Keisuke Amasawa. Ryuji Mishima. Chitose Imai. Yu Nogi. Four boys from the same world as Takumi, Ami and their friends have been sent by Kamishiro to retrieve our lost heroes. Ben and Summer take them to Oblivia, accompanied by Kellyn, Kate, and Keith. They were also sent to investigate the suspects for appearances of Digimon and Pokemon that do not belong in Oblivia. Team One World. Upon reaching Oblivia's skies, the legendary birds knocked Hudie's members out of the sky, separating them from the them. Fortunately for Keisuke, he reunited with his old friend Tentomon. As for the others...
Chitose found himself on Latolato Trail after the crash. He walked down the trail on his own. "Ugh…Still no sign of Ryuji and the others. Hope they made it okay. Then again, we aren't even in our real bodies right now, so it's probably all good." He looked around the island he landed on as he continued walking. "Man. It's like being on a nature hike. You don't see much of this in the city."
A bush he was approaching had two beings hiding in it. "Is that who I think it is?!"
"No mistake! It am him!"
"IS his, not am!"
As Chitose walked by the bush he heard a rustling. He looked behind him and towards the bush. After staring for a moment he turned around and was about to walk away when he heard a noise again. He turned around and the bush went still. "Alright, who's hiding in there?" He walked over and reached into the bush. He felt his hand grab something and pulled it up.
It was a white and orange critter with four stubby legs and long orange wings like ears, that Chitose was holding it by. "Um…hi?"
"GYAH!" Out of shock he dropped the little guy and stepped back. The animal flapped his wings and started to fly. "What the heck?!" Then another creature came out of the bush. It was a armadillo-like creature with a yellow body and a red triangle on his head. "Another one?"
"Greetings." The armadillo said. "Me am Armadillomon."
"H-huh?!"
"He means he is Armadillomon!" the other creature replied. "Sorry about him, he's still learning how to talk. I'm Patamon!"
"I…Didn't know there were Pokemon that could talk…" Chitose said uneasily.
"We're not Pokemon! We're Digimon!"
"Digimon? Oh yeah. Satoru mentioned something like that."
"Huh?"
"Nothing, just talking out loud." Chitose said. "So why were you little fellas sneaking up on me just now?"
"You look like you are lost." Armadillomon replied.
"Well, you could say that. I was separated from my buddies when we were riding on birds and then bashed out of the sky by bigger birds. Don't ask. Oh, right, I'm Chitose."
"Nice to be meeting you." Armadillomon nodded.
"Uh, yeah. Sure."
"Um…can we come with you?" Patamon asked.
"Huh? Why?"
"We're looking for our friends ourselves. We came to this world together but got we separated. If we're both looking for people, why not look together?"
Chitose shrugged with a smile. "What the heck, why not? Easier to search with more then one pair of eyes!"
"Glad you agree."
Chitose looked behind him to see Ryuji approach with another creature. It had a purple body yellow eyes. It appeared to be some kind of dragon. "Ryuji! Man, am I glad to see you in one piece!"
Ryuji smiled. "Right back at you. Are you alright?"
"A little shaken up, but I'll manage."
"Monodramon!" Patamon flew over to the Digimon next to Ryuji.
"Ah, there you boys are."
"Oh, is this one of your friends?" Chitose asked.
"Yes." Armadillomon nodded.
"I nearly landed on the poor guy when I came crashing down." Ryuji said. "He said he was looking for some friends, so we decided to stick together since neither of us know this place. Chitose, he said he's a Digimon."
"Yeah, so are these guys." Chitose said. "Just like Satoru said."
"You heard of us?" Monodramon asked.
"Yeah, how to put this…"
"You Digimon came from another world, right?" Ryuji asked.
"That's right. The Digital World." Monodramon replied.
"Truth is, Chitose and I are from another world. I'll leave it up to you whether or not you believe that."
"I trust you."
"Really? Well in that case…" Ryuji pulled up his Digivice and displayed images of the missing people. "We're looking for these people. They're from our world but wound up here. Have you seen them? We were told they were here in Oblivia." Monodramon, Patamon, and Armadillomon stared at each of their faces. "Well?"
"No…" Monodramon replied, still looking at the images. "I haven't seen any of them here."
