Hello everyone. So I decided to update this chapter a bit earlier. I was planning to post this around the weekend, but I'll be busy during that time. Anyway, enjoy.
But first:
1049 - Arguement? Maybe. About their brother? Not so sure.
Von the Unstoppable - Well, you're here now for that, so get ready.
A random guy - Thanks for having interest in the story. And about that last part, I'll be thinking about it, since it's all about the main character from the same title.
NiteOwl18 - Thanks again. Although his profile is already made. You can check it out in my bio page.
Okay, enjoy.
Earlier, before heading to the Black Bunker…
Inside his room of the Loud residence, Lincoln is searching for an attire for his vigilante persona. One thing that Hudson didn't teach him is costume. Hiding his vigilante persona will be also the important part to him. Also, the other costume that he wore before was torn apart by Charles.
Apparently, he didn't find anything that would suit his style for his vigilante costume. So, Lincoln went to the attic instead. Hoping he would find something to use. As he went in, he saw numerous boxes that has were labeled 'old clothes/hand-me downs'.
Lincoln didn't waste time as he went to every box, hoping to find a suitable costume inside. Later, as the clothes were scattered in the floor which he didn't agree on, he stopped searching inside the last box at the corner, and found that something that will suit him best.
He found what seems to be a white tracksuit and a pair of black pants. "This will do." He said, agreeing to his choice of attire he grabbed.
Next, in his room, Lincoln's watching a tutorial video in his laptop. As the man who's in the tutorial video teaching how to do what his doing, Lincoln was busy as he followed what the video says. On the table aside from the laptop was his suit, which has some other designs put into it.
He was actually trying to connect a pair of googles on a two-hole ski mask that he found. The googles were removed from a very expensive sci-fi helmet that he has on his closet, which looks like a collector's item. Since the helmet itself can't fit on his head, he decided to make his own mask.
He was also struggling to place it hot glue. His face was tensed and put all his focus to make his mask. Another thing is that it's almost complete, where he just left the hot glue to dry on his new mask.
Lincoln sighed in relief, as he already completed making his mask. Letting out his breath as he was done, he smiled to see how it looked as he grabbed it to observe it.
Later that night, everyone was now fast asleep. Of course, the sisters complained earlier about it since it's Friday. But they don't have a choice. As all the doors closed and the lights turned off, Lincoln used this advantage to leave the house quietly without making a sound.
Once he's outside, he received a text from Hudson that he needs to be there in the Black Bunker immediately since he has a new task for him. The white-haired boy understood the message and just do what he told to do. He started to make his way to meet Hudson, by sprinting.
Tonight, was his night to go out and fight crime. For the first time.
WHITE RAPTOR
CHAPTER 7
DEALING THE NIGHT
A delivery truck is driving at night, as it was heading to a large warehouse somewhere located somewhere from in Bailey Avenue. As the truck stopped at outside the warehouse, the same six, armed robber that are known for robbing every place in Royal Woods without getting caught, got out from the truck and prepare themselves to grab some important parts.
"Will call you if the area's clear." The first armed robber instructed, and received a nod from the driver as a response.
As the five, armed robbers marched their way to the warehouse, two robbers where the first to shoot three or four security guards when they spotted them. Next, they also took out the security cameras outside. As the armed robbers made their way inside the warehouse, they realized that no one wasn't even guarding the interior of the warehouse. It just made their job easier.
"Huh. Looks like no one's even guarding inside the warehouse." One armed robber wielding a shotgun cackled in delight. He pointed at another armed robber. "You. Open the doors."
As the second member, followed, he made his way to the control room, which is actually at the center of the warehouse, but it wasn't far away from the entrance. As the doors opened, the second armed robber grabbed his pager to inform someone. "Alright, doors open. You can get the truck in."
"Copy that." The driver responded as he started the ignition on of the truck. The driver drove the truck backwards when it already arrived, so he can let the others grabbed whatever they'll steal inside the warehouse easily.
"So, what again exactly do we need a truck for?" the third armed robber asked, who was clueless. "I still don't really understand the whole thing in this job of ours again."
"Thanks for reminding me. Looks like you weren't an idiot after all." The first armed robber insulted as he stepped forward in front of them as he starts to explain. This indicates him as the leader of the crew.
"This is going to be a simple job, boys. And by that I mean, it's going to be a quick and fast one. Three weeks ago, all the money that we all stole during our 'caught-less looting' were now gone, all because of some maniac who burned all of it."
