This is my first attempt at a Destiny fic, in this case I am going to refer to the Guardian as a Male Exo in the Titan Class. Though the uniqueness of this Guardian will present itself very soon in the story.

Chapter 1: A Guardian Rises

Mars, Sol System, Orion Spur, Milky Way, Local Group, Virgo Suprcluster, Observable Universe, The Universe, The Past

A landing pod heads towards Mars's surface and lands. Three astronauts leave the pod, armed with guns. The text "THE PLANET MARS" and "PRESENT DAY" appear in various languages. The Astronauts explore the surface of Mars and find an enormous spherical object hovering above the surface. The screen cuts to black and the text "Destiny" with the Destiny logo appears a three pronged gear with curved edges. and a curved rectangle in the middle.

The screen fades to show a view of the solar system, starting with Earth. "We called it The Traveler, and its arrival changed us forever." A voice says. The white sphere moves away from Mars heading towards Earth a the system begins to show markings akin to that of a starchart. "Great cities were built on Mars and Venus. Mercury became a garden world. Human lifespan tripled. It was a time of miracles." Lines created by ships are created from Earth and expand to the other planets. We stared out at the galaxy and knew that it was our destiny to walk in the light of other stars."

Dark ripples appear from beyond the outer reaches of the system, encroaching upon the inner worlds. "But the Traveler had an enemy: a Darkness, which had hunted it for eons across the black gulfs of space. Centuries after our Golden Age began, this Darkness found us, and that was the end of everything." The screen fades to black. "But it was also a beginning."

Cosmodrome, Old Russia, Earth, Present Day

The camera pans over the Cosmodrome in Old Russia. Operated by the Russian Federal Bureau of Aeronautics, or PФБA, the Cosmodrome was a vital link to space during humanity's Golden Age, and centuries after the Collapse, the remnants of forgotten colony ships on the launch pad can still be seen, waiting to fly are many old, abandoned, rusted cars. A small sapient machine, completely white save for the tips on the top and bottom with single blue eye flies around, scanning various cars, searching for something or someone. In the distance a group of creatures that have four arms, partable mandibles, and wearing a helmets with a built-in respiration apparatus appear wearing armor of red and white. The machine scans a car. "Ouch!" It says, referring to the skeleton in the driver's section.

One of them carrying itself with an air of superiority and nobility views the floating bauble through his scope and orders his troops— one superior to the other, respectively—to move towards it. It scans another car, but then he spots something interesting. "Is it possible? The machine opens up, revealing a gunmetal grey core with its white shell being split into pieces and continues scanning. "There you are." It says again, finally finding what it sought after. There is a flash of light and the screen fades to black.

The screen fades in and then to black again a few times to simulate the effect of eyes opening. "Guardian. Guardian? Eyes up, Guardian!" The Guardian looks at the strange machine hovering in front of him a few feet away from him. "It worked. You're alive! You don't know how long I've been looking for you. I'm a Ghost. Actually, now I'm your Ghost. And you... well, you've been dead a long time. So you're going to see a lot of things you won't understand." A shriek is heard in the background. The Ghost turns to look and then turns back to the Guardian. "This is Fallen territory. We aren't safe here. I have to get you to The City. Hold still." The Ghost disappears into the Guardian's inventory.

"Don't worry, I'm still with you." Ghost assures him, "We need to move. Fast. We won't survive long out in the open like this. Let's get inside The Wall." The Guardian speaks, "They may be Fallen to you, but at heart they are still Eliksni." He says, his tone quite blank. The Ghost doesn't take notice of the strange remark, "I didn't bring you back just for you to die again. We have to move." Seeing no other available option, the Guardian nods and heads into the Cosmodrome. He spots a break in the Wall in the distance. The Guardian runs through the abandoned cars towards the break in the wall. He keeps to the left of the break and follows the railings to the Wall. There he finds an entrance and enters through the door to enter the Breach.

The Guardian follows the stairs up into a corridor lined with translucent windows and leads to a walkway past the windows and into the dark which Ghost kindly lights up, he also spots a knife with an moutain shaped etching on its blade and a wrapped up black handle. "Okay, I need to find you a weapon before the Fallen find us." The Guardian continues further into the Cosmodrome where will approach a set of stairs. When walking up them they see a Fallen climbing up within the wall. The Ghost whispers to his new partner. "Quiet. They're right above us." Walking more cautiously, the Guardian continues further into a dark room.

"It looked like a Dreg." He says, thinking rather than speaking as to avoid detection. "These relentless thieves seem driven by desperation and rage. They are crafty, but they usually give up their cover with their clattering and hissing. Most seem outfitted with some kind of shock dagger and pistol, and as far as I can gather, they seem to only have two arms, while other Fallen have four." The Ghost is surprised by this remark. "Wait, how did you know that? Ugh, no time for speculation now. Hang tight. Fallen thrive in the dark. We won't. We need more light. I'll see what I can do."

