Date night
"Yes Sokka I made it," Katara voiced her annoyance of her brother. "No, I'll be home by 8 I swear!" she said angrily.
Katara walks down the city streets of Ba-Sing-Se, one of the largest and oldest cities on the face of planet Earth. The buildings stretched up higher than any that were in Katara's small town miles away, many tinted brown and green, adorning hundreds of windows, hoisting billboards of, movies, models, restaurants and even Jumbotrons for commercials and ads.
"This city makes my head spin sometimes," Katara looks up at the buildings as she makes her way through the crosswalk with a crowd of people. She grips tight to the strap of her bag to keep it from being stolen. Some of the people nearly bump into her, almost knocking her over.
"Excuse me!" she said annoyed.
The person that bumped into her didn't respond and kept on his way. She ignored the general attitude of the people around her and made it across.
"This city is so crowded, I better find her soon," thought Katara.
Katara steps foot on the sidewalk and takes a look at all of the shops set up along the street; cafe's, large departments, clothing stores, electronics and more. Number of stores and homes only increased as she looked around her.
"Will she want to go to all these places after the movies?" she asked. Then Katara non-verbally curses her wallet,
"Oh, I better have enough money for today or she'll never let me live it down," thought Katara embarrassed. As many shops as there were she saw one in particular only a few feet away; it was a small flower shop adorned with roses, lilies, tulips, sunflowers, and all sorts of flourishing plants of beauty. Mesmerized by the bloomed decorations Katara walks over to get a closer look as they rested on their stands. What stood out to her were the roses, the bright blood red color shamed the others; strong, demanding attention by merely existing.
"So pretty," said Katara. "Reminds me of someone,"
"Oh you like those miss?"
Katara turns to see the shops owner, dressed with a flower printed apron and bandanna to match.
"Yes sir, could I have a rose?" asked Katara.
"Just the one or a bouquet?" he asked back. Katara pulls out her wallet and present a handful of money
"Just one please," she says politely.
She paid for the rose. Walking away from the store owner she sniffed the rose and takes in the aroma; it was sweet. The stem wasn't covered in cloth or plastic, but it bore no thorns so it wasn't harmful. Katara held to to her nose, feeling the soft petals and sniffs it again.
"Hope she likes it," she uttered
Katara had made it to her destination; a large movie theater that was showing two movies; one was a hack and slash film called "The Blue Spirit," where a man in a blue demon mask would tear apart former members of the military and their family in a fit of revenge.
"Ugh, I hate scary movies, The other was a romance film amply named "Heart of the Painted Lady", the spirit of a woman romances a young noble girl after her father mistakenly buys a haunted portrait. "That one might be nice, but I'd have to trick her into watching it," thought Katara. She looked at botth posters of the movie, however she didn't notice someone approaching her.
"Your late Katara, " the figure smirks, "fashionably late,"
Katara spins around to see her date standing behind her; a girl about her age with lighter skin than Katara's eskimo brown. She wore a red and black short sleeved shirt that exposed her bellybutton with an open cropped black jacket over it. Her legs were dressed with brown jeans that were held in place by a belt with a metal buckle. Her hair was black and tied with a ribbon and a small ornament in the appearance of a fire symbol. She wore a black armband with a metal "A" attached to it. Her lips were coated in cherry red lipstick with her eyes subtly decorated with eyeliner. Her shoes were white and red shoes with red laces. Seeing the teenage girl, Kata blushes and smirks a little whilst shyly putting her hands behind her back and tapping the tip of her foot.
"Hey Azula, glad you made it," said Katara.
Azula eyes her girlfriend up and down; Katara had small braids that acted like loops connecting back to her head with a larger braid going down her back, she wore a light blue short shirt that showed her bellybutton like Azula's and Katara wore a dark blue cotton vest over it. Rather than pants she wore a blackish gray skirt that didn't even float over her knees. On her feet were blue sandals with gay straps that complemented her dark skin.
"Of course I came," Azula struts over to Katara and puts her hands on her hips with a grin, "What surprises me is little good girl Katara showed up late for our date."
Katara blushes embarrassed and narrows her eyes slightly.
"We could have had it and my house and me not get lost in the city," she wipes her forehead," I had to take a bus 3 times and have to listen to my brother nag me over the phone." said Katara. Azula then walked closer to Katara.
