"…sekai ga…node…"
He was buried so far beneath the pressure solidified as ice that had filled his mind that it was a miracle he could hear himself think. The song's notes intensified as he stirred, the faint voice caressing his ears as the ice that kept him from moving cracked. The voice was so soft that he was, just for a moment, doubting who was singing. That song was familiar but it was her voice that caused a spark to form within his chest that created cracks to appear within the surrounding ice. His eyes opened slowly, as if he were waking from a drug induced slumber, the haze covering his vision giving way as a shadow approached.
"…tsuku…wa dekimasen…"
The ice cracked more as his chest expanded, air rushing into his lungs as he inhaled deeply through his nose. He'd been somewhere like this before, during his training up north where the water had been cold enough to form icebergs around anything, even a few of the merfolk who lived within the icy waters were occasionally victims. This was different though. This ice was attempting to suck the very life force out of him, just as Bakura's dark sphere of magic had tried.
"…ni kagayaku…" An outline of gold surrounded the shadow as it placed a hand against the largest crack within the ice, the voice growing stronger but sounding feeble, as if teetering on the verge of losing hope as their slender fingers reached for him. Spiderweb cracks appeared throughout the ice as his hand twitched then rose. Streams rained down upon him as the breaking ice melted with the shadows as cerulean eyes met his gaze.
"…watashi wa umaremashita…"
She was there, waiting, calling out to him, lightning his way out of this place. His hand flexed as the ice attempted to reclaim it, effectively keeping it free of its restraining grasp, and was bathed in warm light as her fingers finally met his own.
