CHAPTER SIX
Earth-38
Location: DEO
Moments Ago before The Legion appeared...
Alex walks in the DEO lab heavily armored watching as Lena works with the DEO scientists hesitating to enter because of what happened between them but Kara was the one who brought Lena here and Kara was the one who hurt her the most.
But Alex's thoughts are interrupted when she sees the fight by the quantum tower on the monitor causing her to rush into the lab as the sky flickers red before turning back to normal.
"The quantum tower is keeping the wave at bay. Kara and the others are fighting really hard to protect it, but we've got to get this portal up and running now."
"I'm trying! But the transmatter portal works by synthesizing polyelectronic anions. And if I don't get the energy levels right when I interface with the breach device, then the ships will disintegrate when they fly right through it." Lena states running her hand through her hair also wearing a DEO uniform
"Right. That is not a good option."
"No it's not."
"Have you thought about using an inverse variable to help calculate the differential?" Alex suggests
"Galleon's theory. That's smart. An inverse beta-decay to figure constituent quark, that could work." Lena nods hurrying to the DEO scientists giving them their orders which they follow immediately, before quickly walking back to grabbing a small black box quickly handing it to Alex who opens it to reveal some sort of gauntlet.
"What is this?"
"This controls all of Lex's exosuits, if what I'm seeing is true there's an army of whatever those things quickly outnumbering Kara and her friends out, they are going to need the firepower I think that agents who can pilot the suits."
Lena explains putting the gauntlet on Alex who is surprised that Lena was trusting her with this kind of power but she realizes something.
"Won't the kryptonite in the suits take out Kara and Clark?"
"No, I took out the kryptonite years ago and gave it to the government which got sent to the DEO."
"Thank you Lena, I know this must be hard for you after what we did to each other." Alex says wholeheartedly knowing that Kara, Sam and Ruby would be happy to see them talking again even though they are sort of forced to because the universe is literally ending.
Lena nods her expressionless before speaking. "All you have to do is says a command through the gauntlet and it well immediately connect to the exosuits, so they'll come here where you and your agents can quickly enter into the suits and help Kara defend that tower."
"Got it." Alex nods, walking towards the lab wall confusing Lena.
"Um Alex... the exit is that way." Lena exclaims pointing towards the balcony as Alex presses the wall that scans her hand causing the wall to open revealing a man with red nth metal skin and a blue cape and a golden T on it's chest and an arrow on it's head.
"That's Red tornado, the Android Super- I mean Kara fought a year before I came to National CIty."
"Yep." Alex confirms walking towards Lena who is staring at the android, Alex can already see the gears turning in Lena's head probably thinking of ways to upgrade it.
"How did you get this?"
"The government has secretly been upgrading it since it was destroyed by Kara which is why it looks more human. They put their top scientists on it to take out Supergirl and Superman if they ever went rogue. But it was given to me since I am the Director."
Alex explains. "You are right we need more firepower to defeat this threat, I trust that you can get it online, to help us save as many people as we can."
"Be careful Alex, I don't know what Kara would do without you." Lena pleads as Alex leaves the lab nodding.
"Exosuits come to my location!" Alex orders through the gauntlet and it's silent for a few seconds before the sound of rockets can be heard as exosuits land into the command center shocking the agents.
Some of the suits were black or white and some had Lex's original green and purple but instead of the usual kryptonite core, it was powered by a blue energy that Alex wasn't familiar with but she'll ask Lena later if they survive this."
"Agents!" Alex shouts getting everyone's attention, the room becoming silent. "I know that everything is crazy right now, the sky is red, the earth is shaking and we can't help but feel powerless.
"And i know that all of you want to go to back your families and get to safety and I want to hold my wife and daughter as well but now I must asking- no begging- you to help me defend our world, because without that tower, the anti-wave destroy us before any ships can make it out of here."
Alex looks around the room looking at the faces of the agents, some are scared, others are determined. "Whose with me!?"
The DEO all raise their fists to the sky cheering as hope begins to enter their hearts.
"Then let's go!"
Earth-16
Location: Star City
"I never thought I'd see you again." Oliver whispers hugging Sara tightly who responds in kind
"One of the benefits of parallel Earths." Sara chuckled as Oliver or Old Man Oliver separated from their hug looking at with a confused expression.
"Parallel Earths?"
"It would appear that your reality is a little... stranger than mine."Sara chuckles again
"You really have no idea. All my life... I just wanted to... to apologize for bringing you on that boat." Oliver says breathlessly looking towards the ground in shame of what happened all those years ago."
"But you aren't even you. Ollie. If your Sara was anything like I was, then getting on the Gambit with you was her choice. And in my world, that trip... it set off a whole series of events that neither you or I could've ever dreamed of."
"You became a hero, a husband, a father. And I'm flying through time happier than I've ever been. And none of that would've ever happened if I didn't get on that boat with you. It was destiny."
"I'm... sorry to break up what I'm sure must be the strangest reunion in the history of the world, but, um, if we don't leave now, I'm afraid our extrapolator might not have enough power for us to return home." Brainy points out.
"Wait, what's an extrapolator?"
"It's another long story." Lois answers, holding Jon close to her chest.
"Hey, how about you come with us?" Sara offers . "Based on what I heard we are going to need more heroes for this crisis."
Old Man Oliver thinks about the offer for a second before answering.
"Uh...sure..I'll...help in any way I can." Oliver nods, joining the group as they go through the breach.
