Despite the heroes soothing Zapdos and finding the third piece of Golden Armor, a masked man calling himself the leader of Team One World arrived to steal the ancient gear. With Takumi and Ami's investigations taking their toll on them, the team returned to Rand's house to rest, while their consider their next move...
The next day Everyone gathered in the living room again. Well, almost everyone.
"Are Takumi and Ami still asleep?" Nokia asked.
"Sound." Terriermon replied.
"Sheesh, talk about lazy." Date muttered.
"Hey now. Heroes need rest too." Chitose said. "And those two have been working on next to no sleep for about a week."
"I agree." Kyoko nodded. "Let's let them sleep in. They earned it. And they'll need their full strength for when we decide our next move."
"Which iiiiiiiiiiiis…?" Keith asked.
"Well, the next time Team One World exposes themselves will likely be when they know where the last piece of the Golden Armor is. If we wait for that, they'll snag it before we can find them."
"Then the only option is to find the last part first." Summer said. Everyone nodded.
"But where do we even start?" Date asked. "It could be anywhere."
They heard a yawn and looked to the entrance of the room to see a groggy Takumi walked over to them. "Good morning."
"Wakie, wakie Sleepy Sleuth!" Nokia grinned, ruffling Takumi's hair.
"Up and at em, eh Tak?" Chitose grinned.
Takumi sighed and glanced at Ben. "Did you tell everyone about that?"
Ben smirked. "Maybe."
"Wonderful. So, what's going on here?"
"We're trying to figure out how to find that last part of the Golden Armor before Team One World does." Kate replied.
"Yeah. Guess that should be our top priority." Takumi said, rubbing his eyes. "At least we don't have to worry about the legendary birds going crazy in the sky."
Something then came to mind. "Oh, wait! I just remembered!" Summer said, standing up. "We still haven't told Supurna the good news! We can't say our Mission is complete yet!"
"Then I guess we Rangers should get going and report." Keith said standing up.
"Well let's go then." Kate said, getting up.
Latios carried Ben and Kellyn. Latias carried Keith and Kate. Summer rode on her Staraptor. They landed in Aqua Resort and spotted Supurna looking at the sea. "Hey, Supurna!" Ben waved.
"Oh, Rangers!" Supurna ran up to them. She then looked to the skies. "Hey, look at that! The bird Pokemon have returned to the sky It's all thanks to you, Rangers! Thank you so much! I'm sure the bird Pokemon are grateful for your help, too! It's a Mission Clear!"
Ben, Summer, Kellyn, Keith, and Kate triumphantly posed. "Mission Clear!"
"The next time I see Rand, I'll tell him lots of great things about all of you! Please let me do at least that for you, okay? See you! Thanks again!" She then walked away, waving.
"Now the Pokemon in the sky can relax." Summer said.
"But we can't." Ben said. "We need to find that last Armor piece before you-know-who." Suddenly Ben's Styler started beeping. "What's this? I have a voicemail. I wonder who it's from."
"Play it." Kellyn said.
Ben pressed a button. "Ummm…Is it this button? Testing, testing, can you hear me? It's me. Red Eyes."
Everyone gasped.
Back at Rand's place everyone gathered around. Ami still was asleep and not present. "I suppose we could always call more Rangers in." Matayoshi said. "But I'd hate to trouble the Union more then we already have."
"It'll be more trouble for them if the Sky Fortress rises up again." Fei said.
"Actually there is one thing. But it's only a guess Ami and I have made. See back at Mt. Layuda- Just then Takumi's Digivice started to ring. "Hold that thought." He immediately picked it up. "Hello?"
A monitor displaying Summer appeared. "Guys, something's come up."
"Is it Team One World?" Arata asked.
"No, it's Red Eyes. He sent Ben a message just now."
"Red Eyes?" Ryuji asked. "That man from earlier?"
"That's right. Ben's sending it to Kyoko's Digivice. Give it a listen."
Kyoko's Digivice pinged and Kyoko opened a menu before finding and playing the message. "Ummm…Is it this button? Testing, testing, can you hear me? It's me. Red Eyes. I watched you guys capture the legendary Pokemon from afar. Impressive, Rangers. You too Cyber Sleuths. And you, newbies with the blue jackets aren't half bad either. I have something I want to show you. I'll be waiting at the base of Mt. Sorbet. Ben. Takumi. I want you two to meet me there. Um, how do you turn this thing off? Oh, is this it?"
