Return of the Vampire King
Alucard opens his eyes to see a disgusting old man wearing sunglasses, a tank top and cargo pant standing in front of him. Alucard unamused by his presence stands up from his chair and says to the man, "What are you?".
The old man walks up to him with full confidence in himself. He lowers his sunglasses with a glint in his eye. "Is it not obvious, Nosferatu? I am your gun that you carry around, the Spirit of the Jackal-Willis".
Alucard immediately opens fire upon the old man, unloading rounds of bullets at him. The man even though looking old and fat proves his agility as he runs away flailing his arms around. Snot comes out of his nose and sweat drips from his rolls of fat.
"S stop! Stop! Stop it please!" The old man begs while still running around.
Alucard not being able to hit him pulls his gun back. "Tch, what is this place? Im out of here," He turns to leave but is stopped by the voice of the old man.
"Hehehe, there is no escape-Willis,". The old man looks at him smirking. "In this realm I rule supreme over all-Willis,".
Alucard ignoring the old man shoots aimlessly all over the place cracking the barrier surrounding them.
"NOOOOOOOO! Stop that!-Willis,". The old man says while reaching out to him.
The surrounding walls begin to crumble leaving Alucard in darkness. He opens his eyes again this time in his room. He pulls out his black gun, the Jackal. He can feel the Jackal being annoyed with him. He rolls his eyes and stands up hiding the gun in his cloak. Leaving his room he walks up a flight of stairs revealing the location of his bedroom, the basement. He enters the living room to see no-one around. He walks around but there is no trace of anyone around. He walks over to the dining room table to see a note there. He picks it up and reads it.
Dear Master,
I've gone out with Raynare to show her the ropes,
We'll be gone for a while. Don't worry about school, we
Received a call saying school will be out for a while. Apparently
An arrange marriage or something along those lines is happening.
Stay out of trouble until I get back, :)
Alucard burns the letter uncaringly and walks out of his house. He stops almost immediately. He closes his eyes and opens them slowly. He feels something dangerous walking towards him. Something that many have forgotten. Something that even the gods themselves feared. Death was approaching him. Alucard turns his gaze to his right. And there she stood. A woman whose face was nothing but a skull, she wore a dark purple cloak and began walking towards him. Alucard made no sudden movements as Death passed by him.
"One of my Acolytes is on the move," is all she said as she passed him.
Alucard turns to face her but she's already gone. He doesn't bother to try and find her, already knowing how pointless it would be to try to find Death.
"How pointless," is all he says walking away from his home.
"What's pointless?" Asked a person from behind him.
Alucard turns around again and sees another woman, this time the woman has dark brown hair and a brown suit.
"Ate," he greets.
"Hello there Alucard," the woman now known as the greek goddess Ate. Ate was the goddess of mischief and ruin. Unfortunately for her, her very mischief caused her to have a falling out with Zeus who banished her from the heavens. While she had her eternal youth, Zeus took away her divinity making her no more than a witch to plague mankind with ruin and misfortune forever.
"Leave me," Alucard says while continuing his stroll.
Ate does not listen to him and follows after him. They walk in silence for a while until Ate sees a man proposing. She waves her fingers towards the man and suddenly an acorn falls and hits the ring out of his hand. The ring falls in to the sewers.
Ate snickers and Alucard smirks, though only a small one. They continue their walk until finally they reach the park. They both enter with Ate still messing around with people. Finally they reach a clearing with very few people.
Alucard turns to her. "What do you want?"
Ate gives a devious smile, "oh you know a little bit of this, a little bit of that." She answers, not giving any straight answers.
"Hm? It wouldn't have anything to do with restoring your godhood, now would it?"
Ate still smiling replies, "Maybe but then again maybe not".
Alucard still smiling moves his head to the left, dodging a blast aimed for his head. He looks at the impact the spell made and sees the deep small hole the spell made. He turns his around smirking at his assassin.
"Sorry Alucard, but I was promised my godhood back if I lured you out here, alone" Ate explains while jumping away from him.
Alucard only smiles at her explanation and raises his right arm up. He snaps his fingers and suddenly a barrier is constructed around them. "No one, not a single one of you. Will be allowed to escape," He grins and with his right hand he pulls out his Jackal. With the other hand he pulls out another gun, this time a silver one, the Casull. He aims both in different directions and begins firing away. Screams could be heard as the bullets hit their mark.
As Alucard is shooting, another magic barrier is casted, this time the magic barrier is summoning an army of foot soldiers. Upon closer inspection its revealed to be ghouls. An army of ghouls.
Alucard is not shaken up by this revelation and continues firing away.
