PART 1: PROLOGUE: SCENE 2: A New World
"Lady Rhea, are you sure this is the wisest decision. With the next emperor, prince and sovereign duke all on a single expedition, it paints a very clear target on their backs." The advisor, Seteth, protested.
"I am, Seteth. They must learn to work together, even if they'll each come to rule their own territories, these relations are the keys Fodlan's lasting peace. We both know the Knights of Seiros are the best of the best and will keep them safe." Lady Rhea reassured.
"Then why do I get the feeling some unnecessary risks will be taken tonight," Seteth muttered before addressing the archbishop again. "Very well then, I'll gather all the professors to address the coming year in the meantime." He said, bowing before leaving.
"Good, the Goddess watches over them all." Rhea said with a smile.
Before the advisor could exit the archbishop's chambers, the door that Seteth was about to reach for suddenly burst open. A panting knight was who came into the surprised view of the high ranking duo.
"L-Lady Rhea!" The knight reported between heavy breaths, "A-A magical storm of some kind! Outside the monastery's front gate! It just appeared out of nowhere and is surrounding the front wall!"
Both Rhea and Seteth were placed on high alert thanks to this news. Looking to each other, against the advisor's better judgement, he knew that Rhea would personally see to this mysterious anomaly herself. Seeing no use stopping her, he allowed her to quickly pass by with himself not a step behind.
As the pair walked post-haste, a number of the monastery's garrisoned knights were already running towards the front gate. Reaching the front of the entrance hall, both Rhea and Seteth could see just what was making the monastery uneasy. Like the report had said, a growing cloud of black and gray was approaching the gate. With lightning and thunder striking around the storm, and, is that ice? Whatever it was, it was clear that this was not a storm of natural origins.
"Seteth." Rhea said, her attention unwavering from the sky as her advisor looked to her, "Prepare the knights under my command and may the goddess help us all."
As those at the monastery were preparing for the worst, across the way and deep within the black cloud, known not to any in Fodlan yet, a portal opened up, tearing a hole in their very reality. Swirling around, the portal grew in size until it reached a breaking point, erupting in a blast of explosive magic. Eight lost souls spewed forth and were dropped from the heavens. A world of technological and personal wonder quickly shrinking away into oblivion. Half of the group fell while unconscious while the other half found themselves seeing the quickly approaching ground.
"URARAKA!" Izuku shouted above the rushing air as soon as he realized what was going on. "WE NEED TO SAVE THE OTHERS!"
"RIGHT!" Uraraka responded. The girl found herself within arms reach of Momo and Iida, tapping each of them, removing their gravity as they now began falling behind the falling teens, no longer accelerating and slightly decelerating. Unfortunately "I CAN'T REACH THEM ALL!"
Luckily for them however, Todoroki understood the situation instantly and created the beginnings of an ice ramp to catch the others. The ice raced towards the ground, expanding into a slide as it went to catch those who were unconscious. Guiding themselves to the ground, Bakugo was using his explosions, Todoroki, his ice slide, Uraraka canceling her own gravity, relying on Shoto's Ice and Izuku using One For All in the move he planned on making back at the entrance exam.
In just over fifteen seconds, it was all over and the eight hero students were on the ground with nothing more than a few bruises on Kirishima and Jiro from their uncontrolled descent. Once those who were awake regained their bearings, they found themselves in a forest. To some, it was strange going from the bustling cities of Japan to the wooded wilderness but not as jarring for those who were scattered at the USJ only a month or two ago.
"Damn it, where the hell are we?" Bakugo questioned aloud, shaking away any drowsiness and lowering himself into an aggressive defensive stance.
"A forest from the looks of things." Todoroki responded, also becoming defensive but more reserved than Bakugo.
"I can see that, Icy-Hot!" Screamed Bakugo, "Where did the son of a bitch go?!"
"I don't think he's here Kachaan." Izuku answered. "It seemed like that man didn't expect for that explosion to happen and had no control over it. If we're all here, he should be as well, but he isn't." The greenette muttered.
