A couple of days have passed since the incident with the improvements of Wartwood had come and gone yet after the situation had been resolved. The residence of Wartwood felt as though Marcy needs to be given a chance since what she was doing had good intentions but knew she never intended for a disaster to occur.
They did however talked to Toadstool about emphasizing the situation which they were influenced by Charlie to not be so hard on Marcy and not to be too stern with Toadstool which Toadstool himself apologize for what his plans led to which he also apologized to Marcy for what he's done. Charlie did however had a talk with Toadstool by informing him never to repeat the situation that happened before let alone having a child involved. Toadstool understood which he embraced Charlie in a hug as he felt relieved that they were not too hard on him or Marcy.
Charlie was half expecting Toadstool to get a little emotional but the embrace was the closest thing to emotional he's witnessed from him. Even as the days passed since than. Toadstool was still struggling with an issue of his that felt like something he wish he had an answer or solution to yet he realizes it's not exactly like taking medicine for a cold.
Toadstool looked like he was staring at himself in a mirror like he was trying to practice confessing something.
"Charlie. I feel like I'm struggling to identify my...ever since you and I buried the hatchet. I've been experiencing these new feelings and I think it might mean that I'm...I think I might be..." Toadstool said between pausing.
As he looked at himself in the mirror. All he had on his mind was Charlie's acts of kindness from how it's affected him along with imagining beautifully attractive women and oddly, he was imagining muscular and studly hot men. He felt like he wanted to confess something but was struggling to do it. He sighed in disappointment as if he felt like he couldn't bring himself to confess what he's feeling.
"Charlie, I think I'm bisexual." said Toadstool in a low tone. "How do I even confess this."
Toadstool felt like he wanted to confess something but didn't know too many supportive people in town that he would know would support him in what this feeling is. He felt like there was only one person that he knew would accept this feeling as a good thing yet he was aware this person was dating already but he felt as though this one person could just lend a sympathetic ear.
Later On Today
It was a sunny day in Wartwood and everything seemed to be normal. Hop Pop was steering Bessie by the reins while Marcy was writing down notes in her notebook. Anne, Sprig, Charlie and Polly were riding in the back that was the cart. It felt like forever since they've had a day or morning that was peaceful, sunny out and not involving anything chaotic.
"This is so great! Our first day in forever with no responsibilities!" said Polly looking thrilled.
The little polliwog bounced her way towards the front seat that Hop Pop and Marcy sat.
"So, what are we gonna do?" asked Polly.
"Ha! You'll see." said Hop Pop.
Bessie eventually slowed down to a complete stop as they were near a local store in the town that had a sign that read "The Seed Store" with the word "Seed" in greed lettering. There was two different seeds painted on the sign that were on the opposite sides of the sign.
There was large duffel bags filled with different types of seeds around the outside of the building along with some different types of shovels that anyone could use. There were some wooden stands that had wooden boxes filled with different types of seeds as well which was located on the right side. There was a broom near it and two windows, one on the front and another seen on the left side. Charlie looked up at it and he wasn't too thrilled about it but he figured the appearance of the building was fitting for what it's used for. Polly's excitement turned sour.
"Oh no." groaned Polly.
"Yep!" said Hop Pop with a grin as he popped his lips at the word.
"Oh, come on! Don't worry, Marcy. We don't have to go into the boring old-" Polly began.
"This is so cool. A store just for seeds? Boy, we could be there for hours!" said an excited Marcy ignoring Polly.
"Don't tempt me!" said Hop Pop looking as though he was wanting to be tempted.
As the old male frog and Marcy laughed about what they spoke of. Charlie was seeing that look in Hop Pop's eyes. He knew what it meant.
"I feel like I'm reminded of something that my grandpa taught me when he first taught me about planting seeds and growing them into crops. That cornfield was huge." Charlie thought to himself.
"The humble seed. So much potential for growth!" said Marcy with a big twinkle in her eyes.
"One of the rare things life where you actually get out what you put in! It's beautiful!" said Hop Pop also with a big twinkle in his eyes.
Both Hop Pop and Marcy got up from the wooden seat they sat in and landed on the ground as they were walking in a humorous fashion towards the building as Hop Pop let out a goofy yet excitable laugh.
"Have fun in there!" called Anne.
"Yeah, we're good here in the wagon." called Sprig.
As the two walked towards the door of the building. That's when Hop Pop turned to face them.
"Oh, and look after Polly you three. Also, Polly, no mischief." advised Hop Pop.
That's when Hop Pop and Marcy entered the building and closed the door. Polly knew that they'd be in there for a while as she had a devious grin on her face while rubbing her hands eagerly. She bounced off the driver's seat and bounced her way to both Anne, Sprig and Charlie's side.
"Perfect. Now that the nerds are gone, you guys want to go make mischief?" said Polly seeing them distracted "Guys?"
Anne was showing Sprig how to play a random game on Anne's phone. The game was called "Robo Ring World Tour" there was two robots battling each other on the screen which that's when an impatient Polly pressed the phone down to lower it down to get their attention.
"Hey! Did you hear me?" said Polly annoyed.