Ate watches the scene in front of her in horror. 'This is horrible,' she thinks to herself as she watches Alucard tear through the ghouls. 'This isn't even a competition. He's cutting them to pieces.' A ghouls body falls to her side. She covers her nose in disgust. 'Its a good thing we set the barrier up before Alucard placed his, otherwise we wouldn't have these sacrificial pawns. Not that any of this is my business. I already played my part. I just got to get out of here now.'.
Alucard continues to cut through the army of ghouls until finally a voice commands all of them to stop.
"ENOUGH!," the voice ordered.
Alucard looks up to see a familiar man float down in front of him.
The man wore blue pants and a blue shirt that was covered by plated armor. He carried a spear as a weapon. It was Zufall, one of Dracula's generals during the time of war.
Alucard was unimpressed.
Zufall walked over to him and looked up at him. 'Jesus, he's pretty tall,' thought Zufall as Alucard towered over him. Zufall clears his throat and says, "Greetings fellow vampire," He gives a small bow. Alucard doesn't follow suit.
Zufall ignores this and resumes talking. "I am a general in Dracula's war council."
Alucard smirks. "Isn't he dead?"
Zufall nods his in confirmation not at all minding his lord being made a mockery of. "Yes, he did die. However there are ways to revive him."
Alucard grins to himself. "Revive him?"
Zufall nods his head, 'He's taken an interest, good,' he thinks to himself. "Yes, we plan to resurrect our lord and rekindle the flames of war."
At this point Alucard is no longer amused by this. To a man like him, death was a close friend. For someone to try to resurrect him, it means they do not intend to let Alucard rest peacefully for eternity. He would not have this. He could not have this. Alucard above all else, wanted to die and remain dead.
With a great rage he grabbed Zufall by the throat and lifted him up into the air. He began squeezing tightly choking the life out of Zufall.
Zufall was hitting Alucard's arms trying to pry them off but to no avail. 'He's, he's so strong!' Thought Zufall. He looks down and sees Alucard's crimson eyes. The eyes of death itself. The eyes of the long lost Nosferatu. The eyes of Dracula. 'It can't be!' Is his last thought as he falls unconscious.
While Alucard is distracted his arm gets shot off and he's kicked away by an unknown assailant.
Alucard picks himself up to see a blond haired white suit wearing man spinning an arrow in one hand and a bow in the other.
"What a mess you made of the place," The blond haired man says while walking over to Zufall. "Cant believe you nearly got yourself killed back there." He looks over to Alucard. "I should've let you die back there, but unfortunately we still need you for a while." He lifts Zufall over his shoulder. A magic circle appears below him. "So long vampire!" He says waving his hand cheerily.
Alucard rushes forward. "Don't think I'll let you escape!" Alucard points his gun at the pair and unloads rounds at them, however another figure makes his presence known as he jumps in the line of fire and blocks the bullets with a shield.
Alucard stops in his tracks observing the new figure not knowing either of the men in front of him. The man wore a Corinthian helmet that covered his eyes in darkness and yet a red glow could be seen. The man wore no armor for his chest revealing his impressive figure. Alucard felt the air around them, it wasn't that of vampires, it was godly.
The blond haired man looks to the newcomer. "I didn't need you meddling brother, those bullets can't harm me,"
The newcomer glares at Alucard, "Your wrong, had those bullets hit you, you would've lost both of your legs right now." The man says putting himself in front of his brother and summoning a spear into his right hand. He gets into a stance, raising the shield in front of him.
"Come on we don't have time for this, Varney's ready to capture the three women already." The blond haired man says.
The newcomer glances back to his brother, however his instincts immediately flare up. He moves his head slightly to the right, dodging the bullet but not enough as the bullet scrapes hard against his helmet. The newcomer sweats a bit. He realizes had he been even a fraction of a second late the bullet would've entered straight through his eye.
The magic circle glows brightly and as quickly as they arrived, they left.
Alucard looks around to see the ghouls left behind begin to combust into flames. His magic circle is also broken.
Over a good few hundred feet away Ate can be seen running away in full speed. 'Dammit! Those bastards! Had I known they weren't going to finish the job I never would have sold him out!' Ate thought to herself while running into a public place with numerous people.
She begins to calm herself down and catch her breath, believing she is safe. She begins to blend into the crowd hiding from any prying eyes that may be searching for her.
'Lucky bastards, Zeus taking away my divinity not only stripped me of my godhood but my magical prowesses.' She looks to her hand. 'I can't even form a magic circle on my own. How pathetic'.
Without her noticing a hand appears behind her and gently grasps the back of her neck. She tightens up and tries to look back but is stopped by a voice.
"Don't turn around," Alucard says. "Keep looking forward and put your arm around my waist."
Ate follows his instructions and begins sweating profusely. 'He's going to kill me!' She thought to herself.