"I don't remember asking you a damn thing, Deku!" The blonde screamed.
"Could you not!" Uraraka screamed back, upset with her classmate's constant behaviour, "We don't know where we are, Iida, Yaoyorozu, Kirishima and Jiro are all unconscious and who knows what else is out there." She gestured to their classmates then to the dark forest.
Bakugo was pissed but held his tongue as he knew she was right, turning away from the girl, he started walking away. "Tsck. Damn Round-Face."
"And where are you going?" Shoto monotonously asked, arms crossed.
"I'm gonna go blow off some steam. And don't even think about following me." Katsuki said, stomping off into the tree line.
Once he was out of sight, the tension in the three remaining students dropped slightly. They were still all on edge given their unknown location, but without Bakugo, they could now figure something out without butting heads with him at every decision.
"Alright, Midoriya." Todoroki said in all seriousness, "What've we got?"
"R-Right. W-Well we don't know where we are, s-so setting up camp here is probably our best bet for survival." Izuku stuttered, being the center of attention and all. "Todoroki, do you think you can set up a fire?"
With a hmph, the half hot, half cold user started gathering wood for a fire.
"Uraraka, do you think you can keep an eye on everyone?" Izuku asked.
"Yeah. What're you gonna do?" She asked in return.
"Like you said, we don't know what's out here, I'll see if there's anything around here." Izuku replied.
Uraraka looked worried for a moment before responding, "Alright, stay sa-"
Suddenly the sound of neighing and galloping horses suddenly shook the ground the pair were on. Izuku, Uraraka, Todoroki at the edge of the new camp and even Bakugo further in heard the coming steeds.
Breaking around the slowly melting ice, a small guard of what looked to be knights came and began surrounding the seven conscious and unconscious students.
"In the name of Saint Seiros, surrender now." One of the knights ordered.
With swords, spears and bows pointed towards them, Izuku and Uraraka complied, slowly putting their hands in the air, both understanding that something wasn't right here. Todoroki fell in line with them from off to the side as he was pushed inwards by some of the knights.
"Thank you Captain, we'll take it from here." A green haired man who looked like he could be Izuku's father walked out from behind the ice pillar. "So, these are the ones who caused this anomaly." He said, looking towards the teens.
Todoroki defensively shifted his stance and Uraraka took a step towards their downed friends. Izuku meanwhile gulped down his fear, "I-I'm sorry, b-but what anomaly?" He asked.
The man shifted his gaze to Izuku, analyzing him in a way that reminded the teens of Mr. Aizawa's death stare, but this time, without the help of a Quirk and yet being equally as intimidating. "Your sudden appearance under a storm cloud of unnatural origins." The man said. "As this happened on the monastery's doorstep, it is the archbishop's responsibility to figure out what to do with you seven." The man had to raise an eyebrow at the sight of the four unconscious teens.
"Thank you Seteth." A woman, green haired as well, now approached. Her tone, clothes and stride were all held in high regard. The three teens could tell she was important in some way or another.
"Lady Rhea." The man, Seteth, bowed out of the way.
Examining those before her, Rhea found the sight slightly disturbing. Four unconscious and three lost souls, all kids, no older than fifteen or sixteen, "Children." She spoke with curiosity and compassion, "Do you know what happened here?"
"No ma'am." The brown haired girl said, still in front of her comrades. "After a man attacked us, we found ourselves falling in the sky."
Rhea grew more curious, this was already an interesting story, "I'm assuming this is the result then." The archbishop motioned to the ice slide behind her."
"Yeah, Todoroki saved us." The green haired boy said, gesturing to the boy with red and white hair beside him.
"I must say, you are quite gifted if you could pull it off." Rhea complimented. The boy seemed to loosen up slightly. "Such magical prowess at your age is quite rare."
The three gained questioning looks at the archbishop's last statement. Looking at each other, the green haired one spoke for them, a question they each seemed to have. "T-That was his Quirk. Uhh, where are we exactly?"
