I realize they are moving quite fast, I tried to not have it happen but it all just came out and I liked how Meredith was evolved. I hope you enjoy this chapter. I needed a filler and came up with this. Again I do not own anything.
Chapter 5
Arizona
It was dark and the smell of dirt and blood was stuck in my senses, I hear someone moaning beside me. Opening my eyes I see Mark, lying next to me, his face was bloody and bruised. I try to move so I can check on him, but my leg, oh my god my leg. "Mark, what's going on?" I ask
"the plane crashed" I barely heard him, he was breathing so heavy
"the what?"
"the plane" he looks at me "it crashed" his breathing is shallow, and he starts to shake "blondie, take care of my girls" he breathes out
"no Mark, no, we are both going home, Sofia needs us, Callie needs us" 'oh god Callie' I feel my eyes start to sting with tears 'I have to be strong, I'm a good man in a storm' "Mark" I say again, trying to move closer to him, but my leg hurts so bad. "I have to go Lexie is waiting for me" he says "Lexie I'm coming" he whispered, I am now close enough to grab his hand "Arizona" he says, he never uses my first name "please take care of my girls, they need you"
"no Mark" I say tears start flowing down my face now "Mark, Mark"
"Arizona" I hear Callie's voice, and feel her shake me. "Arizona, honey wake up"
"Mark" I say once more as my vision becomes clear, I'm in my house, in my bed, and I'm sweating. "honey, you were having a bad dream"
"Calliope" I say tears steaming down my face, as she pulls me close, kissing my cheek "shh it's ok, it was just a dream"
"it's not just a dream, he's gone" I break down in her arms as she whispers soothing words in my ear.

Callie
I woke up to Arizona thrashing around in bed, calling out Mark's name, it took me a bit to realize she was having a nightmare about the plane crash, I quickly roll over wrapping my arms around her "Arizona" I call out but got no reply so I try again "Arizona" this time her eyes open "Mark" I hear her voice crack, as tears stream down her face. She hadn't had a nightmare in a long time, as far as I knew. Not since I've been back, and sleeping next to her. "honey, it was just a dream" I pull her into me I hear her say my name, or what I think is my name, with the sobs it was hard to tell. "shh, it was just a dream" I whisper in her ear
"it wasn't just a dream he's gone" she says and breaks down. It took all I had to calm her down, once she stopped crying, she fell back to sleep. I lay back, placing her head on my chest, as tears fill my eyes. I really missed Mark, I often wondered what would have happened had he not died. Pushing the thoughts to the back of my mind, I couldn't go there, not tonight, Arizona needed me. I close my eyes seeing Mark's face, he was holding Sofia as I was kicking him out of my apartment like I often did.

I woke up as the sun light came through the window. Sometimes I hated that my bedroom window faced the east, especially when I didn't have to be up early. I let out a groan, trying to break free from Callie's grip, moving her arm I feel her lift her head up "hey, you ok?" she asked in a sleepy voice
"yeah, just have to pee" I say moving myself to the edge of the bed, reaching for my crutch, I wasn't ready to put my leg on yet. My plan was to relieve my bladder than climb back into bed with my fiancée. I get myself into the bathroom and sat on the toilet, to do my business. My mind still on the nightmare I had, it was playing over in my head, taking a deep breath to try and clear the images I had in it, I reach back flushing the toilet forgetting I didn't have my prosthetic on as I stand, I fall face first into the side of the tub.

