Progress on rough drafts for Cyber Ranger have lately been going swimmingly. So I found some time to work on another little side project. This time on the very first Digimon game I ever owned. Digimon World Dusk for the DS! This is what got me into Digimon RPGs. And I was pleased when I found out that Digimon Story Cyber Sleuth is pretty much Dusk/Dawn, only polished up for an even better experience. But enough of me gushing my past joys, let's get to how this is gonna work. This will be a ten chapter story covering different events of the game. Also what I decided on was the switch the perspective for each chapter. And by that I mean from Dusk's story with Sayo as the lead in this chapter and in the next it will be Dawn with Koh as the lead and so on and so forth. This way both Dusk and Dawn and Sayo and Koh get equal time in the sun. So with that said, enjoy this short little project of mine.

Sayo of Darkmoon City teleported to the arena. "Here we are." Her Lunamon, MachGaogamon, and Lilamon followed behind her.
"What are you doing?! Sayo, you're late!" Newton, a fellow Tamer of Night Crow ran over to her. "The group B tournament has already started!"
"Sorry, I overslept!" the Tamer replied.
"Pascomon and I told you to turn in early so that wouldn't happen again!" Lunamon scolded.
"I couldn't help it."
Newton sighed. "You're always this way! Really Sayo… Take being a Night Crow more seriously! The Light Fang laugh at you!"
Sayo rubbed the back of her head. "Hey, I won the group A tournament, didn't I? Don't worry, I got this!"
Newton sighed. "Well let's hurry up and go! Let's move it!" Sayo nodded and they hurried inside. "Good. Group B's not over yet."
Sayo looked up at the monitor hanging over the reception desk. One on end one of Night Crow's tamers named Gutts ordered a Mushroomon around against a boy form Light Fang with orange hair and googles who had a Angemon. "Looks like Gutts is up against a tough opponent."
"Gutts! You'd better win no matter what!" Newton shouted. "Take that Light Fang Koh and crush him!"
"So, his opponent's name is Koh?" Sayo asked.
"Go Mushroomon! You can win!"
"As much as I'd love our side to win, let's face it, that Koh guy's really good." Sayo said as she watched Angemon dodge an attack and fire light from his fist. "And this is Gutt's we're talking about here. Remember that one time we were training in Thriller Ruins and he-
"Shh! Chief Julia said we weren't supposed to talk about that, remember?!" MachGaogamon muttered.
"We don't have time for this…" Newton sighed. "Let's go to the waiting room!" He hurried to the room on the right.
"Heaven Knuckle!" Sayo looked up at the screen to see Angemon defeat Mushroomon with a clean hit.
Sayo took one more glance at the Light Fang Tamer as he cheered in victory. "Wow. That guy has a sharp look in his eyes when he battles."
"Kinda like you Sayo!" Lilamon winked.
"You think so?"
Lunamon jumped up and down in front of her Tamer. "Come on Sayo! We should hurry!"
Sayo picked up her only Rookie Digimon and smiled. "Okay, let's go." They walked into the waiting room. The rest of Night Crow was waiting. Including Chief Julia and ChaosGallantmon.
"Sayo, over here. Everyone's waiting!" Newton said.
"Sorry! Sorry!" Sayo hurried to the center of the room and put Lunamon down.
Chief Julia folded her arms. "Sayo, you made it…You're up next. Good luck!"
"We Night Crow won group A of the Normal Tournament! Good job Sayo!" ChaosGallantmon said.
"Thanks." Sayo replied.
"But group B lost to Night Fang…"
"I saw. That Koh guy is pretty good."
"They fight pretty well! Keep your guard up Sayo! Victory in the Normal Tournament, belongs to Night Crow!"
"Sorry everyone…" They all glanced at the teleporter to see Gutts sulk as came up to them. "Darn! If Mushroomon would have moved in just a bit more…"
"There he goes blaming his Digimon again." Sayo muttered quietly to herself.
"That's right!" Ponch nodded. "Your Digimon always has that problem!"
"Ponch, don't be so hard on Gutts…" Barone said.
"Yeah, Ponch! You lost too!" Dorothy added. "You guys are such buddies to lose to the same opponent!"
"The one who beat him is Koh of Light Fang." Newton said. "Sayo, be careful. Your opponent is Koh. I actually lost to that Tamer too."
Chief Julia nodded. "Sayo, you can win if you fight carefully."
