She wanted nothing more than to go assist one or both of the parties currently fighting for the sake of humanity but her role was best played from the shadows. Her eyes widened when a familiar presence rose from the bowels of the earth and peered out of the helicopter window as a being rose from the sea. It has been centuries since she last laid eyes upon the magnificent beast of legend. "Looks like someone managed to get a rise out of him finally."

"What the hell is that?"

Her shoulders rose with an inhale. "MrKaiba, there are few creatures in this world that humans think don't exist that actually do. As you have learned the merfolk are one of the few that do-"

"I do not have time for your riddles, Mai," Seto growled, sapphire flashing with warning. "We have to find Anzu."

A slender blonde brow twitched as he interrupted her. "Trust me, she is perfectly fine where she is without having to worry about you so in this chopper is where you are staying until I say so." She sometimes hated her job. Sucking up to people wasn't her strong suit, honestly she loathed that she had to often bend over backwards for people of higher society, but she had been in service of the Kaiba family for quite a few years now. There were several times where she couldn't believe that thirty long years had passed since the head of the human family had stumbled across her during one of his business breaks. Never had she thought that the man who had saved her from the clutches of a traveling circus would offer her shelter, let alone the perfect hiding place while enrolling her protective skills to protect his family. She didn't remember much from her younger years other than her simply wandering from place to place with the occasional stop here and there for rest but she had recognized Atem the second he has stepped through the mansion's doorframe. Lazuli had passed away when the twins had been younger than her and she hadn't seen either of the boys since before the catastrophe. That wild hair was unmistakeable and those amethyst eyes of his were a dead giveaway. She had chosen to stay quiet though, watching from the sidelines as the merprince grew closer to the human girl in her charge. "The prince is with her and he will not allow anything to happen to her."

Seto's clenched fist rose, debating on meeting the side of the aircraft, then fell back to his lap. Losing his temper was not going to help matters. "That's all the more reason why I want to find her."

Her manicured finger flipped the autopilot switch as she slipped from the seat and loomed over him, her eyes flashing in warning. "You listen here, little snot nosed brat, there is no one else on this damn planet that she would be safest with. You would not last a minute against these beings." She placed a finger against his lips. "Now be a good boy and listen to the words of Mai Valentine, for once in your life, because that being right there is the only thing powerful enough to take the goddess head on."

"What is it?"

"I present to you the mighty Serpent of the Sea who once attempted to swallow the sun," she suppressed a shiver as the giant behind below glanced their way. "Leviathan."