"Ha, ha, ha. Red Eyes is surprisingly bad with technology, isn't he?" Takumi teased.
"Never mind that, what do you think he wants to show off?" Arata asked. "And why does he want you and Ben specifically?"
"This could be a trap." Yuuko said. "I don't trust him."
"But it might not be." Takumi said. "What if he found out something about Team One World? We're desperate for leads."
"And Red Eyes isn't completely heartless like Purple Eyes." Yuugo said, looking at his sister. "Remember how he traded you and Summer for Blue Eyes? He seemed genuinely worried about her. He even got mad at the Pinchers that ambushed us for putting her in danger."
"I agree." Kyoko replied. "Sorry to do this after you just got your well needed rest Takumi, but can you go over there and find out what he wants?"
"Sure thing." Takumi nodded. "Hey, Keisuke, do you mind coming with me? If it comes down to a fight with him and a bunch of Pinchers, I'd feel better if you were around."
"I would appreciate that." Kyoko said looking at Keisuke. "It would be reassuring to know someone's keeping an eye on my assistant and making sure he doesn't overwork himself again."
"Uh, sure I guess. Oh, hey, Ryuji, didn't you want to tell Takumi and Ami something?"
"Oh, right." The man sighed. "Well…it's nothing too urgent. But remind me Takumi, when you get back and once your sister wakes up, we do need to talk."
"Is something wrong?" Takumi asked.
"It's…" Ryuji sighed again. "I'll tell you both when you get back, alright?"
"Okay…?"
"Alright. We'll met you guys as Aqua Resort." Summer said. "Then we'll go to Mt. Sorbet together. We sent Kate back so you guys can continue looking into things while we confront Red Eyes."
"Good idea." Matayoshi nodded. "Best not to have all our Rangers charge into a potential trap."
"See you soon." She then hung up.
Arata came back from a closet and threw his, and Takumi's heavy coats to Keisuke and Takumi. "Here. You'll be needing these."
"Thanks." Takumi said, flinging his yellow coat over his shoulder. "Well, we're off."
"Wait." Kyoko said. "You two should have some caffeine in you before you go."
"Thanks!" Takumi nodded peppily.
"Uh, I'm gonna go wait outside!" Terriemron yelled running for the door as fast as his little legs could carry him.
"Suit yourself." Kyoko replied. "I'm working on a new blend."
"Okay…" Keisuke remembered something like this from his original first encounter with Kyoko. And the strange ominous feeling was starting to come back…
"Anyone else like some?"
"N-no thanks, I drank too much coffee already this morning." Matayoshi replied.
"I'll try some." Chitose said.
"Good." Kyoko smiled as she got another cup.
"Uh, Chitose, there's something I need to tell you…" Matayoshi said.
"I know, I know, she's like family to you so no getting too friendly or it's the slammer for me."
"Well, that too but-
"It's ready." Kyoko said.
"Oh, this won't end well…" Arata muttered under his breath as Takumi, Keisuke and Chitose walked over to the counter.
"What's with you guys?" Yu asked. "Don't like coffee?"
"Sure, we do." Nokia replied. "We just dread the Beverage of Mass Destruction."
"What are you…wait, what's that smell?" Ryuji asked.
"We're off!" Takumi peppily walked out of the house carrying Keisuke on his back. They couldn't get a look at Keisuke's face, but he didn't seem conscious.
"What happened to Keisuke?" Yu asked.
Chitose hobbled over to them. Ryuji turned around and was startled at what he saw. "Chitose?! What happened?! You look awful!"
"How was the coffee?" Arata asked.
"Delicious. So good I can feel my organs shutting down. Nice knowing y'all." Chitose then passed out on the floor.
Ryuji and Yu hurried to him. "Chitose!"
Matayoshi stood there and groaned. "Tried to warn him."
As MegaGargomon and MegaKabuterimon flew through the skies, they passed by all sorts of flying Pokemon. "Guess that blend just wasn't for you." Takumi said.
Keisuke was leaning over gasping. "Who puts mushrooms and a bunch of things they couldn't even identify into their coffee…"
"You okay?" MegaKabuterimon asked uneasily.
"I think I'll live…Hey, Takumi?"
"Yeah?"
"Why did you want me to come with you? Wouldn't Nokia or one of your friends who fought these Pinchers with you before be a better choice?"
"I dunno. I guess I figured it wouldn't hurt for one of the new guys to see how fights with them go. Expand horizons, you know?"
