After landing on Mt. Layuda, it didn't take long for the heroes to run into Team One World. Even with Matayoshi and Chitose's impressive Ultimate Digimon, Ice and Lavana's appearance further complicated the mission. But then unexpectedly X and Zero arrived to help. And it turn's out they are...
"Red hair…Blue Eyes…and goggles…" one of the Team One World goons shuddered.
Another flinched. "You must be…The Cyber Sleuths!"
Takumi and Ami stood before their friends. Their Digimon stood ready right behind them. "Takumi. Ami." Ben smiled. "It's been too long."
"It sure has." Takumi replied. "Good to see ya Ben."
"Heh. Showing up late and trying to cover it up by acting cool?" Arata chuckled.
"X and Zero were Takumi and Ami Aiba all this time?" Keith asked.
"And a couple of pretty good actors too, don't you think?" Ami winked.
"Guess this explains how Kyoko knew about the armor despite bein' gone for a while." Fei noted.
"Impossible…" Ice growled. "Rumors said around that you two vanished from Oblivia…"
"Who do you think started those rumors?" Rosemon smirked. "Not very bright, are you?"
"Why you…!"
"Where's the Golden Armor you stole?" MegaGargomon asked.
"Safe with the boss." Lavana replied. "And you're never going to find it!"
"We'll see about that in due time." Takumi said, pulling on his glove. "But first things first. Hope you're ready to fight team!"
"Heh. Who do you think your talking to?" Ben grinned.
"It's good to be fighting alongside you again." Summer smiled.
Ami smirked. "Right back at you."
Nokia held up her Digivice. "Let's break on through!"
DNA DIGIVOLUTION
"WarGreymon!"
"MetalGarurumon!"
"DNA Digivolve to…Omnimon!"
"All of the Cyber Rangers back together again!" Takumi grinned punched his palm.
Ami nodded. "These chumps stand no chance!"
"Then let's get to work!" Nokia grinned. "CHAAAAAAAAAAAARGE!"
Everyone charged in different directions and the fighting broke out again. Ben and Takumi ran straight to Ice. "You're done running amok around Oblivia Ice!" the Ranger declared.
"Ugh, I wasn't expecting this. How annoying!"
"Last chance to tell us where the armor is." MegaGargomon warned.
"Don't get full of yourself you chunk of data! I'm not about to submit to a Ranger ever again, Cyber or not!"
"How about a Cyber Sleuth then?" Takumi smirked.
JumboGamemon and Avalugg roared as Pichu and MegaGargomon stepped forward. Meanwhile Ami and Summer stood in front of Lavana. "Will you stick around and fight this time?" Rosemon asked. "Or run away like a coward again?"
"I was not running away from you!" the woman glared. "I just didn't want my makeup to run!"
"That's all it takes to send you packing?" Ami asked. "No wonder Kate and her friends beat you last time."
"You annoying little…! I'll burn you to ash!"
Staraptor and Rosemon charged at Delphox and Goldramon.
"Let's go Ben." Takumi said. "Just like old times!"
"You got it! Capture on!"
Ben fired his Styler at Avalugg as JumboGamemon charged at MegaGargomon. Takumi's Digimon grabbed it by its cannon arms and started to grapple. Soon JumboGamemon was overpowered and pushed aside. Once he saw an opening, he punched his opponent in the face. "Hit him hard pal!" Takumi ordered.
As JumboGamemon stumbled away MegaGargomon's fist glowed green. "Gia Element!" He threw the green light at the Digimon's face and it was knocked over.
"Avalugg, Ice Fang!"
"Pichu, Quick Attack!"
Ice's Avalugg tried to bite at Pichu, but the small Pokemon sped away from its jaws before ramming into it from the side.
"Thundershock!"
Pichu then gathered electricity into its cheeks and zapped it. It roared in pain as it stumbled back as Ben drew more loops.
As that was happening, Rosemon charged at Goldramon and kicked at it, but it caught her by the foot and threw her towards a wall. She spun in midair and landed on it on her feet and looked up just in time to see the Digimon charge at her. "Saint Knuckle!" Rosemon jumped off the wall and over Goldramon as it rammed his it's into the stone, smashing a hole in it. Rosemon then wrapped her whip around its middle and spun repeatedly before slamming it into the ground.
"Keep up the offensive!" Ami ordered.
"Rune Forrest!" Rosemon threw a green light that exploded upon contact with Goldramon.
Staraptor flew around Delphox as it tried to burn him with Mystic Fire. "Hold still you stupid bird!" Lavana growled.