The other robber murmured each other about the incident. "I know, I know, some of you wanted him dead, but don't worry, I made sure that happened. Considered that as an accident." He chuckled at what he did. "We're here 'cause I made a call with a client, who can give us five million dollars by just selling some military weapons in this warehouse. Once it's done, we'll sell them to the black market and we'll be rich." He finished explaining. "Get all that?"
All the armed robbers agreed with each other, and the plan altogether.
"Good. Now start loading up some weapons in the truck." The lead robber started, as the other robbers start their part. "Remember boys, anything you see that looks powerful or has a lot of firepower, take it. It'll double our pay."
The robbers searched in every box in every aisle that was stocked inside the warehouse. There were a lot of weapons that are deemed indestructible, or something that can kill a hero if they ever come in Royal Woods. Some the robbers found sonic cannons, sentry guns, anti-gravitational guns, and plasma disintegrators. The robbers were this lucky to be rich any time soon, since they're stealing military weapons.
The fourth armed robber opened a crate with a sonic cannon inside. "Ooh, baby! We're gonna be rich alright!" he gleefully said, as he and the fifth robber carried the crate back to the delivery truck.
Elsewhere, a mysterious, shadowed figure grappled his way into the sky as he landed at the top of the warehouse. It was also hard to tell what the figure was wearing due to the dark. He peaked his head from the top as he noticed the delivery truck parked at the garage door. The shadowed figure grappled his way to find out what else is happening.
Meanwhile, the driver was busy as he kept a good eye on the open area, to make sure if the RWP are about to approach to their destination soon. Suddenly, he heard a sound coming from the truck's roof.
"What the…" he asked himself as he grabbed his gun and jumped out of the truck. He looked on top of the roof to see if anyone was there. Instead, he didn't hesitate to aim his gun at his surroundings.
The driver walked pass by the other side of the truck as he aimed his weapon, to no one or nothing at all. The driver sighed in relief, "Must be a rat or something." He nonchalantly said as he headed back to the driver's seat, only to jump back as he approached at to the same figure.
The shadowed figure knocked the driver's hand away, which also had his weapon knocked away from his hand. He was then struck by an escrima stick, knocking him out cold. The shadowed figure observed the truck, followed by the dead security guards, and the cameras all destroyed. He felt sorry for the dead security guards, and move on to his mission.
As the figure sneaked his way inside the warehouse, he realized that the area was clear. He didn't waste time as he observed the truck's interior, and witnessed that the truck is half loaded with the weapon crates that the armed robbers obtained.
While the figure is observing the truck, someone was coming to the delivery truck. The figure grappled his way on the ceiling, as he observed the fifth robber placing another crate inside.
Luckily, the fifth armed robber didn't catch him red handed. As he observes the warehouse for way to stop them, the figure noticed the control panels and it wasn't that far away from him. He hummed to himself, and had an idea.
While the armed robbers are still checking out on some of the crates in every aisle, the fourth and second robbers are seen checking at a sentry gun, that has four guns on each side, and has a laser pointer on the middle. They were both amazed of the design.
"Check this out." The third robber spoke. "This weapon right here, is like a dog you never had."
"Yeah." The fourth robber responded. "I wish we can just keep one of these to ourselves. I mean, we need some bigger guns to, you know." He reasoned.
"Nah. We don't need that." The third robber denied, but afterwards, he went back to think about it. "Or do we?"
Suddenly, all the lights in the warehouse shut off immediately. The two robbers can't able to see in the dark, but they managed to turn on the flashlights from their guns. "Oh, shit. That almost made me jumped." The third robber was afraid when it happened. "How are the rest holding up?"
"Hold on. I'll check." The fourth robber started to talk on his pager. "Hello? Anyone? Can you read me?"
The lead robber, who has his flashlight on, responded back to the pager from the other robber. "Relax, fellas. It could be a power surge or something." He pondered. "The warehouse has a backup light, so it'll open soon. But we still need to get those crates into the truck. Let's not waste time, boys."
A loud sound was heard, which echoed in the entire room. The lead robber was alerted fast by the noise, but he didn't catch whoever did it behind his back, or at front of him.
"Huh?" the lead robber was nervous, but he aimed his weapon in defense. "Who's there! Show yourself!" he shouted in anger. "I'm not afraid to shot you, so come out now! And face me!" Elsewhere, the other robbers were aiming their weapons too, as they are ready to shoot whoever is there.
