Sayo and her Digimon charged at the Ophanimon clad in blue armor, with a helmet that completely covered her face. Her wings and lance were a fiery orange. OphanimonC picked up her lance and shield and charged. "Gale Claw!"

"Holy Slash!" MirageGaogamon and OphanimonC clashed. He thrusted his claws multiple times at her. She paired all the attacks with her lance and then thrusted her shield in his face.

Dianamon came up next spinning her weapon. OphanimonC jumped back and charged. Dianamon blocked the lance and pushed it aside. When she tried to capitalize, OphanimonC "Crescent Harken!" She swung elegantly at OphanimonC who blocked all the swipes with her shield. Once she saw her opening Ophanimon thrusted her spear, ramming it into Dianamon's torso, launching her. Apollomon caught her, keeping her from flying too far.

"Dianamon!" Sayo looked back at her Digimon.

"She's strong." The Digimon grunted. "As expected of the leader of Light Fang…"

Apollomon helped Dianamon off the ground and charged at OphanimonC. "Fatal Cross!"

OphanimonC blocked the incoming punch easily. "Hmph. I expected better from you turncoat." She threw him into a pillar.

"Lotusmon, keep her still!" Sayo ordered.

"Drain Whipping!" One of Lotosmon's staffs shot a electric whip that coiled around the opponent, pinning OphanimonC's arms to her body. "That should hold her! I'll drain her strength so she can't break free!" The whip started to glow.

"Now! Attack MirageGaogamon!"

"Cyclone Claw!" MirageGaogamon charged at her. Ophanimon broke out of the whip and blocked MirageGaogamon with her shield again. "What?!"

"No way! It didn't have any effect!"

Chief Glare's face remained stoic. "Do you honestly think the power of Chrono would succumb to cheap tricks like that? Pathetic."

"Volcano Napalm!" Ophanimon held up her spear and MirageGaogamon was hit by a sudden eruption of flames along with Apollomon who tried to rush in.

"Chaos Blast!" Lotosmon shot a black burst at OphanimonC. But the Chrono infused Digimon didn't even flinch.

"01 Crusher!" Dianamon tried to rush in while she saw an opening, but OphanimonC evaded every hit and got back a good distance, before slamming her javelin into the ground.

"Call Dramon!" Fiery dragons rose from the ground and came at Lotosmon and Dianamon. The two flew higher, evading left and right as the dragons lunged at them. But then they each felt two dragons biting on their ankles.

"Dianamon! Lotosmon!"

Dianamon was about to slash at them, but two more latched onto her wrists. Two more did the same to Lotosmon. They grunted and struggled as two more rose up, each slamming into their torsos and they yelled, struggling all the way to the floor which they were pinned to.

"Electro Blaster!"

"Burst Breath!" MirageGaogamon and Apollomon roared as they fire at OphanimonC.

OphanimonC pointed her weapon at them. "Holy Destroy!" The attack blasted through theirs and hit both Digimon.

"She's so strong…" Sayo grimaced. "How do we even…?"

"You were doomed when you foolishly decided to challenge Light Fang." Chief Glare said.

"That's not true…" Apollomon said weakly standing up. "The Light Fang would not declare war on the Digital World…You're just using them!"

"Silence traitor! You and that foolish Tamer of yours know nothing of our ambitions."

Sayo glared at him. "What did you just say?"

"Koh has no right to call himself a member of Light Fang after abandoning his people to aid our enemies. He is nothing more than a coward and disgrace."

And then something in Sayo snapped. "Don't you dare make fun of Koh!" A purple aura burst around her. She looked at herself. "This feeling…It's not like when my Digimon normally Digivolve…It's like…it's like I found something undiscovered…something incredible…"

MirageGaogamon felt a surge of power. "HAAAAAA!" He glowed purple and faced the enemy. "Koh trusted Sayo with his Digivice, his Digimon and most importantly, his mission…You could never understand the courage he had to make such choices or what you made him suffer through! Sayo, we have to win! We owe it to Koh, to Chief Julia, to everyone who helped us get this far!"

"MirageGaogamon… We will not fall here." Sayo clutched her digivice. "For Koh, and everyone in Light Fang…I've save everyone from YMIR! I won't let them down!" Sayo's Digivice went from saying ULTIMATE EVOLUTION to something new.