"You know, in the past, I would have said yes, but I think I'm getting a little too old for that nonsense." said Anne declining on the offer.
"Sorry, Polly. But me and Anne have changed. We're different now." said Sprig with a grin.
"Some of us even sound different." said Anne under her breath.
"What?" chimed in Sprig.
"Nothing. Anyway, I think we should focus our energy on more mature activities." said Anne calmly at first. "Sprig! Use your kitty cat blasters!"
"On it!" said Sprig.
As Sprig was pushing buttons on the phone screen. She turned to Charlie who was looking stoic but relaxed.
"Hey Charlie. Wanna go crazy? The worst that could happen is someone gets angry and they look funny at times. Or at the very least, someone's gonna tickle you." chuckled Polly.
"I'd rather not, Polly. Besides, you heard Hop Pop. And I've never been the type to pull mischief on people." said Charlie.
"You've done it before." said Polly in disbelief.
"Only when someone is going way too far when they caused us trouble like that time I whooped those toad soldiers behinds when they first tried to take me by force. Besides, I'd rather just sit back and relax this time. That crazy situation that happened last time took it out of me." explained Charlie.
Polly was in disbelief. She expected that Charlie wasn't the mischievous type or at least not on purpose but Anne and Sprig declining on mischief making with her left Polly disappointed and annoyed.
"So no one wants to cause trouble with me?" said Polly with a raised eyebrow.
"Sorry, dude. And if case you didn't hear, we're responsible for you." said Anne reminding her.
"Boo!" said Polly annoyed.
"You'll get it one day, when you have someone to look after." said Anne pointing out a possibility.
"Death first!" said Polly sharply.
The game Sprig was playing suddenly uttered the words "You're Dead" while Sprig shown to be visibly annoyed and tried again. That's when an idea came to Polly's mind while she had a wide, devious grin. Charlie looked at her and sensed that the little polliwog was up to something.
"You two are responsible for me, huh?" said Polly bouncing on the edge of the cart. "So I guess that means that you're responsible for this!"
"Polly, what are you doing!" cried Charlie.
Polly ignored Charlie as she jumped forwards and landed inside one of the duffel bags that had brown seeds in them and once she landed in there. A lot of seeds came flying out and landed on the ground around the building, some of the seeds stabbed into the walls, the door and more of the building but as the seeds clattered around, one or two of them broke the glass of the window.
That's when Charlie got up from where he stood and yellow colored male adult frog poked his head through the window. He was looking irate.
"What the!" he uttered.
That's when they heard loud and heavy foot steps as the male frog came outside and opened the door. He was looking angry.
"Who's responsible for...this?" asked the yellow male frog angry at first but than suddenly shocked.
His expression changed when he saw that Charlie ran around and quickly cleaned up the mess as he picked up every seed that was on the ground, pulled each one out from the walls that they've jabbed themselves into and anywhere else the seeds spilled out on. Charlie was doing it so fast that it was like the speed of light. He placed every seed back into the place they spilled out from. He carried Polly out of the bag and carried her in his arms.
"Sir, we apologize for the mess. I managed to clean up most of the mess. As for the broken window or any of the damages. I'm sorry but your best options are talking to the mayor about it and see if he can do anything about it or you can talk to Marcy? The second female human that's in your shop? She's quite the miss-fix-it. Ask Marcy if she can do anything or if there's anything she'd suggest. I know you're really irate but if you want to let it out. I know something to suggest." explained Charlie apologetically.
"Marcy? You mean that young little girl that came in with Hop Pop?" said the male frog looking bewildered at what he saw and heard.
"Yes sir." Charlie responded.
The adult male frog's angry expression changed from anger to an odd sense of relief. He let out a chuckle and smiled out of relief.
"Alright, but as for the suggestion for letting out my anger. I already got a method for that. But I appreciate the suggestion." said the male frog oddly relieved.
He walked back inside his shop and once he closed the door behind him. Charlie placed Polly down on the edge of the cart. He shown a stern expression when looking at Polly.
"Chikushō Polly, you could've gotten us and yourself into trouble with the shop owner with that stunt you pulled!" said Charlie sharply.
"Oh come on, like you never caused a little mischief. This is turning out to be such a boring day!" argued Polly.
"You pulling a stunt like that is your idea of fun? If Hop Pop saw this. He'd blow a gasket." argued Charlie. "You pull a stunt like that again, I'll."
"Or what, you gonna make me sit in a corner and think about what I did?" Polly said getting smug.
Charlie didn't like arguing with Polly as he saw her as a little sister to him since he never had any siblings. But he knew there was only one way to get Polly to behave and he really didn't like having to get this way.
"I'll tell Hop Pop." threatened Charlie.
Polly looked at Charlie with shock. Anne and Sprig were snapped out of their little world and were wide eyed at what they heard. They knew that Charlie wouldn't really tell on someone unless he had no other choice. Charlie was putting his foot down.
"You wouldn't dare!" said Polly challenging him.