"Oh sure, I'll be facing you anytime when I want." The voice said. The third robber was getting nervous as he kept walking very slowly to watch himself. "But there's just one problem to all this, guys. None of you aren't really gonna get out of here in safe hands."
The whole warehouse echoed as another armed robber, possibly the fifth one and who was also far away from another aisle, opened fired in the dark. As the first gunshot was heard, the sound of fists punching to another and metal clanging are heard next. Afterwards, it was silent again. This could only mean that the fifth robber was already beaten.
The lights went back on. The third robber was now scared, while he was holding his gun nervously and shakily. The robber really wanted to shoot his gun to relax himself down. But he was about to calm down a bit since nothing happened after a few seconds. Until, he got his weapon snatched away from the ceiling.
"Hey." The figure greeted confidently, receiving a scream of fear when he was caught. How did he made it to where he where he was at? How did he survive from the gun's rapid fire? He leaped from the ceiling and stand in front of the robber as he delivered two punches to the body, and followed by an electric stun after striking his escrima stick at him.
The figure is actually Lincoln Loud, who's wearing his homemade vigilante costume. The white jacket he took from the attic has an imprinted logo of a basketball team called 'The Raiding Raptors'. His black pants had a pair of holsters stitched on the sides of it, indicating that they're for the batons. He even wore a pair of black and white striped boots. And lastly his mask. The two-eye holed mask has a pair of google on the eye pieces that he did earlier. The googles also covered up his eyes, but he can see through it.
Lincoln walked his way to the third robber he attacked, who regained consciousness. He pinned him to the floor after he was turned over to face the floor flat. "How many are you in the warehouse? I don't wanna beat you senseless for answers."
Suddenly, the fourth robber yelled, pointing his gun at him. "Over here, dumbass!" he shouted as he fired a shotgun round at him, but Lincoln managed to grapple away, hiding back at the ceiling.
The fourth robber came to his aid. "What happened? Did you get him?"
"No, I didn't! He managed to escape!" the fourth robber stated. "Come on, we'll find him ourselves. Besides, how hard it is to shoot a kid in a costume?"
While the robbers are searching for him, Lincoln sprinted his way when he landed on the empty top of the shelves without being heard. As he got closer from behind him, Lincoln grappled the robber's shotgun, disarming him in the process. As he landed in front of him, Lincoln gave him two electric strikes from his Boom Sticks, and delivered a spinning hook kick, throwing him off immediately at a shelf.
In front of the white-haired vigilante, the second robber noticed how skilled his fighting was. "You got good skills, kid. But I'll play fair." He placed his submachine gun on the ground, and put himself in a fighting stance. "But I'm also good at fighting. Watch me." The fourth obviously wanted to play fair, but it will all depend if he's going to get a beat down.
The second robber charged at him as Lincoln countered his attack by jumping across his back. Then, Lincoln, who placed back his Boom Sticks on the holsters, was met with a front kick, but he regained his focus after he managed to dodge the robber's punches. Lincoln grabbed hold on the robber's fist as he delivered a hook jab, causing him to get blinded by the impact. Then, Lincoln repeated punched him on the stomach, and front kicked him, falling to the ground.
Tired from the fight, Lincoln breathed in and out. "So… who's next?" he asked himself.
"I'm next up, you little brat!" That answered his question. The voice came from the lead robber as he was aiming his gun at him. The white-haired vigilante turned around to see him, face to face. "I bet your looking for the man who was leading them here." He informed. "Well…" he chuckled. "I'm here now. Take your best shot."
Remembering the same scene from the third robber, Lincoln draw out his Boom Sticks immediately, as he didn't disarmed the weapon from the lead robber's hand, but grappled the lead robber at him, but he was immediately punch on the face, loosing focus.
The lead robber then put on his best fighting skills at the white-haired vigilante. Despite his skilled fighting, he was even a dirty player. The lead robber grabbed his arm and punched his stomach three times, followed by another at his arm. The lead robber grabbed a knife from his pocket as he prepares to stab him.
Lincoln rapidly regained his focus back as he dodged the knife towards him. As the lead robber missed, he was met with a headbutt, which made his forehead ache in pain and dropping the knife. Lincoln delivered four punches to the upper body, two of his Boom Sticks electrocuting him on his neck, and delivered a hard punch to the face, leaving him a black eye.
