmons asked, halting the conversation between her and the blond.

"Did you know her?" May asked, finally looking away from the operating room, interested in the investigation.

"Yes, I did. She was extremely focused on the research that S.H.I.E.L.D. had on Bucky Barnes, always asking me about it. I had no interest in that kind of stuff, but it makes sense now that she turned out to be Hydra."

"That adds up if her job was to work for the Red Dawn after the fall of S.H.I.E.L.D. and continue the testing on Inhumans," May thought out loud. "This is confirming our suspicion that the Red Dawn is a part of Hydra."

"Simmons I need you to go talk to Bruce, he's been running tests on that syringe the team got yesterday," Coulson directed, the scientist nodding her head before leaving to do just that. He turned to May. "If the Red Dawn is working with Hydra then this is worse than we thought. Go inform Stark on the new development, I'm going to text Daisy." May nodded, leaving swiftly to find the billionaire in his lab.

Lyla stood there, staring as the doctors wheeled her girlfriend out of the room, before moving to follow, Coulson right behind her. As the two of them moved silently through the halls, the Director noticed the blonds hand clenched tightly together.

"You did good out there Lyla," he said, rolling into the elevator with the blond and the rest of the doctors.

"I know," she said, grabbing Karley's hand from the gurney. Another thing that was becoming too familiar for them. "I didn't even know I could do that. I guess being an Inhuman isn't all bad."

"No, it's not. Sure it has its downfalls, be it also has its upsides," he gestured to Karley. "You saved her life."

"I didn't even know what I was doing. I haven't truly explored my powers I guess."

"Maybe that's something you could get help with here. I know that Simmons would be interested in working with your capabilities." She gave him a look. 'I'm not a lab rat.' "Purely for scientific reasons of course!" He added on quickly.

"Right this way ladies," said the detective, leading Daisy and Natasha through the many hallways of their station. "We only managed to get two of them, the rest killed themselves with a cyanide embedded tooth. Whoever they are, Hydra or whatever, they're hardcore."

"Thank you for your cooperation, Detective...?" Daisy trailed off, rounding a corner as the man in question swiped his ID on the elevator, pressing the down button. Natasha took notice that they were heading to the lowest level.

"Cunningham, but you can call me Robert," he flashed a smile, all too welcoming. Robert was middle aged, his suit a bit wrinkly, probably from getting called into work so late. His dirty blond hair was barely combed as he tried raking his fingers through it.

"Well thanks, Robert. We really appreciate this. We'll also give statements while we're here, of course," Daisy offered, smiling back at the man.

"Of course, NYPD is happy to help where we can. I have to say, Ms. Romanoff, my daughter is a huge fan of yours," he said, turning to the redhead. "She just turned eleven and the only thing she wanted for her birthday was the Black Widow action figure," laughing, the detective led them off the elevator and through the dark halls.

"Well you can go home tonight and tell her that I said happy birthday," the redhead smiled warmly, memorizing the hallways in case they needed a quick escape. Of course since they were in a police station they took the redheads weapons, but she didn't need one. Neither did Daisy. They were both a weapon on their own.

"Would you mind if I took a picture?" He asked out of the blue, obviously nervous about asking the question. As much as she didn't want to, she nodded her head. It was harmless. "Ms. Johnson would you mind hopping in too? She would go nuts if she saw her dad working with two of her heroes."

Daisy smiled unsurely before joining them, waving a bit to the camera as the detective took the picture.

"Thank you so much, Riley is never going to believe me, so I needed some proof," he said through his smiles, pocketing his phone before the trio stopped in front of a set of rooms, officers stationed outside the doors. "So like I said, we have two of them," he began explaining, going into business, as he grabbed a thin folder from the desk. "They won't give us name, so we ran their mugshots and fingerprints through every data base. It came up empty."

As he was talking, Natasha noticed Daisy discreetly hit a button on her phone. The Russian smiled, knowing that she was hacking into NYPD's servers. Robert explained what they had learned so far, which was nothing, not that NYPD could be blamed. They were dealing with something out of their league.