"Okay, then why me out of all of us from Hudie and the new Ranger?"
"Well…I like your attitude, I guess. No. It's not just that. You and I are more alike then you realize. We're both in a unique situation back home."
"Huh?"
The conversation ended when Sophian Island came into view and Ben and Summer waved their hands as they landed. Once Takumi and Keisuke got off their Digimon, they went back to Rookie form. "Sorry for the wait." Takumi said. "Any idea what he wants?"
"Not a clue." Kellyn replied. "Good call bringing backup though. No telling where this'll lead us."
"I don't think Red Eyes is the type to spring a trap at this point." Summer said. "Let's go to Mt. Sorbet."
"Red Eyes?" Ami asked from the couch she sat on.
"That's right." Yuuko nodded. "He wants to show us something at Mt. Sorbet. And he asked for Ben and your brother by name."
"Uh oh. They were the ones who pummeled him on Mt. Sorbet. Do you think he wants revenge?"
Right now it was just them, Kate, and Nokia in the room. The others were elsewhere. "I hope not." Nokia said. "But hey, this is Takumi and Ben! They'll just beat him again!"
"I guess…"
"Oh, by the way Ami." Kate said.
"Yes?"
The Ranger grinned at her. "I hear you got the hots for that Arata guy. You hooked up yet?"
Ami's face went deep red as Kate and Nokia mischievously grinned at her. "WH-I-THAT'S NOT-
"Wow, look at that blush! You're right Nokia, she is more fun to poke fun at then you and her brother!"
"I told you not to talk about that!" Nokia glared. "Stay focused on Ami-Whammy and Geekta!"
"Why does everyone assume I'm in love with Arata?!" Ami glared.
"Because you do a poor job at hiding it! Right Yuuko?"
"Sorry Nokia, but I don't see what you're getting at." The raven-haired girl bluntly replied.
"What? Seriously?! I mean come on Yuuko, I know you're not the most social girl around but it should be obvious to anyone that Arata and Ami would make a good couple!"
"I honestly don't see it."
"You don't?" Ami asked.
"No. I mean, I just don't understand what it is you would see in Arata."
"What? That's kinda cold, don't you think?" Kate asked.
"Yeah, I mean sure, he's a bit of a weirdo but…" Nokia admitted.
"Hey, he's not that weird." Ami said.
"He is also a hacker. It's hard to read people like that." Yuuko said.
Ami glared and clutched her fists. "Well if that isn't the pot calling the kettle black-
"And he has some odd interest. He's kind of a nerd."
"He's a bit of an otaku, so what?!" Ami glanced away with her arms folded. "I for one think it's kind of cute." There was nothing but silence after that. What Ami just said then clicked to her. "Please tell me I didn't just say that out loud." When she had the nerve to glance her eyes at her friends Yuuko was smiling and Nokia and Kate were grinning.
"So, it is true." Yuuko said simply.
"Yuuko, you are a genius!" Nokia grinned.
Ami picked up a pillow, laid down on the couch and buried her head and beat red face under it. "Yuuko, I seriously hate you."
Elsewhere in the house, Arata was fiddling with his Digivice. "I can't believe I'm saying this, but I think I'm finally getting used to all of this as my daily life."
"Is that so?" He turned around in surprise and saw Ryuji. "So, this is where you were."
"Oh, it's you…how's your friend?"
"Chitose? He seems better." Ryuji muttered. "I think. His face is returning to a normal color at least. How do Takumi and Kyoko stomach that coffee?"
"Before it was just Kyoko. But now Takumi and Ami drink it in joy. Anyway, did you need something?"
"Yes, I wanted to talk to you. When we found Keisuke in that trap on Mt. Layuda I was amazed with how fast you helped us get past the security of the programing."
"I can't take all the credit, you and your team did a lot."
"Please, we just followed your lead. You're pretty good kid."
"It was nothing." Arata said blankly.
"You're skilled for someone your age. We could use those skills in Hudie. What do you thi-
"Pass."
"That was quite a firm no."
"Nothing personal." Arata replied while saying "I think." to himself. "I just have no interest in joining a hacker team after I left my old one."
"You were part of a hacker team before?"
"Long story. I'd rather not talk about it."
"Fair enough." Ryuji said. "But let me know if you change your mind. We're not like most pinheads who only see hacking as a means to cause trouble. We just try to improve our skills and use them to help others."
Arata stayed silent as Ryuji walked away. "He forgot about everything completely…Probably for the best."