The lead robber, laying on the ground in defeat, was now in a lot of pain, due to the many blows on his stomach and the painful sensation on his face. He tried to grabbed his gun beside him, but his arm was locked by Lincoln's foot, crushing a bit of it as he let out a painful yell.
"Sorry to do this man, but I left you no choice." Lincoln addressed. "Also, this isn't the time for playing with your toys." He kicked the gun away. "We need to talk. Stealing in a warehouse like this? Man, this is a lot for you to handle."
"Who – Who are you?" The lead robber asked weakly and painfully.
Lincoln was about to answer, but a few police sirens were heard outside from the warehouse. He paused at what he was about to do, and glanced at the sound of police vehicles being parked outside and the doors opening. The lead robber then passed out from the pain afterwards.
Outside, the RWP prepared their weapons as the stormed inside the warehouse with their guns up and their faces ready to shoot. All of them paused for a second after they realized that all the robbers were beaten down to the ground. They were late to arrive in the scene. But they all prepare to arrest all of them.
The Next Day…
As the sun was already risen from the sky, Lincoln was on his bed, fast asleep and snoring. This could only mean that he didn't really get that much sleep after from last night's events. He even felt so tired, he couldn't wake up by the sun's light. Another thing is that he was on his sleeping attire, and he also sweaty which surely left his blankets and pillows all covered by his sweat.
A knock was heard from the door. "Five more minutes." Lincoln tiredly said, as he turned to the other side of his bed to get comfortable.
"Lincoln, wake up! It's time for breakfast!" the voice came from her younger sister.
"Can it wait, Lola? I'm really tired, and I can't even move a muscle." He replied back as he tried to go back to bed. Lola still knocked the door over and over, much to the boy's chagrin.
"Okay, okay! I'm up already! I'll be there in a few minutes." Lincoln yelled. He can hear Lola's footsteps walking down back to the kitchen. Finally, some little peace and quiet before starting the day.
Lincoln rubbed his eyes to get a clear vision after his sleep. He noticed that his hands were covered and smudged with dirt, and knuckles are a bit bruised too. He recalled back he managed to stop all five, armed robbers in a warehouse by himself. He noticed that he's shirt was covered with little of his sweat. He looked at his desk to see that his Boom Sticks and costume were on it.
He even remembered how he got home in the first place. He hoped that his family were all fast asleep, so he decided not to disturb them, by slipping inside the open window of his bedroom. He didn't have a choice. If he ever walked in the front door, it would alert either his everyone or their pet dog. He wanted to argue about it. But he needs to remember one thing in his head.
"Your identity will be a risk in your life; both regular and secret…"
Hudson's words recalled back on his mind as a reminder. His identity is real, huge risk. He thought that he would start bragging about his double life to everyone, but he would be risking the many consequences soon. Besides, his not really a hero yet. His just a vigilante. He has to be responsible.
Lincoln got up from his bed and head straight to the bathroom to freshen up, by washing his hands and splashing his face with water to make himself wide awake. As he left, he put on a normal black and white shirt and head downstairs for breakfast.
"Morning, guys." Lincoln greeted everyone, while four of his sisters are in the living room, watching TV. "So, how's everyone doing this morning?"
"Fine. Just relaxing after a long day of school stuff." A seventeen-year old Luan replied, as she was one with her sisters in the living room. She had a different change of clothes for her age, and her braces are removed. "What about you? You looked all beefed up. I was about to get kraken." She laughed at her joke. Despite being seventeen, Luan's still the only person with a mouth filled with jokes.
"Yeah…" he scoffed and gestured his hand. "I mean, you know me. The guy who would spend his Friday night with comics, video games, and some nerdy stuff I've been through." He tried his best that his lie won't even be that suspicious to Luan, or anyone at all.
"Fair point." Luan replied. "At least you're the only guy who would watch hero attacks a lot often in your room." She gave out a sly look on her face. Lincoln didn't bother about what she said, as long she took the bait. Or to anyone who's listening to the conversation.
Lana was flipping channels with the remote, with a bored look on her face. "Boring, boring, boring…" she grew annoyed as she started to groan in irritation. "There's nothing good in here to watch on a Saturday!" she noticed Lincoln beside the couch when glanced at her left. "There's some eggs and bacon in the kitchen. Go help yourself."
Lincoln entered the kitchen, while the others are in the dining room enjoying their breakfast. He grabbed his plate filled with eggs and bacon. But before he could eat, he went to the fridge to find a pitcher of orange juice to freshen up his mouth with.