The Ghost leaves the Guardian and heads into the distance. "Another one of these hardened military systems and a few centuries of entropy working against me." The Guardian repsonds. "A Collapse of such magnitude can really do quite a number on such valuable tech." The Ghost turns the lights, revealing numerous support pillars in the distance laden with Fallen. The sudden bright light alerts the Fallen to your presence with a pair of small flying robotic drones chasing Ghost to the Guardian's position. "They're coming for us!" It cries out.

Without warning, the Guardian raises his hand and a blast of light emanates from his hand, destroying the bridge and causing the Fallen that are still on it to fall to the deep below. The Ghost returns to the surprised Guardian and opens a door. "Here! I found a rifle! Grab it!" The Guardian picks up the weapon and assess it as an automatic rifle, lying next to a crate. "I hope you know how to use that thing..." Ghost hopes.

'...as well as that thing you did just a little bit ago. I don't think I've ever seen Guardians do something like that, not even from Warlocks." The Guaridan spots that the glass on the sight is cracked and chipped, but it will suit its intended purpose for now. "A Khvostov 7G-02. An ancient weapon from the Golden Age, battered and worn - but still fires true. Perhaps it's been waiting for us as I have been waiting for you all these centuries." Ghost chuckles, enjoying the compliment.

The Guardian continues and sees a Fallen Dreg disappearing around a corner. "What was that?" It asks him, worried. "Trouble, plain and simple. While proceeding down the corridor, on the second turn a Dreg will climb out the left side of the corridor and a Vandal will drop from the roof in ambush. Seemingly on instinct, he kills both using the newly found weapon, taking them down with one bullet each in the mouths, destroying the respirators. "Huh, guess I do know how to use this thing." The Guardian says. "There's more ahead! Keep it up!" Ghost urges him.

They continue further into The Wall, passing through the hall and past a broken fence/wall. Here they are ambushed by three Dregs and a Vandal who will drop from the roof. After dispatching the latest group of foes, cross the bridge beyond. At the end of the bridge and on the right is a Fallen loot cache. "A loot cache. Let's see what's inside." He opens it to receive a bunch of small glowing cubes and a shotgun. The handle to the pommel is grey while the barrel is black. "A Preacher Mk.20. A perfect close-quarters tool. The Preacher sets a mind at peace. Along with some Dregs, I spotted a couple of Shanks, a Vandal and a Captain; All bearing the colors of the House of Devils."

Now the Ghost is conerned by his knowledge of all this. "Not that I don't like hearing about new things,..." he inquires. "...but how in the Light do you know so much so quickly after I woke you up?" He sighs, thinking himself in the same jumpship as Ghost. "I wish I could give you a straight forward answer. But even before I woke up, I had dreams... visions of the past and present. They tell me things. Such as the fact that Fallen run in packs, led by an individual Captain. There is no denying a Captain's might; they are the fiercest of the Fallen."

"There is this sense of tattered nobility to them. You can see it in the way they carry themselves. They think they're better than us. They believe that Earth belongs to them." Ghost feels a bit more tense about the info as the Guardian continues. "The truths about the Fallen chain-of-command are still making themselves known, but Vandals appear to hold a higher ranking than the Dregs, and deadlier weapons, too. They often have long range capability, but, lucky for us, their weapons take time to charge." When he finishes, they proceed down the stairs after the loot cache and turn the corner slowly. This will to reveal a corridor laden with trip mines. "Trip mines! Don't touch them." He jumps and rolls through the lasers and appears upon the other side. "Who said anything about touching them?"

As they proceed down the hall avoiding trip mines, one Dreg will drop from the roof at the far end of the hall and two emerge from the ground in front in ambush. A further four more Dregs will appear at the end of the corridor. He places shots on each of the remaining mines, which detonate upon impact, killing the Eliksni in the blast entering the hall, walk down both sets of steps and turn left left He heads under the catwalk to find a dead Ghost.

"Another Ghost, It must have shut itself down to hide from the Fallen or was found and discarded by them. Let's continue." The Guardian touches the dead machine and awakens, floats around to get its bearings, then vanioshes. To exit this hall, he heads to the right of the hall to find a door. This door leads to a large vent with fans. Proceed down the vent and exit through a door on the right to leave the wall and enter the Divide.

"The Fallen have a tighter hold on this place than I thought." Ghost responds. "Just a little bit further. Let's hope there's something left out there..." The Guardian exits The Wall and enters The Divide. "This was an old Cosmodrome. There's got to be something we can fly out of here." A portal opens in the sky. "Incoming!" a fleet of Fallen ships appear in the sky, one larger than the others. "Fallen ships! This close to the surface?!" The Guardian readies himself, "Less talking, more shooting!" The Devils then descend from the ships and proceed to engage him in combat.