"I SAID GO AWAY!" Arata lost his grip on his Digivice and fumbled before catching it as he heard Ami shout from elsewhere in the house.
Shortly after, Nokia, Yuuko and Kate ran into the room. All three of them were clearly scared. "Yikes, she was mad." Kate muttered.
"I thought she was going to send BanchoLillymon after us…" Yuuko shivered. "And she and Takumi called me the black hearted."
"Nokia, what did you do now?" Arata groaned.
"Hey, it's your fault too ya know!" the girl replied.
"How the heck is it my fault?!" Just then the doorbell rang. "Oh great, what fresh chaos is this?"
Keisuke shivered as the team entered snowy terrain. "Man, it's still cold out here!"
"Not as cold as last time though." Summer said. "Must be because we claimed down Articuno."
They kept walking until a man came into view. "Over there." Kellyn said. "There he is."
"Hey, Red Eyes! What's with the trying to look cool?" Summer asked as they approached.
Next to Red Eyes was a tall Pokemon that resembled some kind of bird with no wings and long legs and a Digimon with a silver body, a black backwards cap and a small volcano on his back, holding a mic. "I've been waiting, Rangers!" He glanced at Takumi and chuckled. "I heard the rumors, but I doubted you would leave Oblivia when trouble's brewing."
"You got me." Takumi plainly replied. "So, what did you call us over for? And why me and Ben specifically? Want payback for us humiliating you on this mountain last time?"
"Exactly!"
"I knew it!" Keith glared. Everyone got into a stance ready to fight.
Red Eyes grinned. "…I'm kidding. The truth is, I've been wondering about those three legendary Pokemon. I did terrible things to them, so I owe them a debt. I thought I should do something when I saw them in that really agitated state."
"Red Eyes…I didn't know you cared about Pokemon." Summer said.
"Yeah, guess you do have a heart." Terriemron added.
Red Eyes sighed. "Just be quiet and listen. I thought that there must be something agitating them. So, I searched the area close to where they were flying, with these two." He said pointing a thumb at the Pokemon and Digimon behind him. "And that's when we found this helmet." He stepped to the side to show them the Golden Helmet behind him.
Everyone's eyes widened. "Is that what I think it is?" Kellyn asked.
"That's the…!" Summer was too shocked to finish.
"…Last piece of the Golden Armor!" Ben said.
"Pichu! Pichu!" Ben's Pokemon glared at it.
"So, there are more pieces of the armor, then?" Red Eyes asked.
"We found all of the pieces, except for the helmet, at the peaks of the mountains where those three live." Ben said. "Though before we could grab then Ice, Lavana and their new boss snatched them up…"
"Ice and Lavana?"
"Former members of Team Dim Sun." Keith explained. "Now they're commanders of Team One World. Didn't you see them and the armor? I though you saw us confront the birds."
"From a distance. I couldn't see everything. And I left once you were done. They must have shown up after I did."
"Even though the Evil Ruler is gone, they were still being influenced by the Golden Armor." Summer said.
Red Eyes held a hand up. "I'll say this to defend their honor. I think they didn't succumb to an evil power but were fighting it in their own way."
"You know, he might be onto something." Keisuke said. "That might be why they were flying around the sky wildly without returning to their nests. To limit their exposure to their armors power. Or maybe they were fighting it while running wild."
Red Eyes nodded. "Perhaps. Or maybe they wanted you Rangers to know this."
"Well they certainly got out attention when we came to Oblivia that's for sure." Keisuke groaned as he remembered being knocked out of the sky.
"I bet Red Eyes is right." Takumi said. "That's why they went back to the peaks of the mountains, where the pieces of armor were causing them pain and waited for us."
"Thanks for showing us this Red Eyes." Ben said. "We were desperate on how to find this thing before Team One World. If it fell into their hands before you found it…"
Summer nodded. "We'll be responsible for taking the Golden Armor back to the Ranger Union. So, don't worry."
Red Eyes nodded with a smiled. "I'd be grateful if you did." His grin then grew. "Well, then. This is a bit abrupt, but…How about we put a price on this golden treasure?"
Everyone was briefly shocked into silence. "I'm sorry, what?" Terriemron asked, raising an ear.
"The fate of world could be riding on this thing and you want to sell it?!" Keith yelled.
Red Eyes picked up the helmet. "Ha, ha, ha. Of course! I don't have a drop of volunteer spirit in me."
Everyone groaned. "You have got to be kidding me…" Tentomon muttered.