Now it was the pair's, along with the knights' turn to be confused.
Seteth answered with another analytical gaze. "Just outside of Garreg Mach Monastery." Seeing their confusion, he elaborated, "The center of Fodlan." There were a few who didn't not know of the church, however rare that may be.
"Fodlan?" The red and white haired bow asked, an analytical gaze of his own.
"The continent." Rhea clarified, unsure what to expect. "I must ask, where are you seven from?"
Looking to each other again the green haired teen spoke again. "Japan… Planet Earth."
Izuku had initially thought it would be redundant to say Earth, but there wasn't a continent named Fodlan on the blue planet and they already seemed to be in a worse case scenario already.
On the outside, both Rhea and Seteth were composed, but on the inside, they were drawing a blank. With their collective two thousand years of life between the two of them, neither could recall those names.
"I have not heard of a Japan or Earth before." Rhea said, trying to get more information out of the teens. "Is there any major power nearby to be used as a reference?"
Izuku took a meek approach after that, already coming to his own conclusion about their situation. "The United States of America, Russia and China."
That received more blanks from the archbishop and her advisor. They were now starting to see why the kid used the word planet earlier.
With a Harsh gaze towards the teens, "If you are inciting what I think you're inciting, the church will not stand for it." Seteth stated threateningly.
Izuku and Uraraka gulped in fear, they were about to defend their position only for Rhea to cut in between them.
"Now Seteth, I wish to hear them out." The archbishop said, stunning her advisor where he stood. It took a minute for him to regain his composure.
"Rhea!" Seteth whisper shouted, "Do you truly believe this nonsense." He argued.
"I see no malice in their words, Seteth. It may not seem like it at this moment, but I do have the goddess' interest at heart." Rhea explained. Her decision final, she turned to the knights. "Men! Clear the perimeter!"
A moment of slow, steady breathing later, "... As you wish." Seteth relented, taking his leave to lead the knights.
As all the knights began to disperse, Rhea was left with Izuku, Uraraka and Todoroki. Each of the teens tense in the shoulders and unsure how to proceed. Sighing to herself now that no one else was around, she spoke.
"I assume you have all come to the same conclusion as I?" Rhea asked.
"Y-yeah." Izuku replied, looking to both of his companions to see their nods of agreement. "Another world."
"While I still find it hard to believe, I can hear the truth in your words." Rhea stated, "Given the nature of this meeting, I also assume the three of you and your companions are stuck here. Am I right?"
The trio looked to the sky, seeing the cloud in which they came now disappearing into the atmosphere. "Seems so." Todoroki commented.
"In that case, may I ask your names?" Rhea asked.
"R-Right. I'm Izuku Midoriya." Izuku said.
"Shoto Todoroki." Shoto said next.
"Ochaco Uraraka." Uraraka finished, "Oh and these are Momo Yaoyorozu, Ejiro Kirishima, Kyoka Jiro and Tenya Iida." She added, motioning to their downed companions.
"I am Rhea, the archbishop of the church of Seiros." Rhea introduced, "We can provide a place of recovery for your friends for the time being, if you three wish."
"That's a-a very generous offer, ma'am, b-but we s-still have-'' Izuku was saying but was interrupted. An explosion sounded off in the distance from the direction where Bakugo went. The three hero students could already tell he had just encountered the knights. "Kachaan." Izuku said, running off towards the sound and his childhood friend leaving the three in his dust.
The second scene of the chapter. Rhea and Seteth are introduced to the group and the opening of the game is basically happening concurrently with this chapter. Hopefully so far no one is too out of character but I feel like the MHA solo part, both here and in the previous scene/chapter are a little to fast paced. It has been fast action so thoughts are appreciated.
Currently this is at White Clouds, Prologue, second scene. This is how I'll be sorting this story into part, chapter and scene with the part and chapter being game based and the scenes being just that, scenes.
Anyway, the group's in Fodlan and are soon to enter the plot. Until next time
