![]() Author has written 28 stories for Hobbit, and Musketeers. Me & My Writing Pericula Ludus is Latin for "peril is my pleasure". This may or may not be related to the topics in most of my stories. While I don’t write any smut, I have been told that it shows that I’m among the older writers here. My stories are based on personal experience and heaps of research, ranging from military records to medical papers. I'm not an absolute stickler for canon, but it's important to me to get facts right and I like to make even a fantasy world as realistic as possible. Much of my writing is based on actual historical events. Feel free to ask about them, I’m always happy to talk about my sources. The Musketeers I have been smitten with Athos for a good 20 years now and figured I might as well put that passion to good use. Even more opportunities for my excessive research (it's an obsession, I acknowledge that I have a problem) by writing in an actual historical setting, how exciting! My magnus opus so far is Sans Peur et Sans Reproche, which takes place between Season 1 and 2 and follows the four through a very dark time of illness and injury and the fight against an invisible enemy. Vigile Pascale and La Messe de Minuit are two short stories about the musketeers attending church services at Easter and Christmas respectively. A Musketeers Advent consists of four vignettes from their childhoods, all focused on Christmas time. A bit of an odd one, The Letter of Last Resort is my only modern AU that I have released into the wilds of the internet. Praise and Glory tells a little of Porthos' tale before he became a musketeer. I'm currently working on a series of prompts from my 2018 Hurt&Comfort Bingo card. Each prompt receives a self-contained story, but they all link up to form one larger tale, stretching from Savoy all the way to Season 3. All prompt fills are planned and many plotted in some detail, and I'm releasing them as soon as they are written and edited. The Hobbit Thanks to the "Feels for Fíli Mini Contests", I have written an entire series of stories that focus on Fíli and have all fared rather well in the contest. They all fit into the same universe. If you want to read them in order, this is the way to go about it: Just Apple Juice (a fluffy incident from Fíli's childhood explaining his dislike for apples), Change of Seasons (it's the beginning autumn in the Ered Luin and Fíli is also entering a different season of his life), Ma zatâmradimênu (adolescent Fíli kills his first man), Keep your LovingBrother Happy (a traumatic event in early adulthood) Ôhùfukmâ – Our Freedom (just prior to the Battle of the Five Armies), Through the Darkness (the aftermath of the battle, Fíli survives) and Into the Light (spring comes to Erebor and with it the new arrivals from the Ered Luin). My other universe is canon-compliant with the outcome of the Battle of the Five Armies. It starts out with the fluffiest fluff I have ever written Wa and Gump (a tiny anecdote from Kíli's early childhood). Just before the quest, Dís says Farewell to her brother. After the quest, Dís learns of her sons' deaths in No Sacrifice which explores the aftermath of the battle in great detail with a focus on grief, guilt and the line of succession. This story arc concludes One Hundred Years later with a memorial to the great battle. Then there are stories that stand on their own. I Go Now to the Halls of Waiting is my reply to the third Hobbit movie. The Seven Kinds of Love is my Valentine's Day present for the Hobbit fandom, a series of one-shots that are quite literally Lovely. Dwarfling Love provides fluffy vignettes from Fíli and Kíli's childhood. I’m currently working on a little trilogy focussing on the friendship between Thorin and Dwalin, starting with Night Out in which Thorin gets poisoned, continued in The Mightiest May Be Slain by One Arrow in which Thorin stops breathing, and culminating in the story of how Dwalin got the big scar across his face.
