Disclaimer:
I don't own the characters: Lex or Scar (as well as other characters that will appear eventually). I really admire their creators and respect them; this fanfic is just for fun.
I answered all your reviews until the end of the chapter :)
Hello, at the moment I don't have beta reader, so you will probably see some errors (I write in Spanish first and then I translate into English) I'll do my best to continue improving my English and show fewer errors in my writing :)
"Where're we going?" Daniel asked; Lex didn't want to think about it.
She told Scar that she would go with him, to a strange planet, hundreds or maybe thousands of light years away, where other humans lived who knows, how they had managed to resist in an atmosphere that perhaps was not breathable even for her or for her nephews and that, maybe they lived in capsules or locked in a dome.
The idea of leaving Earth was so overwhelming, so unreal, how were they supposed to live there? How would she raise her nephews in such a harsh and hostile environment? There was a colony of humans, but surely they weren't that different from the Yautja and for Lex, the idea of honor killing still seemed conflicting.
And she didn't think that would change.
Scar didn't seem very concerned, instead she began to ramble among hundreds of ideas that only disturbed her more and more. Following Scar literally to the end of the world was like taking a leap of faith.
And was she ready to take that big leap? The answer she had given him was yes... but now she was beginning to doubt.
"We're going to Scar's planet," Emma answered calmly.
"Are you an alien?" Daniel asked Scar, as if it wasn't obvious enough.
Scar turned his head towards the boy, 《the pups…》 thought the predator. Those two little humans were nothing more than a problem, they were weak and defenseless, they wouldn't withstand the rigors of their planet; he imagined them whining and being humiliated by the other Yautja pups, that was if their superiors accepted them, which was a very, very low probability.
And he wasn't even sure they would accept Lex. First, Wolf would scream in the sky and second, even if they accepted her as a Notable, he wanted her as his partner and was risking too much by taking her to present her so deliberately, he ran the risk that the elders would consider it as a daring.
The only thing that was in his favor was that Wolf had been wrong and that, despite disobeying the order not to go to Earth, he had done so for a justifiable reason.
Although he was not such an experienced predator, he had found the whereabouts of the Bad Bloods.
Lex got ahead of Scar. "Yeah, he lives a long way from here."
She seemed so happy with them, how to tell her that little children were nothing but a hindrance? How to tell her that they would not resist?
"They can't go," Scar said, stopped short and awaited the human's objections.
"What?" Lex stopped, holding the children's hands and they looked at her with concern and horror.
"The pups must stay here." Scar declared.
Lex felt the ground spill underfoot, as if he was about to fall into a deep hole. "Why?"
"They are... weak," Scar said, he felt sorry, he had no problems with human children, he was just being objective, he knew that it would be difficult for them to survive on a hostile planet.
Lex knew enough was enough. She raised her eyebrows and clenched her teeth, disappointed, annoyed, and anguished.
"Then I guess that's it." She told Scar, there was not even anger in her voice, just a deep sadness "Emma, Daniel, we have to go" took the children by the hands and turned his back on the predator.
"Lex, understand, they will not resist." Scar wanted her to understand how difficult it would be to raise two –weak- human pups on a harsh planet where only the strong were praised and glorified, and the weak were slaughtered and forgotten.
There were human children born on Yautja Prime, but they were trained when they first started walking, while those two human children only cried and hid behind Lex.
"I'm sick of everyone wanting me to cooperate, to understand, to accept. But I can't" she hold tight to the hands of her nephews.
The other option was to escape, but to a place other than his planet and the consequences would be deadly if they were captured; They would kill the human pups and Lex and Scar would be demoted, tainted with the Bad Blood tag for disobeying the order to return to Yautja Prime and that would put him on the same level as Berserker, Falconer and Tracker.
He didn't want that, but he didn't want to get away from Lex either, what should he do? He would be considered a fugitive if he managed to escape and sentenced to death if they found him.
"They are the only thing I have left, I can't leave them." Lex hated how her tears appeared, she was already annoyed with crying, with looking weak and that everything was so damn complicated.
But she just couldn't help it, there she was, crying in front of a Yautja hunter, her mind being in complete chaos. If Scar left, the chances of fleeing dropped drastically, but she couldn't do anything to make him change his mind either, that was a decision that he alone was up to him to make.
"I hate crying, but it seems like I can only do this, I can't do anything else!"