As if sensing her thoughts Alucard reassures her, "don't worry, I'm not going to kill you… I have other uses for you." He leads her to an empty bench and they both take a seat. "You're going to tell me everything I want to know, do you understand?"
Ate nods her head slowly.
Alucard grins, "good" he removes his hand from her neck letting her sigh in relief.
"Thank you," she says while rubbing the back of her neck.
"Who were those men?" Alucard asked.
Ate looked at Alucard with a surprised expression. "You don't know them?"
Alucard looking straight ahead responds, "they were deities, but I don't know which ones."
Ate then clarified which gods they were, "They were my brothers. The blond arrogant one was Apollo, the god of light. The other man was Ares, the god of war."
Alucard took a look at her, "then they come from greek mythology."
"Yes," she confirms.
"And what are they doing, allying themselves with a vampire who intends to resurrect Dracula?"
"DRACULA!" Ate shouts out in surprisement. She looks around remembering where she's at currently and gives a sheepish look as the people passing by give her puzzled looks.
Alucard pulls her down trying to keep a low profile. "Keep your voice down,"
"Sorry, but why didn't you put up a barrier?"
"Those people got a taste of my barrier now, if they are still nearby they will be able to detect it. So until I know their full goal, I have no intention of putting a target on my back." Alucard leans back and crosses his arms. 'I don't know what their resurrection method will be, but no matter what it is it won't work since I'm still alive. However its not like I can just leave them alone either. Once they realize it didn't work I'm sure they'll try other methods and soon they'll begin questioning why their lord hast return.' He thinks back to the two gods conversation. He remembers them mentioning a name. 'Who is this Varney? I don't remember him from back then, or any time period to be exact. Who else is he working worth? Only a few people know I'm alive, so it at the very least rules them out with their involvement.' He gazes at Ate. 'I doubt she knows anything since she wasn't aware of the vampires goal in the first place.' Alucard sighs to himself and asks Ate some more questions. "Do you know who this Varney is?"
"Not really to be honest, all I know is that these vampires are gathering a large amount of forces here. I didn't know why until just now. Ares and Apollo were supposed to put in a good word in for me to our father Zeus, but I guess that won't be happening." She finishes with a pout.
"What is Zeus's part in this?"
"From what I understood Zeus isn't aware of what's currently taking place. Otherwise I think he would've stopped this by now,"
"And what do your brothers hope to gain from all this?"
"Hmm if I had to guess Ares is probably just trying to get stronger, you see the more conflict there is the stronger he becomes." Ate explains.
"And what of Apollo? What does he hope to gain from this?"
Ate think hard but can come up with no conclusions. "I'm not sure, I'm actually surprised to see them working together. Half blood gods and full blood gods tend to hate each other up there in Olympus." She explained.
Alucard nods his head and stands up as does Ate.
"Sooooo I did good? Im free to go now?" She asked pushing her luck.
Alucard smiles and answers, "yes, you are free to leave and go spy on your brothers for me." He begins walking away not allowing for Ate to voice her complaints.
"Goddammit!" She shouts. The people passing by look at her with judgmental looks. "Oh screw you, like your lives are so perfect." She spits on the floor showing her distaste towards humanity.
Back with Alucard he enters an alleyway and leans back onto the wall. 'Even if I were to die these bastards will just resurrect me.' He closes his eyes and leans his head back. 'I need to kill all of them in one fell swoop, otherwise they'll just restart the whole thing all over again.' He thinks to himself while disappearing into the shadows.
Over at the Occult club Issei can be seen standing between Rias Gremory and Riser Phoenix, the rest of the peerage were standing to the side already knowing their place. Issei glares at the man in front of him. 'This bastard, I can tell he's a shithead just from his presence alone.'
"Issei stand down!" Ordered RIas who walked passed him and stood in front of him, as if protecting him.
"Bu-bucho?" Issei looked at her master with a confused gaze, but then that gaze quickly turned to anger. Not at Rias but to himself. That small insignificant act was more than enough to tell him the truth. He was still weak. It had only been a day since Asias death. It's not as though he could've gotten stronger within such a small timeframe.
"What do you want Riser?" Rias asked glaring at the man before her.
Riser still smirking walks forward. "I bring news that I'm sure you'll enjoy," he says with a knowing smile. "Our wedding has been moved up!" He says cheerily.
Everyone in the room with the exception of Riser and his peerage widen their eyes at this piece of news.
"That's impossible! I still have a few more years left!" Rias argues.
"Yes you did, until you didn't". He says smirking.
"I-i don't understand…"
"Aw poor Rias, I suppose most of God's work went to your boobs and not your brain right?"
Issei glares harder at the man now and walks forward but is held back by Koneko. She looks up at him and shakes her head. Issei grits his teeth in frustration.
