A/N: I wonder why no one has thought of a PowerPuff Girls/Jackie Chan Adventures crossover. Anyway, thought I would try to see if it would work so well. Enjoy.
"The City of Townsville…" the ever present narrator of the PowerPuff Girls said. "...is where we usually begin our heroic adventure. But today, we start off this story in Chinatown, located in the California city of San Francisco. And inside Uncle's Rare Finds, archaeologist and part time secret agent for Section 13, Jackie Chan was chatting with an old friend."
Inside Uncle's Rare Finds, Jackie Chan was doing exactly that. "Why I would love to visit you. It's been a long time since we talked anyway, my dear friend. I'll bring my niece and Uncle, and we'll be there this Sunday." Jackie smiled. "I'll see you then." After he hung up, Jackie was met with a two finger smack from Uncle.
"Why is nephew racking up Uncle's phone bill when he should be sweeping up shop?!" Uncle barked as he handed Jackie a broom.
"Sorry, Uncle. But I was on the phone with my old college friend, Professor Utonium." Jackie said as he began to sweep around the shop. "He has invited us to visit him in the City of Townsville next week."
"But this week was supposed to be Uncle's Mega Sale for new antiques!" Uncle barked.
"Why don't you just postpone it, Uncle. It'll just be for a few days. Besides, Jade's school break is next week anyway." Jackie smiled. "Oh, that reminds me. I better go see what she thinks of the upcoming trip." He then handed the broom to his friend and former enemy, Tohru, as he went upstairs.
"Why is Tohru staring at Uncle like he is made of cabbage?! SWEEP!" Uncle barked.
"Yes, Sensi." Tohru nodded as he did just that.
Upstairs, Jackie approached Jade's room and entered but then gasped as he saw his niece seething with anger and her plush super moose tore up. "Jade, are you OK?" Jackie asked, timidly but mostly concerned. Jade began to calm down as she heard her Uncle's voice.
"Ch, no. I'm upset." Jade sulked. "I tore up Super Moose so I wouldn't break anything else, knowing how angry Uncle would have gotten if I did."
"Why are you upset?" Jackie asked as he knelt down to meet Jade's level.
"I'd rather not talk about it." Jade said, hating the sad tone in her voice, but failing to stop it. Jackie then reached down and hugged her niece, causing some of her negative feelings to fade.
"Jade, sometimes talking through something bad that happened can make anyone feel better." Jackie smiled. "Now, if you don't want to talk about it now, just do when you're ready."
Jade then sighed. "OK, but only because there's two reasons why I'm upset." She and Jackie then sat down on her bed. "It was lunchtime, and I was just minding my own business…"
At Jade's school, Jade collected her lunch and sat down to eat when three big boys stepped in front of the table. "Hey look who it is. The Ninja Girl." the blonde haired boy sneered, laughing with the other two, making Jade frown.
"Say Jade, why don't you use one of your magic spells to turn that hamburger into a cupcake?" the black haired boy insulted, making Jade growl as she tried to ignore them.
"And maybe you could also use the chicken talisman to fly away?" the red haired boy laughed. Jade then had enough, got up from her seat, and banged her hands on the table.
"OK, one: it's Rooster! Not chicken! Chickens aren't even part of the Chinese Zodiac!" Jade barked. "And second: those adventures really did happen! I already get enough teasing from Drew! I don't need to get picked on by you guys!"
"Oh is that so?" the red haired boy asked with a mischievous grin. "Then why don't you take a swing at one of us?"
Jade began to think it over and did in fact wanted to hurt those boys. Maybe perhaps kick them with a spinning heel kick. But then she knew it would get her in major trouble if she followed through with it. Jade then remembered what Jackie had taught her: Sometimes the greatest battle is the battle not fought.
"Ch. Nice try. But I'm way better than that." Jade smirked, but then the blonde haired bully punched her in the face.
Back in the present, Jackie gulped as he was concerned for Jade and what happened to her at school. "Jade, why didn't you tell me when you got home?" Jackie asked.
"Why didn't I?" Jade repeated, her temper beginning to rise. "Well, I wanted to kick that bully and his goons, even when they were pounding on me, but knew I wouldn't be able to because you would ground me if I'd try to defend myself!"
"Jade, I-" Jackie tried to say, but Jade's temper still rose.