"Arial Ace!" Summer ordered. Staraptor barrel rolled before slamming his beak int Delphox knocking it over. While it was on the ground Summer drew loops around it.
"No more messing around!" Ice yelled. "Avalugg, Blizzard! JumboGameemon! Pulverise that hunk of junk!"
"Ice Archery!" As JumboGamemon fire a large icicle at MegaGargomon from one of its arm cannons, Avalugg shot a blast of freezing wind from its mouth. In mid shot Ben's Styler flew in front on Pichu and MegaGargomon and drew a sign.
"Go, Guardian Sign! Entei, come forth!" A pillar of fire rose, thawing the ice attacks before they could reach their targets. The legendary Entei emerged. "Fire Spin!"
Entei roared as a circle of fire spun around Avalugg and Neptunemon trapping them. Lavana watched and looked at Summer. "A fine idea. Delphox time for a real Fire Spin!" With the flick of her Pokemon's wand, fire spun around Staraptor and Rosemon. "Ha! No dodging now! Goldramon!"
"God Flame!" Her Digimon started charging a gold flame in its mouth.
"Go, Guardian Sign! Suicune, come forth!" A pillar of water arose, dousing the Fire Spin and Suicune emerged just as Goldramon fired his attack. "Hydro Pump!" Summer's legendary Pokemon shot a stream of water that countered the attack and blasted Goldramon, bringing it to the ground.
"Thorn Whip!" Roesmon shot her whip at Delphox, knocking it down. Summer then finished taming it with her Styler.
JumboGamemon fired all of its lasers cannons at Entei, but MegaGargomon ran in between them before opening up his arsenal of weapons. "Burst Shot!" He fired a storm of missiles that collided with each of the attacks.
JumboGamemon got on all fours and opened its mouth. A huge cannon extended forward. "Megatron Hydro Laser!" It fired a much bigger blast before MegaGargomon unleashed his twin shoulder missiles. One of them was barley slowed down by JumboGamemon's attack before colliding into it and the other hit Avalugg. The explosion knocked them both to the ground. While Avalugg was unconscious Ben tamed it with his Styler.
"This can't be…" Ice shuddered. "This is the power of the Cyber Sleuths?"
"How can a bunch of kids be this strong?" Lavana growled.
"Again, Kate and her brother could best you jerks in the past." Ami shrugged. "You shouldn't judge by age alone. It keeps leading to humiliating failures like this."
"Age is but a number after all." Takumi said. "You're Pokemon are free and your Digimon are in no state to fight. Give it up."
Keisuke watched them in amazement. "Incredible…so this is what true heroes can do…"
Ice withdrew JumboGamemon into his Controlvice. Lavana did the same for Goldramon. Ice then faced the cave entrance. "Get in here! Fight on while we…make a tactical retreat!" Ice and Lavana ran outside and a storm of One World Members came charging in.
"Why do they always run?" Ami sighed.
"Shadow Wing!"
"Dark Roar!"
"Heaven's Judgment!"
More attacks were flying around as new Digimon and Pokemon were sent at the heroes. "Ugh! Why are there so many of these punks here!?" Date growled.
"We don't have time for any of this!" Keith said.
"He's right, we can't let them get Zapdos under our noses." Matayoshi said.
Takumi nodded. "Ben, Summer, get going. We'll handle things here."
Nokia grinned at Yuuko, Yuugo and Arata. "Are you guys thinking what I'm thinking?" They smiled back and nodded. "Hey, Takumi, Ami!" both sleuths turned around to look at her. "We got this so just go on ahead with them already!"
"Huh?"
"What do you mean "huh?" we can handle ourselves!" Arata said.
"You've fought with Ben longer than us. You're best suited to join him." Yuugo said.
"I agree." Yuuko nodded. "The rest of us are going to stay here and fight."
"You still owe us for being late!" Nokia added. "So, time for you to do your share of the work and take that bird down!"
Ben nudged Takumi on his shoulder. "You heard them. Let's do this." he said with a grin.
Ryuji turned to one of his friends. "Keisuke, go with them! The rest of us will be enough to handle this!"
"Okay!"
Ben and Summer whistled and Entei, Suicune and Staraptor hurried over to them. Ben and Summer climbed onto their Legendary Pokemon before helping Takumi and Ami on. "Put your Digimon into your Digivices!" Summer said. "Keisuke, you take Staraptor and Pichu!"
"Right!" Keisuke picked up Pichu before he Takumi and Ami withdrew their partners and climbed onto Staraptor.
