Author has written 1 story for Harry Potter. I'm Canadian, twenty years old and I love Kraft Dinner. I fell in love reading the Harry Potter books when I was a kid and recently discovered the wonderful world of fan fiction. I really enjoyed reading several of the numerous stories this sight had to offer, but tended to always disagree with one or two things so eventually I decided to give writing my own story a try. Obviously none of the stories compare to Rowling's creation, but it's cool to see all these people coming up with their own stories, and it's great that Rowling allows us to do that. Personally I was rather disappointed with the way the pairings in canon turned out, and that's one of the things I'd like to change in my own story. I strongly feel that Harry and Hermione should have ended up together, and can't fathom the idea of Harry/Ginny nor Ron/Hermione. They were the two main characters in the books and although they weren't always the most pleasant towards each other, I really felt that they should have ended up together if things were written a little differently. The Harry/Ginny relationship and the Ron/Hermione one just seemed so forced in cannon. I mean Harry hardly notices Ginny for four years, and then all of a sudden he has a crush on her? And don't even get me started on the Ron/Hermione relationship, that made even less sense. Neville is another great character that could have been used to a much greater extent then he was in canon. He's sort of the comic relief character in the first few books that everyone picks on but he grows into a great individual that makes a big difference in the outcome of the war and leads an army of students in the revolt against Voldemort. It was actually when I first really started thinking about his character that I got the idea for this story as I wondered how different he would be if he had never lost his parents, and that in turn influenced me to think of what Harry's life would be like as well. Susan on the other hand is just one of those characters that we never see in canon, but I feel has a lot of potential to her, and I've loved reading stories about her on this site. It's also really convenient to have her in the group as a replacement to Ron, as I didn't want to make Ron a major character in my story. I haven't made up my mind yet if Neville and Susan will ever get together or not, but I guess we'll just have to wait and see. Most of the attention will be focused on the four kids and whats going on while they're at Hogwarts but that doesn't mean I will be forgetting about the parents or the rest of the family. Expect to see the parents taking on their own problems every once in a while and even the occasional flashback into their earlier lives later on in the story. As the story progresses, the parents, professors, and young children (Matthew, Joshua, Sarah, and Clarissa) will all have a bigger influence on the story. Dumbledore is another character that's really difficult to deal with, but I plan on having him being a master schemer or sorts, always doing what he believes necessary for the greater good. Finally, once Voldemort makes his appearance at the end of 4th year, you can expect him to be a major character in the story as he goes about causing mass destruction and bringing Wizarding Britain to its knees. He will be stronger then Dumbledore, as from my take on the prophecy, Harry and Voldemort are in a league of their own. Other then that, any questions you may have feel free to message me, or leave a review on one of the chapters. I don't have any plans to write another story any time soon - at least not one encompassing all 7 years like this one will - but i have gotten a few interesting ideas, so I guess we'll just have to wait until this story gets a little further along. Story Update* Hey guys, sorry I haven't updated this story in quite a while. I've been going through a very rough time at school, and I've been extremely hard-pressed for time. I hope to get the next update out by the first week of December. Again, sorry for the delay, and to quell any fears, no I am not giving up on this story. |