"Would you mind if we talked to them?" Natasha asked, gesturing inside of the first room. Inside sat a burly man, probably somewhere in his mid forties, with slicked black hair. He was staring through the one way glass, not moving a muscle. In the second room sat a much younger man, no older than his mid twenties, if that, who couldn't sit still, clearly nervous.

"Go for it, Ms. Romanoff. I have to get back to the crime scene and run point there, but my officers will stay down here for you protection," he said, turning to walk away before stopping, realizing just who he was talking to. "Not that you two need it of course!"

"We appreciate it Robert," Daisy said, glancing at her phone smiling. "Please update us if you find anything."

"Of course, same goes to you two," he said, turning to leave this time, sighing a breath of relief that they weren't insulted.

"Oh and detective," Natasha called out when he reached the elevator. "Don't ruin the clothes in the car. We expect those to be shipped to Stark tower when NYPD is done with it." He nodded as the elevator closed.

"Really?" Daisy said, scanning through her phone. "You can be intimidating without even trying, you know that Romanoff?"

"What? I can't help it if people find me scary. That was my nice face."

"I'd hate to see your mean face."

"Well how about some good cop bad cop then Speedy?"

"Sounds good to me. My nice face is ten times better than yours anyways," she joked as the two walked to the door of the first room. Natasha shot her a smirk, looking up into her eyes.

"No, you're just beautiful," she said after a moment of hesitation, leaning up to give the brunette a quick peck to the lips before opening the door, walking in. Daisy stood in the doorway with a light blush forming at the compliment for a second, before walking in as well.

It was time to get some answers.

"So you're saying that the red liquid is just a modified serum of sodium amytal?" Simmons questioned, holding the only vial of the substance, peering into it curiously.

"Yes, but it also has many other drugs like mescaline, scopolamine, lysergic acid, amphetamines, chlorpromazine along with other altercations," Bruce explained, adjusting his glasses on his nose as he stared through a microscope.

"That's impossible, all those drugs would have killed Karley," she argued, scoffing at the claim.

"Ah, but you're forgetting that Karley isn't human. You told me yourself the other day, when the Inhumans go through terrigenesis their DNA is brand new," he simply stated, amazing at what he was seeing. "They also went through thousands of years of evolution in one day, so I'm sure that they're new DNA would protect them from the liquid, at least the physically harmful effects."

"I guess you have a point. This clearly isn't what they used on Bucky, it's much more potent than that. Even the Winter Soldier wouldn't survive this. Though, even with their alien DNA I'm surprised that the Inhumans could survive something this poisonous."

"Yea, I've thought about that too. It's insane, I think I'm the only other person that would survive this stuff," Bruce laughed, gesturing to himself.

As they sat in silence for a few minutes, Jemma in thought, Bruce still examining the liquid, a loud explosion was heard from Tony's side of the lab, smoke filtering out. Thinking the worst, Jemma ran through the smoke and into the lab, knowing Fitz was undoubtedly in there as well.

She was relieved to see that Tony and Fitz were slumped against the wall covered in soot, but fine.

"Fitz what the hell was that?" Jemma questioned, rushing over to check on him.

"Anthony Edward Stark!" A voice shrieked, heels clicking as Pepper rushed down the hall having walked in a moment before the explosion.

"Uh oh," Tony said, hitting Fitz in the arm. "She never uses my full name unless I'm in trouble," he joked, standing up to go face the storm that was Pepper Potts.

"What did you do this time?" Asked the ginger, glaring at her boyfriend and the younger boy working with him. She sighed, pinching her nose. "Who did it?"

Both Fitz and Tony pointed at the other, hoping to get out of the wrath of their two ginger girlfriends in front of them.

As if to save them, May walked in after Pepper.

"Stark we have a name."

"Ahhh the infamous Black Widow," the man in front of Natasha spit the name out. "Just the woman I wanted to see."