Just then, Lana's voice alerted everyone. "Guys, come quick! You won't believe this!"
The rest of the family rushed to the living room. Lincoln poured his glass with juice, and decided to join in with the rest of his family. He couldn't believe what he saw with his own eyes.
"… and welcome back to the Royal Woods Action News. Our top story for today is about last night's warehouse incident. We now go to Geraldine Dunst for last night's report."
The camera shifted at the woman beside the news anchor. The woman named Geraldine Dunst is was now introduced. She has short black hair, which reaches to her neck. Her attire consists a red, black-buttoned coat with a white shirt underneath, a pair of black jeans, and black high-heeled shoes.
"Thank you, Gene. Last night, an incident about a warehouse raid in Bailey Avenue was caused by six heavily armed robbers who were present that time. It was also said that they were the same robbers that were known for their many heists that lasted for a week. From what they were doing, they were mostly, trying to steal one-hundred crates of advanced weapons made from the military."
The whole family were now focused by the news. Lincoln just stayed quite for a while, as he is also watching about the heroic stunt he pulled. Normally, he would draw attention all the time when he saw a news report about a hero, but it was different.
"Reports from the police of the RWPD reported back that when they stormed inside the warehouse, they found the bodies all on the ground, covered in bruises and blood stains. When they began to question them, the one of the robbers, along with the lead robber, confessed that it was the cause of a male teenager in a mask. Here's some footage of voice recordings about their confessions."
The screen shifted to the voice of the lead robber, which is now recorded. "It's true! It was a kid who took us all down! I swears, I not even lying about the part where he sounded like one!"
The second robber's voice was next. "I thought fighting him would be a fair way, but I have to admit, he was good in taking me down. But I hate the fact that he ruined our chances."
"It was scary! He just came out of nowhere, and tackled me to the ground. He even tried beating me with two sticks!" the third robber's voice complained, who had an irritated tone.
It flashed back to Geraldine and Gene. "Police has now stated that they were all sent off to a prison in Belle Heights. Another police report was heard from RWPD detective, Quincy Morris, who gave only one information, which he believed that the masked teenager is proclaimed to be a vigilante. There were no other reports after. Whoever he is, we might as well say 'thanks', or 'get lost'. Back to you, Gene…" Geraldine finished.
Lynn Sr. was first to speak. "Wow! A vigilante that stopped those guys! Now can you believe that? Looks like this city has a little bit of hope after all."
"Oh, I can believe it alright. I can't believe the cops are against this guy!" Lana complained, who's also defending the vigilante's work. "None of this would happen if he weren't around. But wait! The vigilante guy did them a favor!"
"I'm on Lans on this one." Lynn agreed, with Rita nodding as she also agreed. "They should be thanking him, not planning an army against him. The police force is bogus!"
"I believe I should correct you both." Lisa intervened, letting her talk. "It is likely true that the police force in Royal Woods are not really doing well in their jobs, since they always suffered more casualties in one day, and the lack of proper law enforcement." She explained. "But as much as I hate to say it, vigilantes are likely illegal. And it would be a lot better if a real hero would deal with the situation."
"It's a shame that Lori and Leni just got started in their programs." Rita added in dismay, "Even Luna just started."
"Well, whatever it is he does, I hope he can handle it." Luan hoped, but her hope wasn't that strong as she was about say something else. "Vigilantes are really illegal, so I hope he knows what he's doing is either right or wrong."
"I'd say what he was doing is the right thing." Lucy spoke, adding her own opinion. "Royal Woods is being filled with demons and monsters alike. It needs to be stopped."
"Big deal! He's gonna get arrested anyway." Lola stated in a none caring way. "The only monster out there is that vigilante guy! I mean, what's with the mask? Is he gonna do it again? Why can't he be like those other heroes, who can reveal their identity to the public and junk."
"You're just saying that because you want to know who's in that mask." Lana mocked. "When did you start talking about heroes and their identities?"
"Just now, Lana. I'm only stating the facts, which is true." Lola defended.
"Whatever." Lana replied. "Anyway, I'm getting bored from all this vigilante talk. I'm gonna go back flipping channels." She started to do what she did earlier.
"She's right." Lynn Sr said. "It would be best if we just stop talking about it. Besides, we have our own opinions to share, and it doesn't matter who's right or wrong."