"Don't let them get away!" One of the One World members ordered as his Simisage ran towards Staraptor only for Cyberdramon to ram into it from the side.
Ryuji stepped in front of it with Arata and Darkdramon. "You'll have to get through us first." The taller hacker said.
"Takumi, Ami, go!" Arata yelled.
"Good luck guys!" Ben said before they took off.
"Don't need it." Keith grinned. "Showtime gang!"
In a dark room elsewhere a man with a blond hair and shades in a peculiar black uniform stood in front of a staircase leading to a large chair where a man sitting in it in the shadows looked at monitors. In one monitor he saw Ben, Summer, Takumi, Ami, and Keisuke moving ahead up the mountain. In the other he saw the rest of the team fighting Team One World. "The Cyber Sleuths have returned." The masked man said in a altered voice. "No…they never left. They simply decided to show themselves."
"Ice and Lavana lost." The blond man said.
"Of course, they did. The odds were against them. I do not expect the members I dispatched to win either."
"What? But sir, why send so many of our personal if you do not think they'll win?"
"They broke their little gang in two. Only Ben Natsuya, and Summer Minami need to reach Zapdos. The fewer allies they have with them the easier it will be for me to make my move." He then looked down at the man. "You suddenly joining our ranks after escaping Ranger custody was unexpected. And recent. But you did bring with you a number of allies from your former team to join our ranks. For that I made you a Commander. Yet part of me still is unsure of your potential use."
"Sir, with all due respect, I previously gave orders to Ice and Lavana. I easily outclass them."
"And yet you were defeated time and time again."
The blond scowled.
"Does that anger you? Of course, it does. I know what the humiliation of defeat feels like. Unfortunately, I did not ever get my chance of revenge on the one who wronged me. So, I can empathise with you. Hence an offer I wish to make."
"An offer?"
"Even though Ben's group shrank, there is one person in particular I do not wish to see me yet. Now is not the time."
"Who is it? One of the Rangers? Or the Cyber Sleuths?"
"No." The man pointed to Keisuke on the monitor. "That boy."
"Why? What's so special about him? He's not even one of the "Cyber Rangers"."
"That is none of your concern. Separate him from the others before they reach Zapdos. And I will help you get the revenge you have long desired."
"You mean that?!"
"Of course."
"Then it shall be done! I already have some traps in place to use! I'll be taking my leave." With that he hurried out of the room.
The man on the throne stayed put as a voice echoed in his head. "Why not let him see us? It would be funny to see how he reacts."
"Patience my friend, I'm just waiting for the right moment. But I promise you it will be worth the wait."
"Oh? You have another plan?"
"Indeed, I do. Trust me, you'll love it." He then stood up. "In the meantime, we should depart as well."
Back inside the mountain, Entei, Suicune and Staraptor hurried on ahead. "Boy, am I glad to have you two back." Summer said, looking at Ami.
Ami smiled in return. "Heh. That should be our line."
"Oh hey, Keisuke, this means your team found everyone they were looking for." Ben said. "See guys Keisuke-
"Is from our world, we know." Takumi replied.
"Oh. You know him Takumi?" Summer asked.
"Sort of."
"Yu and I go to the same school as him and Ami." Keisuke explained. "We don't share any classes, but I pass by them sometimes in the halls."
"That's right." Takumi nodded. "Still, I was surprised to see you two here."
"Yuuko and Yuugo's father sent us here to retrieve you. In about a month a program in Ryuji's Digivice will send us home."
"Why did he send you?" Ami asked.
"Well, when Yuuko and Yuugo contacted him they told him about the Digimon, so he thought a Hacking Team like ours was a good choice for the job."
"A Hacking Team?"
"You're a hacker?" Takumi asked giving him a surprised look.
"Yeah. Wait, don't look at me like that, we don't do anything bad! Hudie just uses their skills to help people! We're more like handymen."
"Huh…I see…"
"Still, I'm shocked that X and Zero were you. I couldn't even make out your voices with those masks on."
"I'll say." Ben grinned looking behind him. Takumi and Ami still wore the cloaks behind them like capes. "The mysterious hero look suits you two."
Takumi chuckled bashfully. "Heh, heh…"
"Takumi and Ami…" Keisuke thought quietly to himself. "Both of them have good grades in all subjects and are the famous Cyber Sleuths working for a detective at a young age. And here they're hailed as heroes…Heh. Not everyone is born equally, I guess. That's why background characters like me exist."
"We're getting close." Ben said. "Still, no Pokemon in sight."