"Clearly, since you didn't kill yourself, it's either that or you just want to live the rest of your life in prison," she shrugged nonchalantly. "All your buddies killed themselves rather than being taken in, which tells me one of two things - either you don't have a cyanide capsule like the others, which is unlikely since you've been working for the Red Dawn for some time based on all those scars, which leads me to believe that you're somewhere up the chain of command. What do you think your bosses will do when they find out you're still alive?" The man bit his tongue and looked away. "Or you're trying to protect that kid in the other room. Is that your son?"

As the interrogation went on, Daisy kept checking her phone for updates on her sister. She let out a low breath when she received one from Coulson. Her sister was out of surgery and in recovery. It went perfectly.

With that news, Daisy could finally switch her focus to the man in front of her.

"If that is your son, do you really think that the Red Dawn will let you or him live?" She jumped into the conversation. "If you talk we can make sure you're somewhere safe, where they can't reach you. But if you don't," she clicked her tongue. "Well then, I'm sure there's a comfy, low security prison that he'll be in by the morning. Where anyone can reach him."

At hearing the hidden threat, the man finally reacted, pulling as hard as he could against his restraints and jumping up, his chair hitting the ground. Natasha didn't flinch, his hands stopping a few inches from her face.

"Shut your mouth you bitch!" He screamed, temples bulging with veins. Natasha sighed, reaching up to touch her earring. A small EMP went out through the room, shutting the cameras off. Daisy watched as the lights went off, covering them in darkness a moment before the stations generators kicked in, the lights back on but much dimmer. The cameras didn't turn back on.

"Listen here," said the Russian, standing up and circling behind him. "Give us the answers we need and we'll make sure you and your son go to a maximum security prison under false identities, somewhere the Red Dawn can't reach you. If not, well, you heard the lady."

"You know," the man said, laughing. "He isn't even my son. My cheating whore of a wife had him with another man. Do your worst," he spit at her feet, still laughing. "I'm only still alive because I have a message for you."

"And what would that be?" Daisy taunted, taking the seat where Natasha had been, crossing her legs.

"I'm no coward. I enjoy my work, hunting down the Inhumans. I enjoy killing you monsters!" He was screaming now, still pulling against his chains. "You know, I worked with your sister. When she was Surge, I was a part of her team. Every mission we went on, I thought about shooting her just for fun. The only reason I didn't is because she was just as good at her job as I am. Killing her own kind. So when I finally did get to shoot her in that alleyway, it was a dream come true."

Daisy sat there, unmoving, staring at the asshole that shot her sister. Natasha knew what was about to happen before it did, so she helped out by kicking the mans legs in, putting him on his knees on the ground as Daisy punched him, her metal gauntlets cutting his cheek open.

"Where is Mrs. Frederic?" She asked coldly, over with the games. He looked back at her, teeth bloody as he continued grinning.

"Every night as she got beat to shit by Rumlow, I fell asleep peacefully, the sound music to my ears." Another punch, this time to the other side of his face. He spit blood onto the cement.

"Where is she!" Daisy screamed. "Where can I find Mrs. Frederic you asshole!" He was laughing again, his hair falling into his face as he leaned back.

"She wanted me to tell you that she's not done with your sister. Mrs. Frederic made a promise to very powerful people for your sister. Do you know why the Red Dawn was tasked with killing your species?" He asked, leaning forward once more, meeting Daisy in the middle of the table, nose to nose. "There's a war coming, Daisy, and the Red Dawn is taking down all the soldiers that the Kree made all those years ago. For him. He who is to come will not be stopped. There's not much time left, and I won't be here to see it."

The man smashed his cheek against the metal table, dislodging a tooth.

"Hail Hydra," he whispered, cracking the fake tooth open. Foam followed soon after, the man going limp with a smile still on his face.

"What the hell did that mean?" Natasha asked, moving back to Daisy's side as their suspect stopped breathing. "Who's coming?"

"I don't know," Daisy admitted, walking towards the door. "Let's go talk to the kid."

As they explained what had happened to the officers outside, they grimly told them that the kid was dead. He killed himself when the lights went out.

"I guess we go back now," Natasha said, leading the way to the elevator, officers taking their statements as they moved.