"I see. That's a shame." Chitose said. "But we should probably find Keisuke and Yu before looking for missing people."
"You're right." Ryuji nodded. "They couldn't have landed too far."
"We also need to look for Tentomon." Monodramon replied. "Armadillomon, Patamon. Let's stay with Ryuji and Chitose and continue our search. We don't know what to expect in this world."
"Yes sir!" Patamon replied. Armadillomon nodded.
"Sir? What are you the boss or something?" Chitose asked.
"Not quite. I'm our team's second in command."
"And who's your boss?" Ryuji asked. "This "Tentomon?"
Monodramon looked away uncomfortably. "No, it's…someone else…"
"Someone else? Are they not in this world?"
"Well…"
"Ryuji! Chitose!" Both boys and the three Digimon heard a voice and saw Kate run towards them. "Found you!"
"Kate!" Ryuji said.
Monodramon looked at the girl, a bit surprised. "Is this one of your companions?"
"Sort of. She's one of our escorts."
"Sort of?" Kate pouted. "That's a nice thing to say to someone who came looking for you!"
Chitose snickered. "And Yu think's I'm not that good with the ladies!"
Kate then looked at Monodramon. "Wait, did that Pokemon just talk?!"
"No, I-
"Hang on a sec!" She interrupted Monodramon and pressed a button on her Styler. The word "Scanning" appeared on the screen. Then after a few second it displayed. "Error. Unable to identify." "Huh?! The Styler can't identify it?!"
"Probably because it's not a Pokemon." Ryuji replied.
"It's not? Wait, are these the "Digimon" things that were reported? But they don't seem to be wild or attacking."
"Attacking?" Patamon asked.
Monodramon growled. "This is bad…Just as our client feared."
"Client?" Chitose asked raising an eyebrow.
"My team was sent to investigate the disappearances of Digimon all over the Digital World. I figured there would be conflicts with them and these people, but Digimon attacking them? Who knows what will become of it?"
Yu walked through a forest alone. "Keisuke…Ryuji…Chitose…They must have landed somewhere around here…" He stopped at a nearby pond and looked inside. He could get glimpses of big shadows in the water. "The fish here are even bigger than the ones in the aquarium back home." Suddenly he saw one swim towards him. Without warning it leapt out of the water and came right at him.
Tentamon and Keisuke stopped in their tracks when they heard a scream. "Wh-what was that?!" The Digimon asked.
"That voice…Yu!" Keisuke ran of in the direction he heard the scream. Brushing through bushes and running around trees. Tentomon followed as fast as he could.
After a couple of minutes, he passed another few trees and into a clearing in the forest. There he saw Yu, sitting down with a blue tadpole like creature on his lap. Kellyn and Keith were with him. "Ah, Keisuke!" Keith said. "That just leaves Ryuji and Chitose."
"Yu! Kellyn! Keith!"
Yu looked up from the creature he was petting. "Keisuke! Are you alright?"
"I'm fine, but what about you? I heard you scream just now."
Yu's face reddened. "I did not scream!"
"Yes, you did, that's what lured me and Kellyn here." Keith grinned.
Yu just tried to avert his face from everyone's gaze. Seeing how uncomfortable he was Keisuke decided to change the topic and pointed at the creature Yu was holding. "Who's that?"
"Huh? Oh, this guy? Well…"
"I'm Otamamon!" The blue creature replied giddily.
"The little guy jumped out at me from the pond over there. Looks like he got attached to me."
Keisuke chuckled. "I always figured you'd be good with animals."
"I see you picked up a friend too." Kellyn said, pointing at Tentomon.
"This is Tentomon. I uh…just met him a moment ago. He's looking for some friends of his."
"Mon huh?" Keith looked at his Styler. "Our Stylers can't identify them. They must be these Digimon, we heard about."
"That's right!" Tentomon replied.
"So, what now?" Kellyn asked. "We found Yu and Keisuke, but still no sigh of Ryuji or Chitose."
"Let's call Kate and the others and see if they found them." As Keith pressed a button on his Styler a mysterious figure watched from behind a tree. It was a man wearing a blue cloak around his body with a hood and a mask shaped like Latios' face.
"So, you guys willingly came here too?" Chitose asked.
