Remnants of the Unbound Tale
Chapter 1
So, this is my attempt at a Kamen Rider x RWBY fic with a different sort of plot. It is partially inspired by Relic of the Future along with several other fics by Coeur Al'Aran that have a similar plot focus, as it will not focus on the students of Beacon and the main OC will effect changes to canon plot due to his actions.
I'll be taking a few liberties with the abilities of the Wonder and Alter Ride Books, for plot convenience, but I'll try and keep things from getting too ridiculous.
Disclaimer: I own neither Kamen Rider nor Rwby.
It was a cloudy day with some light rain, but that didn't matter much for Alexander Drake. Alex was a young man with a lean build from exercise and outdoor activity with black hair and striking blue eyes. Currently, he was exploring a cave system he had found while on a previous hiking trip and was having the time of his life. He enjoyed the outdoors and was hoping to find something interesting in these caves as he traveled through the stone cavern. He was just about ready to turn back, when a he caught a glint of light in the corner of his eye.
Turning, he saw a large stalagmite that was almost as tall as him with something shiny reflecting light from under the stone surface. His curiosity piqued, Alex walked over to the stone spike and tried to brush away the grit covering it, but wasn't able to make much progress with the layers of hardened calcium covering it. Frowning, he hit the stalagmite with the metal butt of his flashlight, causing the stone to crack off and reveal a crystalline pillar with several strange etchings on it. Alex shined his light onto the crystal, causing light to refract through it and shine over the young explorer.
Suddenly though, the cave began to shake, causing Alex to drop his flashlight before the floor dropped away under his feet, causing him to slide down through a dark slick tunnel before being deposited in a large cavern.
"What was that about?" groaned Alex as he climbed to his feet and dusted himself off, "And how am I gonna get out of here now?"
Alex shined his light around the room, eternally thankful that his flashlight had survived the fall with him, and his eyes widened at what he saw.
Somehow, he had fallen into what appeared to be some ancient buried ruins surrounding a large pool of what appeared to be water. Curious about what he had stumbled onto, Alex walked closer to the pool and looked down into it, but couldn't see beyond the surface due to the murky nature of the pool.
"This is pretty cool," said Alex as he picked up a pebble from the ground, "if only I wasn't stuck here, this could be the biggest archeological find of my life."
Alex sighed and tossed the stone across the surface of the pool, and suddenly light began to shine from the depths of the liquid, and as Alex moved closer to get a better look at the source, the cavern shook again and Alex lost his footing, causing him to drop his flashlight and fall into the pool.
Alex struggled to swim back to the surface as his lungs burned for oxygen, but there seemed to be some force dragging him downwards, deeper and deeper, despite how hard he struggled. As the light from the surface grew dimmer, he realized with a growing sense of dread that he might actually die here, drowned in this mysterious pool where nobody could find his body. As darkness began to encroach on his vision, his final thoughts were of how he wished he could have done more with his life.

Alex came to with a jolt, similar to how one awakens after dreaming that they were falling from a great height and realized at once that he was no longer in the mysterious pool, nor in the cave. As he became aware of his surroundings, Alex found that he had been lying down in a small clearing in a lush green forest, though how he had gotten there from drowning in a mysterious pool in a cave was anyone's guess.
"This isn't a dream, right?" Alex said to himself as he pulled himself to his feet, "It feels too real for that. Am I dead? If this is what the afterlife is like, then I'm a bit underwhelmed."
Suddenly, he noticed there was a distinct weight in the pocket of his cargo pants, and when he reached in and pulled it out, he found it to be a strangely shaped rock that apparently had come along with him on his journey to this other world. Shrugging, he pocketed it again and decided to make his way through the forest, hoping to come across some sign of civilization before too long. Unfortunately though, the longer he trekked through the thick forest, the less likely it seemed that he'd be finding his way out, and Alex's mood worsened as the fact that he didn't have anything to eat began to make itself known.
"Argh!" groaned Alex, "Why did this have to happen to me? I just wanted to do some spelunking and now I've been spirited away to some strange forest? How did that turn into this?! Dear God, could this day get any WORSE?!"
As if in response to his complaints, the bushes around him began to rustle and growls could be heard coming from the woods around him, causing Alex to freeze up, before a monstrous creature resembling a demonic wolf with armored plates seemingly made of bone covering parts of their jet-black fur and eyes that glowed like burning coals in the abyss.
"Me and my big mouth," said Alex, as he scrambled for some sort of weapon, ultimately settling on pulling out the strange rock from earlier and holding it aloft, "Get back! I'm warning you."
Unfortunately, the beast was hardly threatened by the young man brandishing an oddly shaped rock and charged forward with a snarl, slashing Alex's side with his claws and leaving several flesh wounds due to him barely managing to roll out of the way. As the beast turned for another lunge, Alex managed to swing and hit the creature across the head with the rock in his hand, causing it to falter and shake its head before glaring at its prey and growling, moving for a more cautious approach as he stalked around him, waiting and watching.