"I ran the name Michelle Glover through our systems," Stark announced to the two woman who had just explained what they found, the team now gathered. "She is practically a ghost, but Jarvis can find just about anything on anyone, however minimal," he bragged, downing the rest of his coffee as he pulled up a picture of the woman they were after. "Meet Michelle Glover, AKA Mrs. Frederic. Last known location was here in New York a couple years ago. However, Mrs. Frederic went off the radar after her son was exposed to terrigenesis. He didn't survive the change."

"So we have a motive," Steve pointed out, his thoughts on finding Bucky. "But we need a new location. Did she have any other living relatives?"

"She left behind a husband and her other son, Enzo. He was the twin of Elliot, the son who passed away. Age at the time of event was twenty, but he's now twenty two, attending college at Penn State University. His father passed away last year from lung cancer," Stark explained, pulling up a picture of two identical boys. No one could tell which was which, but they had their arms wrapped around each other standing on a football field after a game.

"So they had a rough go of life recently," Sam stated. "I guess the next step is to talk to the kid."

"Or we could bug his apartment," Natasha offered. "It'd be easier than trying to explain why we're there and trying to talk to him about his mother. If he is still in contact with her, we'll find out."

Coulson nodded his head at the plans offered. Everyone looked to him for his opinion.

"I think Romanoff is right," he said. "We don't want him to know something's up, if he does he might try and run."

"I'll get ready then," Natasha said, taking off for the equipment room, Daisy behind her.

"Is it just me or are they attached at the hip?" Stark asked the room, watching the woman leave together, which was becoming a common thing. Whenever they were on a mission they were always together, and when they weren't, well Jarvis had informed him that Natasha had been sneaking off to Daisy's room.

"Young love," Coulson mumbled, so quiet no one heard. Not that they needed to hear him to know that the two woman were seeing each other.

"Well, I'm gonna go make some coffee for the flight then," Stark announced, walking for the door. "I really need to just put a coffee machine on the Quinjet. Jarvis remind me to do that as soon as we're back!"

"Of course, Mr. Stark," the AI replied, already having taken note.

Bugging Enzo Frederics room was easier than expected since he lived on the first floor. The window was left unlocked so Daisy and Natasha had swiftly crawled through, getting the job done easily.

Now the two of them sat on a bench outside of the gas station across the street, keeping an eye out for the kid.

"You know this doesn't count as a date Speedy," Natasha said, sipping on the slushy she held, adjusting her sunglasses against the bright sun.

"No, but it's a start," Daisy replied, taking a drink from her own slushy. The two sat there, baking in the afternoon heat as their target walked up to the door before unlocking it.

"I don't understand how that makes any sense," Natasha stated, nodding her head to the boy as he entered his apartment. "I mean, he locks the door but not his windows?"

"Well I'm not complaining, it made our job easier."

"You do have a point," Daisy said, both of them standing up before making their way to the cloaked Quinjet not far away.

"Any yet?" Daisy asked, walking up the ramp to see the team gather around the central console, Stark typing away.

"Nothing yet, I'm actually have a hard time cracking into this kids system. He obviously has advanced anti-virus equipment for a reason, which makes me hopeful," replied the billionaire, still typing away. After about five minutes of nothing, Daisy set her slushy down and made her way to join him. Steve watched curiously, technology not his specialty as Sam started bringing the aircraft into the air.

"Move over old man," she joked, taking his position at the console. Stark scoffed at the intrusion, watching to see what she could do, clearly expecting her to fail just as he had. After a few minutes the screen lit up and they could all see the files from his apartment begin to download.

"What the...?" He trailed off, lowering his glasses in disbelief. "Well shit, you're good," he stated the obvious as she continued to comb through the files, looking for the phone records.

"Yea, I used to be in the Rising Tide before I joined S.H.I.E.L.D.. I learned this from them," she gestured to the screen where she had finally pulled up phone records, emails, texts and everything she could. "Now we just need to go through them."

The next hour the team sat on the hovering aircraft, staying close by, combing through the files that they had gotten, revealing that Enzo was indeed involved with his mother still. He called her once a week, every Sunday at 6PM. They could tell that the mother and son were talking in code through the phone, and after having Jarvis decrypt it, they found out that they had another meeting planned for later that night at the docks.