"It wasn't easy." Patamon replied. "It took us all this time just to find out where they went. And our client was only able to open a small hole for us to go through. We had to convert to our Rookie forms just to squeeze in here."
"Our investigation's have made no salty restaurants so far." Armadillomon added. Earning an odd glance from everyone.
"He means solid results."
"Hmm…" Ryuji folded his arms.
Just then Kate's Styler started beeping. She pressed a few buttons. "Hello?"
"Kate, you there?"
"Keith! I read you! And I found Chitose and Ryuji!"
"Great! Kellyn and I just found Yu and Keisuke."
"That's good news, are they okay?" Chitose asked.
"Yeah, we're fine." Yu's voice replied from the Styler. "And you?"
"We're alright." Ryuji said. "We landed near some giant radio tower."
"Sounds like the Wireless Tower." Summer's voice said. "Alright, I'm on my way to meet up with you."
"Then I'll join Kellyn and the others and we'll head to Rand's place." Ben said. "Where are you guys at?"
"We're in a forest of some kind." Keisuke replied.
"Teakwood. Okay, I'm on my way."
Kate hung up. "Well, there was a bit of a detour, but we'll be back on track soon."
"What the heck was with those birds?" Chitose asked.
Patamon tilted his head. "Birds?"
"Those were the legendary birds." Kate said. "Zapdos, Moltress and Articuno." As they spoke someone was watching from behind a bush. Someone with a red cloak around their body and their face concealed by a hood and a mask that resembled Latias.
"Legendary birds?" Ryuji asked. "Hmm…according to Ben and Summer's report, those three were the "keys" of sorts to unlock the Sky Fortress."
Kate looked at him in surprise. "Professor Hastings let you read the report?"
"You could say that." Ryuji replied. "Frankly if the old man leaves his data base that easy to hack into, he might as well have just let me read it."
"What is this about?" Monodramon asked.
"Nothing important for now. Once we meet up with Keisuke and the others, we'll sort out what to do with you and find your friend."
"As you wish."
Just then they heard a noise and turned around. "Uh-oh." Kate gulped.
Keisuke and Yu were talking with their Digimon while Keith passed back and forth. "What's taking Ben so long?"
"Patience is a virtue Keith." Kellyn replied.
"Yeah, they're also what you see in the hospital."
"Patience, not patients."
"So, this "Digital World" you're from…" Yu said. "There are plenty of creatures like you?"
"Yup!" Otamamon nodded. He then stared at Yu.
"Um…Is something on my face?"
"You smell familiar."
"Huh? What do you mean?"
Keisuke stared at the Otamamon. "Can it be…?"
Suddenly they heard a roar. Keisuke and Yu stood up as Kellyn and Keith looked around. "What was that?!" Keith asked.
Suddenly a massive grey and green blob creature came roaring out of the bushes. "What kind of Digimon is that?!" Yu asked.
"That's a Pokémon!" Kellyn said.
Keith pulled up his Styler. "A Garbodor! A Poison Type! It consumes garbage to make new kinds of poison gas inside its body!"
"That's disturbing." Keisuke muttered.
"But these shouldn't be in Oblivia!" Kellyn said. "This must be what the professor told us about. Pokémon from other habitats appearing!"
The Garbodor roared and spat purple liquid at they boys. The jumped out of the way. "He ain't happy to see us." Keith said. "Let's go Buizel!"
"Pachirisu!" Keith and Kellyn's Partner Pokémon stood in front of them. "Here we go!" Kellyn said as he took aim with his Styler. "Capture-
Just then three more creatures appeared. Two of them were dog like with white fluffy fur, long floppy ears and black faces. The other one was a red bug creature. "Now what?!" Yu shuddered.
"Those are Furfrou!" Keith said. "I've never seen that red thing before though…"
"It's a Kuwagamon!" Tentomon said.
"Another Digimon?!" Keisuke asked.
"Swell, this is quite a mess…" Keith grumbled.
The Garbodor roared again and the Furfrou charged at Keith and Kellyn. "Pachirisu! Spark!"
"Buizel! Aqua Jet!" Cloaked in electricity and water, the Pokémon charged at them. As the Furfrou were knocked back, Kellyn and Keith aimed their Stylers but heard the Kuwagamon come towards them and jumped back.