BURST EVOLUTION

"Charge!" Sayo held her digivice sideways as a red light emerged from the side. "DNA…" She slowly moved her other hand over that light. She then held her hands apart and pointed the Digivice towards MirageGaogamon. "Burst Mode!" It shot a fiery light at MirageGaogamon.

The light enveloped MirageGaogamon. He then emerged with new armor. Silver and blue, with no cape, but white hair and a horn. No clawed gauntlets but shoulder pads that emitted golden light. He held his hands together and they glowed golden and he spread them apart molding that light into a crescent moon that rose above him and grew into a full moon. His eyes glowed red as he pulled something out of that moon. A sickle that had a chain connected to that moon. When he pulled it down said moon turned into a mace. "MirageGaogamon Burst Mode!"

Chief Glare's eyes widened. "What's this?"

The new MirageGaogamon turned to the dragons pilling Dianamon and Lotosmon to the ground. "Beast Whack!" He swung his arm, shooting a shockwave that blew the spiritual monsters apart freeing Sayo's other Digimon who lifted their legs up and sprang to their feet.

Apollomon stood in amazement. "What kind of Digivolution is this…Sayo…MirageGaogamon…what did you unleash?"

"This Digivolution…changes nothing." OphanimonC scowled.

"We'll see about that." Sayo replied.

MirageGaogamon Burst Mode charged into OphanimonC at incredible speed, ramming his fist into her midriff where she had no armor. He kicked her back a good distance.

"Call Dramon!" She summoned more dragon spirits that charged towards MirageGaogamon all at once.

"Double Crescent!" MirageGaogamon Burst Mode swung the sickle shooting two golden blades that sliced them apart. He spun around and launched the mace into OphanimonC. She growled as she charged back at him. "Starlight EX!" The mouth on his armor opened up and unleashed a powerful explosion of light that sent her flying next to Chief Glare.

"Amazing…" Lotosmon gasped.

"Such power could rival ChaosGallantmon…" Dianamon added. "Incredible…"

OphanimonC grunted as she got up. "Curse you…! How could anyone be that powerful…?!"

"Stand up Ophanimon!" Chief Glare barked. "We cannot fail with Chorona Data on our side!"

"Ophanimon, Chief Glare, open your eyes!" Apollomon said. "The enemy is turning you against both Light Fang and Night Crow! You have to fight it! You're stronger than it! Koh is desperate to return to the SineshineCity and Light Fang he once knew! How much longer are you going to make him wait?!"

Chief Glare clenched his head. "Koh…"

OphanimonC growled. "Shut…UP! Holy Des-

"SV Fantasia!"

"Crazy Ice Blast!"

"Electro Blaster!"

"Solblaster!" All four Digimon attacked at once.

"Wake up Ophanimon!" Sayo shouted. Their combined strike blasted OphanimonC so hard she flew into the air.

MirageGaogamon Burst Mode appeared above her and started spinning even faster. "Fullmoon Meteo I!" His mace flew at higher velocity at OphanimonC and slammed her to the ground.

"No…" OphanimonC growled. "At this rate…Arg…No…Ophanimon's consciousness…"

Chief Glare fell to his knees. "Ugghh…My… My head…"

"Is it working?!" Sayo asked.

"Ugh… Get out of…"

"Ophanimon?!"

"…my body!" Ophanimon's body glowed black. For a split second she was back to normal, but then changed back.

"Ophanimon! Fight it!" Apollomon yelled.

"Don't think…You can escape…our power." OphanimonC growled.

She started flashing between forms again. "Get out! I am Ophanimon!" Something rose out of Ophanimon's body as she returned to normal and collapsed.

"Ophanimon!" Apollomon was about to run towards her when Dianamon stopped him.

"Wait!" She eyed the strange core Ophanimon ejected. "That's…!"

The object glowed and the area turned red. Behind it a hole in space opened up. "What is that?!" Lotosmon asked.

"A Digi Area?" Sayo murmured.

The Chrono Core spoke. "Curse you…Ophanimon! You escaped out power…"

"I… I am…Ophanimon!"

"Ophanimon are you alright!?" Sayo asked.