"And here I was foolish enough to be moved!" Summer grumbled.
"Once a crook, always a crook I guess." Keisuke sighed.
"Think on it and in the meantime…" he glanced at Ben and Takumi. "Let's have a fair fight for old times' sake!" He snapped his fingers and both his Pokemon and his Digimon punched the ground. A ring of fire swooped in, surrounding Ben, Takumi, Terriermon, and Pichu, trapping them in with Red Eyes and hit Pokemon and Digimon. The others were cut off.
"Ben!" Summer tried to see past the flames.
"This is why you wanted us." Takumi said. He then glanced at his opponents as he put on his goggles. "Blaziken. Fully evolved Fire/Fighting Type Pokemon. It has incredibly strong legs and and blows intense flames from its wrists in battle. Volcanomon, Ultimate Level Data Type Digimon. The volcano on its back erupts when its anger peeks and it's voice shakes heaven and earth."
"Takumi! What should we do?" Ben asked.
"I guess we have no choice but to humor this jerk." Takumi's eyes glowed yellow. "You want to fight like old times Red Eyes? I'll take you down just as I did back then!"
DIGIVOLUTION
"Terriemron Warp Digivolve too…Zudomon!"
Ben looked at the opposing Pokemon. "Fighting Type huh? I got just the thing! Go, Guardian Sign! Latios, come forth!" Ben drew a Sign in the sky that flashed and Latios flew over.
"Now, I don't need an answer." Red Eyes said as his Digimon and Pokemon stepped forward. "I'm ready to go. Let's go, my adversaries!" He performed his signature pose as Ben aimed his Styler and Pichu got out his ukulele.
"Capture on!" Ben fired his Styler at Blaziken. As it looped around the Pokemon it turned around and threw a kick that shot fireballs at it, forcing Ben to pull away as his Styler was damaged.
"Ocean Wave!" Zudomon shot a blast of water at Volcanomon who jumped over the attack with his fist glowing red.
"Wolkenapalm!" He slammed his fist down on Zudomon's head. Takumi's Digimon winced before swinging his hammer upward at the opponent, but Volcanomon jumped away. Zudomon jumped at it and swung down. Volcanomon blocked the hammer with his arm for a bit before Zudomon kicked him forward.
Latios flew past Blaziken as it tried to kick him. Then Latios whirled around and shot a gold beam at Red Eyes' Pokemon who backflipped over it. "Blaze Kick!" As soon as Red Eyes gave orders, it zoomed into Latios with it's foot on fire, slamming Latios into the snow. Latios was pinned down for a bit before spinning Blaziken off of it and shooting golden spheres, bombarding it until Volcanomon threw Zudomon into Latios.
He then held his mick close as the volcano on his back went off. "Big Bang Voice!" His shout echoed around the area with so much intensity, both Latios and Zudomon were blown over.
"Is that the best you can do?" Red Eyes grinned. "I'm sure you can do better than that!"
"Heh…" Ben smirked back. "You asked for it. Go, Pichu!"
"Pi!" With a lighting fast Quick Attack, Pichu zoomed into Blaziken's left foot, making him lose balance. Then he turned around and rammed into his back, knocking him over. "Pichu!" He then sent a bolt into Volcanomon, stunning him.
"Zudomon, line them up!" Takumi said.
"Vulcan's Hammer!" Zudomon slammed his hammer down so hard it made a shockwave, making Red Eye's Digimon and Pokemon stumble.
"Take your shot Ben!"
"You got it! Latios, Hyper Beam!" Ben's legendary Pokemon blaster them both and slammed them against fiery wall surrounding them. "How'd you like that!"
"Now we're talking." Red Eyes grinned. "Alright. Me and the boys have had our warmup. So now…" Red Eyes pulled out a rectangular gadget. "Let's kick off this party for real."
"Is that…a Controlvice?!" Takumi asked.
"Red Eyes, you really are with Team One World!?" Keisuke asked.
"Pfft. Give me a break." Red Eyes scoffed. "If I were, wouldn't I have given this armor away to their leader rather than call you guys up to offer it to you?"
"Then how'd you-
Red Eyes interrupted Summer. "A friend of mine recently started spying on Team One World. I got this from them the other day. Swiped the blueprints for their gadgets and made their own model. Called it the "Megavice."
"Someone's spying on Team One World?" Kellyn asked. "Who?"