Tentomon and Otamamon stood in front of Keisuke and Yu. "I-I can take care of this!" the bug nervously said.
"Yu, I'll protect you!" Otamamon said.
"Otamamon?" Yu asked.
"Super Shocker!"
"Lullaby Bubble!" Tentomon shot a bolt from his wings and Otamamon spat bubbles. But they attacks bounced off of Kuwagamon.
"That…looked like it annoyed him more then anything…" Keisuke muttered.
Keith then looked in Yu and Keisuke's direction. "Look out!"
The boys looked to their left to see the Garbodor upon them. "Uh-oh!" Keisuke shuddered. The Pokémon launched one of its arms at them. Keisuke expected an impact as he closed his eyes but heard a clank. Looking back up he saw a black coat. It was worn by a humanoid lion creature with a black hat and pants, and grey hair. He blocked Garbador's attack with a sword. "Wh-what the-
The lion roared as it shoulder charged into Garbodor, knocking it a good distance away. "What the heck is that thing?!" Keith gapped. "So strong…"
"Well, well. What do we have here?" A raspy voice said, directing everyone to a blue cloaked figure, wearing a Latios mask over his face and a hood. He walked towards the lion. "Nice save, BanchoLeomon."
The Digimon glanced behind him at Tentomon and Otamamon. "Heh. You squirts got spirit, I'll give you that. But it takes more then words to bring out your true potential."
The masked man glanced at Kellyn and Keith's wrists. "As I thought. Capture Stylers. You two are Pokémon Rangers."
"And who are you?" Kellyn asked.
"Me? Nobody in particular."
"So, want us to just call you nobody then?" Keisuke squinted.
"I suppose you'll need something to call me huh? Hmmm…" The man looked down deep in thought. "In that case…call me X."
"X?" Yu asked.
"X is often used in Algebra for a value not yet known. Fitting if I do say so myself."
"Okay then oh mysterious "X" should we assume you're a friend or foe?" Kellyn asked.
"Think of us as people passing by." BanchoLeomon replied. "Although "X" our orders last I checked were to avoid sticking out heads out."
The man shrugged. "Couldn't be helped. You know I got a soft spot for people like this."
"Heh. They are an interesting bunch." His Digimon replied. "They befriended Digimon just like that. And already those Digimon are eager to fight for them. But to think Rookie levels can match a Champion is absurd. If you wish to be those humans Partner Digimon you must embrace their determination!"
"Determination?" Yu asked.
X nodded. "That's right. Digimon are affected by human emotions. These emotions grant them power reflecting on their desires." He then glanced at Keisuke and Yu. "You two. Will you look after those little ones?" He then turned towards the Garbador and the Kuwagamon. "My partner and I will deal with this. You only need to watch and learn."
"H-hey, we can't let this guy do all the work!" Tentomon said. "I'm a member of the best hacking team in the Digital World!"
Keisuke looked down. "That's right. What would Erika think if she saw me smear mud at Hudie's good name by cowering behind a stranger and letting them do all the work?" Keisuke stepped forward. "I'm going too! Maybe I only have a Rookie Digimon, but I can still fight with it!"
"You're optimistic." X said. "Not that I'm one to talk but…"
"Wait, Keisuke!" Yu ran next to him. "I'll help! Hey, Otamamon, can you be my partner?"
"Of course!" Yu's Digimon hurried over to BanchoLeomon with Tentomon.
"Heh, heh, heh! Not backing down?" X's Digimon asked. "I'm starting to like you."
"Alright." X chuckled. "If you want to join, I won't stop you. But be careful. Digimon aren't expendable equipment."
"I know." Keisuke nodded. "But I know we can do this!" Suddenly the visor he wore around his neck glowed a bright blue. "Huh? My Digivice!"
A light purple light shined from Yu's pocket. He took a handheld gadget out. "Mine too…What's going on?"
X looked at them in surprise. "That light…can it be?"
Keisuke put his visor on. In front of him a screen appeared displaying a word.
DIGIVOLUTION
"Digivolution? Can this allow Tentomon to Digivolve?" He pressed it and a blue light was launched towards Tentomon. A shell of light formed around him.