Riser walks up to Rias and lifts up her chin forcing her to face him. "You belong to me now," he says while capturing her lips with his effectively stealing her first kiss. At first Rias is too shock to move but when the realization hits her she begins trying to shove Riser off however he's just far stronger than her.
Rias's peerage can not stand for this and move to separate them however Riser's own peerage stand before them blocking their path. A fight breaks out as Rias's peerage try to rescue their master.
Riser smirks and laughs at their determination. He spins Rias around so that she's facing her peerage and begins to molest her in front of them as she whimpers. Tears fall from her eyes making her peerage even angrier than before.
Rias is saved as Grayfia enters the room and with blinding speed hits Riser off of Rias. His peerage come to his aid but they are all quickly knocked out. Grayfia returns to Rias and holds her close to her. Her peerage members also begin to check up on her with Akeno giving her master a sympathy look. Issei felt pathetic, they all did. When their master needed them most, they couldn't do a single thing to help her. Their attention is brought over to Riser who's face has begun regenerating from Grayfia's hit.
"Hahahahahaha. Had I been anyone else, that blow could have killed me." Riser says standing up with his wounds all healed. "Grayfia, that thing belongs to me now."
Grayfia glares at Riser. "She's not yours yet, Riser. You will do well to remember that."
Riser feeling her killing intent decides to back down. "Very well, she's all yours for now." Riser walks past his unconscious peerage and makes his was towards Issei. He looks him up and down and says, "so, this is the so called little dragon. I am unimpressed." He gives him a taunting smile.
Issei glares heatedly at the man before him and cocks his fist back. He throws a fist at Riser however Riser simply kicks him away. Issei gasps for air and tries to get back up but is held down by Riser's foot. Issei tries hitting him off but to no avail.
"It would seem that the quality of the dragons has fallen over the years."
"Enough Riser, I won't say it again," Grayfia warns.
Riser still stepping over Issei looks back to her with a puzzled expression. "Come now Grayfia you know all about what's been going on these last couple of days."
Rias and her peerage look at Riser with confused expressions.
Riser seeing this begins laughing. "Oh come on now surely you jest?" Their unresponsive attitudes confirms his suspicious. "You really don't know about what's been going on in Japan? Specifically your territory?" They still don't answer. "Come now Rias you so desperately wanted independence but the moment you're given territory to govern the whole area turns to shit," Riser says finally letting go of Issei who is now able to catch his breath.
Rias looks too Grayfia for confirmation. Grayfia averts her eyes. Rias's eyes widen in shock, 'what's going on?' Rias asks herself.
Riser stands before the group, "aren't you even a little curious why the wedding has been moved up? It's because of what's been going on. Vampires have begun invading Japan, all our contracts in the area are suddenly disappearing. The Yokai are in full alert and are ready for war. Scouts have gone missing and the ones that came back reported sightings of fallen angels."
"Fallen Angels? We've dealt with them already," Rias suddenly remembers Raynare. 'Don't tell me, she's-'
"Apparently you haven't dealt with them since they have begun going on a full on killing spree. Large amounts of both humans and the supernatural entities have been reported missing. Something is going on and your caught up right in the middle of it all, to ask matters worst you're also ignorant of the whole thing as well."
"But why did the wedding get pushed up?!"
"Because they are afraid that something is coming, something so grand that it's got Hell in full lockdown as well. The Grigori and us devils are ready for a full scale war, all it would take is literary one small push for the war to begin. And if the war does start we could be looking at a second great war on our hands."
"That means in case the war does start, they want me to be pregnant with a child so that our clans may endure in case either of us should die." Rias says with realization of the severity of the situation at hand.
"It's worse than that,"
Everyone shifts there gazes to Grayfia who has now begun to speak.
"If the war does start, I'm afraid the war won't stop until only one side remains. Last time the three factions united to stop the heavenly dragons. But I'm afraid there hasn't been a major threat in a long time."
There is silence in the room as the news hits all of them pretty hard. Almost everyone in the room was young, they had seen battle but not a full scale war before. They were children who would be force to participate in such a gruesome war that would not end until everyone was dead.
Riser breaks the tension. "Now do you see Rias, its time to stop being so selfish and fulfill your duty. We are to be wed immediately." He says while moving to grab her arm.
He's stopped as someone hold's his arm back. He looks back to see Issei grasping his arm tightly. "Don't…don't you dare touch her!" Issei yells with his eyes glowing green.
Riser gives him a curious look and decides to test the waters a bit. "Did you not just hear what I just said? War is upon us there's no time for this rebellious faze."
"This isn't some rebellious faze…bucho isn't some object to be sold off like a piece of meat. She has hopes, dreams and ambitions to carry out. Who cares about this war, it has nothing to do with us." Issei grits out.
"Thats easy for a newcomer like yourself to say. You don't know anything about our customs, our beliefs, and our ways-"
"None of that matters!" Issei shouts out.