"This is strike one, Polly. I may not be able to punish Marcy if she was on her third strike for the reasons I've stated and I really don't want to tell Hop Pop that you pulled a mischievous stunt like that. I really do not want to do that. But if you keep this up and reach your third strike, oh you gon get it." said Charlie showing authority but also a hint of hesitation. "So what's it gonna be Polly?"
The two had a stare down as if waiting for the other to flinch, show hesitation or fear. Charlie wasn't moving and shown none of the above. Polly was trying to show none of the above ether but she ultimately felt like she couldn't out do Charlie in this challenge which she blinked and looked down at the ground with defeat.
"You...you win." said Polly with a sigh.
Charlie let out a sigh.
"Polly, you do know that I don't like having to be this way. I hate being the authority figure who puts their foot down." said Charlie showing compassion.
"Heads up!" called someone.
The person that yelled out the warning turned out to be a teenage male frog as a big ball that looked like a basketball came at ramming speed towards Charlie and since it was so fast, the second the teenage male frog yelled the warning was when the ball nailed poor Charlie in his face hard. Anne and Sprig and other frogs nearby saw this as the ball nailed him in the face and bounced off his face, leaving his face red from the hard impact.
"Charlie!" said Anne and Sprig in shocked unison.
Anne and Sprig were distracted as they ran to Charlie's side as well as the teenage frogs that caused the accident as they were worried he was hurt.
"Sorry!" said one of the teenage frogs.
"Charlie, you alright! Say something to tell me your alright!" said Anne in a panic.
Charlie was silent for a moment before he finally spoke.
"Sure, I'm alright. Mama." said Charlie dizzily.
Charlie fallen to the ground but Anne caught him before he landed and those tending to him helped him sit down nearby and were making sure he was alright. While they were tending to Charlie. Polly bounced away from them as she took advantage of the situation as they were distracted.
Little did Polly know was that Charlie recovered faster than he should. Anne kissed him on his cheeks and the frog teenagers who had the ball apologized to him while Charlie was forgiving. He looked around and saw that Polly wasn't around to be seen. He groaned.
"Anne, you and Sprig stay at the cart with Bessie. I'll go look for Polly." instructed Charlie. "Please don't do what I think she's doing."
Polly bounced around town literally and made her way towards the town founder's statue. She was looking smug as she was feeling free as a bird with her mind coming up with so many ideas to cause mischief.
"Who needs those three to make mischief." said Polly placing her hand on her chin. "Now how can I be rambunctious to the max?"
Polly looked towards the town statue and saw there was water in the fountain that surrounded it below the foot of the statue's feet. She had a mischievous grin. She bounced her way over there and when she said something out of thrilled excitement was when she let out a battlecry and bounced up into the air so high that she fell towards the fountain.
She landed in the water but she expected a big splash but the splash into the water was unfortunately very small. When she landed in the water. The splash was no stronger than the splash of a coin being tossed into the water. A drop of water hit the heavyset male frog nearby on his face. He looked up into the sky and saw no clouds as if he was thinking it was a raindrop. He went back to reading his newspaper.
Polly emerged from the water and appeared disappointed.
"I really thought that splash would be bigger." said Polly looking around.
As Polly was looking around to see what she can do to cause a bigger amount of mischief. She saw to her right a large cherry pie from the looks of it set out on the window sill from Flour & Daughters Bakery. It was plump and steam was still radiating from the pie as Polly saw it with wide eyes that had a twinkle.
"Hmmmm. Beetle pie." said Polly dreamily.
She swam out of the water and as she bounced her way over to it. She tried to bounce up to try and grab the pie but she couldn't quite reach it. Her arms weren't long enough. She tried to catch it by jumping up for it two or three times.
"Curse these puny arms!" said Polly frustrated.
Polly punched the air but accidentally landed a punch on Toadie as he went flying and landed into a wooden crate full of loaf's of bread. She bounced away and made her way towards what looked like whee a lot of bags of garbage was at. She had a look of disappointment as she felt the desire to be mischievous or to pull a prank was losing it's enthusiasm.
"Mischief's just no fun alone. Stupid Anne, stupid Sprig, stupid Charlie. Charlie would probably find me and tell me this is strike two or three and tell Hop Pop. Makes me wonder if I should go back and pray for mercy while kissing Charlie's boo boos. That ball sure hurt him." said Polly now starting to look mad.
She swung her polliwog tail and hit an empty food can and it went flying, bouncing off a few of the trash bags nearby. But than the piles of bags with trash started to move and rustle. Polly looked to notice as her frustration turned to alertness. That was when she saw more of the trash bags moving and some of them fell to the sides and that's when she saw a pair of glowing yellow eyes with darker yellow pupils. Polly gasped wide eyed and the eyes hidden themselves among the trash.
She now bounced up on the pile of trash bags and got to the top as if curious to who or what those eyes were attached to.
"Is somebody in there?" said Polly.
After about a minute or more. The eyes reappeared but this time they were glowing on Polly like a truck light with it's brights on. That's when Polly reacted with a horrified scream and fell backwards onto the ground. She looked up and saw a huge frog like robot emerge. This frog like robot was tall but large as a bodybuilder. Polly was feeling fear filling up her mind.