"Tentomon Digivolve to…" The shell grew and glowed before shattering and out came a blue beetle with a grey skull, four arms and four wings. "Kabuterimon!"
"Wow! Keisuke, what did you do?!" Keith gapped. "What kind of sudden evolution is this?!"
"Not evolution…" X said. "Digivolution. But for a Digimon and a human that just met to develop the bond and determination needed that fast…"
Yu looked at his Digivice. A screen appeared before him
DIGIVOLUTION
"Let me try!" He pressed his hand on the screen. A bright purple light shinned on Otamamon.
"Otamamon Digivolve to…" A shell formed around it as well. It grew before disappearing leaving Yu's Digimon a green amphibian with a trumpet around its neck. "Gekomon!"
"Alright!"
"His too? Just who are these guys? …Hmmm…" X thought for a moment. "You know, between this and being with Rangers…I think I can trust you with this." X pulled up a few blue monitors and typed a few things. Suddenly Keisuke and Yu's Digivices along with Kellyn and Keith's Stylers started blinking.
INSTALATION COMPLETE
Kellyn looked at his Styler. "What the…?"
"I just sent each of you a Field Guide for Digimon. Use it well."
"How did you hack into the Stylers so fast?!" Keith asked.
Kellyn's Styler displayed something. An image of Keisuke's Digimon. "Kabuterimon. A Champion level Vaccine type. It has ant-like power and the defensive ability of a beetle."
Yu looked at his Digivice as it displayed his Digimon. "Gekomon. Champion level Virus type. The horn on it's neck on the holes in its fingers let it control the emotions of it's opponents."
Garbodor roared and two more Pokémon came. A bee with lance like pincers and a large panda. "A Beedrill and a Pangoro!" Kellyn growled.
X stepped forward. "Well then. Now that your Digimon are Champion level, they're a match for Kuwagamon. Why don't the two of you take it on?" X looked at the Garbodar and its new backup. "My partner and I can handle these three. The pouches over there we can leave to the Rangers."
"Hey, let us take the bigger guys!" Keith objected. "We're Elite Rangers!"
"Too late. They're coming for me and the dogs have taken a liking to ya."
The two Furfrou growled at Kellyn and Keith's Pokemon. "Ugh, let's make this quick!" Kellyn growled.
As X, and the Rangers charged at their opponents, Kuwagamon charged at Keisuke and Yu's Digimon. "Scissor Claw!" The pincers on its head slashed at Kabuterimon and Gekomon, but they jumped back. Kabuterimon slammed its feet into Kuwagamon, knocking it into the dirt.
"Hydro Water!" Gekomon shot a blast of water from his mouth at the Digimon, blowing it back. It snarled as it got up and charged. Kabuterimon charged as well.
"Crescent Leaf!" Kabuterimon's horn and Kuwagamon's pincer glowed green as they rammed into each other stopping in their tracks.
"You got this Kabuterimon!" Keisuke rooted.
"Gekomon, let's give them a hand!" Yu ordered.
"You got it!" Yu's Digimon leapt to the side of the bugs. "Symphony Crusher!" A high pitch noise came from his horn that weakened Kuwagamon enough for Kaubterimon to push it down.
Keisuke's Digimon flew up and gathered a sphere of blue electricity. "Electro Shocker!" It fired the blast at the downed Kuwagamon and blasted it with a violent zap. It then shattered into blue shards.
"That's it! We did it!" Yu cheered.
Suddenly Kuwagamon's shards flew over to Keisuke and went into his Digivice. "What was that?"
Kellyn and Keith drew one last loop around the two Furfrou and they left. "Good work Pachirisu!"
"You too Buizel." Keith nodded before they hurried to Keisuke and Yu. "What happened to that Digimon? Did you two just…?"
"It was converted into data." Kabuterimon explained. "Digimon can be reborn after destruction."
"Okay. But man! Considering you two just met your Digimon that was great work!"
Yu nodded. "We sure showed him!" He and Keisuke high fived.
"What about X?" Kellyn asked. They heard a clang and looked in X's direction. BanchoLeomon had already knocked out the Pangoro and his sword paired one of Beedrill's pincers before he kicked it into a tree knocking it out.
"Wow, he's on a roll!" Keisuke said.