"I know I'm a little rascal, I may not make the best decisions, and maybe you want was best for me by not wanting me to go with you on mission, but I don't think you're mister Uncle of the Year either!" Jade barked. Jackie was hurt when she said that. "Why did I even take your advice into consideration in the first place? Look what it got me: a black eye and now I'm upset! Why did I even come to live you anyway?!" Jade then turned away from her uncle, who gulped and tried to comfort her.
"Jade…" Jackie said in a soft tone.
"Just go away." Jade whispered, not wanting to be bothered. Jackie nodded, seeing how upset Jade is, then slowly exited, still hurt by what Jade told her. He did want what was best for Jade, but he wasn't perfect either. But that didn't give her a reason to hurt Jackie's feelings.
Back on the first floor, Jackie was telling Uncle and Tohru about what Jade said to him. "Perhaps Jackie should be stricter with niece." Uncle suggested.
"No. Jade was very upset over getting hurt at school, which I understand. If she would have told me that she was being bullied psychically, I would have given her permission to use force. Still doesn't take away the fact that she hurt my feelings." Jackie said sadly.
"I don't think Jade meant all those things. Perhaps she just needs a better outlet to help with her emotions." Tohru said. "Why not try art? My mother did that same for me when I went through emotional trouble."
"Uncle does not think it would be wise to take advice for Tohru's mother, whom Uncle hates and wishes she would stop talking when she visits!" Uncle barked.
"Perhaps art would be a good way for Jade to express her feelings." Jackie smiled. "That way she won't try to target her frustrations out on her peers."
The next day, Jade got off the school bus and saw Jackie standing in front of Uncle's Rare Finds with a smile on his face. Jade gulped, expecting him to scold her for saying those hurtful things to him yesterday. She slowly approached him. "Uh, Jackie, about what I said to you…" Jade wanted to say.
"It's OK, Jade. Let's just leave that in the past." Jackie smiled, confusing Jade. "But I think I have a new hobby for you that'll help you express your feelings." He then gave Jade some money. "Why don't you go to the art store and pick up some art supplies?"
"You're giving me 50 dollars for art supplies?" Jade asked with an arched eyebrow.
"Art can be a fun activity Jade." Jackie smiled. "It'll help you deal with some of those negative emotions. Please?"
"Well, why not? I could pick up some paint and markers, and try doing a pretty epic comic!" Jade smiled.
"That's the spirit! I'll see you when you get back." Jackie smiled before Jade walked away and down the street.
Inside the art store, Jade browsed through her selections. "Now what to get? I know I want something colorful for sure." Jade said.
"Yoo-hoo!" a high pitched voice said, catching Jade's attention.
"Who said that?" Jade asked, looking around but finding no one near her.
"Over here! In the aisle to you're left!" the voice said. Jade walked towards the aisle till she spotted a red and magenta striped butterfly.
"That's ridiculous. Butterflies can't talk." Jade laughed.
"No, but this one can!" the butterfly said happily, making Jade gasp. "I've been waiting a long time for you, Jade."
"So you can talk!" Jade happily exclaimed. "How long have you been able to speak?"
"For as long as you had imagination!" the butterfly said happily.
"That's nice to know. I'm just trying to search something fun to draw with. My Uncle Jackie's idea." Jade smiled.
"That's good to know. Because I got a present for you." the butterfly said before pulling out some chalk. "You'll be able to stretch your imagination with this chalk! What do you say?"
"I don't know. I'm not supposed to take things from strangers." Jade said, turning her back for a second.
"That's smart. But I'm not really a stranger. I'm not even human!" the butterfly pointed out.
"Hey, you're right. Jackie didn't say I couldn't take anything from animals anyway." Jade smiled, taking the chalk. "Thank you."
"And here's a chalk board." the butterfly said, handing Jade the chalk board. "Now go home and draw! Draw your feelings out!"
"I sure will! Thank you!" Jade smiled as she headed out the art store.
"Yes, once she unlocks the magic chalk's powers, her feelings will come to life in those drawings. Then it's just a matter of time when she gets to Townsville to play with Bubbles, who is also a master in drawing. Once those two express their deep anger in those drawings, they will have destroyed Townsville for me, and of course, the PowerPuff Girls!" the butterfly said evilly, laughing as he flew away.
In the next chapter, as Jackie and his family prepare for their trip to Townsville, the butterfly (HIM) helps Jade unlock the chalk's powers, allowing her drawings to come to life. Once Jade starts drawing, she begins to feel better. Unbeknownst to Jade, HIM is using her for very evil purposes.
