"Is… is it over?" Ethan muttered to himself as he pushed open a broken-down door. His left hand is now missing its pinky finger. He held it desperately, shivering in the cold as his wedding ring still bound right to him. A growl sounded above him, and as he limped forward to the next house. He saw two more Lycans crawling around on the roof. His breath hitched in his throat as he scrambled up the stairs, their howls roared through the town as he blocked the door with a bookshelf.

"They're everywhere!" He panicked as a Lycan rushed the door. He screamed as a hand clapped down on his shoulder. Ethan has pulled back away from the door as Lucian appeared wielding a shotgun. The Lycan tore the door open and the vampire blasted him with buckshot.

"Take it!" He said and handed the barrel over to Ethan. The metal touched his bloody fingers and the military training took over.

"Where is Rosemary?" Ethan asked as he cocked the barrel to load up the next shot.

"I'm not sure, but I know my wife would be furious if she knew I was helping you," Lucien said as the two pulled back from the open door into the next room. Lucien leads the way by dropping through a hole in the floor with Ethan close on his tail.

"Helping me?" He asked, barely able to see Lucien in the dark crawl space.

"I have a bleeding heart for a father worried about his child." Lucien sighed as he stopped before the exit. A pistol in hand as Ethan took point at the exit. "Look, I'll keep them distracted and you run into that house and block yourself in as long as you can."

"What? They'll shred you to pieces" Ethan looked the man up and down again. He was drop-dead gorgeous but didn't look equipped to deal with hordes of monsters. No tactical gear, just fancy dress for tea in the garden.

"Don't worry, Dogs don't frighten me," Lucien said and ducked out of the hiding hole and whistled for a few wolves to chase him. The armoured one left behind for Ethan to deal with as he rushed for the house on the hill.

Lucien watched as Ethan secured the door, then quickly climbed the nearest fence to lead a bulk of Lycan's away as Ethan got swarmed with leftovers. The bangs of his pistol in the distance as Lucien ducked into the vineyard. Once the Lycans got inside, the mess of fences separated them. Lucien took off into a full sprint, knowing the field's layout and dodging around tight corners. Once he was hidden in the vines, he drew a sword from his hip. His raven hair caught in the wind as he turned to take on the first of the Lycans that rushed him.

Ethan's gun could be heard firing off, but he was cautiously saving his bullets. Breathing slowly and taking well-calculated headshots, as dog after dog piled up at the door. The soldier went to reload and realized he was on his last clip. A barrel full of powder at the door as the Lycan's finally broke through. The armoured monstrosity facing off with him. Ethan burst out of the house, the scorched remnants of the armoured Lycan behind him scattered across the house after he blasted a barrel full of gunpowder. He made his way down the hill only to be faced with a massive creature wielding a hammer distracted by the hunter. Another Armoured lycan waiting for him. Ethan nearly slipped on the ice as he lifted the shotgun to fire his last bullet at the thing. The buckshot scattering across his face in a gory mess of blood and shrapnel but doing very little damage. Ethan evaded the swing of his claws and took off running, only to get hit in the leg by an arrow and collapse. He flipped over and spotted in the distance, Lucien in the fields fighting off two Lycans that were overwhelming him. The massive monster looked for him as Ethan tried to shuffle away. Lucien slashed his blade across the neck of Lycan to his left, taking off its head as the other tackled him to the ground. Lucien was mauled by the Lycan and he let out a painful scream. As the creature threw its head back with a mouthful of the Vampire's blood.

"Ugh, bitter! You betrayed the lady, my lord," The Lycan from earlier, had pinned the vampire's blade hand to the ground with his knee.

"We are playthings to them. You know they don't care if you live or die Mi'kyal." Lucien struggled to say as he pinched the wolf's throat with his one free hand. Keeping his snapping maw from taking another bite of him.

Ethan struggled to avoid his death blow as the hammer was raised before the haunting call of the Lycan leader echoed on the hills. The ear-piercing shrill of the whistle enough to make Mi'kyal sit up, and heaved at the sound before howling. Looking down at Lucien in anger before letting him go as he crawled away from him.

"Next time I feast on your heart," Mi'kyal growled.

"I thought you said I tasted bitter?" Lucien teased as he rubbed his throat which was ripped up with claw marks that slowly healed. The Lycan snorted before he ran after his brethren who retreated at the call. Lucien rubbed his throat and swallowed painfully tasting blood as he got up. The Goliath leading their retreat as he stomped off shaking the earth as he went.

"Playtimes over." Lucien eyes narrowed at the figure standing on the hill smoking. His long coat fluttered in the wind as he cast his butt aside and walked off. Lucien's attention pulled as Ethan screamed. He pulled the arrow from his leg, shuttering in pain as he was overwhelmed with emotions and the cold. Lucien made his way back to the road, pausing at the fence to lean against it.

"Are you alright?." Lucien asked as Ethan poured a vial of healing draft over his missing finger.

"I... I don't know." Ethan said and looked around the street. "Where did they go?" He asked.

"Called home, looks like someone wants to play games with you too," Lucien replied and looked around spotting the old woman at the gate with a worried expression.

"You're from here... Tell me what's going on. Lord." Ethan asked directly and got up from the ground.

"I am captive here, just like you are now. I'm sorry." Lucien said and walked forward. "Hide." He warned. The giggles of voices on the wind as Ethan backed up.

"What about you?" Edward asked.

"I'll be fine. Go find your daughter." Lucien said as Ethan saw his neck finish healing.

"You're infected…" Ethan murmured as he moved forward to hide in the nearest shed.

"Of sorts," Lucien replied quietly as Ethan got out of sight. A woman appeared in the street. Her dress was slick on the ground like oil as she walked towards Lucien.

"My dear boy, your lady requests you go to her right away. You're in danger out here." She said from behind her golden mask.

"Right away Mother," Lucien replied curtly and walked past her.

"Wait…" The 'Mother' said as she drifted closer to Lucien.

"What is that smell." She asked.

"Lycan," Lucien replied.

"No... in your blood." Mother's eyes narrowed, and she ran a finger over his bloody chest and tasted the blood for herself. She immediately struck him, ripping his cheek open as he collapsed to the ground. His skin healed slower than before for his fangs grew and the hunger grew from every wound.

"Filthy man blood! You despise my gifts so much, I shall take them away from you." Her shrill voice pierced Ethan's eardrums and he peeked out to watch. The woman dragged Lucien by the hair, as he kicked and fought against her before he was taken away behind a golden encrusted gate. Ethan tried to follow, but it was locked and the only way forward. Was where the old witch was slowly creeping into the centre of town.
