![]() Author has written 4 stories for Percy Jackson and the Olympians, and Star Wars. We are the authors Owlion12, composed of two fantabulous ladies, Hermie and Thennie. Our lives revolve around Percy Jackson, Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter, Sherlock, Hetalia, performing, the arts and writing for fun! It takes two to abandon all reality and make crazy stuff happen, and that's exactly what we do! :3 Please note that Hermie is the one doing all the computer work! All PM's, reviews, questions and I've realized I have not updated our little profile in a while... well, since the summer, it appears! It is now 2016, and Thennie and I took a break from writing for school purposes, but also so I could spend time working on a huge project that became Thennie's Christmas present! The two of us are in our final year of high school and I personally have found this year to be very rewarding and challenging, so time was needed to focus on keeping my grades up, especially in Chemistry, so I could get accepted into a local university. And guess what? I did! Our social lives aside, we still plan to update our stories! Olympian Sniffles has recieved a lot of attention, and I was surprised one morning to check my inbox and find someone had given us the follow and fav treatment just a few days ago! I am planning to update it shortly, and as a heartfelt, Canadian apology, I will be updating five chapters at once, one of which is finished, one almost there and a third already started! You'll have to wait and see what we cover, and I need to reread all of Olympus Got Talent! to figure out where we left off... Personally, I am considering making a change to our first fanfiction, 14 Gods Around the World. While we don't know how many people went on to read Olympus Got Talent!, we know for sure that 14 Gods has recieved the most attention as not being a sequel. Which is why I propose writing a set of alternate ending chapters for 14 Gods to wrap it up for anyone who does not wish to keep on reading. But, as of now, it's still up in the air, and I haven't much of a clue how to end it. Thanks a ton for reading and keep supporting us! Hermie (The Little Canadian of Hermes) OGT Nation Count! As of Chapter 6, Olympus Got Talent! has had views in: US, Canada, Hong Kong, UK, India, Iceland, Belgium, France, Singapore, Malaysia, Pakistan, China, Finland, Venezuela, Indonesia, Australia, Sweden and Japan! Being a child of Hermes and all, this whole around the world thing is pretty cool! Keep it up guys, so these two Canadians can be connected to awesome places! Mythologically Speaking (Mythology Policy) By: Hermie Hullo Owlion12 Fans! Hermie here with a new post leading into our newest story, Olympus Got Talent!, the sequel to our first fanfic, 14 Gods around the World. Before we dive into publishing, there are a few things about the mythological content we'd like to get off our chests. Since most of the jokes and gags pulled in some of the content are based on the backstories of the Olympians, (A very good example is Hera's letter to Dionysus in 14 Gods) we think that covering some things is a good idea, especially with the release of Rick Riordan's fabulous Percy Jackson's Greek Gods. In our opinion, the book isn't canon, and acts rather as a side to the Percy Jackson and the Olympians series, like Demigod Files and Demigod Diaries. So, the mythology from the book doesn't necessarily have to be included in our own stories, though there was some interesting... Hankerchief moments that were new to us. In other words, we are going to use the Mythology that we: Heard First Like best Missing/wasn't included in PJGG Think best fits the moment and/or joke Please note that most of the time, we will be sticking to Rick's original content, but if we feel there's something extra to change/add... well... check out some examples. Heard First In the myth of Zeus' lust for Io, Zeus turns her into a cow to hide her from Hera, who takes her and has her guarded by Argus. Hermes, ordered by Zeus, goes to save Io by eventually killing Argus. In the version we heard first and wasn't in PJGG was that there was actually a trial held by Hera, where she accussed Hermes of murder, which he won by the majority of stones people threw at him. I love that story about my dad! Like Best Here's some confusion. The order of Kronos and Rhea's, or the orginal six gods, children. The children, Zeus, Poseidon, Hades, Hera, Demeter and Hestia, seem to like having their order of brith switched around. In PJGG, Rick states that all the girls were born first, then the guys, going Hestia, Demeter, Hera, Hades, Poseidon and Zeus. The one we prefer better makes it better for jokes and understanding Kronos' paranioa; Hestia, Hades, Demeter, Poseidon, Hera and Zeus. Then again, as long as Hestia's still the oldest, it's all cool. Missing/wasn't included The example of Heard First also ties in, but there really aren't many examples to put in here. Another example would be the listing of Hera and Zeus' children. Rick mentions three; Ares, Eileithyia and Hebe. In some versions, they had five, the other two being the twin sisters of Ares, Enyo and Eris, who were often called the same goddess. Fits the moment and/or joke Which brings us to this point! In the Antarctica chapter of 14 Gods, Ares has a moment where he yells at Hera about how she doesn't love her children. He mentions Eris and Enyo; one being so hated that she was actually sent to Tartarus and the other so uncontrollable that she was sent away for being too violent. Rick says that Eris is a daughter of Nyx in House of Hades and makes no mention of Enyo until Blood of Olympus, but we felt that Ares needed more emotion and had to make Hera see what she had done by showing her cruelty in more than one way. In our books, both Enyo and Eris are children of the royal pains, but Eris had some stuff happen with Nyx later on that influenced who she told others was her parent. And that's about it for our Mythology Policy! Thanks for reading and for your support, and enjoy our next fanfictions to come! |