The Guardian doesn't go for his gun, but instead moves far more fluidly, able to dodge most of the bullets, while catching and redirecting others to the other shooters in midflight. His response to this action, he begins to glow with power as the Guardian moves his fingers towards them and moves them toward him, challenging them to come at him. Surprised at seeing the first wave go down, they charge at him through melee combat and blades. His moves are the same as they were before. Dodging their strikes into each other with the agility and giving them a taste of a Hunter's blade, hurling spheres of energy like a Warlock and punching them and the ground with the strength of a Titan. Eventually the Guardian eliminates all of the Fallen from the dropships as the vessels are forced to flee.

"Wow, now that is impressive. I'm picking up signs of an old jumpship. Could be our ticket out of here." Head forwards and under the sign marked РФБА to find the Fallen. He kills and proceed past the Fallen towards the left and towards Dock 13. Head under the sign titled РФБА and proceed towards the right. After a short walk they encounter a giant pipe. A dead Ghost can be found inside the pipe near some foliage which he reactivates. The entrance to Dock 13 is marked by two large orange pipes. He is careful as there are numerous Dregs, Vandals and Shanks waiting at the entrance, then heads into the building past the enemies.

Proceeding through the building, they encoutner a small party of Fallen, composed of four Dregs and a Vandal, in a small room filled with computers and nets hanging from the ceiling. The Guardian enters Dock 13, they find said jumpship suspended by cables above the ground. This ship is protected by numerous Fallen including Dregs, Vandals, Shanks and a Fallen Captain, the same one that had been tailing the Guardian from the Breach since he first awoke. "There's a ship! Clear them out!" He will need to clear out the room of all Fallen including the Fallen Captain. He kills the lesser Fallen quickly, leaving only the Captain remaining. As a surprise to both Ghost and Fallen, he speaks to it, not in English, but in the Captain's own native language.

"Who are you? Why do you hunt me like prey?" The Guardian says. It cranes its head, intrigued by its approach compared to the other Guardians it has seen. "My name is Rahn." It responds in the same way, some clicking in its cautious tone. "Eliksni Captain of House Devils. You kind call us Fallen, hunt us, hurt us, kill us. All we want is to survival, all we want is to take back our Great Machine." The Guardian continues. "I only just awoke from deep slumber, you attacked me. You presumed me like others, though I know nothing about your Great Machine."

Rahn nods his head, though his gaze does not falter as the two begin to circle each other "Yes, my fellow Devils presumed you like others, denying us what is rightfully ours. I know that you don't know." the Devil Captain loads his sharpnel launcher. "However, you are different. You move like Hunter, attack like Warlock, fight like Titan. Your Light is stronger than others, too strong. You are dangerous if allowed to live. You must die." He fires his gun at him, but with unknown speed, he catches the round in his right hand. "I cannot deny the pain of your people; the Whirlwind, Six Fronts, Battle of Twilight Gap, the Reef Wars. But I cannot forgive the deaths. I cannot forgive the destruction. Time to put you where all our devils go." An aura of energy appears around the Guardian, crackling with power. He tries to fire his weapon again but finds it in his hands, crushed into scrap in his grip.

He raises his hand and places it on Rahn, a whisper is heard and the Devil Captain is dispersed into the wind. After he has killed Rahn, Ghost seems to relax a bit, though he seems quite startled about the change in his partner's mood. "Okay. Now that was... new." The Guardian speaks to him, "I apologize, something clicked in my head and you saw what happened." He responds. "It's no problem, I understand. All Guardians have their own unique personalities. Alright, let me see if I can get us out of here."

The Guardian opens his left hand for Ghost to scan the jumpship. "It's been here awhile. Hasn't made a jump in centuries. We're lucky the Fallen haven't completely picked it clean." The Guardian inquires. "Will it fly?" Ghost turns around. "I can make it work." The jumpship's engines power on and the jumpship breaks free from the cables, hovering in the air. "Okay, it's not going to break orbit, but it just might get us to The City. Now, about that transmat..." More Fallen enemies enter the room. "Bringing you in!" He calls out.

The jumpship flies out of the building. The Fallen enemies shoot at it. "We can come back for them when you're ready. Let's get you home." The Ghost pilots the ship and Guardian out of the Wall while a mysterious hooded Exo watches from the top of the building.

I'm not sure whether to do one mission, quest and etc. per chapter with some filler in between in some places. Anyway, this where I'll stop for now. Until then, recover the past, shape the present, change the future.