"Just believe in yourself and give it your all." ChaosGallantmon added. "Then I'm sure you'll be able to win!" He then left with Chief Julia.
Sayo then turned to Gutts. "So, was losing that easily to Light Fang enough to bump your ego down a peg at least?"
"Ummm, I wasn't feeling good. Ugh…My stomach started to hurt."
Ponch sighed. "I can't believe I got beaten by that…"
"Sayo, you are representing Night Crow, so fight with pride." Barone said.
"Don't worry, unlike these two, I know how to fight."
"Well, Sayo, at least Gutts and Ponch don't sleep in during important events." MachGaogamon said.
"You need to be punctual!" Dorothy scolded.
Sayo sighed. "Sheesh, is everyone going to be on my case about that today?"
"Hey, Sayo? How come I can't win?" Newton asked. "I'm raising Digimon well, too."
"It's not just about raising, it' about trusting your Digimon too." Sayo said. "You need to have more confidence!" Her Digivice pinged and she looked at it. "Huh? Chief Julia wants me to meet her at the lobby."
"Well, make it fast!" Newton replied. "Your match is up next!"
"Yeah, yeah." Sayo walked out of the waiting room. When she saw that Chief Julia and ChaosGallantmon were waiting with Chief Glare and Ophanimon she hurried over to them. The five saluted.
"Chief Glare…let me introduce you. This is Sayo of Night Crow who will be in the finals." Chief Julia said.
ChaosGallantmon nodded. "Sayo is still a Normal Tamer but has great potential and is a good Tamer. I'm sure you can tell if you saw the match."
"Yes, I did see your match." Chief Glare replied. "You're an impressive Tamer."
Ophanimon nodded. "Yes… Sayo. We're looking forward to your growth. But Koh of Light Fang also has great potential."
"Thank you Ophanimon, but I still have a ways to go." Everyone noticed Koh approaching from the other waiting room. He had with him the Angemon from before as well as a RiseGreymon and a Coronamon. "Nice to meet you Sayo. I'm Koh of Light Fang. The group B champion, your opponent."
"Nice to meet you too." Sayo replied.
"Well, the next match is the final match of the Normal Tournament." Chief Glare said. "I look forward to a good battle!"
Chief Julia smiled. "Fight to the best of your ability as a proud Tamer."
"Of course." Sayo smiled. "I'm looking forward to a good fight."
"I will Chief Glare, Chief Julia! I'll do my best." Koh added.
Everyone saluted before the members of Light Fang returned to their own waiting room. Once they were gone, Julia turned to Sayo. "Be careful! Koh is strong."
"When you're ready come to the waiting room." ChaosGallantmon added.
"Right." Sayo nodded and watched her leaders leave.
Lunamon looked at Sayo. "Those Digimon look super strong…I hope we can win!"
Sayo kneeled down to her. "I know it will be hard, but I'm sure we can Lunamon."
"Sayo's right." MachGaogamon added. "All we need to do is follow her commands and fight our hardest, same as always."
"We're up to this!" Lilamon said. "We've trained hard for it!"
Sayo nodded. "I believe in all of you. Now let's go and win this tournament!"
"Right!"
Sayo teleported into the arena. Koh was already standing in the ring. Sayo hurried over. Everyone watched from the stands. "Sayo! You have to win!" Dorothy shouted.
"Give it your all!" Newton cheered.
Raigo nodded. "Let's get some momentum with a win in the Normal Tournament, and Night Crow will win the Bronze Tournament tomorrow!"
Sayo smiled at her opponent. "Koh of Light Fang! Let's go!"
"Sayo of Night Crow! Let's get it on!"
The referee stepped back. "Now for the final match in the Normal Tournament! The Group A champ is Sayo of Night Crow…The Group B champ is Koh of Light Fang…Both have gotten to this point with ease! This will be an interesting match up! Who will be the winner?" Sayo and Koh held their Digivices and stood ready to battle. "Are you ready? Let's start the battle! Ready…Begin!" As the referee raised his fist a bell rang.
"Angemon! RiseGreymon! Coronamon! Realize!"
"Lilamon! MachGaogamon! Lunamon! Realize!"
