Once all the Fairy Tail members had gathered around, in the corner of the bar, chaos erupted. None of them could have ever seen it coming. Not Fairy Tail and not any of the other teams that competed at the Grand Magic Games.

It was just a sudden flash of white, blindingly bright as the ground began to shake. Then the screaming began. Floods of panicking people streaming out of the Arena, stumbling, running, yelling. It was chaos. Complete and utter chaos.

As soon as the first people had exited the Arena, the earth began to rumble. A deep thrumming that went up their spines and settled in their bones. It was frightening to say the least. The fear was obviously painted on the features of the townsmen and many mages were shivering in their shoes.

Nothing could've been done to prevent this.

The sky had turned dark and looming above them were grey clouds full of disaster and death. Then the clouds broke apart and the creature that flew through the clouds brought even more despair to the humans and wizards alike. None of this could be true. They were only imagining this, right? This could not be. It was not possible.

A roar broke through the eerie silence that had taken over the city. The screaming started.

More disorder to the madness.

Dragons.

Natsu was sure, it was a dragon he saw soaring through the sky, spitting fire as he flew above the houses and dread settled in his stomach. This was not the majestic beast he had had as a father. This was not the dragon that taught him how to read and write and do magic. This was not –

"Natsu!" a shout broke through his trance and he stared into clear eyes as he found his focus again.

"Natsu please, please breathe," Gray's voice shook as he held his face and leaned in, foreheads touching. It was comforting in its own way and Natsu knew he had to get his shit together and help out as much as he could like everyone else. He was a dragon slayer for fuck's sake, shouldn't he be able to do something?

"Gray," Natsu whispered and said man looked up, question clear in his eyes.

"Where are the others?" Natsu asked when he got the ice mage's attention. He looked around frantically and grasped at Gray's shoulders.

"Lucy? Gramps? Mira? Erza?" he rattled. Gray took one of his hands in his, wincing when Natsu grabbed on it with a deadly grip.

"They're fine, jesus, Natsu they're fine. We need to find the other dragon slayers and form a plan in order to get rid of that thing." Gray's voice was soothing in a way, unlike his demeanor, which was showing clear signs of panic. Natsu nodded and just as he was about to answer, another roar was heard from above and he watched how more of their people quivered in fear.

Then, as if on que, the clouds broke apart and Natsu's heart sunk to his feet. A dozen more dragons were descending like Lucifer's devils and they were destroying every piece of Fiore they could get their claws on.

Natsu's little peaceful bubble with Gray had been popped and he had had enough. He started running, dragging the raven with him to find Sting and Rogue. He ran along crumbled buildings, burning bridges and finally, finally he found them.

Surrounded, they were faced with odd looking animals.

"They came from fucking eggs or something," Sting yelled over his shoulder, as he fought two at the same time. Natsu and Gray wasted no time assisting the dragon slayer duo in defeating enough of them to escape and find a remotely safe place to discuss some type of plan.

"So… thanks for.. that," Sting heaved and coughed, spitting to the side and grimacing at the amount of blood he'd coughed up.

"Shit, Sting!" Rogue called and put a supportive hand on his brother's shoulder.

"It's nothing, I just got hit in the stomach really bad," Sting groaned and moved to sit down on what was left of a wall.

"We need a plan," Gray started and Natsu nodded.

"I say we fucking kill them. We ain't dragon slayers just because of the name that was given to us." Sting, despite the situation, grinned and pointed up at the sky.

"There's a lot of fire dragons, you know. You can use their fire against them Natsu," Sting explained and Natsu brightened up. Hell yeah, he could do that.

"I've seen a black dragon over there," Sting pointed to the right where a bell tower was currently crashing down. A velvety black dragon emerged from behind the fallen building and soared up, ready to take down the next building.

"I can take that one, probably," Rogue muttered, focused on the dragon's moves.

The four sat for a couple more minutes until a plan was formed. They agreed to find the rest of their guilds and then the three dragon slayers would each take down the dragon with their respective elements and report back to their guild after so they could team up and defeat more. Sting made Gray promise to find Lucy, alive and well, and protect her. The ice mage didn't miss the worried glance Natsu shot him when the duos split ways to find their families.

After what seemed like ages, but was probably less than two minutes. The two stumbled on their guild members, who were currently facing a giant green dragon. Natsu and Gray shared a glance before joining the battle and finally getting the upper hand, knocking out the creature within an inch of everyone's life.

"Gramps!" Natsu yelled when he spotted the little man.

"Ah Natsu, Gray, I was wondering where you'd run off to," the head master gave off a slightly less concerned aura than the rest of Fairy Tail. Natsu looked around and found everyone already drained of their energy after one dragon. This was bad. Very bad. How were they supposed to fight the dozens of dragons circling above and on the ground. What if they couldn't?