"Oh my frog! A monster! Stay back!" cried Polly.
Polly rolled up and flinched, using her arms to shield herself but for some reason. The robot like frog mimicked Polly and flinched, using it's own arms and hands to shield itself. Polly waited for harm to come to her but nothing happened. She opened her eyes and was confused. She closed her eyes slightly and the robot did the same with it's eyes.
She kept doing more movements such as placing her hand on her face and the robot would rub it's own hand on it's face but made loud, metallic scraping sounds as it did so afterwards. Polly laughed a bit at the robot's actions.
"Ha! You clown! Your copying me." laughed Polly.
The robot started to laugh along with her but it's laughter only sounded like robotic laughter with sparks emitting while someone spoke with aluminum foil being rubbed around a microphone. After the laughter died down. Polly didn't expect the robot to laugh.
"Whoa! Your laugh is horrifying." said Polly suddenly smiling. "I love it! You're no monster. You're just a big tadpole. I'm Polly by the way. What's your name?"
There was a moment of silence as the robot didn't know how to answer Polly. It was like the robot didn't know how to talk or didn't know it's own name.
"Can't talk, huh? You really are a baby." said Polly.
Polly bounce over to the robot and climbed up it's body like she was climbing a mountain made of metal. She climbed up till she stopped and sat on the robot's left broad shoulder.
"You look like one of those things from the fighting game from Anne's phone. What was it called? A robo!" said Polly remembering.
The robot looked at Polly as if smiling while it's eye lids blinked side ways and spun them around.
"Except you're more like a frog." said Polly suddenly gasping with a grin. "I will call you Frobo."
Frobo seemed like a fitting name for the robot as it looked like a frog like robot. Frobo spun it's head around once and struck a happy like pose. Polly chuckled a bit from the robot's reaction.
"I know. I know, I'm a genius. So what else can you do?" asked Polly.
As if it was a challenge. Frobo reached out to grab hold of the building that was Stumpy's restaurant and grabbed it from the bottom like he was grabbing hold of a car and lifted it up so high into the air that it could be high enough to reach a bird's eye view in the sky. Wally was heard freaking out from inside the building a little till Frobo lifted the building back down and placed it back where it should be.
Polly was impressed by what she just saw as if she found someone who was so cool and popular that she wanted to hang out with him.
"I don't believe this! I got my own frog dang sidekick!" said Polly excited. "Hey Frobo, how'd you like some fun."
That's when Frobo took hold of Polly and ran off towards where Polly instructed him to take her to. But they were being followed by Charlie as he quickly recovered from the ball that nailed him in the face. Charlie was close on their trail but he didn't see them, he only saw signs that they've been to where ever he would arrive in.
"She was here but Polly wasn't alone. That can't be good." said Charlie shaking his head.
Frobo took Polly back to the bakery as Mrs. Croaker walked inside the building. Polly instructed Frobo to grab the beetle pie for her which the robot extended it's right arm like it was able to stretch it out like rubber, it's hand reached the window sill but it's hand mashed the entire pie that it made a mess all over the window sill. Mrs. Croaker came out of the building screaming with most of the pie all over her face but she tasted the pie that was all over her face and smiled.
"Oh? It's cherry." said Mrs. Croaker optimistically.
"Run Frobo!" cried Polly.
Polly started to roll rapidly like a ball that was designed to roll so fast that it was running fast as a drag race car could drive while Frobo curled it's body up to roll along with Polly, literally. Charlie arrived and saw that Mrs. Croaker was covered in pie while he pulled out a clean and warm rag to give to the elderly female frog.
"You alright, Mrs. Croaker?" asked Charlie hopefully.
"I am. It's just pie. Someone smashed it and it got all over the window sill and my face." said Mrs. Croaker.
Charlie knew that this had to be Polly and someone. He groaned while shaking his head.
"Mrs. Croaker, use that rag to clean yourself off and if possible, shower off. Also, use salt to draw out the stains in your clothes." instructed Charlie.
"I know the method for that, honey. Thanks for suggesting it." said Mrs. Croaker feeling optimistic.
Charlie left the rag with Mrs. Croaker as he knew she needed it. He followed the trail that he knew Polly was on. Polly and Frobo stopped at a pole in town that had a sign that were street signs. They looked like street signs that said which street is which. One of the signs read "Mallard" while the other read "Minnow" as the signs pointed in opposite directions. Polly smiled with another mischievous idea in mind.
"Hey, check this out." said Polly.
Polly bounced up high and bounce off a blue letter box, than grabbed hold of the sign that read "Minnow" as she did a flip around it and bounced off the letter box after swinging around it for a bit. She bounced up to slap Frobo a high five as she instructed him it was his turn to do the same.
Frobo on the other hand jumped up high but when he landed, his strong and heavy body slammed down on the street signs and the blue letter box, completely smashing and destroying them into pieces while the wooden pole that held the sign up was completely bent in three places. The large robot walked over to Polly with one of his hands raised up as if to high five her. Polly was showing a nervous expression as if what Frobo did was a little extreme for her taste in mischief.