"Issei" Rias murmurs concerned for her junior.
"And what of the upcoming war? How do you intend to deal with that? There will be a lot of powerful beings there." Riser asks.
"None of them matter, because…" he thinks back to Asia's dead body and how he failed to protect her. "Because I will protect bucho! I will protect her hopes, her dreams and her ambitions!".
Rias looks at her pawn with teary eyes, "Issei,"
Riser glares at the man in front go him and unleashes his wings revealing them to be on fire. "You are no match for me, much less for any of the leaders of the underworld."
"I DON'T CARE! I'LL KICK THEIR ASSES AFTER I KICK YOURS!"
Everyone in the room looks to him in shock. Such a powerful declaration. Had he said that in front of the leaders, they would be well within their rights to kill him on the spot. Such a ridiculous declaration… and yet such is the way of the dragon.
"Such fiery determination, but that will only get you so far."
"If I can kick your ass that then that should prove that I'm capable of protecting bucho."
"Hahahaha that's funny little dragon, but seriously you cant really expect to win against me."
"Why not? Is the little fire chicken to afraid to accept my challenge."
Riser smirks at his little taunt, "your words to provoke me are wasted, however it has been a while since I've stretched my wings." He puts his wings away and walks away. "Should I lose the match then I'll personally call off the wedding, giving your precious bucho her little freedom. However should I win, I'll not only have Rias and her peerage but also Grayfia as well!" He says smiling confidently.
Rias widens her eyes, "NO-"
"Deal" Grayfia says agreeing to his deal.
"What!" Rias exclaims.
"Hahahahaha this'll be the easiest win ever, However we are in a rush so our little duel will begin tonight as well our wedding. Rias, my servants will begin dressing you up immediately for our wedding. Your servant here will be tonights entertainment."
"Tonight! He needs time to train!" Rias argued.
"Unfortunately time is a luxury we don't have my sweet. It's this or nothing Rias."
Rias doesn't answer but glares at Riser.
Riser takes her silence as acceptance and smirks. "If that is all, I'll be leaving now. Prepare yourself little dragon, for tonight I'll show you the difference between a man with power versus a man without it." With that he opens a magic circle teleporting him and his unconscious peerage members away.
Rias runs over to Issei and hugs him close. "Issei you big dumb idiot!" She cries into his chest.
Issei hugs her close and smiles. "Don't worry, I promise I'll protect you." He looks to his peerage members, "all of you,".
Akeno, Kiba, and Koneko all look at him with a smile and join in on the hugging. Grayfia herself smiles at the scenery and takes her leave.
"I'll need to report this to Sirzechs, I'll be back later to transport Issei to the arena." Grayfia says.
"Wait!" Issei shouts. "Why did you agree to it? Why are you willing to give up your freedom, even though I haven't shown any real power? You have no reason to believe I'll win."
Grayfia only gives him a wink. "Because I already belong to another, and that man does not share what belongs to him." She says while tugging on the choker she has on around her neck. With those final words she leaves.
Issei looks at her in confusion but shakes it off. 'I can't worry about that now, everyone's depending on me to win this match.' He looks to Rias's face and sees her smile. 'I'll defeat God himself if it means protecting that smile.' He thinks back to Asia. 'I'll get it all back, those happy moments.'
"Alright guys, we have a few hours until the match starts, so I'll be counting on you to teach him everything there is about the Phoenix clan." As Rias finishes her sentence another portal opens revealing maids. They bow their heads and step to the side. "This is where I leave you," she walks over to the portal but before she leaves she faces Issei one last time. "Issei, please be careful."
"I will," He says with determination.
Rias gives him a solemn smile and teleports away leaving Issei to the capable hands of her peerage members.
Over in an abandoned monastery Serafall Leviathan can be seen sitting on a chair whistling a familiar tune. The very same tune Alucard sang while leaving the area where Issei died. After a few minutes Penemue enters the room.
"Greetings Serafall Leviathan," Penemue greets making her way over to her.
Serafall stands up and greets her as well. "Penemue, it's been too long," they both shake each others hands. They both then take a glance at the empty seat.
"Do you believe she'll come?" Penemue asks.
"She better, if peace is to come we'll need everyone for it."
The doors open once again and in comes Gabriel. She walks with such grace that it appears as if she's floating. Her beauty shines ever so brightly and her presence is ever so soothing.
Serafall and Penemue smile at the presence of Gabriel.
Gabrieln stops before the two of them. "Serafall, Penemue. It's good to see the two of you." She says with a smile.
Serafall's smile turns to a frown. She notices the black cloth covering her eyes. Concern she reaches out and holds Gabriel's shoulder. "Your eyes, are they-"
Gabriel shakes her head, "no, don't worry. My eyes are perfectly fine. It's just.." She doesn't finish her train of thought.
