"Come on, you hunk of junk, work for me!" Her head fell to rest against the practically destroyed console when the engine gave a sputter then died. "I can't hack it if it won't turn on!" The water beneath shift suddenly when an explosion of gold erupted from the cyclone' center, her eyes widening when chains wrapped themselves around the now struggling sorcerer. A familiar warmth tickled her senses that whispered for her to try the ignition again, that Atem needed her, and her fingers quickly twisted the key. There was no time to celebrate as the screen before her lit up and she quickly altered the code so that the lone engine that had survived roared to life as she aimed the spear-like beam straight at Bakura's chest. He hadn't caught sight of it until it was too late and the bellow that came at the moment of impact caused whatever was left of the glass windows to shatter and rain down upon her, causing cuts to appear across her skin as she made a dash for the banister. It was time to abandon ship for the last time!

A tentacle caught her as she jumped to dive into the water and screamed as it attempted to crush her to death. "Don't think I'll let you off the hook so easily!" Dark onyx blazed brightly with anger as the tentacle gave her another hearty squeeze. "Give me the scale! I know you have it!"

A cry tore up her throat. "I don't know what you're talking about!" The cry turned into a scream as the tentacle forced her head backward.

"The one on the necklace I stole from you belonged to the blasted prince, you incompetent wench!"

"You stole my necklace?!" Anger flashed brilliantly within her cerulean eyes, momentarily making them as cold as ice then filled with confusion. It had been so small, the trinket upon the chain, that not even the most practiced jeweler could determine its value. It would make sense that none could identify the it so maybe it was true…that the necklace her mother had cherished was in fact the scale of a water dweller. Her breath caught as the sorcerer's words replayed in her ear then was followed by the voice of someone with no face in a long distant memory that she was unaware of having: "Once a scale has been plucked, it can never be returned to its original place….Please do not use my son's scale for the medicine. You saved my life and those of my son's so please allow me to repay that debt by offering up my own scale instead…" Her eyes widened. "What do you mean the scale on the necklace belonged to the prince?"

"Of course you wouldn't know, afterall you are a land dweller, so you were unaware that you had caught the attention of the eldest prince of Atlantis." His lip lifted into a satisfied smirk when her expression balked. He had her attention, for the moment, and that was all he needed to give himself time to slip out of this sticky situation with the ship's beam stuck through his chest. Of course it wasn't going to be enough to kill him, he was the second now single most powerful being in the entire marine world, but even he was struggling to conceal the pain he was in. "My dear, you should feel flattered that someone of nobility took notice and made such sacrifices for a lowly human girl such as yourself. I honestly don't see what you could possibly offer someone of his caliber."

A slender brow twitched. "And what does that say about you, huh? I don't see that precious eel lady anywhere nearby. Weren't you two supposed to be an item? That's truly funny, considering she is blind, so you're the lucky one. The bleached hair and tanned skin covered in scars doesn't really say 'stable' or 'committing', if you catch my drift."

"How dare you-"

"Not only that but you have tentacles." Anzu's lips lifted into her own smirk as he seethed. "I mean, multitasking for any normal female is a given but you have eight appendages. Honestly I feel sorry for her, really I do, seeing what she has to deal with on a regular basis; you use her to spy for you, send her to the front lines to do your bidding, I bet you wouldn't hesitate a second to sacrifice her if it meant you would come out on top. You're supposed to be this all powerful being, the king of sirens for crying out loud, and yet you can't even handle little ole me, a human, and you had to use Atem to get what you wanted instead of you using your almighty resources?"

He harshly bit his lip to keep himself from retorting back. How was this human getting under his skin?! Bakura was skilled in the art of several dark methods, such as torture and magic, but this girl was truly testing his patience! A scream tore from her throat as he gave her the tightest squeeze yet. "Back to the topic at hand. I'm talking about the blessed one that gave you life!" He howled as a few of the chains drove the ship's beam farther into his flesh, in turn causing his hold upon her to tighten to the point where several of her bones cracked. "Give it to me now or I swear I will kill you then rip it from your flesh!"

A snap was heard, causing their attention to shift towards the water where a new whirlpool was forming. The Siren King inhaled sharply as a figure rose from the waves, their height soon matching his own, and found himself staring into crimson embers as the storm returned, even more ferocious than the one Bakura had summoned forth. The now titan-sized Atem looked absolutely furious as he straightened, the fallen triton within his right hand as an orb of swirling energy within his left, the shadow across his features causing dark enough to match his hair that was now more wild than ever. "You won't take anything more from me!" One of the chain's ends transformed into a blade and effectively sliced through the invasive limb. A shriek slipped from between her lips as she was dropped but it was cutoff as the same chain coiled within itself to form a net that enveloped her like a protective cage. "Prepare yourself, Bakura, King of Sirens, you will pay for the sins you have committed!"

"As if you could end me!" Bakura sneered. He had yet to even use half of his power and this little merman though he was a match just because of a little power boost? "You are sorely mistaken!"