"Sorry. Promised them I'd keep it a secret. But enough about that." Red Eyes held up the gadget as a red aura glowed around him. "Volcanomon, Digivolve!" His aura went into the Megavice and a text appeared.
DIGIVOLUTION
A red burst consumed Red Eyes' Digimon and a shell glowed around it. "Volcanomon Digivolve to…" He emerged in black armor with a horn on his head and spikes on his shoulder pads. He wore a gold bent and a white scarf. "PileVolcamon!"
"He Digivolved…" Ben looked at his Styler. "PileVolcamon, Mega Level Data! It's an expert in all combat sports and it's body has ben polished into a smart form suitable for melee combat."
"And that's not the only trick this baby can pull." Red Eyes grinned. He pressed a button on the side of his gadget with his thumb. A slot at the bottom opened up, holding a multi colored stone.
"What is that?" Ben asked.
"This is a Key Stone."
"It looks like the stone you have Ben." Takumi said.
Ben pulled out the neckless that was under his shirt. "You're right. Wait…don't tell me…!"
Red Eyes pressed the stone with his finger as his Blaziken held up a smaller, similar stone. A purple X shaped light formed from both of them. A sphere formed around Blaziken before shattering, revealing a new form. The fire on his wrists extended like ribbons. His legs were black and red and his maim was shaped like a x. Red Eyes laughed. "And that's why they named this the Megavice! Meet my Mega Blaziken!"
"Red Eyes can use Mega Evolution too?!" Takumi gasped.
Red Eyes laughed as he punched his palm and cracked his knuckles. "Now to fire things up! Let's rock boys!"
"Right!" PipeVolcamon shot a meteor from the volcano on his back into the air. "Volcanic Driver!" With a great leap he caught it and came crashing down into Zudomon creating a huge explosion.
"Go, Brave Bird!"
Blaziken glowed red as he flew into Latios. "Yikes they're strong!" Ben growled.
"Not bad, huh?" Red Eyes asked as his Digimon and Pokemon returned to his sides. "I've been working hard during these last three months. This is my new strength.
"…Not bad." Takumi said. "I'll admit, you're like a different person from the idiot we defeated here that day…But like I said…" a yellow aura formed around Takumi. "Zudomon and I will never lose to you!" He slid on his goggles and held his hand towards his downed Digimon.
"That's right…" Zudomon grunted as he got up. "Use whatever Control Gauntlets or Megavices you want…the don't compare to the bond Takumi and I share!"
DIGIVOLUTION
Takumi's aura fired out of his Digivice towards his Digimon who was coated in a yellow shell. "Zudomon Digivolve to…" He came out as a white serpent-like creature with four flippers and a long tail. "Plesiomon!"
"Plesiomon?" Kellyn asked.
"That's a new one from Takumi." Summer said amazed.
Keith scanned it. "A Mega Level Data Type. It rarely shows itself only when visibility is low such as during a dense fog. Previously it was an imaginary Digimon."
"Ben." Takumi glanced at his friend. "Time to go all out."
"Okay." Ben closed his eyes and clenched the Key Stone in his hand. The Mega Stone Latios held started to glow. Both emanated an x shape before a shell formed around Latios. It then came out in its Mega form.
"Him too?!" Keisuke asked.
"I haven't seen this since the battle three months ago." Summer said.
"Now this is more like it!" Red Eyes grinned. "No restrictions, no escape! I heated battle with the strongest of opponents!"
"I've been waiting for this!" PileVolcamon said, punching his palm before getting into a fighting position. "Now show us what you got!" He charged towards Plesiomon.
"Hydro Water!" Takumi's Digimon shot a jet of water at him, but he jumped over the attack.
"Wolkenapalm!" PipeVolcamon slammed his fist down on Plesiomon's head. The Plesiomon's head was knocked to the side before he rammed it into PipeVolcamon, knocking him back
Meanwhile Mega Blaziken and Mega Latios charged each other. Their hands slammed against each others as they grappled. Latios then pulled Blaziken in and gave him a Zen Headbutt before throwing him into the air. He then shot more gold orbs at Blaziken, but the Fire Type kicked repeatedly, shooting fireballs with each swing, countering the attack. Some got in and hit Latios repeatedly. "Blaze Kick!" Blaziken's foot glowed red as it charged into Latios, engulfing them in a pillar of fire as he landed the blow.
PileVolcamon ran up and shoulder charged Plesiomon. "Mach Rush!" Plesiomon was pushed back before it whirled around and tripped PileVolcamon with his long tail and then rammed his skull into him. Red Eyes' Digimon went rolling across the snow.