Hearing a noise come out of the bathroom, "shit" I jump out of bed running into the bathroom "Arizona" I don't hear anything "shit, fuck" I rush to her side, she has a gash in her forehead, almost in the same spot she had after the car accident "fuck" I quickly roll her onto her back, checking for a pulse, which I find, and see that she's breathing, but her eyes were closed "Arizona, wake up" I shake her but nothing. "fuck, fuck, fuck" I say running into the bedroom grabbing my phone, quickly dialing the number I had hoped I'd never have to dial "911 what's your emergency" I hear over the phone
"my wife fell and hit her head on the side of the tub"
"is she conscious?" the woman's voice asked
"no that's why I'm calling you" I snap, taking a deep breath "sorry I'm a doctor"
"Torres is that you?" the woman asked
"yes"
"is Arizona ok?"
"no, I just said she fell and hit her head, send someone now" I recognized the voice on the other end, sending up a silent prayer that it was her who answered, and I didn't have to give the address "they're on they're way"
"thanks" I say grabbing some towels to prop Arizona's head up. I go back into the bedroom throw on some clothes quick, opening the bedroom door "Sofia" I call through the house
"yes mommy" I hear from downstairs
"when someone comes to the door answer it"
"what's wrong mommy"
"momma fell and hit her head"
"momma" I hear my daughter cry, cursing myself I shouldn't have said anything now she's going to be freaking out "it's ok honey, just answer the door when they get here ok"
"ok mommy" my daughter says "they're here" she calls out "that was quick" I let out a sigh, grabbing the sheet off the bed, I toss it around Arizona, there's no way she'd want everyone to see her naked. "Torres what do we got" Ben says walking in the bathroom
"I'm not sure what happened, my best guess would be she forgot she didn't have her leg on, and went to stand" I say backing off thanking god it was Ben who came in first "vitals are good" I hear the other firefighter I know as Montgomery say as he places a neck brace on her and they roll her onto the back board "do you and Sofia wanna ride with us?"
"yes" I say rushing down the stairs "Sofia honey come on"
"is momma ok?"
"she will be" Ben says "come on let's get her to the hospital so they can fix her up"
"ok" my little girl says as we both climb into the aid car, again I send up a silent prayer that it was the 19 crew that came to our rescue. It didn't take long, we were pulling up outside Grey Sloan, and the back doors open, they wheel Arizona out. And into the hospital "Torres" I hear Alex say, I just turn to look at him, with Sofia's hand in mine "what happened?"
"I don't really know" I say following him into the emergency department where April was beginning to do her assessment of her. "she went into the bathroom, with her crutch"
"ok, got it" Alex nodded knowing exactly what happened now "what'd she hit?"
"the side of the tub, I think" I say, the tears were starting to flow down my face now
"hey little lady, why don't you come with me while the doctors look at your momma" I hear Alex say and see him walk away with Sofia's hand in his. I head into the trauma room "Torres you can't be here" Owen says
"I know" I say through the tears "I, I just can't lose her again"
"you're not going to lose her, but you need to let us work, go find Karev and your daughter and sit with them" Owen says in his stern voice
"yeah that's not happening" I say leaning against the wall
"Torres" he says again as the monitors start going off "page Shepard" April calls
"fuck" I say through my tears
"Torres, move" Owen says again, I close my eyes and turn to leave the room. I couldn't see this right now, I take a deep breath and head in the direction I saw Alex lead Sofia, finding them in the waiting room, I sit down next to them "how's momma?"
"I don't know" I put my head in my hands, letting out a deep sigh
"do you want me to go see?" Alex asked "I know how Hunt is, he isn't going to let you near her"
"yes" is all I can get out. I watch as he stands and makes his way back into the ER.

