Cecilia sat on the tower, trying to follow the chaos down below but falling as everything merged together. A sighed left her lips as she let her shadows dissipate around her – instead listening about the progress though the coms.
As the captain left Natasha and clint on the bridge below, recusing those trapped in the between the gun fire as best they could.
She listening carefully though the coms as the captain gave orders to the struggling police.
"You need men in these building. There are people inside that can run into the line of fire. You take them through the basement or through the subway. You keep them off the streets. I need a perimeter as far back as 39th."
She chuckled as her shadows explained how the followed argued then followed the captains' orders before the man beat a Chituara that landed to close for comfort.
"I might as well help..." she muttered quietly to herself. "The perimeter is a far back as 39th correct?" she asked, wanting to confirm the captain's statement to the police. She never got to understand the Americans direction such as '39th' it didn't make sense to the English born and rise female.
"Yeah, why?"
"You'll hear"
She wasn't the best at this sort of thing, it being more of her brother forte but it would help clear the chaos below. Less humans caught in the cross fight so to speak.
Clang~
Clang~
Clang~
A golden scythe appeared as the metal clanging echoed though chaos cutting though the noise like a knife.
"Hello American citizens, do not be alarmed." she spoke, her voice echoed though the heads of the public below sending calming thoughts down the network of links she just created. She spoke in a mother of all languages for all to understand. She could hear the confused commence from her team as she continued to talk. "If you are safe to do so stop and listen to my words. If not quickly fine cover. I heard that this is a great nation that fought for freedom and these aliens are trying to take that away from you! So, listen carefully, I need you to help your fellow man, woman and child! The police are making a premiered as far back as 39th street, head there if you can. Head to the basements, and underground kept out of sight of these creatures. Do not give up hope just yet, fight for your freedom and fellow humans' freedom by hiding, helping and living to see another day!"
Clang~
Clang~
Clang~
She cut off the connection she had created, with the people below before rising a hand a vicious smile crawling across her face, "May the shadows help hide you and the blood of the enemy feed my people for times to come"
There was still a scream or two from the public below – who had gotten caught in the crossfire, but there was an air of determination that swept through the modern city. The will of survive, to fight for their freedom growing every passing moment as their hope was lifted and energy renewed.
"Is no one going to question that last part?" stark was the first to break the radio silence that descend on the mismatch group of superheroes.
"Tony, I think you have something else to worry about at the moment. The giant flying whale is very close for comfort don't you think" Cecilia responded sweetly, ignoring Thor's quizzical looks before he jumped into the skies.
Her brother could do much better in his speechcraft despite his more that savage nature. He could get you to fight to the death for a cause you didn't believe in if he actually tried.
As Thor landed on the streets below with the rest of the group Cecilia attention turned elsewhere, a breakage in the shadows. A strange ripple that was not there beforehand. She narrowed her unseeing eyes towards the direction.
"Interesting..." she spoke before dragging her attention away. She would deal with it later.
"what's interesting?"
Ops she'd forget that the coms would relay anything she spoke.
"It appears my position was compromised..." she spoke quicky eyeing Loki and his trail of puppy dogs that followed his every move.
"Do you need backup?"
"Let a lady play~"
She rose a hand towards the flying crafts, griping at the shadows hidden within the amour. "oops, wrong one" she muttered a small smile crawling along her lips as the one of the flying spaceships veered off – crashing into a building below.
She flicked her wrist out again, another one of the following crafts fell from the air as its driver was ripped to shreds by the shadows created by the armour. "I missed again~" her voice purred, sounding regretfully of missing but her hidden expression remained the same. Smiling.
Loki glared at the women, as one by one she stuck his men, her shadows coiling around the Ailen's making their crafts crash to the ground, or into the towering building. He could feel her magic, her shadows much better that earlier as they coiled around the surrounding city, sense it going for his army. The god couldn't tell whether it was by accident – as she couldn't SEE who she was killing or on purpose, torture him as he drew closer. Making it seem that she could kill me at any moment... thank his magic that it protected his body from her shadowy coils.
He snarled before sending a volley of blue beams from his sceptre toward the lady's sitting position. "Oh my..." Ceclia eyes widen in surprised at sight.
BOOM!
The walkway explosive from the attack, the debris crashing onto the walkway below with a sickening crash. The crash echoing though the city followed by a deafening silence.
"Cecilia!" the avengers on the bridge below yelled, watching the carnage before them. "Downton can to hear me?" Tony yelled, debating whether to fly over to his building with the whale like alien? Or was is a spaceship? on his tail. He gritted his teeth; No he couldn't put the rest of the group at risk...
Natastha, stared in the direction of the wreckage. Looking. Looking for a sign – anything really to show any sigh of life.
"Where did that come from?" questioned clint, his hawk like eyes staring direct towards the a familiar looking back brolly, that slowly floated towards the bridge.
"What do you mean?" black widow asked, while turning her attention to the chitauri that had surrounded them in their moment of distraction. "I swear that just blew from the tower but there no wind today..." clint responded, sending an arrow towards a creature, killing it instantly.
"What? Really?" the red head responded; dark eyes flickered toward the brolly. As it softly floated towards them, landed a few feet away.
"We shouldn't be worrying about a brolly," scolded the captain. "Clint, Thor are you two able to create a pathway to the tower? I'm not losing another person to Loki"
"It's nice to see that you care" a smooth voice responded. The group attention snapping towards a familiar figure, Cecilia stepped out of the shadows on her black umbrella. Resting the parasol on her shoulder she moved towards the group, dismantling the aliens surrounding her in a groy manner.
She didn't like when people shot at her... and she had been blown up twice in as many days. She demanded blood in retribution...
"Tony..." Steve started staring at the apporting female, "Cecilia alive and kicking... How'd you..." the solider started confusion lining his voice, "never mind I think about it later"
"Good choice" Cecilia smile unseeingly at the man as she stepped into their little huddle.
"haha, I knew the oaks family wouldn't be kill by just that!" Thor barked slapping the solider hard on his back.
"So, what's the story upstairs?" Steve asked turning the attention back to the situation at hand.
"The power surrounding the cube is impenetrable" Thor responded. Ceclia frowned slightly at the situation before turning her head sideways, letting her shadows deal with the next onslaught of chitauri while the group planned. Once again, her shadows ripping though the carcases.
"Thor's right. We got to deal with these guys" Tony's voiced over the comms.
"How do we do this?" Natastha asked, concern barely lining her voice.
"As a team" Steve responded immediately.
What an interesting crew, she thought with amusement
"I have unfinished business with Loki" Thor stated, looking upwards for his adopted brother who was currently repeating havoc a few streets over.
"Yeah?" clint stated, checking over some arrow head he'd pulled out of a dead body while the others were talking. "Well, get in line"
"Save it."
"Loki's going to keep this fight focused on us" Steve said as he began to pace. "Without him, these things could run wild." he turned around, pointing toward the sky. "We go stark up top; he's going to need us to..." the captain cut short as a moped engine caught his ears.
"Well, as least he landed on this continent" Cecilia mutter softly as the rest of the crew stared at the new comer.
