CHAPTER FIVE

Location: The Quantum Tower

Oliver, Mia, Kate and Ray walk up in front of the tower for battle in their suits.

"Whatever is inside there, it's working." Ray comments. "The anti-matter wave has stopped and it's slowly dissipating.

"How do we protect this thing from an enemy we know nothing about, but we know is coming?" Kate says frustrated by the situation.

"We head inside and stake out strategic positions." Oliver answers. "If we're fortified, we control the battle."

Suddenly the ground begins violently knocking down the heroes and shaking the quantum tower. " An Earthquake that magnitude could overwhelm the entire coast." "

Go. Help contain the damage." Oliver orders Ray. "Go! We got this. Let's go inside and dig in."

Earth-16

Location: Star City

A breach opens and Lois, Sara and Brainy step through appearing to be in a destroyed and dusty version of the Arrowcave.

"You've gotta be kidding me.: Lois scoffs. "What are the odds that my son's pod landed here?"

"Three billion, eight hundred and twenty seven million to one." Brainy answer. "Uh... but the pod didn't land here."

"But you said that this is where Jonathan is."

"Yes. This is where I tracked him. But I can't speculate as to why Oliver Queen would kidnap a baby." Brainy says with a confused expression on his face.

"Well, he probably thought he was rescuing him." Sara reasons. "I mean, Star City is no place for a child."

"Well, I'll thank him when I have Jonathan back." Lois declared "In the meantime, we should split up..."

Out of nowhere a trap arrow is fired splitting into ropes wrapping around Brainy. "This is unnecessary." he shouts as he falls.

"Oliver?" Sara assumes looking around the arrowcave suddenly a man in a green hood throws a fist at Sara who dodges sending a kick of her own.

"Oliver." Sara grunts, blocking another strike from The hooded man as Lois hears a familiar cry that sounds a lot like her son. "Jonathan!"

"Yes. Yes, you go get Jonathan. I'll...I'll stay here!" Brainy pants frantically trying to escape his bindings as Sara continues to fight Earth-16's Oliver Queen.

After blocking a few attacks Sara sees her opening punching him in the ribs then kicking him in the chest to make space between them.

Oliver pulls off his hood shocked at the sight in front of him "What? No. No, it's not possible. You're dead. You... you went down with the Gambit."

"But I came back. Remember? I found you in Lian Yu."

"I must be losing my mind." Oliver whispers, cradling his head.

"No, Ollie, you're not... Hey. You're not. You're... It's just a long story. The longest."

As the fighting stops Lois walks back into the room with a smile on her face and Jonathan in her arms who coos glad to be with her mother. "Thank you, Oliver. Thank you for keeping my son safe."

Earth-38

Location: National City

As they guard the tower, Mia frowns at the silence finding it unnerving.

"So, what is this? The proverbial calm before the storm?"

"Something like that." Oliver answers. "Remember, Mia, whatever happens... find your mother. Tell her how much I love her."

Before Mia could say anything, the sound of a horrifying screech reached her ears and the group look toward the source to see a horrifying sight.

A creature with grey wrinkled skin, bug-like wings on it's back, weird black armor, red glowing eyes, with sharp rotten teeth and it was carrying a some sort of gun preparing to fire at the group but Oliver quickly takes it out with an arrow to the head.

But as the body falls a group of the creatures appear in the sky heading towards them causing our heroes to leap into action.

"Okay. When Lyla said an army, I thought she meant an... army." Mia grunts, firing an arrow at one of the creatures before kicking one away that got too close.

"She did." Oliver points dodging a shot quickly firing an arrow that explodes taking out a group of the creatures. "Just that... we've never faced one like this before.

"One army! She said, One army!" Ray shouts while taking flight using his blasters to take out as many of these things as possible but the more he takes out the more they appear. "This is more like ten!"

"Take cover!" Oliver shouts, firing three explosive arrows taking out multiple creatures but that doesn't stop more of them from attacking, pushing the group into a corner.

"They're trying to breach the tower!"

"Well, we can't let that happen! I'll take that upgrade now." Kate says hurriedly, giving Ray a batarang.

"Oh, uh, if I can have one of those without losing an appendage." Ray jokes before working on the batarang. "Oh, so cool! Incredibly balanced. Carbon fiber?"

"Your friend talks a lot."

"Yeah, you get used to it." Oliver grunts "Hey, Ray, focus!"

"Focusing. Now, if we can just charge your Batarang with my compressed light energy."

"Incoming!" Oliver shouts as Ray finishes with Kate's batarangs getting back to the fight as Kate uses her new batarangs taking out more creatures then she was before and is impressed when the batarangs come back to her like a boomerang.

"Nice"

As more of the creatures appear the group soon ended up surrounded by them. The creatures swam around the heroes looking for an opportunity to strike.

"Dad what do we do?!" Mia shouts desperately.

"There's too many of them." Kate whispers as they all go back to back.

Suddenly a red and blue blurs appear as Kara and Clark both thunder clap away the surrounding creatures as Barry flashes in firing bolts of lighting at the ones who stayed.

"What the hell are those things?!" Barry exclaims looking at the bodies of the creatures Oliver and Mia killed.

"I don't know Barry but I hope you guys are ready because there's a lot more." Clark points looking toward the sky where red breach opens up in the sky letting out an army of the creatures.

"You have to be kidding me!"

Location: City Central Of National City

"There's no need for panic. Supergirl and Superman are working hard to save this planet. Please enter the Alien ships that will be taking you to safety." Nia instructs the people who are quick to follow running in fear to the nearest ship.

As Nia directs the people she hears her name being shouts among the crowd, she finds the source to be Ruby Arias who has become a little sister to her lead by Sam Arias who has become a surrogate mother always sure that she's okay and healthy and is always there if she needs her.

"Nia!" Sam shouts hugging Nia as she's close. "Are you okay?"

"Yeah I am okay, Did Kara get Lena on board?"

"Yeah, she's working with Alex on the portal now."

"I just hope Uncle J'onn can get enough ships. There are literally billions of people to get off the planet." Ruby points as Sam hugs her daughter close.

"That's why Brainy left J'onn his button." Nia smiled.

"Button for What?"

"To call for some much needed help."

Suddenly as if right on cue, the Legion ship arrives right behind Nia, It lands and the ramp opens revealing two familiar faces.

"I hope we weren't too late." Winn greets with Mon El and J'onn next him

"Right on time, Winn!" Ruby shouts with her eyes filled with hope.

"Are we ready to get this evacuation underway?" Nia asks J'onn who nods already bringing people into the ship.

"Start getting people into groups and I'll start beaming them up!"

"Let's just hope Alex and Lena get that portal online time so we have somewhere to go.

"You guys don't need my help here So I'll go help Kara." Mon El decides using his Legion to fly off. "Stay safe!"

"Alright This way. All right, people, start getting these ships!" Winn directs toward the ship before looking towards the sky as it flickers red for a second.

"I hope you have a good plan Kara."