I hear the familiar beeping of the machines, knowing instantly where I am. 'fuck I forgot I wasn't wearing my leg and fell' my head starts pounding 'must have hit my head, bad' I slowly open my eyes, seeing Callie and Sofia sitting next to the bed. "hey beautiful" I hear Callie's sweet voice say
"what happened?" I ask groggily even though I already knew
"you fell and hit your head on the side of the tub"
"explains why my head hurts" I reach up to touch my head
"you'll have another scar" Callie frowns
"momma" Sofia says "we were so scared"
"I'm sorry baby" I move in the bed "come here" I watch as Sofia climbs up on the bed hugging me "I'm sorry I scared you, I forgot I wasn't wearing my leg"
"it's ok momma, just don't do it again" Sofia scolds me, shaking my head I look at Callie "so how bad is it?"
"not too bad, you got some stitches on your forehead" I see Callie look down she had yet to make eye contact with me "Cal, hey" I say quietly
"Sofia can you go find Uncle Alex" Callie says as our daughter nods hopping off the bed and running out the door. "what's up?" I ask again
"you coded in the ER"
"coded" I lay my head back "is there?"
"everything is fine, they don't know what happened, Amelia said sometimes that happens" she started to say I cut her off "I know" I let out a sigh "but everything?"
"you're good, just a concussion, she wants you to stay here until tomorrow to make sure everything is good"
"thank god" I let out in a sigh, I hear her start to sob "Calliope" I say softly holding out my arms for her to come closer "come here" I pull her into my arms kissing her forehead, closing my eyes the pain in my head was making me dizzy. "I'm ok"
"Arizona, you were laying there unconscious on our bathroom floor"
"I know I'm sorry, my mind was elsewhere and I forgot I wasn't wearing my leg"
"do you remember waking up in the middle of the night?"
"yeah" I let out in a breath, trying not to think about the dream I had. Just then Alex walks in with Amelia, and Sofia.
"is my momma going to be ok?" Sofia asks
"yes, but she needs to stay here until tomorrow" Amelia said addressing my daughter
"ok good" Sofia says running to Callie
"I called Mer, she's off today she said she'd take her" Alex said, touching Callie's shoulder
"thanks Alex" Callie says
"Arizona how are you feeling?" Amelia asks
"my head hurts"
"I bet it does" she laughs, as she shines a light in my eyes "you're good otherwise, I just want to make sure, so I'm keeping you until tomorrow"
"fine" I let out in a frustrated groan "but you better send Kepner up here so we can go over wedding plans"
"Arizona" Callie starts to say
"you want me to take it easy?" I ask seeing her nod "then that's what it will take, I can't sit here doing nothing"
"I'll call Kepner" Alex said pulling out his phone
"good" I say leaning my head back onto the pillow.

Once April had gotten there, I went to get some coffee, I needed something to keep my mind off what had happened. Seeing Arizona sitting in that bed, brought back so many memories of after the plane crash, which ironically was what she had a nightmare about the night before. "Torres" I hear that deep voice boom out
"hi chief" I give him a half smile
"I'm not the chief" Richard says in a laugh, all of us attending's still called him that.
"sorry" I say taking a drink of my coffee
"it's ok" he nods "how is she?"
"she'll be fine, has to stay until tomorrow" he nods "she's gonna have another scar on her forehead she's gonna love that, especially with the wedding coming"
"she's tough she'll be fine, plus there's this thing called make up" he laughs
"yeah" I force a laugh
"Torres" he says, I look up at him "what's going on?"
"she woke up in the middle of the night calling out Mark's name" I let out in a sigh, I see him nod "everything was going so good, I should have known something would happen"
"hey, she's ok, just a concussion, and stitches on her forehead, she'll be back to driving you crazy in no time"
"thanks" I smile "Kepner is with her now, they're going over wedding plans"
"it's coming quick" he says as we start to walk.
"it is" I smile a genuine smile for the first time since hearing Arizona fall.
"you two" he shakes his head with a smile "I look at both of you, and I can't help but smile, you've always been so in love with each other, I know you've both gone through so much, but next to each other is where you belong"
"thanks" I smile again "I should get back, I think I should have some say in what happens at my wedding"
"good luck with that" he pulls me in for a hug "right" I laugh hugging him back, not realizing at that moment that was exactly what I needed.