Scar wanted to take her into his arms, but the decision to betray his clan for the human female was a difficult decision. He had a lot to lose; his honor, a life full of glory, the most exciting hunts, the opportunity to follow in the footsteps of his father.
"How do you feel about me?" The question came out of Scar seemingly without warning, but it was something he needed to know, something that would prompt his to make his decision and that had long been on his mind.
Moving closer to Lex to cut the distance between them, he tilted his head to look at her and waited for her response.
She resigned herself. It was the end of something that never began, she thought that her response was not important and she had nothing to lose, she was sure that Scar would leave her, because she would not abandon her nephews, what difference did she make?
Despite this, although the words were there, she simply could not say them, she being human didn't understand how it was possible that she felt something for someone so different, for someone she didn't know for so long, but she was.
《I love you》Lex thought, but her lips were treacherous, in that desperate situation, with so many things on her mind, she couldn't muster up enough courage to articulate the right words.
"I need you," she said and outlined a smile, which contrasted with hers, her watery eyes, "but I understand you, taking us to your planet is risky... that's why I don't blame you."
Scar looked at that little human that he could never forget, she needed him, he was her only option to escape and she let him make the final decision, diminishing the guilt with understanding.
The decision was in his hands, slipping into his claws.
"We won't go to Yautja Prime, we'll travel to another place" Scar said, he spent thousands of years of Yautja culture in the middle of his dreadlocks.
He would keep the human female.
The consequences of Scar's decision were unknown to Lex, she just felt that after so long, she had hope again.
Scar led Lex and the children to a small room, full of computer equipment and tables, it was uncomfortable, it looked like a warehouse with cables and other electronic things, like controls and cameras. He was already tired of wandering around the facility, circling the other predators; it was easier to go alone and bring the ship to them.
That way he wouldn't worry about something happening to them, of course, if they were locked in the little room.
Emma and Daniel had no objection to hiding, pushed some cables off some tables to make room and sat in silence.
"I haven't seen the bastard," said Lex, Scar didn't need to know more to know who she was referring to.
"Berserker tends to hide quite well, waiting for just the right moment to take advantage and attack."
"I swear, I want to kill him, he must pay for what he did to Amber," said Lex.
Scar had to concentrate, he would probably run into one of the hunters and he had to keep a cool head, however, Lex's determined attitude made him lose his balance for a moment, she was a true warrior, he wanted her, he needed to feel her.
Scar stroked her face, a little curly lock dancing across her forehead, he took it and curled his jaw into a smile "I know it looks horrible." Lex said, she was well aware that her short hair looked messy and hazy.
Scar shook his head "I like it" he thought Lex looked wilder, more beautiful. He loved her long hair, but was crazy about her new look. "Stay here," he added and after he left the room, Lex followed him, closing the door and leaving her nephews inside it.
"Scar, I know I ruined everything and that things will hardly be the same again, but I want you to know that I'm glad you're here," she said, she knew they had time on them, but she could no longer bear that heavy guilt, with the memories of their lighthearted conversations that now seemed to be so painful "sorry, I didn't mean to talk too much."
"I never wanted to get away from you, I do all this for you and I'm also happy to see you again."
Lex smiled at him with relief, despite everything, he was still the same as always "my feelings for you are clear, I want you by my side and I don't care about anything else, I know that everything will be fine if I'm with you."
Scar felt a growing happiness in his chest, a joy and satisfaction comparable only with the best hunt that could be imagined, he didn't know what fate would bring them but he was sure that it would make it work "we'll be together, I promise you."
The warrior approached Lex and held her against his solid body, while a purr emerged from his chest and rumbled through her, as if it were a constant and pleasant vibration. Lex stretched her hands up to his chest, under his armor and touched his skin above the camouflage mesh; she could feel how he shuddered at her delicate touch, raised her head to meet the metallic of his biomask, Scar kept his hands on her waist, careful not to squeeze it too much.
It was difficult for him to control his mind, as if all the training he had received was going to waste, he only thought about Lex, about making her his. He was deliberate in lowering his hands a little to reach her butt and squeeze it a little, feeling how soft it was, Lex put her head on his chest and let him run his hands to her body.
He touched her thighs and then her breasts, Lex knew her nephews were too scared to stick their heads out the small window, so she got carried away a bit.