Latios threw Blaziken off of him and rammed into him at high speed while spinning, taking him high into the air before dropping him towards the ground. He shot a Hyper Beam blasting Blaziken all the way to the ground on top of PileVolcamon. "Well played." Red Eyes said. "What say we wrap this up. One last move. Winner take all."
"Fine by me." Takumi nodded.
"I'm ready." Ben said. "Latios, Luster Purge!"
"Blaziken Flare Blitz!"
Blaziken coated himself in fire as Latios charged a golden orb over his head. As Blaziken charged the orb flew towards it. Blaziken caught it in is hands as he slowly started to push towards Latios.
PileVolcamon launched another meteor and jumped after it. "Volcanic…" He slowly dropped towards Plesiomon "…Driver!"
"Sorrow Blue!" Plesiomon shot a blue ray from his mouth that collided against the meteor. His PileVolcamon's decent started to slow down as steam fired everywhere.
"Heh. Looks like I win this round." Red Eyes grinned.
"Not yet." Takumi said. "We're not finished yet! Plesiomon, I know you can do this! Because you and I fight side-by-side!"
"That's what partners do." Ben grinned. "Right Pichu?!"
Red Eyes glanced at the yellow Pokemon standing on Latios. "Shoot! I forgot about the little guy again!"
"PiiiCHU!" Ben's Partner shot a bolt at the Luster Purge and it exploded in a brilliant burst.
Plesiomon's attack grew in size and soon PipeVolcamon was blasted up high and out of the air. Takumi's Digimon swung his head down and the Sorrow Blue and the attack slammed him into the snow with snowflakes blasting everywhere.
Blaziken was hurting, trying to get up. But he froze in place as Ben's Styler looped around it. Then Pichu started glowing Blue. "PiiiiiiiiiCHUUUUU!" He charged into Blaziken with a powerful Volt Tackle. When Red Eyes' Pokemon hit the ground, it reverted to Rookie form and the fire ring around them dissipated.
"Looks like we win again." Takumi grinned.
Red Eyes simple smiled. "Looks like it."
A small blocky Pokemon sat up where PileVolcamon was. "Owww…Man, I was nearly annihilated. Ya weren't kidding about these people, Red Eyes. They're good."
"Was that Red Eyes' Digimon?" Keith asked pointing at him dumbfound.
"That's a Gotsumon." Keisuke replied. "A Rookie Level Data Type Digimon. He must have used up all his power and reverted back."
Red Eyes laughed. "As always, you two just keep getting better and better. You win."
"You too." Ben replied.
"You've changed Red Eyes." Takumi smiled. "I could feel it when I saw your Digimon and Pokemon fight. You've outgrown the Pokemon Pinchers."
Red Eyes nodded. "Just let me say one last thing. I'm not using a Control Gauntlet anymore." He held up his Megavice. "And this thing doesn't force my Pokemon or Digimon to obey me like those things do. You can count on that. He then gave the boys a satisfied smile. "That was fun. Thanks."
"It was." Ben smiled. "Can't wait for next time. We'll all be stronger by then."
"Still not telling us who this spy is?" Takumi asked.
Red Eyes shook his head. "Sorry. Made a promise. Oh, but they did ask me to pass a message to you. It looks like Team One World was researching three very powerful legendary Pokemon. Don't know which ones, but my friend doesn't think it was Moltres and the others."
"I see…That's a clue we can go off on now." Takumi said. "Thanks, Red Eyes."
Kellyn stepped forward. "Hey, Red Eyes…About the money for that helmet…" Blaziken, Gotsumon and Red Eyes stared at the Ranger as he spoke. "We'll talk to the Union, so can you give us a little time?"
Red Eyes, Gotsumon and Blaziken stared at each other. "…Heh, heh. HA, HA, HA, HA!" Red Eyes and Gotsumon broke into laughter. Even Blaziken looked like he was chuckling.
"Alright, what's so funny this time you joker?" Keith sighed.
"You thought he was serious about that?" Gotsumon asked.
Red Eyes chuckled as he picked up the Golden Helmet and tossed it. It landed in the snow in front of Ben. The Ranger looked up at him. "Huh?"
"I was kidding about the money! All I wanted was to have one more heated battle." Red Eyes grinned. "After meeting up and training with Gotsumon here in Oblivia he said he wanted a real challenge. And I knew just who to call."