I had to take the rest of the week off, not by choice, I spent that time mostly with April, getting everything together, by Friday we had everything set, with little to none of Callie's input. She was the one after all who wanted April to plan it. We spent the weekend sitting around the house, Callie wanted to make sure my head was clear before going anywhere. I kept telling her I was fine, but she refused to let me out of her sight.
Finally, back at work on Monday, I wasn't cleared for surgery yet, but I could still do consults.
April sent a text saying I should check my email; apparently she had just sent one that needed my attention. She really was taking this wedding planning thing seriously. We had decided on an indoor venue, with the weather in Seattle being mostly rain. I set my phone down on my desk and turn to my computer. Clicking around I open the email, Callie and I had decided on letting her pick the date. It was coming up quick, another week, and Calliope and I would be married again. I can't believe how fast the time went, when April said to do it soon, and picked a date, I had no idea how fast the 6 months would go. Looking at the email, it had a picture of Sofia's dress too, she would be the flower girl, although she said she was too old to be called the flower girl, we just laughed at our daughter telling her either way she would be walking down the aisle before us. Teddy's flight was due in this afternoon, I had offered to pick her up at the airport. I was excited to see my friend again, it had been too long. I was secretly hoping she would decide to stay. Clicking on the email April had sent, I see it's a picture of my dress, I had let her pick it out for me. I type out a quick reply then close the browser, noting the time, I had to get going traffic this time of day was a bitch, especially heading in the direction of the airport. And of course it was raining, hopefully that didn't cause the flight to be late. I stand from my desk, head over to the coat rack I had in my office, taking off my white coat and replacing it with my black one, Callie had got it for me a long time ago, I tried throwing it out a few times, buying new ones, but I always went back to it. It was warm and cozy, just like I feel in Callie's arms. I reach for my purse and left my office making sure the door was locked, I head to the elevator, pushing the button I wait. When the doors finally open, my heart stops, as the love of my life was standing inside looking at her phone. "hey you" I smile
"hey" I see her lock her phone and shove it into the pocket of her white coat "you headed to get Teddy"
"I am" I smile moving closer to my fiancée placing a kiss on her lips "I've missed you today, you were gone before I got up" she says
"yeah I wanted to get in early since I'm leaving early" I smile
"how's your head" she reached up running her thumb softly over my stitches
"I'm good" I smile
"hmm" Callie hums "I'll see you at home, I'm headed into surgery" she kisses me again as the doors open "I love you"
"I love you" I smile watching as she stepped off the elevator, not taking my eyes of her until the doors closed, a smile on my face as I rode the elevator to the main floor.

I was drilling into a hip I was replacing; my music filled the room; I was completely in my element. This OR was my favorite, my favorite scrub nurse standing beside me, I was getting married in less than a week, to the love of my life, my daughter was happy and healthy. My life was perfect, for the first time in, I didn't remember how long, I was happy, totally and completely 100% happy. Happy, damn this felt good, a smile on my face, I finish up. Arizona was picking up Teddy from the airport, and I had plans to go home and do a whole lot of nothing. I was in the scrub room scrubbing out when in walks Meredith I see her smile "good you're still here"
"yup" I reach for a towel to dry my hands
"come on" she says then pulls me out of the room with her
Yet again we end up at Joe's, Mer had a tray full of shots on the table "ugh" I groan I didn't really want to drink, all I wanted to do was go home. "oh come on, you're getting married next week we need to celebrate"
"ugh, fine" I give in, reaching for a shot, I see her reach for one too "to calzona" she says, I give her a look "calzona?"
"mmhmm" she smiles "it's your name put together"
"hmm" I hum tossing the shot back

Teddy and I picked up Sofia from school and now were having dinner, at one of Sofia's favorite restaurants. Ironically, it was Teddy's too, I laughed when she said that, I think she was more excited than Sofia when we pulled up. Sitting there waiting for our food Teddy was coloring the children's menu with Sofia. "Aunt Teddy are you here for the wedding?"
"I am" I see a smile on Teddy's face, I know it's because Sofia just called her Aunt Teddy
"I can't wait" my daughter starts jumping up in down in the booth, I see Teddy bounce as the booth moves.
"I can't either" Teddy says "your mom's are endgame"
"what's endgame?" Sofia asked not looking away from the page she was coloring on, I smile, as Teddy looks up to me, the look in her eyes told me she didn't know how to explain it "it means we'll be together forever" I say helping out my friend.
"I've always known that" Sofia says "mommy has always loved you, even when we lived with Penny" Teddy's eyes dart back to me "she even had a picture of you hidden in her underwear drawer, I found it once" Sofia still didn't look up. Teddy let out a small laugh, I just shook my head "I think it was from when you got married before" the little girl went on "yes, it was, it's the same picture you have hidden on your desk at work" a blush formed on my face, as Teddy's eyes went wide. I did not realize Sofia knew about that it was hidden in the back behind my computer monitor and she hasn't been in my office that much "you have a picture on your desk?" Teddy laughed
"yeah" I say looking away, feeling my face turn red
"my mom's are endgame" Sofia says, still not taking her eyes off her coloring
"hmm" I say looking my daughter over, I reach for my drink taking a sip.