The family resumed back to their daily weekend routines. Good or bad, it was still criticism. Lincoln, on the other hand, kept silent and just head back to the kitchen too finish his breakfast. He was lucky to hide it, and lucky that no one ask him why he didn't let out his inner fanboy to the rest.
"I wonder if the rest of the people in the city knows this." Lincoln pondered in his head. "I wonder how'll Daniel and Wendy will react? Heck, maybe his dad will be having different taste about it. Hope he doesn't have anything against vigilantes."
Elsewhere...
In the mansion of the Greenville family, located somewhere far away from Franklin Avenue, Daniel is on the couch, watching the same news report. The report caught his attention, so he focused on listening to it.
The doors behind him opened, as he glanced to noticed that Edward walked inside. "Oh, hey dad. How was your sleep?" he asked. "You know, during the past few weeks, I was worried about you."
"Yes, I did get a good sleep, thanking you for asking." Edward, who was pale and tired, replied back. "The company had a… urging problem. So, I had to come back late. I know you were worried about me, but I'm fine."
"Actually, I wasn't." Daniel corrected. He would be that concerned about his father's health, but never his recent schedules on running for mayor and checking his company. "I mean, it's the same thing you always do. It's like a never-ending day for you."
"You know I have to keep my hands full, right? Running both important things in my life could be a handful, but I hope you'll understand when – Wait…" Edward stopped talking, as he focused too on the news report. He listened to every detail about the warehouse incident, and the vigilante. He even read the news headline. His face tells that he was disbelieved.
"There were no footages or a sketch about the vigilante. But we were informed from the RWPD, as they said that they will have a city search and send him to jail if he is likely caught red-handed. Few citizens were in agreement about this, while the rest believed that they it will be a waste of time in their jobs, since there are other crimes happening throughout Royal Woods…"
"Warehouse incident stopped by masked vigilante? When did this happened?" The Greenville father started to ask questions.
"Last night, somewhere in Bailey Avenue." Daniel answered as he grinned. "The police are really this stupid to capture him, and send him off to prison." He chuckled. "I mean, the cops were being late as always, so that's fact."
"It clearly states that he is a vigilante. Which is an illegal thing for person to do." Edward reminded his only son. "Vigilantism is an act of crime, Daniel – Ever taught about that? We have the police, so let him do their jobs."
"And let the police arrest him all because he just did them a favor? No way." Daniel argued. "Instead of hunting him, why not thank him. Besides, this city doesn't even have a hero who can protect it. Sure, he's a vigilante, but to me, he's a hero in my book."
Edward scowled behind Daniel's back. He never knew that his only son would be siding a vigilante, which is clearly a crime around the world. Vigilantes to Edward are considered criminals, who only wanted to break the law without getting the police involved in numerous crimes spreading the city. He even hoped that a vigilante would never exist in Royal Woods… until now.
Before Edward could speak or say anything else to Daniel open his eyes, he started to feel different. His face became tensed, cringing on the pain that's occurring on his head. He even started to feel uneasy as he began breathing heavily. His eyes were also feeling different after rubbing them. He can't even tell what was happening to him. He wasn't feeling alright.
As Edward let out a painful groan, Daniel noticed as he looked back to his father. "Dad, are you alright? What's happening? You need help?" he rushed to his aid.
"Yes, I'm fine. It's just a minor headache…" he sighed painfully. "… I need to go and deal with this myself." He said as he reached the doors.
"No, I insist." Daniel intervened. "That doesn't sound like a minor headache. I'll call Ivan, or your doctor from California. Maybe he can tell what's –"
"No!" Edward yelled in pain. "I mean… No. I don't need that. I can deal with it myself." He repeated. "I just need to lay down for a while, or take some medicine…" he growled in pain as his headache is becoming worse. Edward left the room, leaving Daniel to be very confused and concerned about him.
Edward entered in his office, and sat down on his chair as he began to relax himself. His room wasn't that completely dark, due to the different color of window curtains. He began to sweat a lot, he even breathed rapidly since his heart was beating rapidly too. It only became worse. He rested head on the table, hoping it'll be gone.
While trying to rest his head, he started to hear voices and other sounds that's ringing on his head. Everything echoed on his mind, and he tried to ignore it, hoping it'll go away.
A loud and painful groan was heard as it echoed in the entire room. The Greenville businessman jolted up from his seat, and breathed shakily and heavily. He was confused, scared, and nervous of what he just heard on his head before, not even after what happened. In fact, he can't really remember what happened after taking the serum at Sentinel Tower.