"That doesn't seem shady at all, does it?" Natasha commented, attaching her widow bits beneath the brown leather jacket she was wearing. "What's the plan here?"

Steve stepped up, placing his shield onto his back, not the same shield that he left with Tony all those months ago, but rather an ordinary black metal one. While it wasn't as strong as his old vibranium shield, it still got the job done.

"We go in, observe until we get a positive ID on Mrs. Frederic, then Tony does his thing. We wait for her to lead us back to whatever base she's operating out of, I already contacted Coulson and let him know what's going on. It's just us," he finished, looking around the table to his friends.

Sam easily finished strapping his wings on, double checking himself to make sure he had everything. Stark sat in a chair playing candy crush again, not needing to suit up quite yet, as he could get ready in a moments notice. Natasha was always ready, and Daisy was wrapping her hands before placing her gauntlets back into place. Steve had noticed they were always on the Inhuman.

He also noticed how undermanned they were, Bruce back at the tower doing research, Clint retired, Thor still on Asgard, Rhodey having some work to finish with the Air Force, Vision at Wanda's side as she still recovered, which was thankfully going good, and Strange having run off to follow his own leads.

"There's no backup coming team, it's just us. We need to be ready for any new Inhumans that they may have mind wiped, since losing Karley. So watch each others backs out there. We also can't forget that they very well might have Bucky again. Keep in mind that they're not working willingly, so aim to capture," he advised that last part towards Stark.

"Yea I got it Capsicle," he replied, finally having put his phone away.

"Alright we're approaching the docks," Sam called out from the cockpit, having taken the jet off autopilot to land them on a nearby rooftop while staying cloaked.

"Alright," Daisy said, shaking her nerves out. "Let's do this."

They had gotten a positive ID on Mrs. Frederic as she met with her son, talking briefly before heading into one of the cargo containers, who group of Red Dawn Agents flanking them carefully. The Avengers took note that one of the Agents, who stood out from the rest, walked around in a billowing black cloak. His entire body was hidden from view in his long sleeve black shirt, matching pants and boots, with a very familiar, almost signature mask on the bottom half of his face.

It was the same as the one Bucky and Karley had worn. They took note that this was definitely an Inhuman, but his powers were to be determined.

Daisy and Natasha were tightly squeezed together a few cargo containers away from the group, having moved closer so they could hear what was going on. Steve was watching from a nearby window of the abandoned buildings, his eyes peeled for any sign of danger. Sam was crouched on the rooftop, ready to swoop in at a moments notice, Tony staying inside the cloaked jet s his suit wasn't made for stealth.

"We've been looking everywhere for a crystal, Enzo, trust me they're not easy to come by nowadays. S.H.I.E.L.D. had them all collected and locked away, same with the fish pills that were contaminated," Mrs. Frederic explained to her son, who was eyeing whatever was inside of the cargo hold.

"They've got to be talking about the teregin crystals," Daisy said into her comms for the rest to hear. "She's searching for them. It's what begins the process of terrigenesis. If you see one, do not touch it, whatsoever. With one touch it'll turn you to ash. Also do let them break, because it releases the mist inside of it with the same results."

"How come these never ended up on our radar?" Stark asked, concerned with this news.

"Because S.H.I.E.L.D. locked most of them up, except the bottles of fish pills that infected a few cities. That's a long story for another time. But if she gets her hands on these crystals, she can create new Inhumans"

"I thought she was trying to kill off the Inhumans?" Steve asked.

"Me too, but I'm guessing whoever she promised my sister to, she's planning on making an army of mind controlled Inhumans for them," Daisy answered, watching as Enzo entered the container.

"What is this?" He asked his mother, gesturing towards whatever was in the box.

"I'm not sure how it works, Enzo. Hydra never uncovered it's true power, but Dr. Whitehall did extensive research on it, so it must be something," the mother explained, following her son into the cargo hold as well.

"Well to me, it just looks like a dumb block of metal," Enzo's voice echoed.