Serafall nods her head in understanding snd takes her seat, they all do. Serafall begins, "Alright then, we've gathered here today for one thing and one thing only. Peace,"
The other two women nod their heads in agreement.
"We need to discuss the terms, and where exactly will be the final location where everyone will meet to sign the papers."
Gabriel steps in, "for the location, I was thinking of having it here in Japan."
"Japan?" Questioned Penemue.
"Yes, it's currently the neutral territory between us three factions."
"We've been receiving a lot of strange reports indicating that a fourth party has entered the fray in Japan, vampires to be exact." Serafall adds.
"We've also been receiving similar reports. One of ours has also defected, Kokabiel." Penemue says explaining the Grigori's situation.
"Kokabiel?" Gabriel said with a puzzled look. "I thought he was reformed?"
Penemue closes her eyes and shakes her head. "After your supposed death he was left with a great rage. We tried to calm him down, however his anger never did swell down. If anything it grew. And now, we believe he intends to drag all three factions back into war."
"Why does Kokabiel care whether or not Gabriel lived or not?" Serafall asked.
"It's my fault. You see before he became a fallen angel, during the time of peace when he was still an angel, he fell in love with me. And I…I gave him false hope that I would love him in return. Thats not to say I didn't love him, its just that… my love for him was that that of an older sibling." Gabriel explained. "I tried to tell him but he wouldn't listen. And after the discovery of my affair with Dra-… with the late vampire king he stopped talking to me. I assumed he stopped lusting after me, but apparently not."
Serafall smirks, "So it's true? My rival did have a little naughty side to her." She says with a teasing smirk.
Gabriel blushes but only a little.
Penemue coughs into her hand. "If we could bring back the focus of the table please."
Serafall pouts and Gabriel nods in gratification.
"We don't know what Kokabiel has in store for us but if we can sign the treaty before he makes his move, peace between the three factions can be assured." Penemue explains.
"Where was his last sighting?" Gabriel asks.
"Japan," Penemue answers.
"Vampires and now Kokabiel, this can't be a coincidence." Serafall says while holding her chin with her right hand.
"You think they are cooperating with one another?"
"I can't be sure, but with a large amount of vampires suddenly entering the area. Makes one wonder what they want."
"After the Great War the vampires lost their king, their territory and all the prestige they once had. Their lands divided amongst the victors and their forces scattered to the winds. I imagine they would love a round 2." Penemue says.
"Maybe, but vampires always follow other vampires. Meaning Kokabiel isn't the one leading them,"
"And if Dracula is dead,"
"Then whose leading them?"
Silence fills the air until suddenly out of the shadows a figure makes his presence known. It's Varney.
"That would be me, ladies," he says while walking towards them.
The three woman immediately get into fighting stance.
"Whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa, easy there. Im not here to harm you or anything."
"Then what are you here for?" Questioned Serafall while preparing to fire an ice blast at their intruder.
The intruder thinks for a moment and then answers, "Well actually I've come to kidnap all three of you," he answers truthfully.
"Why?" Gabriel asks.
"To reawaken the sleeping vampire king. Vlad Dracula Tepes." Varney says, smiling while revealing his pointy vampire teeth.
Gabriel's eyes widen at his words and hesitates, all three of them do in fact. To Serafall, Dracula was a legend, a boogeyman in other words. But to Penemue and Gabriel, they knew all to well of his ferocity, his power, and his anger.
From their sides two more figures make their presence known, It's both Ares and Apollo. Ares hits Serafall away while Apollo shoots his arrows at Penemue. Gabriel tries to lend them support but is stopped as Varney grabs her by the head and slams her down.
"Ah ah ah, I won't let you have your way with my associates." Varney says while leaning into her neck, "Not even Dracula sucked on your blood, right? Which means I'll be taking your first." He opens his mouth about to latch on to her, however he's thrown off as Gabriel unleashes her wings. Varney manages to catch himself and looks up to see Gabriel flying above him.
"Hahahahaha, such anger and hatred in your face. If I didn't know any better I'd say yo-" he's cut off as a holy spear brushes past his face cutting his cheek. He starts to sweat. 'That, that nearly killed me' he thinks to himself while turning to see the damaged done to the wall behind him. He sees a clean hole that was also currently burning.
"Hm, I'm out of practice," Gabriels says turning Varney's focus back to her. "The next one won't miss." She claims, still glaring at him.
'This won't be as easy as I thought it would.' He thought dryly.
Three hours later
Varney whose currently sitting down spits out blood. He wipes his mouth with his sleeve. 'Jesus, over four hundred years out of practice and she's still as powerful as ever. I was just barely able to beat her like this.' Varney thought to himself. He gets up and looks at the three unconscious women in front of him. To his right there stood Ares patching up his wounds, nearly half of his body was frozen and the other half burnt. To his left Apollo was also cleaning his wounds but also removing arrows from his own body.