I stumble in the house, trying to be as quiet as possible, I kick off my shoes by the door, I end up knocking over a lamp. I still had to learn where everything was, Arizona had left a light on, but it didn't do much good. I stub my toe on another end table "ouch, got dammit" I curse, then cringe hoping that wasn't too loud, but it hurt like a bitch and was going to be worse in the morning, I limp my way to the steps, "ouch dammit" I mumble to myself as I climb the stairs. Finally making it to the bedroom door, I see a light coming from under. I smile knowing Arizona waited up for me. I hadn't even told her we were going out after work, cursing myself hoping she wasn't going to freak out. I slowly open the door, I see my beautiful blonde sitting up in bed, her laptop in her lap. My heart starts to flutter when I hear her say "hey"
"um, hi" I say moving my gaze to the floor, making my way into the adjoining bathroom.
Stubbing my toe again on the toilet "dammit" Arizona must have heard me because the next thing I knew I hear her voice "are you ok?"
"yeah" I whisper looking at her, she was wearing a pink tank top, with no bra, I could see her perky nipples through the thin fabric. "my eyes are up here Calliope" I hear her say in a laugh. I feel my face turning red, I dart my eyes back to the floor, 'why was I feeling guilty for checking out my fiancée?' I let out a muffled "sorry"

I heard the front door open, knowing it was Callie, I just sat there with my laptop scrolling through another email Kepner had sent. I hear a noise, figuring she'd knocked something over. Glancing up from the laptop "hey" I smile, I hear her mumble something then head into the bathroom, hearing some more mumbling, I reach for my leg, putting it on. My arms still wrapped around her I lead her out of the small room and over to the bed. "Arizona" I hear her whisper my name

"I love you too" I smile, climbing on top of her, she swiftly flips us over, and before I know it she has my leg off and is kissing her way up my other. "I don't think so" I say holding out my phone, the message was a picture of the two of them eating ice cream "why is she letting our daughter have ice cream this early?"
"because she's aunt Teddy" I smile typing out a quick reply, then toss my phone down on the bed. Looking at Callie "what do you say we go grab some food, then our daughter?"
"I am hungry" I hear her say then feel her arms wraps around me "someone used up all the energy I had"
"hmm" I smile feeling her kiss my cheek "let's go" I move out of her embrace and head for the door.
In the car my phone rings, seeing it's my mom I hit the answer button on the steering wheel "hi mom" I smile
"Zona honey, I was just making sure you remember our flight gets in at 7" I hear Callie laugh and say "I remembered Barbra one of us will be there to get you"
"oh Callie honey, I thought I called Arizona"
"you did mom, we're in the car, you're on speaker" I went the easiest way to explain it
"oh ok" I hear some shuffling on the line and say "mom, Callie and I will be there to pick you up don't worry"
"ok honey, I can't wait to see you"
"I can't either" I realize then it had been way too long since I've seen my parents "ok honey I'll see you later, I love you"
"love you too" I say before I hit the button I hear my mom say "Callie I love you too" Callie smiles "love you too Barbra" I hit the button on the wheel and smile "she's always loved you"
"I know" Callie smiled a nervous smile
"don't be nervous, they've always known I love you"
"I know but" Callie was fidgeting with her hands in the seat I reach over covering her hands "I broke you, I told them I wouldn't break you, and yet I"
"stop" I say softly "it's in the past, we're here, we're happy, we're healthy, and we're getting married" I see a smile grace her face as I say "hopefully my dad doesn't make us call him The Colonel again"
"yeah" she laughs, my mind starts replaying the day before our first wedding.

Sitting at the table, our version of a rehearsal dinner. My parents, Callie's parents, and Mark. He was never far away, which sometimes annoyed me, but more often than not he was a life saver. I could tell my dad was getting annoyed that he was part of this, but with the help of Carlos, we just looked past it. I hear Carlos's voice "so Colonel, do you ever go by anything but Colonel?"
"The Colonel" my father says, causing my mom and I to shake our heads, and let out a small laugh. Sofia cries from her crib, I see Callie wipe her mouth with her napkin "I'll get her" she comes back a minute later holding our baby girl. "mom, you want to hold her?"
"no I'm eating" I hear the older Latina say, my eyes met Callie's I could see the hurt in them, I give her a small smile, and she sits down.

