On the next day, both Anne, Charlie and Sprig knew that the night much like the parts of the previous day was an emotional time for them, even for Priscilla and Pearl since they all were reminiscing about their mothers. During the day, around noon, Charlie had talked to Anne and Sprig about last night as he was worried about them and they too were worried about him.
"You guys alright? Last night, it ended on an emotional note." said Charlie looking worried.
"I think I'm going to be alright. I managed to let it out and it was probably the first time I mentioned my own mother, unless you count the time when I was five when I asked Hop Pop about his folks and what they were like. So this would technically be my second time talking about my mom." said Sprig feeling better.
"Anne?" Charlie asked.
"I'm okay, dude. I managed to let it out." said Anne feeling better.
"What about you?" asked Anne and Sprig curiously.
"I think I'll be alright. But if we ever have to talk about how we feel when something is bothering us or if we need to talk about something that's got us feeling as blue as the ocean. We need to talk about it and let it out. Or at least talk to Hop Pop about it since he's the adult of the group." Charlie advised.
"Agreed." they said in unison.
"Don't mean to change the subject or anything but sometime I think about two hours before we all woke up. I heard this loud moaning sound that I think came from the hotel room next to us. Did any of you hear what that was?" asked Sprig curiously.
Anne and Charlie went silent and they were wide eyed, blushing deeply. What Sprig told them could only be described as one thing. Someone in the next hotel room was probably making love to someone, be it their spouse, girl friend, boyfriend, or possibly someone whose a call girl. They knew that Sprig was too young to know about sex or the crazy things that people do during those said acts of perversion. They knew that the only thing they can tell him was a lie in order to avoid traumatizing him.
"Hey Sprig, do you know what a masseuse is?" asked Charlie.
"Someone who gives another massages like at a massage parlor?" guessed Sprig.
"That's what it was. You probably heard someone getting a massage in the morning that was relaxing to the said person that they probably were moaning from how strong the masseuse's hands were." lied Anne.
"Hmm. He must've felt really relaxed. Anyway, I got to use the toilet. If we have to talk about anything that is, you know, bothering us like Charlie said, it'll have to be when ever we're not using the bathroom." said Sprig.
As Sprig walked to the bathroom and closed the door. Anne and Charlie let out a sigh of relief when Sprig believed them about what he heard going on in the other hotel room.
"We are never giving Sprig the talk about sex. That's Hop Pop's job." said Anne.
"Definitely, those two people in the next hotel room that were going at it like animals. They could've at least been in a hotel room that was not next to one with kids. Polly's not even Sprig's age yet and Hop Pop would freak the heck out if ether Sprig or Polly caught two people going all Mrs. Robinson in one room. We can barely advise them to not use swear words when somebody lets one slip. And I'm the one who used a few." said Charlie knowing this was the truth.
"Yeah, but you only let it slip when you're frustrated, angry, or when someone pushed you to the breaking point. Especially when someone calls you the M word." said Anne defending him.
"By M word, you mean when someone calls me a monkey?" asked Charlie.
"Yes, but I only refer it to the M word because I know if I said the word to you or said it out loud, it hurts you. And I don't wanna hurt you." said Anne trying to church up the word.
Charlie came over to Anne and hugged her as she hugged him back.
"And you're the sweetest girl I've ever met. Soul sista." said Charlie with a grin.
"And you're the sweetest guy I've ever met. Soul brotha." said Anne with a grin. "By the way, I got some news."
Charlie started to wonder what Anne meant by having some news to tell him. He figured that she had an idea on what to do next while they're in Newtopia which he didn't mind.
"I'm all ears." Charlie replied.
"It might not be till tonight but me and Marcy have planned a sleepover with her at the castle. We were thinking that you, Sprig and Polly could join in on it." Anne revealed.
Charlie let out a loud hiccup as the two released their arms from each other. Both of them looking at each other. Charlie had a nervous expression on his face and Anne could tell he wasn't expecting that.
"A sleepover?" said Charlie.
"Oh yeah. Wait, didn't you ever go to one?" asked Anne curiously.
"What about a sleepover?" came three voices at once.
The two turned to see that Sprig and Polly came out from the bathroom while Hop Pop came from the entrance of their hotel room. The three frogs didn't catch everything that Anne just told Charlie which Anne knew they should be informed.