"These women,"
Varney looks at Ares who just spoked.
"These women are worthy of being my wives." He says with a smile.
"Yes that's nice, but unfortunately we need to get them set up already. We wasted enough time as it is. Kokabiel will start making his move soon and I need to get these three to the alter already."
"Why the hell are you even going through this much trouble to resurrect your lord and master," Apollo asked. "Cant you just go to hell and grab him that way?"
"Thats not how that works, if it was that easy don't you think it would be easy to resurrect your lover." Varney says clearly annoyed by his associates.
Apollo glares at Varney. "Both your lover and Dracula have been dead for too long. Their souls attached to their respective realms. If I want to bring back someone whose been dead for a long time I have to be able to offer a trade. Souls for a soul." He explains.
Apollo accepts the answer and goes back to his cleaning wounds.
Varney opens a magic circle and says, "the two of you should head back, when I'm ready for stage two, I'll call you." And with that he leaves bringing with him the three women.
Ares looks to his younger brother. "So, do you think he can actually bring back Dracula?"
"I don't care about any of that, I just want to see her again." Apollo says with a sorrowful expression.
Ares gives him a bored look and stands up. "Whatever, you're just like our father. Falling in love with a human girl. How pathetic." With that Ares also leaves.
Apollo doesn't pay him any attention and plays with the wreath on his head, "Wait for me, my love."
Raynare is flung back and crashes into some trees. She tries to get back up but is slammed back down to the ground. Looking up she sees Seras holding her down. "I-I give," she surrenders.
Seras gets off of her and helps her up. "You didn't do too bad, but you still haven't awaken much of your vampire abilities."
"I know, how do I get them faster?" Raynare asks while dusting herself.
"Mostly through feedings, but you can recover your strength by sleeping in a coffin filled with the dirt of your birthplace."
"Dirt?" She says not at all liking the idea of getting dirty like that.
"I know, I too didn't like it. Though mostly because I have a fear of tight and dark places." She said with a traumatic expression.
Raynare looked at her with a pity expression. 'She's had it rough,' thought Raynare to herself. She walks forward patting her back. "How did you become so strong?" She asked trying to change the subject for her friend.
"Hm? Oh I suppose through feedings really, but being a servant to Alucard has its perks. He contains a lot of knowledge and knows things that most people have forgotten. When we return I'll show you our private library. There you'll find knowledge on all sorts of things." She starts walking away with Raynare following after her. "Within the library you'll find books that can teach you how to use different types of magic. Of course some magic can only be used genetically, meaning some magic is passed down through their descendants."
"Yes, like the Gremory clan and their destruction magic." Raynare said remembering the time Rias used her destruction magic to kill her.
"Exactly like that. Of course there's more than one spell that can cause mass destruction. There's a spell that I just learned called Demonic Megiddo. It's an explosion type magic that uses as much magic you're able to give and cause an explosion destroying everything around you."
Raynare's eyes widen, "amazing" she said in awe.
"Yeah it does sound pretty amazing, although I've only used it once and it left me drained of all my magic. It also didn't cause too big of an explosion like a I was expecting. Alucard told me it was because I had little magic available."
"I see,"
An explosion happens behind them startling the both of them. They turn to see what caused it, a man with white silver hair and blue eyes steps forward out of the smoke.
Raynare widens his eyes at the man before her. "It's-it's"
Seras looks at Raynare with a confused expression. "You know him?"
"Raynare, I have some questions for you," the man says while walking towards them with both hands in his pockets.
"Its the current white dragon emperor, Vali from the Grigori faction." Raynare explained with sweat on her brow.
Seras stands in front of Raynare and she reveals her right arms vampiric form. A large red claw like appendage. "Raynare, if what you say is true I alone may not be enough to take down the white dragon emperor."
Raynare nods her head, "I'll support you," Raynare unleashes her wings and prepares twilight healing on one hand and a holy spear on the other.
Vali looks at the pair in front of him, "so, you betrayed Azazel and joined the vampires. No matter, you're going to tell me everything I need to know." With those words Seras rushes forward and moves to crush him, but Vali's reflexes prove to be formidable as he activates his sacred gear, Divine Dividing, and flies away. He then charges a demonic blast and unleashes it at the pair.
Both women dodge the blast with Seras realizing something.
'That was demonic magic, and not just your run of the mill devil magic. But true pure magic.' She squints her eyes at Vali, 'Is he a devil by any chance?' Seras is brought out of her analyzing as Vali swoops in and kicks her on the shoulder. Seras is flung away but she doesn't loose her balance.