The six Digimon appeared. Sayo looked at her opponents carefully. "Okay... Two Holy Digimon. I'm going to need to be careful about Lunamon so she doesn't take too many hits…"
Koh glanced at MachGaogamon and Lialamon. "She has two Ultimate Level Digimon. This could be tricky…"
"Lilamon, MachGaogamon, converge on RiseGreymon!"
Koh watched both of Sayo's Ultimate Level Digimon charge at his. "She must think that if she can take out my strongest Digimon, it'll be smooth sailing. Heh. She just made it easier for me to pick those two off. If I can take down either of her Ultimate Digimon, things will shift in my favor!" RiseGreymon grappled with MachGaogamon. Lilamon zoomed behind RiseGreymon and prepared to attack. "Angemon!"
"Celestial Hand!" Angemon charged in and hit Lilamon from the side.
"Holy Bolt!" Coronamon shot a burst of light at Lunamon who jumped out of the way.
"Hydro Water!" Lunamon shot back.
"Heaven Knuckle!" Angemon fired a beam of light from his fist that hit Lialamon in the torso.
"Giga Breath!" RiseGreymon spewed flame in MachGaogamon's face and backed up. "TRI Revolver!" He then fired his cannon blasting Lilamon and MachGaogamon at the same time.
Sayo stared at the smoke the attack made. "Lilamon, now!"
"Lila Shower!" Lilamon used the smoke formed from the attack as a smokescreen to strike RiseGreymon and Angemon at the same time. Once Angemon was knocked out of the air, she charged at him. "Power Cutter!" She slammed her hands into him and threw him to the ground.
"Sonic Voice!" MachGaogamon screamed making a soundwave that blew back RiseGreymon.
"MachGaogamon, cut lose! Lialamon, take care of Lunamon!" Sayo ordered. MachGaogamon then turned to Lilamon and they nodded.
"Gatling Punch!" Coronomon knocked Lunamon onto the ground. "Small Breath!" He shot a fireball at her while she was down, but Lialamon swopped in and picked Lunamon up and flew high into the air.
"I got Lunamon, go all out MachGaogamon!"
"Gaoga Tornado!" MachGaogamon started spinning in place at a rapid rate. RiseGreymon, Angemon, and Coronomon were swept up in a tornado.
"Now's our chance!" Sayo said. "Take RiseGreymon out!"
Lialamon used her free hand to aim at RiseGreymon. "Power Blaster!"
"RiseGreymon, watch out!" Koh yelled.
Angemon straightened himself out aimed at MachGaogamon. "Grand Cross!" A blast of light knocked MachGaogamon out of the attack stopping the tornado. Angemon then darted in front of RiseGreymon and took Lialamon's attack.
"Angemon!" Koh shouted. The angel fell to the ground, defeated.
From the stands, Light Fang watched on one end. Night Crow on the other side. "Oh no!" Komachi gasped. "Koh already lost a Digimon!"
"True, but Angemon really took one for the team there." Chief Glare replied.
"You're right." Litton nodded. "Losing RiseGreymon would have put Koh in an uncomfortable position."
RiseGreymon recovered and growled. He charged into Lialamon, tackling her to the ground and making her drop Lunamon. He grabbed her by the face and tossed her into the air. While she was spinning out of control he flew up and grabbed her by the leg and threw her to the ground. "Rising Ray!" He fired straight down, bombarding her repeatedly until she was knocked out.
Sayo shielded herself from the gusts formed by the blasts. "Lilamon!"
"Darn!" Gutts growled. "Right when it looked like Sayo secured an advantage that guy evened it up!"
"Koh truly is talented for a Normal Tamer." ChaosGallantmon murmured. "They both have a Rookie and an Ultimate Level Digimon each. The moment either RiseGreymon or MachGaogamon falls will decide the battle."
"Come on Sayo, push through!" Dorothy cheered.
"RiseGreymon, take MachGaogamon out now!" Koh ordered.
"MachGaogamon, eliminate RiseGreymon!" Sayo shouted.
RiseGreymon charged towards MachGaogamon. "Boost Tackle!"
"Winning Punch!" The two of them charged at each other head on. A loud clash was heard as they slid past each other. As they did MachGaogamon collapsed. RiseGreymon still stood.
Sayo gasped. "MachGaogamon!"
Newton clutched his fists. "It…it's over…no way Lunamon can take on RiseGreymon…"
"Alright, Koh!" Pulsa cheered. "Now finish off that last one!"