"Oh, a bit of property damage there." said Polly nervously slapping a high five.
That wasn't long till they've heard police sirens blaring and red and blue lights flashing nearby. Panic filled Polly's heart and mind as she knew they had to leave without getting caught.
"Oh shoot! Frobo, it's time to fro-go!" said Polly alarmed.
Polly was about to bounce away but wasn't fast enough but that's when Frobo grabbed hold of the polliwog and placed her on top of his head. Frobo ran and was a faster runner on his legs while Polly laughed in excitement from what she was seeing. Frobo extended one of his arms again and it grabbed hold of a roof to a nearby building and was now using it's extendo arms to swing from roof to roof of the nearby buildings.
Back at the location that Polly and Frobo were at. Two male frogs that were in police officer's uniforms. One was short with lime green skin and the other was a darker shade of blue with longer legs. They were looking at the damages of the sign and letter box.
"You thinking what I'm thinking Larry?" asked the male frog with longer legs.
"On three. One, two, three." said Larry.
"Giant octopus!" said the police officers in unison.
"Case closed." said the blue male frog dropping his police bat on the ground. "That's why you and I are partners, Larry. The very best."
Charlie shown up at the sight and saw the sign and letter box were completely destroyed while he was looking alarmed and angry.
"Tawagoto!" cried Charlie.
Frobo and Polly were both now back near the town statue after they've stopped running. The two struck a pose in excitement as if they felt the thrill of the mischief pumping through them like adrenaline.
"I don't know what Anne was so worried about. Taking care of someone is easy." said Polly looking as though her smugness was back.
Polly looked towards the statue again and smiled with a cute expression upon her face. She remembered she tried to make a huge splash but failed to do so in the fountain but she knew Frobo could make a bigger splash than she could.
"Alright Frobo. Time to enter the splash zone." said Polly excited.
She bounced off so hard that she bounced right into the water of the fountain, landing in there with a splash. She emerged afterwards.
"Come on, buddy. Your turn!" cheered Polly.
Frobo blinked his metallic eye lids side ways again and that's when the robot retracted it's arms and legs inside it's body and just like jets, what looked like jets coming out of his back started to shoot out blue flames as it shot itself up into the air and rolled it's body around like a rapidly spinning ball and as it made it's way down. Polly made a wide eyed face of panic.
"This might've been a mistake." said Polly grimly.
Frobo landed into the water but the impact was much bigger as more water came out spilling like a tsunami. The water pushed around some debris as some buildings and houses gotten some damages, part of the statue crashed into a window. That's when the destruction was seen all around them as Frobo looked like he was smiling and making an excited movement with his arms.
"Oh no!" cried Polly.
Most of the buildings were looking water logged debris crashed into a few windows and walls of the surrounding buildings. That's when Charlie shown up on the scene and he finally caught up with Polly and Frobo. He ran over to Toadstool as if wondering if he knew what went on as he came out of a barber shop with a pompadour and some shaving cream on his face.
"Toadstool, what just happened? And..." Charlie paused as he saw Toadstool's hairdo. "Wow! Mayor, that Pompadour looks slimming on you. Put on a leather jacket and sunglasses and you'd be looking slick."
"Oh my, you really think so." chuckled Toadstool blushing till his expression changed. "Sweet sassy molassy! What is that?"
Charlie looked at the robot that now everyone spotted and Charlie saw Polly. He was now filled with anger as he walked over to Polly, not looking amused.
"Polly! You ran off and some mischief was made? That's strike two and three really fast!" said Charlie sharply.
Other residence of the town muttered words of shock but Charlie seemed to sense that this robot wasn't evil for some reason. He sensed that this robot was having the mind of a child from the innocent expression the robot expressed. The place where the statue and fountain stood now had a small crater in it's place.
"Well, what ever it is. It destroyed the fountain! Second time this week too." said Toadstool looking annoyed.
"It's some kind of metal abomination!" said Stumpy sharply.
"No, no! He's not dangerous. He's just a big, sweet dumb-dumb! Frobo, show them. Do a trick." suggested Polly in his defense.
Frobo got up on his feet and Charlie saw that something wasn't right about what the robot was about to do.
"Polly, this doesn't look like a good idea. This isn't like that film that had Arnold." warned Charlie.
Before anyone could retort was when Frobo looked at a cardinal compass nearby that was on top of a roof and fired orange like lasers and as the lasers went through the compass, it exploded into flames and charred pieces of wood.
"Dang zooks!" cried Toadstool.
"Shit!" said Charlie looking dreadful.
Stumpy saw some objects in a box that they could use as weapons and he tossed them to others nearby which everyone knew that they had no choice but to destroy Frobo as they saw him as a threat to everyone but Polly and Charlie both knew this wasn't going to end well for anyone.
"I wouldn't do that! Let's take a leap of faith here and show some peace first!" suggested Charlie as he had no idea why he was defending this robot.
"No! Wait! Stop! I told you he was harmless! Now back off!" cried Polly.
"Polly, head's up!" cried Charlie.
A slim bodied male blue frog accidentally hit his foot on Polly which was an accidental kick which made her roll a bit.