"Well I lost two men who tried to touch it, they turned to ash. But you, my son, will prevail. Go ahead, grab it," Mrs. Frederic said, pushing her son forward. "Join your brother."

"I better not get the same results he did," Enzo complained, walking out of the cargo hold once more, his mother following as a man carried a box out. What was inside of it made Daisy's heart stop.

It was another obelisk.

"Your brother has been an important part of Hydra, Enzo, don't speak like he's dead," yelled the mother, gesturing to the cloaked figure who stood unmoving.

"No mom, he's just a freak that belongs to the shadows and doesn't speak anymore!" The kid yelled back, pointing at his twin.

"Did you copy that?" Natasha whispered into the comms, making sure the boy up top heard.

"Yea, we got all that. So the cloaked man is Elliot," Stark confirmed.

"That's not all," Daisy continued. "That object is full of crystals, but they'd need to bring it to a temple in order to open it. It's touch is still deadly though, be careful."

The Avengers watched as the boy in question reached into the box, pulling the obelisk out with one hand.

"Why am I not changing?" Enzo asked, the ruins on it glowing a familiar sight to Daisy as she recalled when she was forced to grab the thing.

"We don't know, but we plan on taking it to the same place that Surge was found in Pennsylvania, tomorrow actually. We have a group of Inhuman descendants ready for the change. We'll have an army soon enough, my son. Let's go, we're heading back to base now."

The group started walking to the cars they arrived in, and as they passed Daisy and Natasha, both of them noticed that the cloaked figure clung to the shadows as they went. They also noticed that he was floating, not walking.

"We can't let them get to that temple in Pennsylvania, otherwise we're going to have a whole new problem on our hands," Daisy frantically explained, ready to jump in and fight then and there.

"Relax Johnson, I placed a tracker on one of the cars while they were talking," Stark said calmly. "Regroup to the Quinjet, we're gonna follow them."

After the cars left, Natasha and Daisy made their way back onto the roof before boarding the still cloaked jet.

"So you're saying that with one touch, that chunk of stone will turn us to dust?" Stark asked in disbelief.

"Yea, the obelisk. It does that to protect itself from those who aren't of Inhuman descendant. It won't turn us into an Inhuman simply by touching it, but if they get it to that temple in Pennsylvania, it'll open up, releasing a mist that will trigger terrigenesis. Then there's a shit ton of crystals inside that'll do the same," she explained to the table around her.

"Well, we've dealt with invading aliens, a nuke, a literal god, and a killer robot, so we can handle this," Steve said confidently. "Everyone needs to put on protective clothing, just in case."

And so everyone did, as they slowly made their way through lower New York, following the cars below to their home base. This was it. They were finally going to free the Inhumans.

"Daisy? Is everything okay?" Coulson asked, picking up his phone on the first ring.

"That's actually why I called you. But first, how's Karley?" She asked, leg bouncing up and down in the seat next to Natasha's.

"She's doing good, great actually. Lyla was here earlier, seeing if she could heal the wound the rest of the way, and she practically did. She just woke up, I tried calling you when she did but you didn't answer. Want to talk to her?" He asked.

"Of course," Daisy said excitedly.

"Hey sis," Karley's voice came through the phone, still dry from the medicine.

"Hey, how you feeling?" Daisy asked, relief washing through her at the sound of her sister's voice. Regret filled her that she couldn't be by her side.

"I actually feel great, I woke up about an hour ago. Lyla pretty much closed the wound. Where are you?" Karley asked, her voice breaking a bit at the end.

Daisy filled her sister and Coulson in on everything that transpired in the last few hours, including the new Inhuman, who was Mrs. Frederics not so dead son.

"I don't remember seeing anyone like that around the base when I was there," Karley said, sitting up in her bed. "But you found a new obelisk?"

"Yea, I'm going to make sure it doesn't reach the temple," Daisy told them, determination in her voice. "We're heading to the Red Dawns base as we speak."

"I wanna come," Karley said through the phone and Daisy heard some shuffling around.

"Wha-what do you think you're doing?" Coulson said over the phone. "Sit down right now!"