The Digimon gasped. "Sayo, you okay? I'm sorry…"

"It's not your fault, don't worry about it. More importantly, are you and Chief Glare alright?"

Ophanimon turned around. "Glare, wake up!"

The man gasped and stood up. "…Huh? What was I doing?"

"Glare, you and I were both being manipulated!"

Glare saw the core and backed away. It teleported in front of the hole it made. "Our great plan is already in its final stage…Sayo…" The Tamer glared at it. "Real Being, if you want to stop us, then pursue us…We'll be waiting for you deep inside Chaos Brain…" It then vanished.

Glare looked at Ophanimon. "What…was that?"

"I don't know…"

"It's using the YMIR, a program originally intended to give Digimon a lifespan, so they'd evolve like humans." Sayo replied.

Ophanimon looked at her in surprise. "YM…IR? I thought that project was scrapped a long time ago…"

"Apparently this Chrono Data is trying to take down Yggdrasill…"

"Then…there's no doubt the Digital World is in danger."

Chief Glare nodded. "Sayo, thank you for saving us from a dangerous situation. By the way, what's with the outfit?"

Sayo looked at herself. She completely forgot that when they hid in Koh's home, Gatomon used that program to adjust the coloring of her cloths as a disguise. Her hair was blond, her hat and shirt were red, her googles were pink, she had a yellow coat, blue shoes and skirt and black and red stockings. "Oh, right." She pressed a button on her Digivice and went back to her normal colors of purple and black. "Gatomon set this up to help us sneak in here."

The Chief chuckled. "That's cute and all, but come on Sayo, do you really think our Tamers are gullible enough to fall for that?"

Sayo glanced at Apollomon. "You wanna tell him, or should I?"

Apollomon squinted at her. "You do it, I insist."

"Oh, good grief they fell for it, didn't they?" Chief Glare groaned.

"Every single one of them sir." Sayo replied.

Ophanimon sighed. "I'm…sure it's just because of the virus. Speaking of which, since you were able to inflict damage on him, I was able to break free from his control…Sayo…Thank you! And you as well Apollomon."

"I only did what my Tamer asked of me. To look after Sayo and help save our city. He originally wanted to go himself, but Sayo did not want him to be forced to fight you two."

Glare chuckled. "To lend you Apollomon and ask you to save us…Koh must trust you a lot Sayo."

Sayo sheepishly rubbed the back of her head. "W-well, I…"

Ophanimon giggled. "No wonder he's been talking about you since the tournament."

Sayo's cheeks turned red. "H-he has?"

"Ha, ha, ha!" Chief Glare laughed. "Koh would probably kill us if he knew we were telling you this behind his back. Anyway, Ophanimon, we should head to Chaos Brain also!"

"What? You two should rest!" Sayo said. "You were under that thing's control for a long time!"

"We can't just sit and do nothing!"

"We can't risk you two getting controlled again! Besides, someone has to take care of Light Fang!"

Ophanimon sighed. "No…Glare. We'd better not…I'm sure we'd only get in Sayo's way…"

Glare was hesitant but sighed as he gave in. "Yes, it's hard to admit, but you're right…"

Sayo turned to Apollomon. "You stay here and help them, them might need it."

Apollomon shook his head. "I'm afraid I cannot do that."

"Why?" Dianamon asked. "Aren't you concerned about your leaders?"

"Of course, I am. But staying behind would be against a direct order from my Tamer. Koh entrusted me with Sayo's safety, and I will not fail him."

"Apollomon…" Sayo said. "Alright. Let's get after that thing!"

"Sayo…Apollomon…We'll leave everything to you." Ophanimon said.

Chief Glare took out his Digivice. "Sayo…We have no choice but to leave everything in your hands! You must defeat him! Here, take these…There's only three left, but take them with you."

Sayo looked at her Digivice as Glare sent her three Full RepairTs. "Thank you, Chief Glare…"

"The two of us will defend the entrance to Chaos Brain…" Ophanimon said. "Sayo! It's all up to you!"

Chief Glare watched her leave. "Sayo! We are counting on you!"

"We will protect this place so leave Chaos Brain to us." Ophanimon said.

Sayo started sprinting into the darkness. "Here I come Chrono! Prepare to meet your end!"