Scar squeezed her left breast a little, then rubbed it slowly; it was something that made him curious, something he had always wanted to do.
Lex let out a sigh and stretched the mesh of his camouflage in response, she needed him in all the ways someone could be needed, her body begged for him.
"You have no idea, you don't know how long it's been since you left, you have no idea how many nights I've touched myself thinking of you." Lex broke away from him.
The Yautja understood half of what she had said, the less compromising half, of course "how did you touch yourself?"
Lex let out an amused laugh, he might be one of the deadliest hunters in the universe, but now he just seemed like an innocent kid "maybe I'll explain you later"
"We'll have all the time in the world when this is over," he said.
It was wonderful how they didn't need words to understand each other, after their short conversation and having shared that intimate moment, Scar just took her face and she nodded. They had to follow the plan.
Lex returned to the room and sat on the floor, staying like that for a few long minutes; all she wanted was for Scar to return safe and sound, she didn't ask for more.
"You bastard!" Fred yelled, a mixture of fury and despair covering his voice.
The children hid under the table, clinging to the supports.
Fortunately, that hidden room was not made of glass and the only small window it had was covered with a thick gray blind; Lex held up one of the plastic tabloids and watched the massive predator following Fred like he was a hungry lion.
"It's him," Lex said in a whisper, it was him, it was Berserker. He was here, a wall away.
"Auntie Lex, what do we do?" Emma asked, she was terrified; her little hands were shaking non-stop.
"Stay here," Lex said, pulling the ceremonial spear out of the backpack and extending it, while his other hand held the pistol.
"No, Scar said to wait here." Daniel, only 10 years old, seemed to be the most reasonable.
"I know, but I've to help Fred, don't move. Don't go out, don't yell."
Adrenaline flooded her body, her heart pounded at an accelerated rate, sweat dripped from her forehead despite the air conditioning. She had no clear ideas; she clung to the spear in an attempt to gain security.
Soon his screams led her toward Fred, the T-shaped hallway stretched out in front of her, her feet struggling to undo the invisible chains that prevented her from moving forward. She had time to go back and forth, but that meant letting Fred die and she couldn't live with the idea that she might have been able to do something to save him.
Yes, the man was maddening, but even he didn't deserve to die at the hands of the terrible predator.
She felt as if the walls on either side of her were beginning to close in, trying to crush her; despite feeling suffocated by her own emotions and memories, Lex ran fast, as she feared her bravery would decline.
And finally she had him in front of her, Berserker was holding Fred by his neck.
"Berserker!" Lex yelled, she looked into the metallic eyes of the murderer of her sister; he looked terrifying, as if he had come out of her deepest nightmares.
Berserker let out a deafening roar in response, it sounded like he was a wild lion.
Maybe following him hadn't been the smartest option.
No, it wasn't.
She shot him and Berserker released Fred and activated his hand blades, the tiny bullets only tickled his hardened skin, he wasn't like Scar, his skin was more like that of crocodiles, with thick and resistant scales.
And soon Lex emptied the entire cartridge, dropping the useless gun afterward. "Get up, Fred!" Lex yelled.
"LEX RUN!" The man was horrified, afraid that the damned predator would destroy Lex and in a desperate attempt to get her attention, he fired at him.
"What the hell are you doing!?" She exclaimed, she hoped to distract the predator to give Fred the opportunity to flee.
Berserker grunted as he unfolded one of his hand blades and like a missile, the sharp metal reached Fred, piercing his shoulder and pinning him to the wall.
Fred howled in pain and dropped his gun.
"Leave him!" Lex yelled as she approached, the massive predator raised his huge arm and hit Lex on her chest, causing her to fly to the ground, she struggled to stand up, she had to move, she had to do it.
Staying on the ground was like accepting to die.
《Get up!》 She told herself, she couldn't breathe, she could feel the flesh of her chest; she supported her arms on the ground and tried to get up but the predator pressed his huge foot on her back, Lex let out a cry of pain, Berserker fractured several ribs, but if he had wanted, he would have also destroyed her column.
Then, he takes her neck and lifted her off the ground.
Berserker was capable of smashing a skull with the force of his hands, but he just wanted Lex to suffer, to learn her place as prey, he was in command of her and she had to understand.
"You're a bastard... a fucking bastard! You're going to pay for what you did to Amber!" Lex yelled.