"You only said that to fire us up?" Plesiomon asked.
Red Eyes nodded. "As long as you make sure to dispose of this Golden Armor, that's all I care about.
Ben smiled. "Red Eyes…"
"Well, we should go. Gotta retrain before next time."
Gotsumon looked at Keisuke and Tentomon. "Say, you two look familiar. Have we met?"
"Huh?" Keisuke looked at Tentomon. "Hey…could it be…?"
"Wait, Red Eyes!" Gotsumon suddenly remembered something. "The package!"
"Huh? Oh, right! Thanks for reminding me." Red Eyes fished into his vest pocket. He pulled out a small parcel.
"What's that?" Tentomon asked as Takumi's Digimon went back to Rookie form.
"On my way over here I ran into one of my old gang members. He said some guy in a white coat asked him to give this to you, but he was nervous about approaching you Rangers and Cyber Sleuths after…you know. So, I figured I'd take that job off his hands for him." He tossed the package over to Summer who caught it. A letter was tied to it addressed to her and Ben. "Ben! Takumi! And you too, Summer! I hope we meet again somewhere!"
"Pichu!" Ben's Pokemon raised his head.
"Don't forget about us!" Terriermon said, raising his ear.
Red Eyes chuckled. "Yes, Terriermon. Of course. And you too, Pichu! That ukulele suits you!"
"Pichu! Pichu!" the Pokemon hopped happily.
Red Eyes got onto his Z.Z. Flyer. He pressed a button on his Megavice and Gostumon and Blaziken went inside. "Good-bye! Cyber Rangers of Oblivia!"
"Good…Good-bye, Red Eyes…" Ben smiled.
The red Z.Z. Flyer rose up and took off. Keisuke smiled and put his hands in his pockets. "Well how about that?"
"…He wasn't all bad, I guess." Summer said.
"Looks like Arata was right about him." Terriermon said.
Takumi smiled. "Yeah. Thanks to him we finally secured one of these parts before Team One World."
"Should we just smash it here?" Summer asked.
"Let' get back to Kyoko and the others first and get their opinion."
"Agreed." Ben said lifting the helmet out of the snow. "We should go before Ice, Lavana or the masked creep show up to steal this thing."
Just as they were about to leave Summer's Styler started beeping. "Oh! Somebody's contacting my Styler!" She held it up and pressed a button.
"Hello! Can you hear me? It's me, it's me! If you could hear, would you just respond!"
"Wow, somebody's impatient." Terriemron said. "Who is it?"
"Prof. Hasting! We can hear you!"
"Prof. Hastings?" Takumi asked. "Isn't that your boss?"
"I couldn't use The Union, so I rode a Dragonite Bus while clinging to the other Two Rangers I brought with me and came to Oblivia! Good grief…I've certainly had enough of being above the clouds. Still not as bad as getting a ride from Wendy though."
"You came to Oblivia, sir?" Kellyn asked.
"Yes, I saw your report and decided this situation called for more Ranger power. So, I contacted a couple of excellent Rangers I know and came here with an Operator to help with your mission. If this Golden Armor is completed by Team One World it could mean the end of everything!"
"Wait, why couldn't you use The Union?" Ben asked.
"Murph took it to go pick up Leanne and Rand and bring them back here. They should be arriving tomorrow. Mata…Yoshi, yes? Our Operator gave him access to the coms to he can update them on what's happened so far."
"So where are you now, sir?" Summer asked.
"Rand's house. We've just been acquainting ourselves with your otherworldly friends. They seem like a good bunch. Though a bit on the odd side."
Takumi walked over to Summer. "Should I take that as a compliment?"
"Hmm? Who's there?"
"It's Takumi Aiba sir." Summer replied.
"Ah, yes, I heard of you from your sister and supervisor. A pleasure Cyber Sleuth."
"Likewise sir." Takumi smiled.
"We were just told you were out to meet a former enemy, a man named Red Eyes. How'd that go?"
"You're not going to believe this sir." Ben grinned. "He found the last piece of the armor for us."
"The last piece you say?! I want to hear a detailed report, so you should return to Rand's house! Ah, and Keith, the backup I brought is eager to see you, so came back here ASAP!"
"Huh?" Keith blinked pointing at himself. "Me? Why?"
"Hurry, hurry, hurry!"
"Yes, sir!" with that she hung up.
"Does he always say that?" Keisuke asked.
"Neverminded that, we should hurry back to Rand's house." Ben said. Everyone nodded.