"This doesn't look good," muttered Alex as he shifted his improvised weapon to his other hand so he could check his side with his dominant one, frowning as he saw how badly he was bleeding, "I guess dying in battle isn't all bad. There are worse ways to go, but I really wish I didn't have to."
The creature seemed to lose patience at that point and made to lunge at Alex, prompting him to swap the rock back to his good hand…and that's when things got a bit strange.
As his bloodied hand gripped the stone's surface, the rock in question began to heat up and it seemed to absorb some of the blood on Alex's hand as glowing red cracks formed across its surface. Just as the lupine creature leapt at Alex, the rock let of a blinding glow as Alex reflexively held it out in front of him to defend against the threat, the light actually blasting the beast back across the ground.
Alex watched in disbelief as the stone floated out of his hand and hovered before him before shattering to reveal a glowing blue object resembling a small book that dropped into Alex's waiting hand.
"No way," breathed Alex in disbelief, "this can't be."
As the wolf-like beast was recovering, Alex quickly flipped the cover of the book open to confirm his hopes, and he was not disappointed.
[King of Arthur!]
Toaru kishiou ga furi orosu kanzen chouaku no hitotachi…
Suddenly, the ground between Alex and the wolf was split open as a large boulder rose up from the depths, before the top half shattered to reveal a large sword embedded in it with a gold and blue color scheme with silver highlights.
Smiling despite the pain from his wound, Alex reached out and grabbed the hilt of the blade, causing a beam of light to shoot out and hit his waist, forming a metal belt that Alex recognized as a Seiken Saikou Driver, albeit one with blue and gold accents. Seeing the strange beast had recovered somewhat, Alex knew what he had to do.
Slotting the RideBook into his new Driver and ripped the sword from the stone, causing said stone to crumble away.
"HENSHIN!" yelled Alex as he slammed his fist down on the activator button, causing the Ride Book to flip open in the Driver.
[Tenrai Read: Ō ken: Caliburn! Arthur Ou!]
A massive version of the Wonder RideBook landed behind Alex and flipped open as a colossal figure wearing regal knight's armor and a crown stepped out of the pages, before his figure shattered into motes of light that surrounded Alex and formed into a set of blue and white armor with gold accents complete with a white cape.
Toaru monogatari no chikara ga ken ni yadoru!
Feeling the power from the RideBook flowing through him, Alex was filled with a newfound sense of confidence as he faced down the sinister wolf-like creature, sword in hand.
"Now," he muttered to himself as he adjusted his grip on the weapon, "let's try that again."
The beast let out a roar and charged at Alex again, but this time, Alex was ready and swing his sword out, clipping the beast's bone mask and leaving a moderately sized gash in the armor while also stunning the beast for a moment. Alex didn't give the beast a chance to recover and rushed forward, feeling the armor he now wore empowering and enhancing his movements as he closed the distance between them, swinging his blade at an unarmored section of the beast's shadowy hide, the mystical edge of the weapon cleaving through the creature's hide, leaving a deep wound, allowing Alex to follow through with a powerful swing that decapitated the beast, causing it's body to crumble to ash as Alex finally allowed himself to relax.
"Well, that wasn't fun," breathed Alex as he pulled closed the cover on his RideBook and removed it from his Driver, causing his armor to dispel in a flurry of book pages, "I'll have to be more careful if I want to get out of here alive."
With that, Alex continued on his trek through the mysterious forest, but now that the fight was over, he wasn't running on adrenaline and thus he felt the energy draining from his tired body. Add in the wound on his side that still hurt like hell and the lack of food in his stomach and Alex was feeling ready to pass out from exhaustion. Stumbling as his knees buckled, Alex fell to his knees, stabbing his new sword into the ground and leaning on it to stay upright.
"Damnit," he swore, his breathing labored, "that thing really got me good, but I guess I got it back."
Chuckling to himself, he let his grip slacken as he slumped to the ground, "Well, my time as a Rider might have been short, but at least I got in a good battle…"
With that, Alex let darkness claim him as he fell limply to the ground.

Meanwhile, several figures were watching a live feed of the unconscious young man lying prone next to his sword. They had been observing him from not long after his arrival and had witnessed his battle with the Creature of Grimm via the cameras stationed at key points around the forest.
"Glynda," said one figure as he steepled his fingers in front of his face, "have him brought in, and inform Sherry that she'll have a patient to deal with. I'd like to know more about this young man."
"Of course, Headmaster Ozpin," said the second figure as she left the room, leaving the first alone as he curiously studied the new figure, his mind wondering who he was, and where he had come from.