"Oh I'm sorry," she takes Katara's hand, making both parties blush., 'Next time we can go to my house; my family won't bother us unless you count concerned stares." said Azula. Katara smiles with glee but retracts her hand remembering a small wrinkle.
"Uh huh, what about those two?" asked Katara "Ty Lee and Mai?" She folds her arms causing Azula to shrug. "How they like to barge in when I want us to be alone, they even follow us to my house," Katara was visibly irritated at the memories of such events.
"Oh relax; Zuzu can distract Mai without me asking, and Ty Lee won't bother us." said Azula. She puts her hands on her hips. "She won't bug you if I tell her not to," She smirks with pure confidence and self-assurance.
"… I gues-"
Azula put her finger to Katara's mouth. "Shh, lets not talk about our family today," she gives Katara a kiss on her lips. Katara smiles, and kisses Azula back. "Good, now walk me inside the theater." ordered Azula.
"Okay 'Queen Azula' but there are only two movies playing today," Katara gestures to the posters, "A horror movie and a romance," she gives a bright smiles,
"Perfect , picking the Blue Spirit won't be hard then," said Azula. Katara raises and eyebrow.
"Excuse me?" she retakes her hand and folds her arms, "Azula you know I hate horror movies," Katara gestures to the Heart of the Painted Lady poster, "Lets go see this one instead, a romance movie." she makes a heart sign, "Like our date," she emphasized the word "date"
"Ugh, Yes nothing whispers romance into my ear like the spirit of an older woman seducing a young girl in the middle of the night," Azula holds up her hands and wiggles them around like worms, "Surprised itsn't rated R for that alone,"
"Azula you know I like romance movies, like 'Lover's Cave'," Katara points at the Painted Lady poster, "This is perfect!"
"And you know I love scary movies, like Koi Child," Azula points to The Blue Spirit poster, "And this date was my idea,"
They both argued back and forth, time slipping away before each movie would begin. Just then a spark of inspiration hit Azula.
"Wait," she pulls out a coin, 'Lets flip for it; heads for The Blue Spirit, tails for Heart of the Painted Lady. Katara didn't need to think hard about the bet.
'Sure, flip it," said Katara with a confident smile. With a flick of her thumb Azula tossed the coin into the air, it lands on the ground with a single clink with the results as,
"Tails, I win!" yelled Katara. Azula's face sunk into a frown. With hearts in her eyes Katara drags Azula by her arm into the Theater.
"Lady Luck you're a bitch." Azula thought to herself.
On the screen it showed a ghostly figure; a woman, her face painted with red markings around her eyes, down her cheek and around her mouth, she dressed in see through drapery clothing. Her skin was translucent, glowing like the moon. Her eyes were a deep blue, resembling the ocean. Her hair was long and brown and glowed as her skin did. This feminine beauty was not hovering over a young woman of noble birth; her eyes were hazel, her hair was long and black, she wore a brown night gown.
The ghost levitates over the body of the young girl, arms stretched the ghost prepared to embrace her. The young maiden was frozen in place, she dared not move out of anxiety. Mesmerized by the eyes of the phantom. Soon the Painted Lady's body lowered to kiss the maiden and her lover would embrace it all.
"Aww," whispered Katara as she sat next to her girlfriend in the front row. Her head was resting on Azula's shoulder while their hands were holding. Though Katara was enjoying the film Azula looked on at the movie bored. "This is so romantic," she sees Katara blushing as she watched the two women kiss on the the screen.
"That's not very fair," said Azula aloud. Katara looks up at Azula, angry at her for talking. Before she could say anything to her Azula leans in and kisses her on the lips. Katara blushes a deep red when the kiss is done, she looks at Azula's smug face only to hear the words.
"Why do they get to be the only ones to have fun?" she asked in a teasing tone. Katara blinks, looking at Azula with dreamy eyes and her girlfriend exchanging the same look.
"You might be right," said Katara,
Without a second thought Katara grabs Azula's face and pulls her in close. She then began to assaulter her with thousands of kisses; deep, short, on her cheeks, lips, neck or anywhere else. Azula grinned with each kiss taking her to heaving and the two began to make out.. As they kissed they were immersed in their world so much that they missed the rest of the movie, however Katara would forgive Azula for such a transgression.
All done.