"Wow! You really kicked me there." said Polly showing she knew it was an accident.
"Whoops! Sorry Polly." said the blue male frog apologetically.
Frobo looked at Polly and saw she was feeling some slight discomfort. When he looked at the blue male frog that accidentally kicked Polly, his eyes turned red and it's face now shown rage as if sensing someone is trying to hurt Polly. He was in a battle stance.
"Well, that don't look good. Charlie, what do you call it when a situation looks like it's about to get worse?" said Toadstool.
"We're in deep in shit." answered Charlie.
"That's the word for it." said Toadstool in agreement.
Frobo was now so irate that it let out a shriek like roar while Polly looked at Charlie as if desperate for his help.
"Charlie, talk some sense into the people! Frobo's really a sweet guy. He just thinks I need protection but he doesn't know that everyone doesn't mean me any harm. Please Charlie, I know, I'm on my third strike, I'm gon get it! I'll tell Hop Pop everything I did. Just please help me convince the people!" begged Polly.
Seeing the desperate look in Polly's eyes and hearing her confess and tell him that she'll tell on herself to Hop Pop seemed to really get through to Charlie and his rage towards Polly's actions turned to compassion as if knowing she's taking responsibility for her actions. This convince Charlie to help her.
As Frobo was rolling around like a ball through out the town while others would run and scream in terror while Charlie suddenly let out a loud, lion like roar. His eyes and hair turned gold and his muscles grew larger as he started to run so fast that anyone that was in endanger of being hurt by Frobo from being run over by him, he would run at the speed of light that he carried them away from danger but tried to make sure he didn't lose Frobo's trail.
"Frobo! Get over here! Tomare! Yameru! Tomaru!" screamed Charlie.
Frobo suddenly uncurled himself from it's ball and started jumping around the town as he was moving around just like Charlie moves around when ever he's in this form. It landed somewhere on the ground and left a small crater. it would even use it's laser eyes. That's when Anne and Sprig finally shown up.
"You think Charlie's is okay after that ball nailed him in his face?" asked Anne.
"Well, he went to find Polly so if anything, if we find Polly, we'll find Charlie." said Sprig.
Polly made it to their side while Anne and Sprig spotted Frobo and Charlie. Charlie was trying to get Frobo's attention but he was ignoring him. Charlie was doing what he could to get others away from the robot and any of the areas that was getting damaged.
"What...what is that thing?" asked Sprig wide eyed.
"Is that some kind of crazy frog robot!" cried Anne. "And is that my boyfriend trying to reason with it?"
"Uhhh maybe?" said Polly nervously.
"Polly!" said Charlie sharply.
"Okay yes, yes it is. But it's all a misunderstanding." said Polly admitting the truth.
They ducked as they just narrowly missed the lasers which the lasers singed a nearby brick wall.
"Frobo stop! Polly's alright! It was an accident!" Charlie tried in vain to reason with him.
Anne and Sprig pulled out a weapon. Anne pulled out a tennis racket while Sprig pulled out his slingshot.
"Well whatever it is. We got to stop it before it hurts anyone or my man." said Anne.
Anne and Sprig ran towards Frobo to try and stop him while Charlie saw the robot was about to attack more people. Anne tossed a rock at the robot's head and rotated his head to face them.
"Hey you!" cried Anne.
Anne and Sprig ran towards Frobo to attack it while Charlie tried in vain to get others to stop attacking the robot or for the robot to stop attacking anyone.
"Frobo, if you harm these innocent people, don't make me do this." warned Charlie.
"We got it from here, babe!" said Anne.
Anne and Sprig both attacked Frobo as the robot attacked them as well. They tried to land a few moves on each other while dodging each other. Anne used her racket to beat on the robot's head but it grabbed her while tossing her aside, she hit Sprig with her body by mistake while they were tossed and landed on a pile of hay.
"Is that all you got?" said Anne weakly.
Charlie felt like he had no other choice but to take a leap of faith. He ran to Anne and Sprig's side and stood in front of Frobo as if ready to take the bullet for them. Frobo's eyes turned it's deepest red while Charlie put his hands up to show he was unarmed as if to show Frobo he's on his side.
"Frobo, in the name of the lord, we are not your enemy. Put your trust and faith in me! If you harm my girl or my Kyōdai! I'll be forced to do something I'll regret! Think about this for a moment! Polly doesn't want this! Do you think she wants this!" cried Charlie attempting one more time to talk some sense into Frobo.
For some reason, Frobo stood frozen as Charlie was showing him some form of compassion but also a slight warning. The crowd charging at Frobo was coming at a run to help the kids. Toadstool even felt his heart racing with courage.
"Hang in there, kids!" cried Toadstool. "Hey you hunk of junk! You stay away from those kids! And stay away from that dashing devil with the big heart!"
"Frobo no!" cried Polly.
Charlie had a weapon behind his back was his katana. Polly hopped her way over to them fast as she was trying to stop Frobo and the mob. Once Polly made it to their side and Frobo couldn't tell if he should blast his lasers or not.