He heard the telephone rang, which was place on his desk, as it beeped and left a red light. "Sir, I'm just checking in for your schedule on your mayoral campaign. They're wondering when will you will show up."
"I... I'll be there soon. I just need to get ready, and deal with this with this headache of mine." he said, ending the message. He felt pale again like earlier, and he wasn't sure if he was alright. No, that didn't came out right.
He wasn't really feeling himself.
At the Black Bunker, during nighttime, Lincoln is seen sparring with Hudson in the training room, trying to improve his strength and stamina. He was filled with sweat as he tries to keep on going. He felt like what he did was the right thing last night. Stopping those robbers from the warehouse was the exact thing that he believed it will be a start. He felt like that it could be a new life for him.
As Lincoln was exhausted, Hudson stopped, "Time out!" he noticed how exhausted he was from the sparring session he tackled. "I'm impressed kid, you're adapting a little from that sparring session." He was amused. "I think you just broke my hand, or my soul from those kicks and jabs."
Lincoln let out a chuckle at the joke, if it was one. "Thanks. Besides, you were the one who taught me all this." He grabbed a bottle of water from his bag and started drinking to refresh himself. "I should be thanking you for this."
"Don't have too." Hudson insisted. "I saw the news about that task that I gave you." He recalled, which made Lincoln paused for awhile and listened. "I was amazed – No, scratch that. I was impressed that you manage to take all of them down, without getting yourself killed." He grinned. "Guess it really paid off for you to stop your first crime fighting."
The white-haired boy just smiled. "Thanks."
"Although, there's something else I have to say." Hudson started as he tried to collect the right words for him to say. "You see, I was planning to drop down my vigilante job." He explained shortly. "And if you think that I said this before, you're wrong. This is the first time I'm saying this."
"Wait, hold on. Why would you drop down your whole vigilante job? I mean, isn't that the whole reason you're in Royal Woods?" Lincoln asked. He was confused why would a professional vigilante put down his job and give it to him. Plus, he just started his first crime encounter in day one.
"Well… it was supposed to be my new job here, like I was defending other cities outside Michigan. I left those cities since other heroes started to come by and patrol every street. I was a like a temporary guardian in those places." Hudson stated. It's true. Some cities from other places outside Michigan have heroes patrolling the rest now that he already completed his task.
"Okay, but why would you stop? Why can't you just stay here and… I don't know, be this cities guardian or something." Lincoln tried to convince him. "I can't be that person yet, I just started."
"Which is why I'll be at your side." Hudson stated.
"You really think that's a good idea?" Lincoln questioned about what he said.
"It is. I'm still gonna train you, but to add, I'll be helping you with every crime happening, while you go out there and be the vigilante you are." Hudson explained. "I'm doing this because I'm making sure if you're ready for this. It doesn't mean that you just started, doesn't mean you're fully ready." He explained. "You're still young, so you still need me in this. You have a lot to learn. And I have to keep you in check."
Nothing else to say since he understood everything he said. In order to be Royal Woods' new protector, he has to stop several other crimes to prove his worth it. The warehouse incident was just start.
"Yeah, I can agree with that." Lincoln simply said. "I mean, it's the least thing I can do. And it's like from comic books. I gotta have to start somewhere small first, right?"
"Yeah, something like that." Hudson said, with a less deadpanned tone. Probably the part where he said about putting his vigilante life in comic books. But he didn't mind. As long Lincoln agrees, then it's settled.
After their meeting ended, Lincoln took the bus as he seated on one of the chairs, while the bus takes him back to Franklin Avenue. Lincoln knows is that he just started his first vigilante duty. He needed to adapt the areas more and more often. He wanted to protect the Royal Woods, but this is only his beginning.
This was only a head start for him. Later, it will be his starting lap.
And that is the end of how he started his vigilante duties from the beginning. I know your thinking, is this the end? Is it really over? Well. No.
No it's not over yet.
Like I said, I'll be busy that time, so I'll have my hands full somewhere else. And I'm also taking a break from all writing, I haven't gotten any much sleep, I need to take care of myself. So, the new chapter will be updated as soon as I'm out of break, or if I can get enough sleep this time. Also, check the profile I made for Lincoln in my bio page. It will also help you know how his persona well. Anyway, please review about your thoughts, and I'll see you in the next chapter.