X's eyes were on the Garbodor. "Wait for an opening." The Pokemon inhaled and spat a Sludge Bomb. "Now!"
BanchoLeomon jumped up, over the attack and his fist glowed like the sun. "Flashy Boss Punch!" in mid-air he charged into Garbodor, ramming his fist into it. The Pokemon flew, knocking down a couple of trees before collapsing.
"In one hit…" Kellyn said. "Amazing…"
"Good job." X said to his Digimon before walking back to Keisuke and Yu. "Looks like you handled it just fine. You've adapted to Digimon very nicely…Curious…"
"You're one to talk." Keith said. "You sure know a lot about them."
"Yet not everything. Digimon suddenly appeared here in Oblivia. But nobody knows what brought these mysterious beings to this world."
Kabuterimon and Gekomon reverted back to Tentomon and Otamamon. "Hey, they changed back." Keith said. "That's not like the evolution I know."
"They'll Digivolve again if they need to." X replied. "Just so long as their tamers remember the determination they felt just now." He looked at Keisuke and Yu. "I hope you two will become good friends with your Digimon."
"Of course." Keisuke smiled.
"Hey, guys!" Everyone looked in the direction they heard Ben's voice. The Ranger and his Pichu pushed past some bushes and came into view. "There you are!"
"Yo Ben!" Keith grinned. "You missed out on the action!"
"Action?"
"Yeah. We were attacked by a Digimon and some wild Pokemon." Kellyn said. "Things got dicey before X here showed up and- He looked behind him where X stood but he and BanchoLeomon were gone. "Huh? Guys, where'd X go?!"
Everyone looked around. "He was here a moment ago!" Yu said. "He's fast."
"What in the world are you people talking about?" Ben asked.
"The masked weirdo and his Digimon that just saved our hides!" Keith replied, still looking around.
"A Digimon user? Besides Takumi and the others? You don't think he was from Team One World, do you?"
"No idea…" Kellyn replied.
Ben then took notice to Tentomon and Otamon. "Huh? Who are these guys?"
"These are Tentomon and Otamon." Keisuke said. "They're with me and Yu now."
"You two befriended Digimon here? Well, I guess if you're from the same world as Takumi I shouldn't be surprised. Anyway, we should hurry over to Rands place."
"You're right." Kellyn nodded. "Ben, Pichu, lead the way."
"You got it!"
"Pi!" Pichu and Ben walked away with the others following.
"Uh-oh." Kate gulped. A Devimon and a IceDevimon along with a Dustox, a Mudsdade, a Grimmsnarl and a Milktank approached them. "That can't be good. Those Pokemon aren't supposed to be in Oblivia!"
Monodramon looked at the Devimon and IceDevimon. "Those two are Digimon!"
"What?" Ryuji asked.
The Grimmsnarl growled at the humans. "Uh, guys, those things look pretty angry." Chitose said.
"Get behind me!" Kate said.
"Wait, you're not seriously going to try to take them all on by yourself, are you?!" Patamon asked.
"Sure, I am! I'll have you know I'm a Elite Ranger!"
"You're outnumbered!" Armadillomon said. "It's Sunday side!"
"I think you mean suicide." Chitose said.
"Right, that!"
"We're fighting to!" Monodramon said. "Armadillomon! Patamon!"
"Right!" the three Digimon ran forward.
Ryuji cracked his knuckles and stepped forward. "I might as well join in."
Kate blinked. "Um…excuse me? You want to fight these things with your bare hands?!"
"I've been in a fair share of scuffles in my life."
"And you think that makes you equal to a Pokemon or Digimon? Good grief." A softened voice spoke from right behind Chitose, making everyone turn around to a girl with a red cloak. Her face concealed by the hood and Latias mask. "You're pretty reckless…and maybe a little too nice."
"Who…?" Ryuji looked at her.
"Oh, I'm not criticizing you." The girl giggled. "I happen to be both those things myself. I was told not to attract attention, but how about I lend a hand? Dianamon!"
Just then a white armored Digimon wielding a scythe of some sort that had two blades on each end and wore long knee-high boots with faces landed in front of the enemies making them back up. "Understood."
"What is that?!" Kate asked.