As Lunamon nervously glanced back and forth at Coronomon and RiseGreymon, Koh grinned. "This fight's in the bag! RiseGreymon, end this!" His Ultimate Level Digimon just stood there. "…What? RiseGreymon, attack! Can't you hear me?!"
"What's going on?" Kenpa asked.
RiseGreymon groaned as he collapsed to the floor. "RiseGreymon?!" Koh shouted in shock.
"Looks like MachGaogamon's attack did more damage than we thought." Raigo grinned.
"They're both down to their last Digimon each." Ophanimon said. "Both are of equal level."
"This battle is about to wrap up." Chief Julia breathed.
Lunamon and Coronomon faced each other. Despite both of the only combinates left only being Rookie Level tension filled the arena. "Attack!" Sayo and Koh ordered simultaneously.
"Gatling Punch!"
"Shadow Claw!" The two of them rushed at each other and started trading blows. "Dark Crusher!" Lunamon soon got a solid hit in, knocking Coronomon into the air. "Hydro Water!" She blasted him in midair, finishing the fight.
"Coronomon!" Koh ran over to his Digimon.
The Referee held a hand towards Sayo. "Winner! Sayo of Night Crow! The champion of the Normal Tournament is Sayo! Sayo of Night Crow! Congratulations!"
Everyone cheered. "That was an excellent battle, Sayo!" ChaosGallantmon applauded.
"Well done, Sayo!" Chief Julia cheered. "Glory to Night Crow!"
Sayo ran up and hugged Lunamon. "Way to go you guys!"
"Heh, heh! We really did it!" Lunamon laughed.
Koh sighed. "What… How… How could I…"
Coronamon grunted. "Sorry Koh…we lost."
Koh took a deep breath and smiled. "Congratulations…Sayo of Night Crow. You beat me this time, but it won't happen again next time!"
Sayo winked. "I'm looking forward to it!"
The chiefs met again at the lobby. "Thanks for the great match. It was a good fight." Chief Glare said. "I was able to see how strong the Night Crow really are."
"Same to you Chief Glare and Ophanimon." Chief Julia nodded.
"Chiefs." Sayo walked up to them.
ChaosGallantmon turned to her. "Good job Sayo, it was a good battle!"
Chief Julia nodded. "Yes, you're right. I'm proud as Night Crow leader."
"Thank you." Sayo replied.
Ophanimon smiled. "Looks like Koh and Sayo are going to be good rivals…"
Chief Glare nodded. "This match must have been a good experience for Koh. Thank you Sayo. I'm grateful."
"Heh, heh…" Sayo rubbed the back of her head.
"Well, it's time to get back to SunshineCity. I look forward to the Bronze Tournament tomorrow." Everyone saluted before Chief Glare and Ophanimon left.
"I hope I can fight Koh again sometime." Sayo said. "That was a fun battle." Just then she spotted something in the corner of her eye. "Huh?" A red, hooded figure cackled as it left the lobby. "Hey, isn't that the guy from Thriller Ruins?!"
Chief Julia gasped as she saw it. She and ChaosGallantmon nodded before giving chase. "Sayo, we should go too!" Lilamon said.
"Right! Come on!" Sayo and her Digimon hurried outside. The cloaked figure was surrounded by the Cheifs, their Digimon, and two KnightChessmon.
"You, shady character!" the white KnightChessmon said.
"Settle down!" the black KnightChessmon ordered.
"Chief Julia!" Sayo hurried over.
Chief Julia narrowed her eyes. "That's…the same from before!"
"What's going on…" Chief Glare murmured.
The cloaked figure laughed before disappearing. "No! He got away again!" Sayo scowled.
Chief Glare looked at Chief Julia. "Chief Julia…Have you met that guys before…?"
"Yes, Chief Glare…There was an incident the other day, the wild Digimon went on a rampage in Thriller Ruins. I saw him then…"
"I see, I wonder who he is…"
"I don't know. It's as if he's watching us…There's also been strange activity on the server…I'm worried about DarkMoonCity… Chief Glare, you should also head back home soon."
Sayo just stared where the mysterious man once was. "Just who was that? What's going on?" Little did she realize this was just the beginning. The beginning of her destiny to save the Digital World.
And that isall for the first chapter. Next chapter will be a bit of a time skip, and as I said before, it will be the Digimon World Dawn perspective with Koh as the protagonist. I'll try to upload this weekly as well. See ya!