"And this place was swarming with One World troops." Summer added. "I'm surprised they haven't reached Zapdos already. It looks like they've been here for quite some time."
"Yeah…" Takumi muttered. "A long time…" Suddenly a bolt of lighting brushed past Staraptor and it lost balance and crashed into the ground. Keisuke and Pichu rolled on the floor before coming to a halt. "Keisuke!"
Another blast landed in front of Raikou and Entei, making them stop. They looked up to see a Toxtricity, and a Zebstrika. Behind them were a Giromon, a Ghoulmon and a Black Ghoulmon.
The Ranger and Cyber Sleuths got off the Pokemon and Takumi and Ami hurried over to Keisuke. "Keisuke, are you okay?!" Takumi asked.
The boy groaned as he got up. "Yeah, I'm fine." They brought their three Digimon out and but their Digivices over their eyes. "Giromon, Ultimate Level Vaccine. It repels intruders with all attacks it can muster."
"Ghoulmon and BlackGhoulmon." Takumi said, scanning the other two Digimon." Mega Level Virus. Once high-ranking Angel Digimon that fell into the Dark Area."
Ami looked at one of the Pokemon. "Zebstrika. Electric Type. It shoots lighting from its maim and the sound of lightning reverberates when it runs at full speed."
Summer scanned the other. "And Toxtricity. Poison Electric Type. It chugs stagnant water to absorb any toxins it contains."
"Looks like we'll have to get through them first." Ben said.
Takumi turned to Keisuke. "Your Digimon is also Ultimate level. Can you take Griomon? I want to see how far you've come since I first saw you."
"Okay."
"I guess the Ghoulmon are ours huh?" Ami asked. "Well, if we're going to fight Viruses, we shouldn't do so in a Data form. Rosemon!"
"Rosemon Slide Evolution! Magnadramon!"
"MegaGargomon, let's switch to something better for a one on one!"
"MegaGargomon Slide Evolution! BanchoLeomon!"
Keisuke looked at Takumi's Digimon. "That's the Digimon you had when I first saw you as X! So, you didn't have multiple Digimon, but your Digimon can change forms…"
"A neat trick for changing tactics on the fly." Takumi grinned. "Now let's go!"
The allied Digimon and Pokemon charged. "I'll get the Toxtricity." Ben said. "Sums, the last one's all yours!"
"Right!" Summer nodded. "Capture on!"
Entei summoned pillars of fire that rose in a column moving towards Toxtricity. The Pokemon jumped to the side and evaded the one coming for it, but the moment it landed, Entei bashed into it with its head. Giromon charged at MegaKabuterimon with its chainsaw in hand. MegaKabuterimon rammed his horn into the weapon. They grappled for a but until he lifted his head up and made the other Digimon back away.
"Big Bang Boom!" Giromon threw a grenade at him, that blew him to the ground.
"Come on, stand up!" Keisuke said. "We can take this guy!"
MegaKabuterimon got up as Giromon started charging at him again. "Speed Break!" Giromon glowed blue and started to slow down. MegaKabuterimon took that opening to charge and bash his horn into it, ramming it into the ceiling.
"Death Arrow!" Ghoulmon and BlackGhoulmon short dark lasers from the eyes on the palms of their hands. BanchoLeomon rolled away from one of them and charged towards Ghoulmon and Magnadramon countered the other with an attack of her own.
"Fire Tornado!" Her flames pressed against the attack and blew BlackGhoulmon over.
BanchoLeomon ran up to Ghoulmon. "Flash Boss Punch!" He hit it so hard it went flying into the air and landed on BlackGhoulmon.
"Finish them!" Takumi said.
"Awesome Quake!"
"Shining Laser!" Both of Takumi and Ami's Digimon landed a powerful combined blow that finished both of the enemy Mega Level Digimon off. They shattered and went to the Tamer's Digivices. Just after, Giromon fell to the ground.
"Horn Buster!" MegaKabuterimon shot a golden blast from his horn at it, and it was destroyed and sent to Keisuke's Digivice.
Ami smiled at Keisuke. "Nice work."
"Thanks. Now that just leaves…" He looked at the Toxtricity. "Wait a sec, is that thing seriously doing the air guita-
"Move!" Ben yelled. Everyone backed away as electricity burst around it. Entei and Suicune were pushed back. It kept playing until Pichu stood in front of it with his ukulele and started playing music, emanating a larger mass of electricity.
"What is this, a rock battle?" Keisuke asked dumbfound.