Callie
Pulling up to a park, Teddy had taken Sofia to, Arizona meets me at the front of the car, taking my hand. I see Teddy pushing Sofia on a swing, and hear my daughter call out "higher Aunt Teddy, higher" smiling at the sound of Sofia's giggles. Arizona leans into me "there's nothing that is better than hearing that giggle"
"I can think of something" I smile, knowing her face was going to turn red, as she turns toward me, I whisper "you calling out my name" I smile place a quick kiss on her lips, and walk away to where my daughter was. At the moment she sees us and hops off the swing "mommys" she runs into me almost knocking me over. Arizona must have composed her self as I hear her next to me "did you have fun with Aunt Teddy?"
"the best, we stayed up late telling ghost stories" Arizona looks up at the other blonde woman "what? I didn't tell her anything scary"
"if she can't sleep tonight I'm sending her back to you" I hear my soon to be wife scold her friend
"yes, I get to stay with Aunt Teddy again" Sofia exclaims jumping up and down
"no honey, you need to be home with us, we have a lot to do in the next few days" I say, seeing the little girl melt with disappointment
"you can come stay with me after I get my own place" Teddy smiles, I look at the woman, then over to Arizona who shrugged.

Arizona
Sitting at a picnic table, Meredith had shown up with her family. "so you care to elaborate more on what you promised my daughter" I ask quietly, Meredith and Callie were in their own little world talking about something, I couldn't hear.
"well um" she looks up at me "Bailey contacted me asking if I was coming to the wedding"
"ok" I say confused "but what does that have to do with"
"she offered me head of trauma" Teddy cut me off
"head of trauma?" I say confused "what about Owen?" I was so confused, Owen was the current head of trauma "is he leaving?" I see Teddy shrug, but I can tell she knows something. "Theodora" I say hoping the use of her full name would work, like it does on Callie. "I can't say anything just yet" she says not making eye contact with me. "hmm" I let out in a hum, I'll get to the bottom of this one way or another. I'm Arizona Robbins, I find shit out. The sound of a beeper goes off "whose is it?" I hear Callie's voice. Meredith looks down and groans "mine"
"go we'll make take care of the kids" Callie smiles
"hey kids" Meredith calls "I just got paged in"
"but mom I don't wanna go yet" the little blonde haired boy whines
"you don't have to, but be good for your aunties" she says
"ok" all three of her kids say in unison as they head back towards the jungle gym.
"so now that we are stuck here for a while, why don't we get some lunch" Callie says pulling out her phone. I feel my phone vibrate in my pocket pulling it out i see the notification for a new text message. Clicking on it I see Callie's name, clicking on the message I see a picture of me smiling 'I can't wait to rip that shirt off you' the caption read. I smile, as I lock my phone, setting it down on the table "you're such a dork" Callie just smiles at me, causing Teddy to shake her head.

Callie
The next few days went by in a whirlwind, between being paged into work and Kepner and her wedding planning, Arizona and I had both been busy, not leaving much time to do anything but sleep. I had just gotten home from a long emergency surgery, a 38-year-old crashed his motorcycle, luckily I was able to fix everything he had broke. I walk into our bedroom, seeing Arizona a sleep, I take a moment to admire my girl. She rolled over, I see she's wearing that pink top again, her breast almost popping out. She should know better than to wear a tank top to bed, she always wakes up in the morning with one boob out of it. However to my disappointment that hadn't happen yet. I shake my head to clear the thoughts and quietly make my way to the bathroom, I was in desperate need of a shower. I make quick work of the shower, pulling on my pajamas, I climb into the bed wrapping my arms around the sleeping blonde. I feel her stir then hear groggily say "you're home"
"I am" I smile and kiss her head as she snuggles in closer, I close my eyes, willing myself to sleep the next two days were going to be full on.

Arizona
Waking up with Callie's arms wrapped around me, I smile as I scoot in closer, and I feel her arms wrap tighter around me, then feel her lips on my temple "good morning"
"hmmm, good morning" I hum
"only one more day" she whispers
"then I get to call you my wife" I smile, turning around in her arms
"I like the sound of that" she leans in to kiss me, as the door flies open and Sofia came running in jumping on the bed "one more day" she sings
"yes baby one more day" Callie smiles at out daughter who is making herself comfy in between us. I groan hearing my phone ping "I'm going to kill her"
"one more day" Callie kisses my cheek and climbs out of bed "come on Sof, lets make breakfast"
"pancakes" the little girl jumped off the bed and ran out of the room.