"You forget Coulson, I'm not one of your Agents," her sister retorted.

"Karley? Listen to Coulson, you wouldn't even be able to make it to the base, we're already there," Daisy bluffed, hoping that it was enough to convince her sister to lay back down.

"Sorry, sister dear. No can do. If you're going to the headquarters I can be of help. I was there for months," Karley explained as she grabbed Coulson's phone and walked away from the man in the wheelchair, who was struggling to keep up with the younger sibling as she made her way to Tony's lab. She knew her suit was there.

"Well, jokes on you. You don't even know where we are," Daisy said, knowing that there was no way her sister could find them.

"No, you're right Daisy. Whatever will I do about that?" Karley asked before hanging up, quickly spotting her old suit. She noticed that Tony had made some altercations to it.

Where the blue lining was, the same shade that matched her power, there was red and white stitching into it as well. The colors of the flag, she noted. Grabbing her mask, she also noticed it that it had been upgraded as she strapped it to her face, locking it in place.

"Hello, Ms. Danvers. How can I help you today?" Jarvis asked her as she tried adjusting her sight to the lens which were scanning everything around her. This was dope.

"Uhh, I'm trying to reach my sister and the team. How can I do that?"

"Well, they're currently an hour away by flight. But, if you're looking for a faster route, Mr. Stark has been looking into your powers and it is believed that if you gather enough energy, you could possibly teleport yourself to the location you're trying to reach, but I advise against that."

"Oh. Why's that?" She asked, not really caring as she zipped the rest of her suit on, which quickly fitted to her body. That was new too.

"It would require the energy to break your cells down, travel through a vacuum, and then rematerialize at your desired location. Such attempts have only been made by a few people before."

"Sounds easy to me," Karley said with a shrug, heading for the door. As soon as she rounded the corner, however, she bumped into someone.

"Where do you think you're going?" May asked, crossing her arms. Karley peaked around her to see Coulson in his wheelchair, a bit out of breath.

"I'm going to, uh, post a picture on instagram?" She said knowing she had been caught.

"You literally just got out of surgery a few hours ago," May sighed, reaching for the girl.

"Not today!" Karley said, tossing Coulson's phone into the air which May caught instinctively, watching as the brunette ran down the hall, turning to wave to them.

"You don't even know how to fly a jet! Get back here!" May called, chasing after the girl a bit slower on her still healing leg.

Coulson watched them play cat and mouse, deciding he was going to take the elevator instead. Karley was just as much trouble as her sister, he thought, laughing to himself.

"I don't need a jet!" Karley said, running up the stairs with May hot on her heels. "Jarvis, where's the nearest source of energy?"

"Take the exit on this floor, Ms. Danvers," Jarvis said. Stark had just made the suit, not expecting it to be worn by Karley any time soon, and he hadn't installed any security measures yet.

"Call me Karley!" She huffed, flying through the door as instructed. "We're partners in crime now buddy!"

"Okay, Karley. In this room on your left, you'll find a suitable power source for your journey."

"Thanks Jarvis," she said, darting into the housing quarters. "What am I looking for?" She asked, eyes scanning the room, knowing she had only a moment before May caught up with her.

"You're looking for Vision. You should be able to gather enough energy from the stone secured in his head. Do not worry, it won't harm him in any way. I've done the calculations and you can hold an infinite amount of energy and power, so don't take too much. You'll know when it's enough," the AI explained to her. As her eyes scanned the different doorways in the hall, she knocked and quickly entered Wanda's room.

"Karley?" Vision questioned from his spot on the couch. "Can we help you?"

She noticed the movie that him and Wanda were watching.

"Hey guys! So sorry to barge in, I just need to borrow you for a moment if I could Vision. It's nothing urgent, also that's a great movie!" She said, panting through her mask as from the stairs she ran up.

"Of course," he smiled, floating off of the couch to the girl, Wanda watching curiously.

"You like science experiments Vision?" She asked, hands on her hips.

"Karley whatever you middle name is Danvers! Get your ass back here right now!" May screamed, opening the door to Natasha's room across the hallway.