"Yeah, go Pichu!" Ben grinned. "Show him how it's done!"
Both played louder and faster but Pichu soon overpowered Toxtricity and it was hit with electricity. It screeched before slumping and then was struck by a Hydro Pump courtesy of Suicune.
Zebstrika charged at them, but Staraptor rammed into it's side, making it stumble to its side. It tried to get up, but Entei hit it with a Fire Blast as it tried to do so. Once both Pokemon were on the ground Ben and Summer captured them. "Done." Ben said before looking around. "Still, it's strange. Those guys were clearly waiting for us, but I don't see any of Team One World around."
"Well, those Pokemon definitely aren't native to Oblivia." Ami said. "What could it mean?"
They didn't notice that a man with blond hair in a black uniform hid behind a rock and held a remote out towards them before pressing a button. Keisuke heard a sound and looked up at the top of the left wall. It started to glow blue. He looked at the right wall. It did the same. Then he looked in front of him where Takumi and Ami stood.
"What's that noise?" Takumi asked. Without warning Keisuke pushed him and Ami to the ground just as a blue, transparent wall appeared separating them from him. Another wall appeared behind Keisuke and his Digimon. "What the…?" Takumi looked behind him as he got up. "Keisuke!"
"A trap?!" Ami ran up to the wall. MegaKabuterimon rammed his horn into it but it didn't do a thing.
"Aw nuts." Keisuke sighed. "Welp, I'm stuck."
"Who did this?!" Ben asked looking around.
"Whoever they are they must have been trying to stop us from getting to Zapdos!" Magnadramon replied.
"Well at least they didn't get you." Keisuke said as he put on his Digivice. He displayed a monitor in front of him. "Aye. Never seen anything like this…You guys get going, I'll try to hack my way out!"
"What? We can't just leave you here!" Ami protested.
"This was clearly someone's attempt to stall us from Zapdos! We can't give them more time!"
"He may have a point." BanchoLeomon said. "They already have two of the Golden Armor Parts. Heck, who's to say they don't have three? We can't let them get this piece."
"He's right…" Ben reluctantly admitted. "But I don't want to leave you alone here. Whoever did this might still be around. Entei, Suicune, can you two wait with Keisuke just in case?"
"Huh? What if you need them to fight Zapdos?" MegaKabuterimon asked.
"We'll be fine." Summer smiled. "I'm more worried about you two."
"Well don't be." Keisuke replied, still operating his Digivice. "This is far from my first hack."
"…Right…" Takumi muttered. "Well…good luck with that. Let's go." He then hurried on ahead with the rest of the team. "Keisuke's a hacker huh?"
"Something wrong?" Ben asked as they ran.
"Well…Remember when we explained our first adventure with Digimon?"
"Yeah."
"And how our world was essentially rebooted after the battle with the Mother Eater?"
"Right." Summer nodded.
"Well before the reboot-In fact shortly before we meet our Digimon-Keisuke was accused of being a malicious hacker of sorts."
"What? Really?" Magnadramon asked.
"That's right." Ami nodded. "It got so bad he wasn't allowed into school. Yu was the only one who defended him, but Takumi and I also had our doubts about it."
"Why's that?" BanchoLeomon asked.
"He just…well…doesn't seem they type to be a devious hacker."
"True." Ben nodded. "Keisuke seems like a good person."
"Well that too, but…What's a nice way of putting this? …He's a pretty…typical person. Average grades, normal family, doesn't have many interests. I didn't think he'd be capable of doing the things he was accused of…But now that I know he's a hacker here…Well, I still don't think he's evil or anything. I just find it odd that he's a hacker now."
"Ami."
The girl looked at Summer. "Yeah?"
"Not everyone is who they seem to be."
Everyone thought back to the Societea. "True…" Ami then groaned weakly and slowed down with her brother.
"Ami?" Summer and Ben stopped and looked at them.
"Ngh…" Takumi leaned against a wall with a hand on his forehead.
"Takumi? What's wrong?!" Ben asked.
"N-nothing." Takumi replied with a smile. "I'm fine."
"Yeah, we're good." Ami added trying to brush it off with a grin.
"Are you sure?" Summer asked.
"Of course, now let's hurry." Takumi said going on ahead with his sister. Their Digimon looked at them uneasily before following.
They stopped when they came across the stone slab. "Here we are." Ben said. He drew Raikou's Guardian Sign on it and it disappeared in a flash of light. "Zapdos is just ahead. Everyone ready?" All humans, Pokemon and Digimon in the team nodded.