"Dear God!" said Charlie using himself as a shield.
"No! Everybody stop!" cried Polly and Charlie.
Their voices echoed loud enough to snap everyone back to reality. Everyone stopped, Frobo's eyes turned back to yellow again and he wasn't showing any signs of hostility. Frobo looked at Polly as she was alright. Charlie let out a sigh of relief as he looked up at the sky for a brief moment.
"Cutting it kind of close." Charlie muttered under his breath.
"Frobo, I know you're just trying to protect me. Everything you did today is because I asked you too. And now I'm asking you to stop." Polly instructed kindly.
"Frobo, please listen to Polly and me. Not because it's the right thing but it's because the people you love know what's best for you out of love." said Charlie shedding a tear.
Frobo started to form a heartwarming smile as he uttered "P...P...Polly" which brought a tear to Polly and Charlie's eye.
"Frobo, your first word." said Polly wide eyed with tears.
"Well, now that it's calm down. Let's tear this thing apart!" cried Toadstool.
"Never!" cried Polly in his defense.
Charlie let out a loud lion like growl to convince everyone to listen to Polly as they all could see the look on Charlie's face was telling them to stop or face a brutal lecture. Charlie's hair and eyes turned back to his original color while his muscles formed back to their original size.
"Toadstool, don't even think it. Everyone, put down the weapons." instructed Charlie looking stern.
"Yes, handsome. I mean yes sir!" Toadstool corrected himself.
"Come on Toadstool. Isn't there another way? It seems like Polly really likes him and Charlie's warming up to him." suggested Anne.
Charlie walked over to help Anne and Sprig up to their feet.
"Anne, I know this town is no stranger to crazy at this point." said Stumpy trying to be reasonable.
"But come on." said Toadie annoyed.
"This Frobo thing is a menace." said Felicia sounding angered.
"It destroyed my shack. I mean someone's got to answer for this mess." said Loggle sounding annoyed.
Polly looked around and saw that there was only one person who can answer to this. She saw Charlie and she saw the look on his face was grim which she remembered that argument she had with him and she knew that this was all starting because of her little prank from earlier. Charlie was about to say something but Polly raised a hand to stop him.
"You're right. I will. This wasn't Frobo's fault. It was mine. I taught him how to do all this. I'm sorry about all the damages. I'll do what ever it takes to fix it all up. But leave Frobo alone. He's innocent. Also, earlier at the seed store. I'm the one who made the mess back there and almost got Anne, Sprig and Charlie into trouble, even though Charlie cleaned up the mess and talked it out with the shop owner, still, that was my fault. Frobo, say your sorry." explained Polly taking responsibility.
"Frobo, listen to Polly. She really loves you." said Charlie.
Frobo looked at Polly and shown a faint emotion of remorse as he started to slowly apologize verbally.
"S...sorry." said Frobo.
Everyone's anger simmered down and as Charlie gave them a convincing face to show them that they should stop which they understood and obeyed. Their expressions turned form anger to compassion and remorse.
"Well, said sorry, that's good enough for me, eh?" said Larry.
"We don't even have hand cuffs that big anyway." said the tall blue male frog.
"I guess we already accepted three monsters." said Toadstool with a groan.
"Yep! I mean what's one more at this point?" said Loggle.
Charlie cleared his throat loudly at them and the two male amphibians looked at the male human who was giving them a disapprovingly look at their statements which both of them and others shown wide eyed expressions and knew that what they said wasn't very nice.
"Boys." said Charlie sternly.
"Sorry about what we said." apologized Loggle.
"Sorry Bubba, I mean sorry sir." Toadstool corrected as he let out a nervous hiccup.
Both Toadstool and Charlie blushed deeply about the words by now. Charlie figured that Toadstool was tripping over his words by accident.
"You really think I look slimming with this hairdo?" said Toadstool changing the subject.
"It worked for Elvis." said Charlie blushing.
The two looked as though they were trying not to make things awkward and Toadstool walked off blushing as deep as he's ever blushed.
"Charlie, I'm bisexual. I told you this because I wanted someone nice to tell this to because I didn't think anyone would support my feelings of my sexuality. Why can't I tell him that?" Toadstool thought to himself.
Many of the residence of Wartwood left the scene as they knew the danger was over. Charlie saw many people using buckets of water to put out the fires while Charlie came over Anne and pulled her in to hug her while she too hugged him. Both of them gave each other a kiss to the lips.
"I'm so glad you and everyone is alright." said Charlie.
"It's like someone said. Your love keeps lifting me higher." said Anne with a grin.
As the two love struck teenage humans hugged each other. That's when Hop Pop and Marcy came out of the seed store building with each carrying a bag of seeds.
"I can't believe they had tomato plant seeds." said Marcy with a grin.
"I still think you shouldn't have bought those. I have my reasons for it." said Hop Pop.
That's when the two saw what was going on from outside and they saw a lot of the property damage and Frobo. They were wide eyed with shock. Marcy let out a gasp.
"What-what in tarnation!" cried Hop Pop.
Both Anne and Charlie's kissing stopped and they were wide eyed as they saw Hop Pop and Marcy saw the property damage and debris everywhere along with Frobo around.