"Marcy and I are planning a sleepover at the castle with her and we were going to invite Charlie, Sprig and Polly along. But Charlie is looking nervous as if he's never been to a sleepover." explained Anne.
There was a silence. They suddenly looked at Charlie and immediately realized something. Has Charlie ever been to a sleepover? He's never made any mentioning about it, no subtle implications nor did he talk about a time where he had that experience.
"I take it you never been to a sleepover before?" guessed Sprig.
"I'm a guy. Sleepovers is not exactly something people expect guys to do. I know it sounds kind of typical that most people expect girls to do sleepovers but for guys, it's not common for guys to do that. Also, I never been to a sleepover in my life. Years back, Sasha would tell me that sleepovers are more of a girls thing when she told me that at sleepovers, they do makeovers, their nails, doing facials, talking about boys, sharing their feelings." Charlie listed off with a shudder. "Sasha kind of turned me off about the idea. As for Marcy, she told me sleepovers are fun but it's not like what Sasha implied. I think she wanted to show me that a sleepover was not like what Sasha told me but ether the chance never came up, maybe I was thinking guys don't do sleepovers, or maybe Sasha just turned me off to the idea. Which I assume it was all of the above."
"And when did Sasha tell you this?" asked Anne.
"Around the time I thought dating was gross. Sasha and I didn't start dating around the time when we were nine or ten, but around the time when I was eleven or twelve was when she dumped me. I was in the the dating is gross phase till age eight or nine." explained Charlie.
They realized that not only had Charlie never been to a sleepover let alone being invited to one. They saw that Sasha had an unbearable control over him so long ago that even after they heard everything that went on between them, the amount of pain that Sasha put him through. They knew that Charlie missed out on the joys of sleepovers since Sasha gave him the wrong idea about those events. Charlie seemed more embarrassed to admit this to them but he wasn't showing that he was hurting due to Sasha's behavior since he grew a spine like Anne did.
"For one, what Sasha told you about sleepovers is not all true. Sleepovers vary from person to person, some sleepovers are like that but not all of them are." reassured Anne.
"After everything that's been going on. I probably should've known that not all sleepovers are what Sasha says they are. But I still wish that we could find something to get along about. Kind of like how some people bond over something that gets that whole thing started." said Charlie feeling reassured. "As long as there's no tickle fight, I'm cool with anything."
"Oh? You mean like this?" chuckled Anne.
Anne reached out to place her hands on Charlie's belly and sides and began to tickle him. He started to squirm and laugh as Anne was only joking around.
"Oh come on, no fair!" laughed Charlie.
"Looky who I got." laughed Anne. "I think I found a soft spot somewhere underneath them studly muscles."
"I give! I give!" choked Charlie.
Anne decided to show mercy as she stopped tickling him and pulled Charlie in for a hug. Charlie knew Anne was only joking around in a harmless manner when it came to the tickling. Now they all had one little thing on their minds.
"So what's a sleepover like? What does it involve?" asked Polly curiously.
"Oh yeah. I got plenty to tell you guys about sleepovers. They may not be what Sasha told Charlie but it's not all girly girl things. Me, Sasha and Marcy have some experience with sleepovers but some experience is better than no experience at all." explained Anne.
"At these sleepovers. Y'all don't talk about inappropriate subjects like...like what adults do when they have alone time or anything like that?" Hop Pop asked hopefully.
"We don't do anything like that at a sleepover. Maybe if we were all eighteen years old, yes, but since you got three teenagers, a ten year old frog and a baby polliwog. Those subjects of conversation is not happening." reassured Anne.
Hop Pop let out a sigh of relief. He knew that Anne, Charlie and Marcy were old enough to be aware of what sex is, things that adult couples do that are considered sexual in nature and that they know about puberty and the likes of all of the above. But he knew that Sprig and Polly were too young to know of such subjects when they're barely old enough to understand that couples kiss frequently.
"At least that's some good news because if anyone is to give Sprig or Polly the talk about puberty or anything like that. Than that's my job." Hop Pop informed.
"Kashikomarimashita!" said Charlie with a salute.
Anne began to explain to them what sleepovers are like and what they entail since Sprig, Polly and Charlie have never been to one and have no real knowledge on what people do at sleepovers since Sasha gave Charlie false ideas about what they're like or what activities they do at such events. As Anne explained it to them, they were showing to understand while Charlie let out a sigh of relief, knowing that what Sasha told him wasn't completely true.