"I mean, I am always curious about science, why what did you have in mind?" He asked, his interest peaked at May who was screaming. "You're up to no good, aren't you?" He said with a smile.

"Yup! Just like my sister, anyways, time for a cool experiment!" Karley said, closing her eyes as she projected herself to the astral plane. When she entered, she saw the door to Wanda's room opening, May finally finding her. Thankful for the time difference in the planes, she turned her attention back to Vision. Approaching him with no ill intent this time, she could see that the stone in his head was glowing a lot brighter than anything else around her, almost blinding. "Holy shit," Karley whispered to herself. "Jarvis are you sure this is safe?" She was confused for a moment at the silence that greeted her before realizing where she was.

Of course Jarvis wasn't here.

"Well here goes nothing," she said to herself, reaching for the stone gently. As her fingers brushed against the power, the familiar adrenaline rush filled her. It was different this time though, more powerful. It felt as if she inhaled ten gallons of redbull, her heart beating out of her chest as the energy entered into her system. She had only touched the stone for a few seconds when she felt like she couldn't absorb any more of the energy, so she ripped her hand away forcefully.

Trying to take a deep breath, she approached her body and focused on the thought of her sister, of where she was. It was weird, she didn't know where her sister was exactly, but she could feel her astral projection. She could feel the connection that they shared. So as she entered back into reality, her body now radiating with all the energy she had borrowed from Vision, who looking perfectly fine, just confused, she reach for that connection they shared.

She felt the power absorb her, enter into her bloodstream, eating away at her until her whole body disappeared. Instead she opened her eyes to find herself moving at the speed of light through darkness. It felt like an eternity before she popped back into existence, following her sisters essence. Opening her eyes she was greeted with five familiar faces, all looking at her like she was God himself.

"Holy shit!" Karley yelled, pumping her hands into the air to celebrate. "I just teleported! Hahahaha!" She started laughing, removing her mask so she could take in the fresh air.

"You. Are. Unbelievable," Daisy uttered, still staring in shock at what she just witnessed. Her little sister would be the death of her, but instead of yelling at her, she approached the girl and enveloped her in a hug, thankful she was okay.

"Did you just-" Stark cut himself off, walking over to the two sisters. "There's no way. That was only a simulation. Did you just teleport?" He asked, unsure if his eyes were fooling him.

"Why yes, Mr. Stark I did," she said proudly, Daisy finally letting go of her. "Thanks to Jarvis. He's the one who told me I could do it, so if you wanna be mad, really you should be mad at yourself," she pointed to her facemask. "He literally explained to me what to do."

"I was simply answering her questions, Mr. Stark," the AI defending himself, voice echoing through the Quinjet. "She's the madwoman in the partnership of crime. I assure you sir, I was just doing my job."

"I can't even be mad," Stark exclaimed, poking at the younger sibling, making sure it was real. "That's one of the coolest things I've ever seen."

"I know right!" Karley squealed excitedly, still amazed that she got there.

Daisy nudged Natasha, the rest of the group all staring on in disbelief.

"Am I allowed to ground her?" She asked honestly.

"I-I don't think that's how being a sister works," Natasha answered, eyes never leaving Stark and Karley who were talking to each other about how she managed to teleport.

"-then May was chasing me through the tower, and I walked up to Vision and was like, 'Hey you like science experiments right?' and he was like, 'Of course,' and then I-"

"I think I'm going to have to ground her," Daisy decided, crossing her arms as she listened to her sister recall just how she managed to get to the Quinjet. Her rambling was adorable. "Maybe tomorrow though?" She asked the redhead.

"No, no, no, watch how it's done," Natasha said, walking up to the two before grabbing Tony's ear and pulling him away. "Stark, you're grounded for leaving dangerous equipment out in plain view where Karley could find it." Karley laughed as the older man cowered away, until the redhead turned her attention to her. "And you are grounded for doing something so dangerous without any help or telling anyone."

The younger sister pouted, and Natasha had to put her best face on so she didn't give in.

"That's not fair."

"Life's not fair, kid. Now sit down and get buckled, we're almost there."