"Hey Hop Pop." said Polly waving.
"Hop Pop, I know this looks bad." said Charlie looking afraid.
Marcy was the first of the two that noticed Frobo. She smiled in excitement at the sight of the frog like robot.
"Oh my gosh! Is that a robot?" said Marcy excitedly.
Marcy tossed the bag of seeds she was carrying to Hop Pop's side which knocked into his face and nearly knocked him over onto the ground. Marcy was getting a closer look at the frog like robot.
"Where did it come from? What is it made of? Can I have one?" asked Marcy rapidly.
"Woo woo! Slow the Wu train down a little." joked Charlie with a laugh.
"What's a robot?" asked Hop Pop looking ready to freak out.
"Should we tell him about that old film that Arnold was in?" asked Charlie.
"Too hard to explain." answered Anne.
Polly had bounced over to Hop Pop as she knew she had a lot of things to confess.
"So, I know this is a lot to take in but can we please keep him? I'll be his big sister. Just like how Anne and Marcy are my big sisters and both Sprig and Charlie being my big brothers. I'm ready to take care of someone. Also, I got a lot of explaining to do about what happened today. Be warned, it's going to sound like a big headache to hear. Just so you know, everyone else is innocent and I'm the guilty one." explained Polly.
Hearing this was a shocker for them all to hear. Even Charlie seeing Polly take responsibility for her actions and not blame them on anyone else was quite the first for him.
"Whoa!" said Sprig.
"Wow! What a turn around." said Anne surprised.
Charlie shed a tear as Polly could see him shedding a tear that she knew that Charlie was touched by the sight of Polly slowly growing up. She looked at Frobo for a moment.
"Frobo, wrap your arms around Charlie. He could use a hug, rock him a bit." instructed Polly.
Frobo looked towards Charlie's direction and extended his arms to take a gentle hold on him pulled him into his arms to hug him while slowly rocking him back and forth as if consoling the human male teenager which was working.
"D..d...don't cry." said Frobo slowly.
"I'm not sure Polly. He sure seems dangerous. He seems to be able to comfort Charlie when he's feeling emotional distress. Can it do anything useful?" asked Hop Pop.
That's when both Charlie and Polly gotten an idea in mind while Charlie whispered to Frobo to stop which he did.
"Show them, Frobo." said Polly.
Frobo started to use more gadgets his body had built into his body. He used a pitch fork that his hand turned into and used it to dig lines into the ground, tossed up a few white pieces of wood to put a white picket fence around the dig in lines and raised it's arms up to drop a large amount of water on top of it which it happened in an instant that large flowers grew from the ground, fully grown from it. It struck a pose. It used a pitcher to sprinkle water around it while it used it's free hand and arm to wrap around Charlie as if to hug him or snuggle him. Frobo was showing affection towards Charlie as it would hum a peaceful tune.
"I think Frobo's taken a liking to you, Charlie." said Anne.
Hop Pop saw that Frobo can garden like Hop Pop does while he was wide eyed with a raise in euphoria with a twinkle in his eyes.
"Welcome to the family, Mr. Frobo!" said Hop Pop happily.
Frobo used one of his hands to pull Hop Pop and Polly in to gently embrace them while Marcy was writing down notes in her notebook about Frobo.
"So do you do anything else? Also, while you're staying with us. You be nice to the kids and they'll be nice to you." said Hop Pop welcoming him warmly.
Frobo uttered a mechanical whirring sound as his head rotated around and a compartment from the top of his head opened up while freshly made toast popped out. It was perfectly cooked. Hop Pop and Marcy took the toast to eat it and after biting into it. It tasted like heaven to them.
"Don't mind if I do." said Hop Pop.
"Hey, it's multi-grain." said Marcy with a grin.
While they walked off. Both Anne, Charlie and Sprig looked on in curiosity. They had a lot of questions on their minds but there was one of them that only popped up.
"Wow! First underground computers. Now a robot." said Anne wide eyed.
"This world may not be so pastoral." said Charlie.
"Wait a second, guys. You don't think that thing was what got built in the ruins of disaster, do you?" asked Anne.
"No way, and followed us all the way home. That would've been hundreds of miles." said Sprig stating a possibility.
"Could be." said Anne.
The three of them took a moment to think as they stroked their chins but after a moment of thinking. They figured the idea was absurd and dismissed it. But they walked along to catch up with Hop Pop, Marcy and Polly. But there was something else on their minds.
"Did Toadstool call you Bubba?" giggled Sprig.
"Handsome?" chimed in Anne. "Dashing devil?"
"Do you guys think Toadstool is..." paused Charlie.
They were starting to wonder if Toadstool may turn out to be into guys or that he was tripping over his words for some reason. But Charlie seemed to wonder if maybe Toadstool is having an issue that he's struggling with talking about it and he was curious if he wanted to talk about it but didn't know anyone to talk about it to show support. Charlie started to think that he had to talk to Toadstool about a possible issue but he had no idea that Toadstool was struggling to admit his and accept his sexuality.