"Another Digimon?!" Monodramon looked at the mysterious tamer. "Just who are you?!"
"My name isn't important." The girl replied.
"Actually, it is." Chitose said. "Kinda need to call you something."
"Hmm…good point…" The girl thought for a moment. "Zero will do."
"Zero?" Kate asked, raising an eyebrow.
"Right. After all I'm nobody in particular. Just someone passing by."
"Can we trust her?" Ryuji whispered to Kate.
"Why are you asking me? Well…we kinda are in a jam, so it'd be a bad idea to turn her away."
"True."
Zero glanced Kate's wrist. "Is that a Capture Styler? So, you're a Pokemon Ranger." Then she looked at Monodramon, Armadillomon and Patamon. Then at Ryuji and Chitose. "Are those three your Digimon by any chance?"
"Uh…I actually don't know how to answer that." Chitose awkwardly replied.
"Okay. You two take notes from me and Dianamon. I would encourage you to try to learn to fight alongside Digimon. Afterall humans and Digimon make each other stronger."
"I'll fight by Ryuji's side." Monodramon said. "Patamon, Armadillomon, you stick with Chitose."
"Okay!" Patamon nodded.
"All left!" Armadillomon added.
"All right! Not left!"
"Heh. Looks like they mean business." Chitose grinned. "I like these guys."
Ryuji nodded. "Try to keep up."
"Heh. Same to you." Monodramon replied.
Suddenly Ryuji and Chitose's pockets started glowing. Ryuji took out his Digivice that glowed red. Chitiose held his as it glowed orange. "What's going on with our Digivices?!" Chitose asked.
Zero looked at them in surprise. "That's…!" A blue screen appeared before both of them.
DIGIVOLUTION
"Digivolution?" Chitose asked. "What in the world is that?"
Ryuji reached up and touched the screen and it emanated light on Monodramon. "Monodramon Digivolve to…" A shell of light formed around him. It grew in size before exploding. The Digimon had orange hair, a helmet over his eyes and green pants. "Strikedramon!"
"Wow!" Kate gasped. "It evolved!"
"Wow, let me try that!" Chitose slammed his hand on the screen in front of him. Light shined on Armadillomon and Patamon.
"Armadillomon Digivolve to…" A shell formed around Armadillomon and grew before dissipating and bringing out a spikey armadillo with a mace on the end of its tail. "Ankylomon!"
"Patamon Digivolve to…" A light shined on Patamon as he was encased in a cacoon of light. He came out as a six-winged angle with long orange hair, a helmet over his eyes and a staff in hand. "Angemon!"
"Digivolution…" Zero said in awe. "And you only just meet these Digimon…To develop a bond with them that fast…"
"Okay, I'm liking these Digimon more and more!" Chitose grinned. "Let's show these chumps a thing or two!"
"Wait." Zero brought up a few screens and pressed some buttons. Ryuji and Chitose's Digivices along with Kate's Styler started beeping.
INSTALATION COMPLETE
Kate looked at her Styler. "What did you-
"I sent each of you a Digimon Field Guide." Zero replied. "It'll let you identify Digimon."
"Like a Browser?" Kate asked.
"Exactly."
"To break through my firewall in no time…" Ryuji looked at his Digivice as it displayed his Digimon. "Strikedramon. Champion level Vaccine type. The "Commando Dragon" that aims to be a Virus Buster."
Chitose looked at his as it displayed one of his Digimon. "Ankylomon. A Champion level Free type Digimon. Its body is covered in hardened skin and has hard protuberances coming out all over giving it a strong charge attack."
Kate looked at her Styler as it displayed his other Digimon. "Angemon. A Champion level Vaccine type. It is said to be a Digimon of perfected virtue that brings happiness but won't stop striking when confronting evil until the opponent is annihilated."
Milktank roared as it charged for Kate. "Starly, Arial Ace!" Her partner rammed her beak into it, stopping it in its tracks.
Zero stepped next to Diamon who faced the Dustox, Mudsdade, and Grimmsnarl. "I'll take these three. Why don't you boys test your new Digimon's Champion forms on Devimon and IceDevimon over there."
"Uh…you sure you don't need help?" Kate asked.
"We'll be fine." Diamamon replied.