"Your not half bad, for a vampire." Vali rushes forward and grabs Seras. "Divide".
Seras falls to her knee. She can feel her power being halved.
Raynare seeing this throws spears at Vali however his defensive demonic power is too powerful for her magic to pierce.
Vali turns his head towards Raynare. "Just wait for your turn. I'll deal with you in a moment." He's suddenly grabbed by Seras's vampiric arm and is choked. Vali glares at Seras but before he can do anything he collapses to his knees as well. He looks into Seras's crimson eyes.
"Your not the only one who can absorb power from their opponents." Seras explains.
Vali coughs up blood and roars out "BALANCE BREAKER!" An explosion takes place causing Seras to fly back. Raynare catches her.
"Are you alright?" Questioned Raynare.
"Yeah, for now any way" She points to where Vali stood.
Finally the dust clears revealing a white armored Vali there with blue glowing wings. "I have to admit, your not half bad. Little Draculina." He walks forward to the pair. "Playtimes over, time to get real." He launches himself forward and with his fist cocked back aims to hit her face.
Seras ducks and with her right arm grabs the dragon emperor, crushing his armor.
Vali grits his teeth and kicks her across the face. He then grabs her by the ankles and lifts her into the sky. "DIVIDE DIVIDE DIVIDE DIVIDE DIVIDE DIVIDE DIVIDE DIVIDE DIVIDE" More of her power is drained.
Seras with her left hand points it to his heart, blood comes out of his mouth, eyes and ears and enters her palm. This technique was something exclusive to vampires or those who practiced in necromancy. Soul Steal. This technique quite literally steals the soul of her opponent as it slowly drains them of their life force and feeds the user power.
Vali lets her go allowing her to fall back to the floor. He touches his chest, right where his heart would be. 'That technique, its similar to my divine dividing, but it doesn't need to be touching someone. How troublesome.' Vali smiles. 'I might be able to have some fun with this person.'
Both fighters make eye contact with neither one willing to back down. And with an explosion both fighters charge each other with their fist cocked back.
Raynare looks at the scene in front of her in horror. She knew that if she tried to help Seras she would only just get in the way. But she couldn't just let Seras die for her. She has to stop this fight so she jumped in between the two and raised her hands out trying to stop the two of them. "WAIT!"
Vali grits his teeth and stops short. "What? Didn't I say to wait your turn,"
'Seras had more than half of her power drained and from the looks of her she looks like she can last maybe another three minutes.' Raynare begins healing Seras in front of Vali.
Both Vali and Seras widen their eyes at this.
"What are you doing?" Questioned Vali confused by her actions.
"Theres no reason for us to be fighting," Raynare tries to reason with the battle hungry dragon.
"So you'll give yourself up willingly?" Vali asked.
"No, I serve a new master now and can't leave him without his permission. But that doesn't mean I can't answer your questions right here and now."
"Fine then," Vali undoes his balance breaker. "Start talking,"
"What do you want to know?"
"Where is the location of Kokabiel?"
"I'm not sure but if I were to be looking for him I'd check the abandon churches. Fallen Angels tend to stay close to churches that have been abandon by catholics and christians."
"Hmm, do you know what he might be up too?"
"No but the last I heard of him he seemed to be preparing for something big."
"Big?"
"Yeah, he was recruiting a lot of people. Mostly vampires."
"Did he say anything else?"
"Not really, he did give me orders though to kill anyone with the potential of a sacred gear user."
"Hm not very helpful, but at least I know he doesn't have any intention on leaving Japan yet."
"How do you figure?" Questioned Seras.
"The man is accumulating a very large force, and he's trying to get rid of sacred gear users in Japan. It means whatever plan he's got cooked up. It's going down in Japan." Vali explains while turning his back to them and walking away from them.
"That's it? You're not going to try and kill me?" Raynare asked dumbly.
Vali shrugged his shoulders, "All I wanted was to ask you some questions. Your the ones who assumed the worst and threatened me."
The two girls give each other sheepish looks.
"Besides, I'm under strict orders not to cause mayhem here. Although, it looks like chaos will soon erupt here, whether they want it or not." And with that he flies away leaving the two girls alone.
"Come on, he's right. As vampires we use chaos magic so we're able to sense it pretty well and right now, chaos surrounds us. We best get home before anyone else turns up."
Raynare nods her head following Seras, neither one of them aware of the probing eyes watching them leave the area.
A/N: Alright another chapter down for the count. Let me know if you guys enjoyed it or not, please don't hesitate to review I read them and learn from them. And yes I did know that there was a plot hole in the resurrection of Dracula I'm glad someone noticed that. That'll be brought up again later in probably like a chapter or two or something. But without further ado I'll see you all later.
P.S to answer a question posted about Walter's age. He's currently in his early thirties, still in his prime.
