CHAPTER THREE

Earth-38

Location: National City

"Uh, I'm Mia. I'm Oliver's daughter." Mia greets waving towards the heroes in the room feeling a little underdressed.

"I never knew you had a daughter." Kara grinned.

"He gets that a lot."

"Hmm... Okay, you. Start talking." Alex points to Harbinger taking control of the situation.

"There's a wave of anti-matter sweeping across this universe, destroying everything in its path." Harbinger answers.

"I've seen the anti-matter wave in action. It wiped all of Earth-2 right out of existence." Oliver adds.

"I brought you all to Earth-38 because this is where the Monitor wants you to make your stand. This universe is the tipping point. If we don't stop the anti-matter wave here, it will continue to the next universe, and the next, and the next. Until it has obliterated, not only every Earth, but every thing... across all reality."

Right. So, we are going to need a bigger team. Where's Barry? Where are the Legends?" Oliver asks.

"Doing reconnaissance. I'm headed to check on them now." Harbinger declares flashing out of the room without warning, temporarily blinding everyone.

"I still don't like her." Kate groaned rubbing her eyes

"Well, Brainy's algorithm will help forecast exactly how much time we have until the anti-matter wave hits. Thank you all for being here. I know we can beat this together." Kara says hopefully.

"About Jonathan... We set a course for Earth in his pod, but we don't know where it landed. Or even if it landed." Clark voices his concern for his son.

"Brainy, can you track his trajectory?" J'onn asks.

"Absolutely. We'll find that bouncing bundle of Kryptonian joy faster than a flying Flackurian.." Brainy stops as a strange building rises from the ground causing everyone to get in a fight stance.

"Wait! the tower isn't a threat." Barry shouts, appearing with Lyla, Ray and Sara by his side.

"How do you know?" Oliver questions needing more information.

"It's a quantum tower, apparently. And it's the only thing that can save the people of this world. At the dawn of time, the Monitor placed quantum towers on key Earths as a last line of defense." Barry explains as the red sky goes back to it's regular blue. "The red skies are dissipating, which means it's working."

"From this design, it looks like the tower is capable of generating a quantum flux field." Brainy calculated. "which can, theoretically.."

"Reverse the exogenic state of the anti-matter wave, thereby dissipating the anti-matter energy." Ray finishes with a smile as Brainy excitedly shakes his hand.

"Finally, someone who speaks my language besides Lena!"

"Love your suit. If you want, I can probably give it an upgrade." Ray offers to Kate grabbing her glove to inspect it.

"Depends on how attached you are to your hand." Kate asks threateningly glaring at him

"Pretty attached." Ray squeaks, dropping the hand.

"So the tower can stop this Earth from being destroyed?" Oliver asks.

"If you can protect it." Harbinger confirms

"Protect it from what?"

"The Anti-Monitor. He commands forces greater than any army. When the tower stops the wave, they will come to thwart any effort to save this planet and its people."

"Sprock!" Brainy shouts. "It appears that Jonathan Kent's pod has disappeared from our radar. It appears to have been sucked into a wormhole."

"What are the coordinates?" Clark asks.

"Star City. Earth-16. Interesting. It must've been a temporal wormhole because... well, the pod is in the year 2046."

"We've been there before." Ray realized. "Apparently, we didn't just travel to the future."

"Yeah, we traveled to a parallel Earth in the future." Sara finishes.

"I'm going after him." Clark declares determined to save his son but Oliver stands in front of him.

"Clark, you can't."

"Those are two words I'm not used to hearing and my son needs me." Clark says glaring Oliver clenching his fist tightly

"I'm a parent and I get it. But the entire universe needs you. When that tower gets attacked, you have to be here to protect it." Oliver explains knowing without Clark they will lose. "I'll go." Lois declares, causing Clark to look at her with worry in his eyes.

"Lois."

"I'll back her up. I know the terrain." Sara offers Brainy steps in "As will I. I happen to be excellent with children."

"Don't worry, I'll get him. I love you." Lois says sweetly kissing her husband as Sara walks up to Oliver. "You know, Oliver... I've seen playboy Oliver, vigilante Oliver, but I never thought I would see parent Oliver." Sara chuckles.

"It's weird, right?" Oliver smiles.

"So weird." Sara laughs. "But... it looks good on you."

"Uh, J'onn I thought Director Danvers was with you?" Brainy asks, confused, noticing her disappearance.

"She was." J'onn answers. "But she went to call the president to coordinate the evacuation, in case the quantum tower fails."

"She is smart, that is exactly what I was about to suggest, but has she contemplated the number of ships one would require for such an exodus?" Brainy asks concerned. knowing humans haven't created ships that are strong enough to handle universal travel yet.

"Brainy, every alien refugee on this planet came here on a ship. I intend to ask them for their help." J'onn declared confident in the aliens who have claimed the earth as their new home.

"Do you really think they will? After how the government and the Children of Liberty treated them last year." Brainy recalled.

"I have faith that... everybody will do the right thing." J'onn decides. "Humans and aliens alike."

Well, in any event... this should help." Brainy says giving J'onn a silver button.

"What does it do?" J'onn asks curiously.

"Call for some much needed help." Brainy answer before realizing that he forgot to do something very important. "Oh, Sprock. I have to zero in on Jonathan's location on Earth 16." He heads towards the lab as Alex walks into the command centre.

"The president is in." Alex sighs tired from all of the stress. "He's speaking with other world leaders. We'll co-ordinate the effort from National City. But J'onn, even if we did manage to get enough ships for everyone, we can't just fly off Earth. I mean, space itself is being erased."

"Earth-1 is the last stop on the anti-matter trajectory; We can try and get everybody there." J'onn offers.

"Well, one little extrapolator is not gonna do the job." Alex points hopelessly

"The transmatter portal?"

" Who could build one big enough? I mean, not even Brainy has." Alex says losing more hope by the second.

"Lena."