Strikedramon stepped forward. "Ryuji. Chitose. We're yours to command."
"Fine by me." Ryuji said.
"Death Claw!"
"Frozen Claw!" Both Devimon and IceDevimon charged at Angemon and Strikedramon. Angemon batted IceDevimon's hand with his rod that he then thrusted into the opponents chest. Strikedramon parried Devimon's claw with one hand and rammed the other into it.
Both Devimon jumped back. "Destruction Cannon!"
"Ice Archery!" The two of them shot projectiles at their opponents.
"Ankylomon! Put that defensive prowess to use!"
"Ok!" The armadillo ran in front of Strikedramon and Angemon and took the attack to the shell no problem.
"Knock them off balance." Ryuji said. "Then we'll finish them while they stagger."
"Leave it to me!" Angemon said reeling a fist back. "Heaven's Knuckle!" He fired a golden beam from his fist that brushed through Devimon and IceDevimon's feet, making them fall over.
"Now!"
"Tail Hammer!" Ankylomon charged and rammed his mace-like tail into Devimon.
"Strike Fang!" Strikedramon coated himself in fire and charged like a fireball into IceDevimon. Both of the Digimon shattered into blue shards. One of them flew into Ryuji's Digivice. The other went into Chitose's.
"What was that?" Chitose asked.
Kate finished capturing the Milktank and hurried to them. "Are you guys alright?"
"Yeah, we're fine." Ryuji replied. "What about Zero?"
Mudsdade stampeded towards Dianamon but she jumped up to avoid its ramming head and smacked it in the face with her weapon. "Wow. She's good." Kate said. Then from behind the Digimon, Dustox shot a blob of web at her that wrapped around her arms, pinning them to her sides and Grimmsnarl charged towards her. "Oh, no! Come she- Dianamon spun in place on one foot like a ballerina, so fast, the Dustox still holding the other end of the web binding her spun with her and was used to bat Grimmsnarl repeatedly before getting knocked across the ground. -needs…our…help?"
"Dianamon. Time to finish this." Zero said.
Dianamon then maneuvered her wrist to toss her weapon into the air. It spun and came down behind her, cutting open the web, freeing her. She picked the weapon back up and flew above the Pokemon. "Good Night Moon!" Her boots glowed with a mysterious light on Dustox, Mudsdade, and Grimmsnarl. One by one they dropped to the ground.
"She knocked all of them out just like that!" Kate said. "Amazing."
"Good work partner." Zero said before looking at Chitose and Ryuiji. Their Digimon returned to their Rookie forms.
"Oh, so they change back after battle?" Chitose asked.
"They can Digivolve back any time you need them to. Just remember to treat them well and stay determined."
"You sure know a lot about these Digimon." Ryuji asked.
"Of course. It's been a while since they mysteriously appeared here in Oblivia. I've had plenty of time."
"Kate, are you there?!" A voice in the distance called.
Kate turned around. "Summer?"
Sure enough, the Ranger hurried up the mountain with Staraptor at your side. "What happened? I heard a lot of noise."
"We had a little issue here, but it's been taken care of. Thanks to Zero here." as Kate turned to gesture to the mysterious Digimon Tamer, she realised she and her Digimon were gone. "Zero?"
Ryuji and Chitose looked around. "Where'd she go?" Ryuji asked.
"You got me." Chitose said. "Strange girl."
"Who's Zero?" Summer asked.
"Some masked Digimon user who helped us out." Kate replied. "You never told us there were more of them."
"There shouldn't be. Unless someone native to Oblivia learned how to use them…Wait…could she have been from Team One World?"
"No idea…"
Summer then glanced at the Digimon near Ryuji and Chitose. "Oh? Who are they?"
"Monodramon, Armadillomon, and Patamon." Ryuji replied. "They're looking for their friend Tentomon."
"Well, let's bring them with us to Rand's place and regroup. Then we'll figure out what to do next. Is that okay with you three?"
"Yes." Monodramon nodded. "Much obliged."
"Alright, this way!" Summer left with the others following.
No this is not a Pokemon cross Digimon cross Megaman fanfic, the names X and Zero are just a reference. And yes Armadillomon learned how to talk in this story, the joke is while he still doesn't understand grammar so to speak.
