I Loved Pokemon since I was 8, but felt that it would do better if Ash was competent, but still unpredictable. If Ash still had that rash nature and unpredictability, he would go a long way, because his opponents wouldn't know what hit them. Also, he should train his Pokemon outside of the misadventures he has, it would be more beneficial. He would be able to do better in a league and maybe even win. I mean, whats wrong with him finally winning a league, Nintendo? You would get more viewers and maybe more publicity if Ash won. What are the downsides if he won? There would be a downside if he had a girlfriend though. Everyone has their own arguments as to why Ash should be with someone, but if Nintendo chose someone, whoever didn't support the shipping, would go berserk. Right now Nintendo, you are just using the anime as a way to see all the legendary Pokemon, get a preview of Gym Leaders, Pokemon, and the layout of the region. It would be more fun and exciting if Ash actually did something. Ok, enough ranting on Nintendo, those are just my felling on the anime.
